Setback after setback had frustrated the crew. Time and time again the feds had known where they were going to be and gotten in the way. Everyone knew they had one shot left or they were going to have to get out of dodge with nothing to show for it.
Pipes stood up first but immeadiately sat back down realizing he didn't want that type of pressure. Jones cracked his knuckles and stood up. "Look fella's. I trust most of ya. Not all of ya, but most of ya. And I know fer a fact that you trust me. That's why you're here. So here's the rough plan.
...
.............
........
Which one of youse is in?" But not enough stood up. People were side eyeing left and right. So Slick stood up and said "I know you all know Jones has been selling us out since the beginning. You leave him and we'll do this my way." To which he got nothing but icy stares and a few hands sliding towards holsters.
A calm voice from the back rang out "Look, none of this has gone according to plan. But every operation has run like clockwork. You've all put yer lives in my hands and I've got you back out. Trust me, Jones' plan is good, but you've got to trust me to get everyone where they need to go and trust me on who to trust." And since Doc had got them out alive everyone reluctantly handed him the reins of the mission.
Mission 5 was: KJ, Last, LnG, Riku, and Shadow
Mission 5 has failed
3 passes and 1 fail were submitted.
KJ sent LnGrrrR on the dummy mission. The scum team was Cantrip, Rhand, and Shadow.
Thank you all so much for playing. I hope you all enjoyed the game. I'm a bit sad that one of the last games to finish on the mafia forum isn't going to be proper mafia but I'm glad this was such a down to the wire affair. I have some more thoughts and I'll type them up later but for now thank you all so much for playing. I had an awesome time hosting this game and I hope you had as good of a time as I did.
@Shadow: Well played. You knew that me and wisp were on the cusp of you and Lngrrr and you played it straight. I probably would have been more dubious, had LngRrr not effed his own mission up, but that was definitely influenced by your comments. As usual, I should have been more confident in my scumread of you, but props to you for pulling it off.

I am also called Riku. I tend to prefer being called riku.
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
Man it’s hard to play as outed scum. I almost wished I could get lynched in this game and get it over with.
I am kind of proud though. I feel like I did play a big part in getting Lngr dummied over Shadow in that last mission.
Having mission 2 pass made this game feel incredibly hard; the dummy mechanic feels super town sided, but I’m super happy we managed to pull this off.
I tried really hard to run this game; my intent was to powerwolf and signal the heck out of this game and just roll the town, so massive props to all of you for managing to make it a hard fought game.
@cantrip/Rhand good work guys, little rocky early game, the bussing at the start was a bit rough, and I should have approved that first Cantrip mission, but otherwise great work.
@Ruma: I totally think my criticism of your analysis post was justified, I just pushed it with more fury than I maybe otherwise would have; I needed your mission to fail
I felt forced in bussing mode when Cantrip didn’t propose the Cantrip/Shadow/Rhand mission.
At one point I literally said that I wanted that mission and wanted it to fail.
@Lngr: I think you could’ve sold us as a team if you would’ve dug up that post.
Blah. You never really answered why I would've accepted mission 2 if I was scum with Rhand. Not to mention that no one actually listened to me once I sunk my own mission. Which, again, makes no sense from a scum perspective, but whatever. I really have no idea how you guys came onto me being the last scum.
This whole last day felt like, "GrrR, prove you aren't scum!" With me responding, "Well, here are some reasons I am. Granted, I can't prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt." And everyone replying, "HAHA YOU CAN'T PROVE IT! SCUM!"
Well remember, if you had accepted my mission 5 we would of won... How's that for karma
Honestly grr, I kept saying tonally you looked town, but u handled it all poorly, I gave reasons why shadow could be scum, going into mission 5 he was my top scum, it's w/e I guess
Tonally town, and I accepted mission 2 even though scumbuddy Rhand was on it too... what did I do wrong again?
And I voted yes for your Mission 5.2... so... ? Myself, you and Riku voted yes. KJ voted no on your mission.
I realize I punted my own mission, but I feel like I needed the time to really understand the game state. I used the time to re-read, figured out the team, and everyone was like, "LOL SCUM".

