Meh, gonna drop discussing this, if I see something that changes my mind, I'll bring it up again but there's too much focus.
Let's hunt at others!
I've asked questions of several of you so let's figure out this *****.
Umami is so off-base from the rest of the game now that I'm a little worried I need to reconsider there... Is she new enough to be this much in her own world?
tbf, I don't think it's necessarily a newness thing, I think it's more of a not engaged in the current thread so want to focus on something that interests me thing--thinking about different scum strategies interests me
It's not even the role thing by itself.
Focus on random-based mechanics.
You seemed to have a scumread on Sloth, and oddly firm townreads on Ter and Fonti?
Arguments based on experience of others while seeming to be less confident and experienced than those others.
I'm not convinced this all is scummy. It just feels kinda disconnected and I'm not sure if I should be seeing that disconnect as scummy, as being new, or just as being unfamiliar.
Sloth- I like how you’re digging into the game and the players. It doesn’t come across as an attack, or that you’ve locked in an opinion that you wouldn’t reconsider. You look like someone trying to solve the game.
Osie- Looks like they’re trying to solve the game with more of a Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency system. Seemingly, a lot of effort went into the “Big Solve” post, and it doesn’t make sense to pseudo clear so many people if scum.
Waiting for the needle to move:
Fulcrum- Earlier they gave off a predatory vibe, and it’s fallen somewhat flat. I need to see them dig into something/someone.
Witchesque:
Terraine- Has spent the majority of the game defending themselves, and aside from a little OMGUS tiff with Az hasn’t tried to solve anybody.
Flying Monkey Mistress-
Azrael- Has not missed an opportunity to paint others in a scummy light. Feels less like hunting and more like looking for an opportunity to stick the knife in.
Caveat:
Tubba- Could have this all wrong, and is somewhat bothered by the fact that his bottom two are clashing right now. It’s possible Osie uses the “Big Solve” as a way to clear themselves and partner and leave LHF in the lynch pool. Sloth might be cosying up to a vulnerable and impressionable Tubba, using him as a stalking horse for innocent Terraine who hasn’t felt like they’ve had a chance to do anything this game but protect themselves. But I like my position on Az.

.....there's less than 12 hours left in the day so *shrugs* unvote
I'm not spending my Saturday morning wasting my time turning around a week's worth of game when there is literally no way to.
Osi's said point blank she won't consider another vote other than me. I think she's said maybe Tubba but I do not have a strong enough read on him to plant a vote and again not going to waste time building a case when she's just going to turn around and say "oh just one scum bussing another"
Fonti said she's voting me.
You say you're done discussing my only strong scum read the only other viable lynch.
So my teams already killed me and I don't really see a point in all this. Just vote and start night and yall can figure it out yourselves.
ftr, depends on what you mean by experienced. Ter's been playing about as long as me, but while in that time I've played 20ish games, she's played no more than 7.
She's clever and resourceful, but also has some difficulties divorcing emotion from the game the way some experienced players do. This is in no way meant to disparage Ter, who is my closest friend and my dearest darling: I'm pretty sure she wouldn't think of herself as experienced either.
Why wouldn't you just ask this, anyway? Damnit Umami stop being scummy.
As for the rest of this post: Yes. Not the only reason. Is it? What was the out again?
Can you talk about your Azrael read?
Bolded.
I'm also interested in seeing how the info above affects your WiFoMy Ter assessment.
Here's the thing, you came in the game saying Ter was scum by post #10 you said, oh no I wasn't going to do this and I know I may be conf!biasing but Ter is scum. Your read hasn't evolved and I think you've had a part (though more subtle than some) in pushing Ter into a corner early, rallying a mob, and then telling her to find a way out. Then accusing her of being too defensive/deflecting/whatever and asking her why she's defending and not hunting. I mean, I am by no means convinced that Ter is good, but I feel like she's been put in a really rough position where I'm not going to get an accurate read on her because she's just in survival mode which can look the same whether scum or town. I still think you're probably town, but dang I want you to be super powerwolfing out of the gate. The thing is, I would hope if you made a catch early instead of saying "caught em" in the first 10 posts you'd continue evaluating their behavior and try to catch them/their partner rather than, I've already said it, but try to get them in survival mode. I think if you're town, your early action against Ter as the person that knows her best in the game would definitely be capitalized on by scum if you're wrong. Azrael has felt sort of wooden in a way I wouldn't expect someone low on time and just popping in and out to feel, but that's by no means a super solid argument.
Ter/Tubba would be the most obvious pairing but that would be pretty bold of Tubba to drop in the last couple of hours and try to save Ter instead of exerting a more well directed effort earlier, especially when Osi has already highlighted them as a likely team.
Tubba what's your read on Sloth suggestion of NL to conf judge? I don't remember what post it was and don't feel like ferreting through the game to find it. If this wasn't you Sloth feel free to correct me
Umami is so off-base from the rest of the game now that I'm a little worried I need to reconsider there... Is she new enough to be this much in her own world?

