@DV: I am Sycorax, and let me will be known - let it rain fire, and let the concrete burn my feet. Burn away the influx of new life they call Spring and bring me Summer.
**** me, right?
Kitty, if you need points of your role clarified, I suggest you ask DV.
Nacho, I'm gonna need you to explain why you thought your role was 95% in conflict with KCC's, what's made you no longer think so, and why you now don't think she's scum as opposed to still thinking she's scum but not for reasons of your role?
As the town is debating on who the traitors are the air becomes warmer and the sky opens up with a warm rain. A crack of thunder made from unnatural force sounds in the sky above. The town watches in awe as the very season changes in front of their eyes.
I am Sycorax, Town Illusionist, got the ability to swap seasons. So it's summer now, will be spring tomorrow. Is only a one-shot power so am now effectively a VT.
The reason why I was initially skeptical of her role based on mine is because my role has two uses - **** up a scum JOAT, benefit a town JOAT. My big expectation was scum JOAT since it's harder for my role to have positive synergy with people I can't talk to without letting baddies know. That on its own is obviously not enough to counterclaim.
That small niggle + scumread blew up into "I'm willing to take a leap on this and lie" came with the description of her roleblock - I didn't trust the "it blocks scum but not vig and maybe SK" and that read like a scum slip based on DV calling out the scum kill as "the night kill" in scum role PMs and "all kills" in town ones.
I was willing to take this risk because it seemed like there weren't a whole lot of people hard townreading Kitty anyways + I was hopeful I'd be able to talk myself out of getting mislynched the next day without a significant fight.
There are a couple of reasons I thought that playing up the counterclaim was a stronger move than ignoring the role stuff and hammering in the scum slip and just push for the lynch.
1) thought it would be more polarizing, leave for a more interesting situation for scum and town to react to (in particular, felt the chances of people having strongly and obviously alignment indicative reactions went up)
2) the chances of me drawing a kill over outed Mason jump up significantly if I'm correct (which I was pretty confident that I was, just not 95%).
To Kitty, I'm sorry for lying about my role to get you rush lynched. I'm thankful you had the opportunity to make the last couple of posts that you did and applaud you for the apparently ridiculously cool headed style.
I liked Kitty's last post and the posts leading up to it as much as I did simply because it fits the mindset I was struggling to understand easier so well; finally reached the point where it looks like she's 100% going to die, and that's when she posts the readslist that people were asking for long ago and, if scum, she could have done so long ago to get people off her back. I don't see a world where Kitty could produce this whole time but decided to keep it in her back pocket until the last possible second.
There are also genuine bits here and there, but that's the gist. Also linking a countdown to deadline below for convenience's sake since people seem to be miscalculating:
@DV: Are you following Natural Role Resolution? What happens if a scum player A roleblocks and kills a townie B that busdrove themselves and the scum player? Who dies?
I'm going to sleep now! I'll be awake and around before deadline tomorrow/today.
Uhh. I feel like what Nacho's done here is convoluted and paranoid in a kind of towny way.
Like, strictly speaking these roles don't have a lot to do with each other - all of KCC's abilities are disruptive, so changing the season would only change which type of disruption she got to use - it's only from the kind of removed perspective of "this role would mess up a JOAT, so there should be a JOAT of the opposite alignment". So for him to be a wolf, he'd have to decide to counterclaim knowing he was on very shaky footing to justify it no matter KCC's flip, and then rescind and waste his only ability (possibly not a waste and possibly not only if he's mafia, I guess) as, idk, a demonstration that he's telling the truth?
tbh the use of the role now feels -EV no matter alignment, so I'll echo Rhand's question.
With your new thought that KCC is town, who do you believe had an AI reaction to your counterclaim, Nacho?
There's like a disconnect between how I perceive the root of your old read on her and what you've said about what's moved the needle, but it might be my perception. I thought you thought she was bland, and... well, SRing Gemma isn't, but a lot of the reads come to no strong feeling or hedge.
I do get what you're saying about the reads list and why she wouldn't pull it out earlier when part of your read also hinged on her posting too much self-defense and not enough solving. I don't know if she was physically able to produce it earlier, though?
Now I want to just reset to "don't really want to kill KCC"? I don't really know.
Vote Axelrod
I think Killjoy's description of Axelrod hit the nail decently on the head, I feel like he's pushing on things that look bad instead of things that are bad.
Like 928, if KCC is town, I think she clearly explained why reads lists can be pro-mafia and/or he should recognize this as a theory disagreement, but Axel is down on her for it, and mentions her piling on Mindreaver as another scummy thing. I feel like this again is only a bad look if you assume I'm town, but Axel is null-scum on my slot at this time - the reads don't really fit together?
I thought some of Axel's posts about the claim situation were really natural (1619, can't pin down why but it just feels good) and some felt off (1636, kind of empty)
I am worried I'm misinterpreting things because I'm not familiar with his personality or playstyle, and I wasn't there for I think a greater proportion of his posts than most other players'.
I don't want to CFD Grape here. I think he's a slot that can pretty easily townclear himself if he's town and I don't want what has happened here to jeopardize our ability to avoid a mislynch like that.
What the **** though? Where the love go?
Five, four, three, two, where the ones go?
It's a ***** show, put you front row
Talkin' *****, bro? Let your tongue show

