So, a new American Rescue Workers opened up in my home town, and my mother found the most amazing thing there. It is a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in the original box (decent condition 1987), with all the original papers (Warranty Info, Ad for Magazine, Poster of upcoming releases), and the original styrofoam packaging. Better yet, it was $5.00!
What's the best thing you ever found at a Thrift Store/Flea Market/Garage Sale?

When I was young, the smallest trick of light,
Could catch my eye,
Then life was new and every new day,
I thought that I could fly.
I believed in what I hoped for,
And I hoped for things unseen,
I had wings and dreams could soar,
I just don't feel like flying anymore.
Well, I was at a fleemarket and this guy had a tiny coin box along with a bunch of other stuff, inside was a 1909 VDB-S lincoln penny for a buck. In case you don't know what that is it's worth a bit more than a dollar...

One my friends found a box of Judgement and Invasion unopened still in the plastic. It was pretty freaking sweet.

I said I'm not sure. I mean, I want to have children, but I could change my mind down the road, or simply have my testicles cut off in some kind of freak accident. It's just too early for me to tell.

Can you elaborate on found? He opened his trunk at it was there? You hooked it while fishing? It fell from the sky, while a chorus of angels sang as it descended?

I never really got any REEEEEEEEAL good finds, but I did get one of my favorite games at a garage sale for three bucks. What is that game, you ask? It was none other than Wario Land 1, for the original Gameboy. I can't count the number of hours I spent playing that game over and over again. It was very fun indeed.
When I was kiddie I found the 3rd issue of EGM in a thrift store for 50 cents. I bought it cuz it had Super Mario Bros. 3 cheats and I'd been working on it via Super Mario All-Stars. My mom found it and threw it away!! It was mint too.
I got a box of Magic cards at a flea maket about 8 or 9 years ago for $20.
It had 20 Revised Duals, a mint Candelabra of Tawnos a playset of Vesuvan Doppelgangers, a couple of signed Legends card, and a bunch of other stuff - mostly Revised.
Got a whole boxed Space Marines army set (old beaky marines!) for $10 at the thrift shop across the street. Sprues and sprues of old marines and untouched sheets of decals, banners, and even a needle file.
I just bought a 1991 Eagle Talon Tsi. With very little problems for 500.00. After I fix the intercooler piping I can sell it for like 1,000 to 2,500. That Is if I want to get rid of it. ITs tits. It only has 130K miles on it too

I've tried.
forgot all about MtG finds. I went to a new card shop seeking Elf stuff and found a whole box of cards that ranged from Alpha to Fallen Empires. I got playsets of stuff that I already had like Dark Ritual and Terror but then I found a card that seemed pretty cool to me. Hymn to Tourach. I bought 8 of them and managed to get all 4 pics. Only 10 cents a piece. I need to go to that store again and buy the old Lord of the Pit. The guy sells this stuff at less than 1/4 the value.
- A British edition of Anthem, by Ayn Rand, for $5.00 at a yard sale. The book was later published in the United States after heavy editting by the author; the original version was never published in the US. Very excited.
- A signed copy of Wizard's First Rule, by Terry Goodkind, one of my favorite fantasy novels. Thrift Shop, $0.50. Not as rare as the first one, but exciting nonetheless.
not a great find, but still interesting- i got a Silver certificate dollar as change from Subway.
A 1924 printing of ERB's The Land That Time Forgot for $25.
A 1922 printing of ERB's At the Earth's Core for $15.
A 1923 printing of ERB's Pellucidar for $10.
(i collect old books, especially Edgar Rice Burroughs' books)
i also managed to buy Witchblade #1 on eBay for $10 ($5, plus $5 shipping) then later i bought Witchblade #1-6, plus others for $60 which makes me happy as i needed them to finish the series.
as well on eBay, Suikoden II and Valkyrie Profile sell for well over $100 at times, i got my copies for $80 each.

I bought 2 boxes of Invasion at a shop in the mall shortly after the set came out. They were just sitting displayed on a table, so I asked the clerk how much they were.

Anthem was the most difficult book to get through ever, had to read it for ninth grade English. Took me forever to understand.
