^Tom just put this far more eloquently than I could.
It’s time to let this go and analyze more productive things. This is a logic circle that only gets deeper.
I like Roller’s vehemence here, it’s a town look to me. I’d like Rod to do something, but I’m probably just going to slot him scum until that happens.
Vote Rod
What did you like about Tom's post. Specifically.
I don’t think there’s any value to be had in Rod/Roller chasing each other around the SK/PM scenario, and shifting focus to things more likely to bear fruit was necessary.
Tom’s post summed up my thoughts on the subject pretty well.
Yo highroller I know you're new and I'm pretty much just locking you as town between this and claim but you really don't know how this works dude.
Non town is almost always given a town role PM somehow. Whether it's in the OP like this game, or getting a fake claim as part of their role PM, or just a "hey mafia here's what a town role PM looks like" from the mod in the QT/discord.
That's standard exactly so these conversations don't take over games.
It is at least viable that rodemy is, an idiot yes, but telling the truth here.
Hell he could be mafia and still have thought not getting modkilled made you a lock SK.
And no one wants to engage you on this because it's not supposed to be part of the game. Which is not your fault it's rodemys but still.
Like, Idk man maybe he's scum I certainly don't agree with rhand that it's clearing for him at all but. Yeah it's whatever dude
If the town win condition is posted in the first post, I have never seen a mod also give a town role PM to the mafia.
The only thing that makes sense for Rodemy is that he didn't realise the impossibility of someone both posting his town role PM and not being town which is not that hard to believe. His insistence on changing his story and trying to claim to he intentionally didn't unvote is what's bothering everyone.

I can't make those two thoughts line up in my head.
Discussion of Rodemy's early actions is actively harmful. I dislike it on principle because it is rooted in questions about the rules, as opposed to actions. Further, at this point it's a smokescreen. We have perfectly good reasons to vote Rodemy without paying any attention to those actions. I think scum is using this as an excuse to deflect away from Rodemy.

So do you town read Rodemy? Do you scum read KA? Do you have any opinions on the wagon on Rod?
@EtR What's your current read on Elijah and Highroller? (and me, maybe.. if you want to do three)
Highroller I'm coming around on. I didn't like his first few posts, but he's said some good things recently and I like his stance on Gozer. I have him closer to town than scum.
Elijah I still think is scum and he has done nothing to change my mind. In fact, I can't think of anything relevant that he's done since I took my vote of him to vote for you.
For you, I still believe you to be scum. There was a lot that you didn't comment on during your initial catch up post. It felt like a lot of questions for the sake of questions. I also am concerned with some of your wording as I've pointed out.
@highroller: Of course I thought the votes were suspicious. I was trying to get ETR to elaborate on his thoughts on who is more likely to be scum.
I'm not sure, but with interactions it will be a lot easier to tell soon. If I were forced to guess now, I would say Tom, but I haven't been reading Tom as scum. So it's a big
yo what's suspicious about wagoning one of my scumreads?
It wasn't that you voted for Rod specifically, it was the manner. It was a naked vote with no further justification in what felt like a "safe" time to do it.
I'm still inclined to believe Rod is just bad town at this point.
My gut says this is scum post.
Idk, it feels like you know what Rod will flip. If he flips scum, then you have established his bad play, but if he flips town, you would be in the I-got-it-right-so-listen-to-me kind of group. To me this sounds more like you just don't want to vote him.

If Kami really believed that scum is doing that, then he would name someone.
Also, “perfectly good reasons to vote Rodemy” is awkward wording, but not sure of that is alignment telling or just style.

Okay, fair enough.
My thoughts on Rod are based more in Rod’s play than any potential slip up based on “Modkillgate”. I’ve mentioned previously that Rod is not playing like what I’ve come to expect. There’s no drive, no attempts to solve, and his early game flip flop stance on Tom is spurious. Couple that with no engagement with the thread at large, and you have what appears to be a scummy Rod.

Aren't you not voting Rodemy? You could be voting Rodemy. That would move things along more than, "I think Rodemy's super suspicious and am calling for his blood! Also I'm going to not vote Rodemy and instead jump around on multiple other bandwagons!" Do you get a free frozen yogurt for the eighth person you vote for or something?
But I agree that it'd be cool if we didn't drag this day out until December 19.

@Highroller I'm not voting Rod because the game was bogged down and I was trying to create discussion. Parking my vote on Rod had done all it could do was hoping to get some reactions by voting Ruma. But despite promising early results that didn't pan out.
@RE why is Ruma town to you?
@Rod can you describe Tom's scum game to me? Just his general scum meta.
It's not just about activity for him. It's tone and aggressiveness (may I dare say, sassiness?). Low activity accompanied by weak/vague stances would be a scum indicator, but right now it's just activity and I've seen him less active than this as town.