Right, so how does affect your read on fulcrum? Because she wrote a bunch of words about how Vaimes was treating tom and how that made Vaimes mafia and tom town - those thoughts didn't make much sense to me but I don't actually scumread tom so you may have a different perspective on them.
I'll quote her post here for you. Will comment more on tom specifically in a bit.
defend: resist an attack made on (someone or something); protect from harm or danger.
I don't know what kind of hoops you're jumping through to conflate "defend" and "ignore," but these are very different ideas. Is this supposed to be a partner read? A whiteknighting read? A bad townread?
Oh, you actually responded. Didn't notice.
Taking a person out of your lynch pool is saying they shouldn'y be lynched, aka defending.
I don't really get how this is hard: the majority of people in the game have decided that tom should not be lynched today because gimmick or something, therefore does not have to be worried about being lynched. You are a driving force in that, even though you should know not to be. Like, the reason tom messes around here is because he knows he'll get away with it. He doesn't do that on dlp, because he knows he won't get away with it. He doesn't get away with it there, because we build towncircles, and him obfuscating his reads means he can't get into the towncircles. And that's why lynch pools in general are bad, because it's the people outside the towncircle and the people you have decided not to lynch for non-alignment reason, with nothing distinguishing those two groups. It let's you, Vaimes, avoid Tom's attention without having to townread him.
Where this gets interesting is I actually think Tom is town. The way he backed off me when I asked, several other read timings, the way he responded to Rhand, and the way he looked at the Gemma/me stuff all feel towny. But the way he's been treated this game, I think, goes beyond what can just be expected from this site not caring to lynch him early, into scum deliberately avoiding him. And hey, looks like that weirdness is coming from you and Rhand.

You have an edge of bravado this game. I was townreading it for a while, after your push on Nacho, and your tango with lastwhisper, but that's all you've done. You're voting Axel, and have basically been on him since the beginning of the game, but don't have any real reasoning for it. You're kind of pushing him, but you're not actually try to convince people to join you. You seem to be coming back into the thread with ideas as they develop, but there mostly one liners for people who annoy you (me, last) not the pointed scumhunting you're capable of. You defended mind both when he wrote his hulk hogan post and when he didn't say anything after. You defended Rhand as an easy early mislynch, but didn't address the actual case against him. You're talking the talk, but not walking the walk.
It's worth mentioning that I iso'd you by control f'ing my way through the game, so I wouldn't be surprised if I missed something relevant. You're likely not scum with mind anyway, because that defense would've felt very, very bad to make as a partner. So, let's have a go, and see where we land, hmm?

