Haha OP, we played at a pre release a while ago, i remember your name
My school's closed to as half the kids were evacuated to mainly the stadium. Also the air quality is really really bad so that it even hurts after a few minutes breathing outside.
It's reminiscent of the cedar fires 4 years ago...
Media is not making me steal. But in a way is like the story of the very hot girl with the short skirt teasing the old sick guy with a history of rape.
It's worse than the Cedar Fires from four years ago. It really is a terrible situation. Out here in El Cajon I feel lucky to be safe, I'm just waiting for an evac order.

At least no one has been hurt or killed yet, as far as I'm concerned (someone correct me if I'm wrong). That's the important thing. Property can be rebuilt and all, but I'm just concerned for the welfare of the southern californians.
One person has died and four fire fighters have been injured. My prayers go out to the families of the victims.
edit: Scratch that 17 have been injured.

Jace on the other hand gives you card advantage for no life cost. On the contrary, Jace can actually take some damage for you. I'd think that makes him better than Arena.
Yeah, it's definatly much worse than when i posted earlier.
Now there's apparently a fire in la mesa, which is much closer to me (in north park) than any of the others. Its beginning to get much smokier down here.
Media is not making me steal. But in a way is like the story of the very hot girl with the short skirt teasing the old sick guy with a history of rape.
Exactly. Wind speeds are expected to hit 50 miles an hour over the next couple of days. They are also hot dry winds.

I should have been more precise. In San Diego we should have a couple more days of extremely heavy winds before they begin to die down. They should be blowing East/Northeast. So I'm somewhat happy about that, meaning I'm glad my home won't be in danger.
edit: That doesn't seem right, but it's what I saw on the news sights.

Windspeed was clocked at 90 mph last night where I live (Palmdale) on the top of a hill near my house. My school is actually an evac center if the fires get too much closer to peoples homes.
So basically I hope the wind dies down and these fires can get under control before they do any more damage.

Yeah, that really doesn't sound right to me as it continues to get closer and closer to the coast. I'm only marginally worried for myself as there is really no where more central than Bay Park, but I do have a number of friends who have been/will be evacuated.
And with the winds not ending anytime soon, it is easily going to be worse than the Cedar Fire. Which worries me quite a bit considering how long it took to recover from that.
Well, there was talk about powerlines falling. But they were investigating some of them as arson.

Strong winds have been causing power lines to fall into dry brush. The fire lights and the wind pushes it out of control before the fire department really has much a chance to start containing it.
Before I start questioning things here, my thoughts and prayers are with anyone on this forum who is in the remotest danger of being burnt or losing loved ones to it. I am sure the death toll will be much higher, it always is difficult to get to grips with these things before the situation has passed.

A likely story. Why are the fires so huge? I can understand the science of what is going on, but it would stand to reason that power lines would have been built to withstand high winds.
The Athens one this summer was blamed on "terrorists" including "a man in his 60s". I suspect nature has been helped more deliberately since a lot of people elsewhere are questioning the scale of the disaster.
I may sound paranoid, I'm afraid, but my instinct tells me that nature is certainly been given a helping hand and that death statistics are often underreported. I'd like to be proved wrong, but twelve years in government (fourteen if you count my government backbench days) and ten in opposition breed a healthy sense of paranoia in anyone...:(:(:(

It's a weather phenomenon called a Santa Anna. Basically extemely high winds that are very hot and dry. We have an annual fire season down here in San Diego because of them. The smallest wildfire can quickly grow out of control.

300,000+ people evacuated.
Biggest Socal Fire in decades they say.
Scary stuff.
250,000 acres of land destroyed so far