Until I voted him I definitely thought the sassiness as you called it was missing. He's just not mixing it up that much. Which is unlike his town game.
Interesting that we basically agree on the meta but disagree on the conclusion.
Tom normally stays distant and manipulates the flow. Like, he will put opinions out there that go with the flow, not much disturbance of the status quo, ya know?
He sets up mislynches over time. His progression on me in.... um? Magical Mafia? Is a good example. Um.. it was the game with him and terry where I called him out the entire game and nobody listened.
I can since him as scum with his progression on me. Tom, why am I scum? Is it because a wagon on me was getting heavy and you didn’t wanna be suspicious?
Because I don’t remember you giving a single good reason for it

@Joe: you realise I am voting Kami too, right?
Not yet, I haven't reread up to where you subbed in. I've got a couple flags that popped up on him. I'm on my new comp and working on it tonight.
V/LA Friday-Sunday. Will try to post Sunday evening.
Rhand: I asked Vaimes about the scumteam because he made a comment about the scumteam. More importantly - "this doesn't make sense" is the primary behavioral way to catch scum. Scum set an agenda and then weave a web of lies to support it; inconsistencies in the web are how we detect that.
Terry, if this is town Rod being pushed by scum, who's the scum pushing him?

Ok, I caught up and Kami is my number one scum. He feels like spends the first half of this game day, mediating and not really investigating. The vast majority of his posts were just questions pointing people one way or another, not a whole lot of statements or opinions from him and a lot of his posts just seem reactionary, like he's just skimming the thread addressing anything pointed his way and not much else. These are just general feelings I got from rereading, but there's a bit more that set off my suspicion.
Post #189, seems like it's his first real insight besides just asking pointed questions and when you read it deeper, it's more than just saying Highroller is probably town because he pushed for a claim in Banned, but it uses statements like:
"His actual arguments are weak as they hinge on making a lot of assumptions about how MTGS games work. For example, his point 1 is wrong because it assumes that scum can't get a town role PM, which is false - I was scum in Phantom Tollbooth and got a full town PM, with a safe falseclaim and the town win condition all right there. But he's pushing forward with confidence on those assumptions. I think he believes that he's making strong arguments."
While this bash on Highroller secretly makes me smile, it's clearly a scum backdoor to lynching highroller down the road. These comments didn't need to be made for any other reason.
Post #296 is just a bunch of shade, but his push on lurkers also bugs me because so many of his posts are just fluff, like he's intentionally trying to get his vote count up.
His push on Vezo felt forced and when Vezo pushes back, Kami just backs down and hops on the Rod wagon. Then he tries to tell us not to look at Rod's early posts, which actually feel pretty town to me and his post #604 really sounds forced. He talks like there's this super strong case on Rod and yet he hardly bats an eye at Rod up until his vote on Rod (which was the 5th on the wagon).
I've got a pretty strong scum read on this one guys.
So the example that comes to mind is when he was talking about [something flavorgamey I think] and goes "but I want to talk about this vezok inconsistency"
And like I didn't really agree with either thing he was saying iirc but it struck me as keeping a couple threads going in his head at once and it was smooth

what?
That was a super strong town read where the back door?

If you ISO Kami you’ll see that Vezok is the only one he was talking to / about already when that post came.
There weren’t multiple threads really.
And what Terry says, Kami kept on doing: he calls Highroller town pretty fast and then keeps on saying how his arguments are weak.
It’s scum mindset. Kami isn’t trying to convince his town read that he’s wrong, he’s telling the rest of us not to listen to someone he thinks is town.
I don’t think there’s any value to be had in Rod/Roller chasing each other around the SK/PM scenario, and shifting focus to things more likely to bear fruit was necessary.

I kind of like Rhand but I'll need to take a closer look at his case on Kami
Fuwa looks slightly better
Vaimes feels kind of weird, but if Rodemy were to flip scum, I'd reconsider
.
I intend to vote Rodemy and should be around during the deadline

@Cantrip: since the town wincon is posted publicly, don’t you think the scum wincon should be posted as well?
@Highroller I'm not voting Rod because the game was bogged down and I was trying to create discussion. Parking my vote on Rod had done all it could do was hoping to get some reactions by voting Ruma. But despite promising early results that didn't pan out.
@RE why is Ruma town to you?
@Rod can you describe Tom's scum game to me? Just his general scum meta.
Vote: Kami
I’ll explain more after my reread. But feel free to hoot and holler in the meantime
It's not just about activity for him. It's tone and aggressiveness (may I dare say, sassiness?). Low activity accompanied by weak/vague stances would be a scum indicator, but right now it's just activity and I've seen him less active than this as town.
*slowly vanishes*
Until I voted him I definitely thought the sassiness as you called it was missing. He's just not mixing it up that much. Which is unlike his town game.
Interesting that we basically agree on the meta but disagree on the conclusion.
Because I don’t remember you giving a single good reason for it
To me that fits perfectly in the manipulate the flow part you described.
How is that different from my town game?
And I believe the game you're referring to is pirates.
Or at least that's a game that Terry was in where you kept calling me scum and no one would listen
I was town tho
Assume I'll hammer any of rod/fuwa/joe given the opportunity
Prolly vaimes or any of my nulls too tbh but doesn't seem likely to come up
Or if you prefer defending a player he always wants to lynch from a scum read.
I know I held off on calling tom scum in pirates because he was the loudest voice town reading me. I was however scum in that game.
I was sure you didn’t talk about Joe, but I pulled up your ISO and you recently did.
My apologies.
Talk to me more about your Kami town read though.
@Joe: you realise I am voting Kami too, right?
And like I didn't really agree with either thing he was saying iirc but it struck me as keeping a couple threads going in his head at once and it was smooth
That was a super strong town read where the back door?
“I think he believes he’s making strong arguments”
He gives highroller a town read while belittling his play, so he can leave him as an option