I’m taking credit for pushing the “Lng scum for punting” stance, I am actually pretty proud of how I handled everything around mission 5 to warp perspectives. Cause yeah, you were pretty solid town overall.
@Shadow, I don't even see how you got credit for that. Like, in what world does that make me scummier? Oh yes, scum!me would definitely want to punt the mission THAT I AM CONTROLLING lol.
Oh wow, the team was what I thought and called out early this day. God forbid people look at the actual missions!
Argh, so frustrating. Like, no one really cared examining why Shadow and Cantrip dummied each other, or why Shadow didn't include himself. Blah.
Yeah, you nailed us. Sorry it was so frustrating to you, but it was amusing to me (when it wasn't nervewracking that the others might start paying attention to you). Honestly, I think saying that I dummied Shadow was my biggest mistake. I should have said I dummied Last and he passed. I think it would have cemented my town status for the final mission.
Man it’s hard to play as outed scum. I almost wished I could get lynched in this game and get it over with.
I am kind of proud though. I feel like I did play a big part in getting Lngr dummied over Shadow in that last mission.
I felt like you did a stellar job of sowing confusion. I personally think you should have passed mission 2 to make the fail in mission 3 as hard to figure out as possible. I know that would have guaranteed we'd have to fail the last 3 in a row, but... Regardless, good job.
Kudos to Shadow for playing a great scum game and to Cantrip for managing to cast a losing vote without losing
FTR (and Grape can confirm this because I sent him my predictions), I called vote for vote most of the vital decisions, so I felt pretty confident with casting my losing votes to throw peeps off the trail.
@cantrip/Rhand good work guys, little rocky early game, the bussing at the start was a bit rough, and I should have approved that first Cantrip mission, but otherwise great work.
You did a stellar job of being town. Sorry that I flubbed that first mission. I actually let myself be lured by all the "any mission is fine" malarkey and submitted a proposal off the cuff rather than considering the thread atmosphere.
I feel like practically everyone had some solid moments this game. Wisp did a lot of accurate analysis. Grr literally called the scumteam and reasoned why. KJ had a really open thought process (second half of the game, specifically) that I felt made him feel quite townie. And Riku cut through a lot of the baloney without batting an eye. I'm glad that we won, but it was definitely by the skin of our teeth and I could very easily have seen it go the other way.
Thanks to all of you (especially Grape) for a very fun game.
It would have just made us a strict dichotomy though, rather than you confirmed and me having to be with you, which has drawbacks but also wouldn’t have been the worst. Honestly, you leading mission 4 made you very nearly mechanically scum, and it would have been great if you just saw “nah, I totally dummied no one, good luck”
Oh yeah, forgot to say, good game lawmen For my first game, it was pretty interesting. I didn't really get why the votes would be important until like... mission 4 lol.

My missions was 5.1, but I said that I was fine with people cancelling so we had more time to talk stuff out, which led to everyone voting no. I suggested myself, you, LW, Riku and Shadow. I planned on dummying Shadow. I also should've stuck with my gut; would've won. But I had to re-read to make sure I was right in my thought process.

I think my trusting Shadow would have led me to not approving your mission. Unfortuneate, as it's what lost us the game.

@shadow: My analysis was to the level it needed to be. People just find it easier to believe the voice of reason then the voice of chaos.
@cantrip: Still fell for the final shadow logic tho. Bad habit to have.

Sure, but again, why would scum!me cancel my own mission willingly? I will say I made a mistake, due to paranoia about Last that I wanted to review, but you guys pretty much took that and didn't look at the other info presented in thread.
Right, but that was D1. Like, you guys went off "feels" instead of just looking at mission 2. I mean, I don't mind the b a jerk, but the idea that I had developed some hidden communication was so ridiculous that I was pretty sure you were just completely confbiasting there.
The fact that you and LW are still blaming me might point to the idea that you guys were unwilling to change your minds after you had been bamboozled. I used logic and got shut down, I used emotion and got shut down. By end of day, no matter what I said, you guys were finding ways to twist it as scummy.
Honestly, let's say my mission gets voted down by the three scum and KJ. Do you really think that would change your mind? Did the votes on List's mission really get looked at? Heck, by punting that one mussion, we got votes on 3 others. Arguably at least the same amount of info.

Which forced interaction?
Also, if you aren't scum this game, know that I am going to lord this up over you for general wrongedness.

No (2): Cantrip, Rhand
It's now mission 5. You have 24 hours to submit your actions. Please do not post.

Also nothing you said about Grr is why I flipped on him @shadow... The only reason was that damn missing 3.2 lol

Also if we had just trusted Riku more, this game would've been different, but we didn't, so shame on us I guess
