Hey all, I did a quick search for a thread like this and couldn't find one so I figured this would be the right place to turn.
My question is, where do you all go to school. I know we get a wide range of folks here on MTGS, but for those who are still in school, I'd like to know where these people I talk to online go for there non-Magic learning purposes.
Personally, I go to Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. I actually chose the school because it was so frickin' cold there, but I suppose I stayed cause it's a decent school.
I am currently enrolled as a junior in the chemical engineering branch of my school, and I'm loving every second of it X3.
So how about you, MTGS, where do you, or where did you, or where are you planning on going to college?
also, mods if I happened to find the wrong place for this topic, please move it. Thanks

I graduated in 2002 from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. I majored in English (specializing in writing) and minored in History. And of course, my current job has nothing to do with either of those things. Funny how it works.

hehe, yeah I'm currently hoping to become a college professor in my field, but I'm expecting that anything could go wrong
I thought about doing that, but then realized it would require me to be in school for a few more years, and by that time I was so sick of being in school and being mostly broke that I just wanted to get away.

I'm going to be a sophomore soon at Wharton (the business school at University of Pennsylvania). I don't like business too much but I don't know what else to major in.
chemical engineering... to be quite honest, its like majoring in what people want... literally, people just hire chemical engineers to do whatever they want us to, kind of like we're cryptic commands...

In a few weeks I'm going to be going into my freshman year at a moderately sized school in Virginia. I'll be double majoring in Theatre and Psychology.

That's sick dude. If I thought my grades were good enough, I would actually dream of going there.
We live in a country were ~50% of the populace believe public schooling is a socialist conspiracy and that being called Einstein is an insult. We could try and fix it, but unfortunately the other 50% don't believe in euthanasia.

Not all it's cracked up to be. It's a great name brand, for sure, but the education is probably roughly equal to the education that you'd get at any other school. I assume you're still in hs, and my advice is just to not worry about schools. I know that's easy to say on my side but I have plenty of friends who didn't get into their first or even second choices and are extremely happy where they ended up going. Plus, in my opinion, the actual education probably doesn't differ too much.

I don't think the education is all that important to begin with. What about your peers? Who are you hanging out with?
I was talking to a friend that's going to NYU and he was complaining about the general intelligence level.
I go to Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. I'll be a sophomore in the fall, majoring in Electrical Engineering. I'm just hoping I'll actually like my classes since its hard to experience anything close to engineering besides basic physics before you actually take the classes.
or dinosaur pirates!!! big hulking dinos with eye patches and peglegs and troll the ocean on their ships made of smaller dinosaur bones in search or treasures. I would sooo go for that. or better yet, slave dinosaurs that serve the pirates like some sick dinotopia world where people own the dinos.
Sophomore Chem major at Old Dominion University (toast is my brother). Wish they had Chem Engineering...Could've gone to VA Tech for it, but ODU gave me a nice, juicy scholarship.
That's cool, I looked into VA tech, but decided to stay away from VA in general so as to not give my Dad extra reasons to visit (he's an alum from UVA).

I applied and was accepted to Worcester Polytechnic Institute, then they told me the academic grant I was offered was a mistake, and cut about twenty grand out from under my feet. Now I'm going to a state school (UMass...) for electrical engineering because my second choice (northeastern) would have been even more pricey than my first. I start school in two weeks, we'll see how I'm doing a year from now.

Yay, another theatre major!
If that wasn't clear enough, yes, I am also a Theatre major. Minoring in Political Science. Attending Metropolitan State College of Denver. I'm currently a Senior, looking to graduate after the Spring 2010 semester.

I attended St. John's College in New Mexico. The school follows a Great Books model, eschewing majors & electives altogether, with the goal being a comprehensive liberal arts education in literature, philosophy, mathematics, the sciences, language (Ancient Greek & French are required classes) and music. Great Books = a four year study of the Western literary/religious/philosophical canon from Homer to the twentieth century, which constitutes the core of the program. I enjoy it.
I'm going to be starting classes at North Dakota State University in Fargo a week from tomorrow. It's right across the river from Moorhead where vligerdragon went. I'm starting out in Computer Engineering, but of course that could change.
I'm starting my Sophomore year at a local Community College next week. Hopefully, I'll be transferring to UCLA or UC Berkeley next year as an Anthropology major.