I don't ~super agree with her analysis, I think, though my read on Vaimes is drifting a bit
I'd have to check my notes to see if tom is wolf reading fulcrum but if they're town reading each other... Lean towards not w/w and if one is a wolf it's probably tom?
Like, I kind of think wolf!fulcrum tries to keep town!tom's lunch open, though I guess that's a bit less likely here since tom's harder to mislunch than on DLP, and wolf!tom probably has a hard time townreading her if they're partners though I'd need to check the timing on his town read
If tom's wolf or null reading her, partners is definitely a possibility but I don't think there's a case against either of them at the moment.
@Gemma this one really feels like the sort of wolfy bulling you're referring to. I haven't done an in depth read yet but this feels like it's building towards a wolf read and then completely undercuts it.
Part of me wants to town read that as scum like to avoid that sort of disconnect in their posts but the thrust of the intent feels anti town to me.
I'm going to do a deeper dive in the morning as that has caught my interest.
so this is grape knowing silver is town and trying to logic himself into wolfreading him
I thought about it a lot. Its not town grape wondering if maybe this gut feeling hes having is wrong, but that doesnt make sense with the "the thrust of the intent feels anti town to me."
Which is first of all an exciting new pioneer into making buzzwords mean even less than usual. But is more importantly completely divorced from what hes talking about.
Like, hes literally talking about silver doing nothing and scumreading it for what its trying to do.
Its the most forced read in this thread. And even knowing towngrape as a player that sort of has to force himself to really push anything because he feels bad if hes wrong this is just beyond the possibility of real thoughts
As the town is debating on who the traitors are the air becomes warmer and the sky opens up with a warm rain. A crack of thunder made from unnatural force sounds in the sky above. The town watches in awe as the very season changes in front of their eyes.
Also liked fontis reasoning on grape. Hes got... some kind of opinion he shouldnt have on her that... sort of self-dismisses his opinion of her rather than... forming... anything
His read on me is pretty garbage too hes got, like, a <thing> i would do as any alignment which he sort of aknowledges but just decides to call it scummy because...
And stuck with it because...
Basically tryna say ive played with grape a lot/know him pretty well and i think his style makes a certain type of player scumread him regardless of alignment because of a pretty pronounced indecisiveness but this isnt the kind where he doesnt know things and is paralyzed by that indecision this is the kind where he does know and must push ***** anyway
He's wrong but for absolutely the right reasons. Pretty sure he just articulated my entire game but than I can.
Anyway yeah that post was a steaming pile. It's what I get for trying to be insightful when I've only read 10% of the game. I get very suggestible and spew bs.

If axel is scum all of his partners are lurkier than him.
I think hes made great posts when hes n9t just proddodging, though not necessarily alignment indicative ones.
But when i look at his reads and his thoughts i iust see someone with no support. He feels like he feels alone.
My first thought was this just means he doesnt have a team but ive moved him down a little bit from that in conjunction with my feels that the general thrust of the thread was towny early on thus scum is in the lurkers/replacements. So hes town or scum on a pretty ***** team
Probably doesnt matter now because all the claimy stuff is super towny, but nacho i pretty much locked in as town early on because he just wasnt having ebough fun to be scum.
His manic anxiety really showed in his flurries. Like, its kinda what that grape indecision would look like if he were town and also a crazy person

To Kitty, I'm sorry for lying about my role to get you rush lynched.
No, I understand where you were coming from there. I'd have been suspicious too, though I'm not sure I'd have gone quite that far with it
Anyway, it's fine, you made up for it by letting me skip my BS RB
Also, really not feeling an Axel lynch here. -Seriously, he's been pushing me all day, but then when EOD pressure started actually moving in my direction (pre "cc"), he kinda pulls back? Will check in during slow periods and breaks.
And when I claimed, he could have easily found reasons to just bury me with it, but he seemed to really be weighing it carefully. -I don't see it
