Buy me a new car battery. Some of us have financial obligations and it's hard to buy things like new car batteries.
Good for you for being mister money bags, though...
I'd get a PS3 and a netflix subsrciption if I had money to burn. Hours of entertainment between streaming video and Call of Duty.
Hit up a pick n' pull lot. You could usually get a fairly new battery out of a junked car for a third of the price the manufacturer will charge (assuming you don't have a passably rare vehicle). Find a friend who knows how to put it in if you don't.
I'd invest. Economy's in the ☺☺☺☺ter, houses are pretty cheap. Buy some stock in a real estate company and wait a few years. I'm just speculating, though, and there are probably much better stocks.
If you're feeling more materialistic, buy something you can use over and over again. A TV or a next gen game system would be a good idea.
Or a few hookers. /spam

And you, too, are one of us, and yet you are not. In your words I hear anger, hatred. I see a darkness that is not cold and lifeless, but is alive and moving, like a living entity. I feel caged, trapped, a yearning for escape. --Death Gate Cycle Volume 3: Fire Sea
Out of those, I'd say a good stereo. Magic cards are always awesome, and you could never have enough, but if you don't already have a good stereo, that's just something you can't live without and something some silly lil ipod could never possibly emulate.
Whatever you do, DON'T SAVE IT!!!! Pssssh, we might only have 2 more years left. Enjoy this money while you can.
Don't save it, you'll need more to get any decent interest rate. 3.9% CD will net you a whopping 39 dollars over a year. WHOOOA, you earned 39 dollars you can go for a semi-formal dinner now (for 1).
The best options are
A) Save for college (That's good for 6 months of full time schooling where I live)
B) Down payment on a car
C) Vacation (Cruises are fun!)
D) TV
E) VIdeo game system + games
Those are the best 5 options for 1000 dollars, in order. 10k is a whole other ball park, that's when I'd start looking into investing, or saving it.
Gold is useless with 1k, you'd get basically an ounce.

Jace on the other hand gives you card advantage for no life cost. On the contrary, Jace can actually take some damage for you. I'd think that makes him better than Arena.
Convert the $1,000 into pennies and throw them at old people.

Trust me on this: nothing you buy will give you fulfillment. It's just junk. I hate everything I own, even the things I use, because they just distract me from the few important things I do have (my wife and kids). Things are bull☺☺☺☺.

EDH, on the other hand, is more like a monster truck rally. It's more about the spectacle than the race, the games go long, and it's not usually clear who's in the lead until there's only one truck left.*
Single player EDH is like two guys smacking each other with pillows... until one of them pulls out a shotgun.
Zendikar fetches once they rotate. At $6 a pop (estimated price), I can't see them losing value due to EDH and Eternal.
Pricey Eternal staples that aren't good enough to get banned. Examples include Stifle, Tarmogoyf, and Polluted Delta[/CARD].
Old booster packs. While not likely to go waay up in value, if you can find, say, Mirage for $180/box, why not get it? It won't go down and isnt terribly hard to sell.