Nah, your reads of my reads is wrong. I have a townlean on sloth but scum tinfoil and scumleans on fonti and Ter.
Also I don't trust others arguments and I've seen people who know each other incredibly well completely misread each other before, but I do like taking experience playing with others and level of conviction into consideration. I just don't particularly put weight on it when it's on the very first page.
I hadn't heard much from Tubba all game and he was here to ask questions at that point in time. I have a tendency to directly ask questions of specific players when I see they're present. It feels more like I'm going to get an answer then casting questions and @ing into the wind hoping they come back and see it later. Feels more like an active discussion

but I don't see a fonti/Ter partnership and I just naturally want to give the first, pretty much unopposed wagon the town benefit of the doubt

Nah, I meant experience playing mafia in general.
As for the latter sentence, I can go double check, but it seemed like you were implying that we shouldn't put any effort into forming reads on Day 1.

nah, go for it with the Day 1 reads, but I take them with a grain of salt
also, with the quote, I specify very first page (not Day 1 in general) in reference to Sloth
someone earlier mentioned that you really lock on to specific word choice/phrasing and are very detailed oriented in a way. Seems weird to see page 1 and generalize it to day 1 for you?
Font, why have GD out themselves N3 instead of N1 in a game this small? Why no follow-up on setting up expectations of when GD/UTk should claim?
If I was being uncharitable, I would worry that you are specifically suggesting the GD wait until N3 because you have knowledge about that role and can always claim, whoops GD must have been killed already which is why they never came forward where, if they had to claim D2, would be forced to give conclusive information and either choose to be accurate or get caught in a lie later
She had a scum lean on Azrael, noticed an obscure tell and moved from him. Deadline is approaching and thats who I think we should lynch. If she has insight on why we should't I'd like to hear it.
Aye...but seems like a dry well at this point since Az probably can't be lynched with the current game state and you are her outside "I'm willing to vote this person D1" pick.
All in all seems a moot point.
Final thoughts since I'm sure I'll be lynch by the time I finish my walk. In short the whole game seems ****y. Look at some of the dumber cases and inconsistencies used against me.
Mainly what Umami points out in 369. I nitpick on phrasing and push for clarity on micro details (IE its weird to call someone good at this and assume they'll make a derp scumslip before they're off page 1 all in the same post) and I'm "twisting" players words and casting everything in the worst light possible. Disingenuous.
Osie in the meantime in 263 does the same thing but actually changes my wording which also changes the meaning of the point I was making. I never said we were pressuring anyone but that's what it becomes about in her post.
Pressing someone and pressuring someone are very different things to me. I press someone for an answer cause I want info and clarity on what they mean. I pressure them because I'm looking to see how they react to stress. Both Sloth and I pressed Osie for clarity on her play. Yet Az says "look! Osie hits the nail on the head with how disingenuous she is!" instead of taking issue with someone actually twisting the words.
Because its about getting the lynch not reading the information.
Sloth, how are you not getting weird vibes from font? You did a weak reaction test with, as you admit, super ambiguous results and just leap to the conclusion that because it's odd she must be town? I'm not following
Font's whole presence is just off this game. Already discussed her spelling everything out thing that looks sort of credit oriented but what's even weirder to me is she makes a point to say that she will solve the game quick so has to get all her information out there to help town as much as possible since she's going to be NK night 1. And, after all that, she's just not present and not solving. She'll respond to direct questions and she'll make random fluff statements but she certainly isn't invested. While not being invested can be NAI, she is the self-professed town leader who is such a threat she's not going to make it to Day 2. I mean, if she is town, I feel like she would be experiencing more pressure to live up to that, especially during what she perceives to be her last hours of the game. She's not even voting and she's not here. It's legit bizarre
Yeah, she said she was, but like it's 2 hours from EOD and she's not here. If she's leaving it to EOD, I would suspect it would be for a reason, like she wants further discussion or an attempt to solve, which I think makes a lot of sense so long as she's here to do that. If she's legit waiting until the last 5 minutes and not planning on discussing anything, then what's the point of waiting to vote?
I am...not in the right headspace nor with have the time to work on some sort of overhaul here, but I'll check intermittently...what happened since my last post.
someone earlier mentioned that you really lock on to specific word choice/phrasing and are very detailed oriented in a way. Seems weird to see page 1 and generalize it to day 1 for you?
Nah, I just tend to read into perceived subtleties. It's really not a strong point of my play. It occasionally catches a slip here or there, but most of the time it's just paranoia.
Kinda hard since I’m on mobile but I’ll do what I can. What about az made you hop off him?
He feels like Jari, arrogant and tunneled. The refusing to acknowledge that he misread the votes is a really stupid and pointless thing for scum, I think instead it's from this "I'm always right" town mindset.
Could be wrong there, because I'm sold on Tubba being town now, still think Sloth is town, Umami and Osie are pretty town, so that just leaves you and Az bussing each other into the ground.
Originally, I jumped off because I saw him say he was at 3 votes and took his word for it.
I'm doing as much of a reread as possible before hammering. It's possible scum don't have gravedigger and were trying to confirm Ter as mafia here? I think they make a different shot though, on a more town person.
He hasn’t posted in at least a day and there’s 10 minutes left. I waited til I had no choice (at l1) and took my shot. Even if he has been here and I announce ok I’m Assassin az claim or I’m taking my shot I run the risk of being lynched before I can get it in. I had to shoot before lynch confirmed with tom
Let's hunt at others!

Not at all my intent. You are not a sore loser, and I don't believe you take things personally.

Speaking of perceived wording subtleties...
Anyways, no offense to Ter, but between Ter and Azrael, I never vote for Azrael unless I'm a LOT more certain, which in this game I'm not.
He feels like Jari, arrogant and tunneled. The refusing to acknowledge that he misread the votes is a really stupid and pointless thing for scum, I think instead it's from this "I'm always right" town mindset.

This is actual not ideal for reasons. W/e.
Azrael has survived an attempt on his life
Sure, and you didn't claim Assassin first and try to force a claim from Az because ___.
Ter you just tried to off Azrael? Unless you can give a reason not to, I want you to flat-out claim your role and what you did towards Az.
@tom can scum target each other with killing abilities this game?
