I dont think its me either. Nor can it be tom at this point.
I, however, am not a responsible adult and i'm placing my vote on dan.
If tom IS scum, we never stood a chance tbh.
Although you can say him not voting dan and then saying "he doesnt think the only other player in thr game isnt scum" is weird and a bit scummy but so was his d1 behavior, and everyone is sooo sure he is town.
So heres to hoping. vote dan

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Thank you for choosing
Rodemy Pizza
It’s not the best choice, but it’s a choice nonetheless
So, PBPA then. Is this what ISOs mean now?
#14: RVS. Rodemy is a funny individual.
#15: Setup/theory talk regarding the revealing of neighbors. I don’t have any issue with Rodemy “answering for tom” here, considering it’s a pretty broad question that’s being used to facilitate discussion.
This marks the beginning of the “revealing neighbors are good/bad” saga.
#18 Response to Eco. Tom later comments in #23.
#19: Fluff
#22: Eco points out the difference between “claiming neighbors would be bad” and “claiming neighbors won’t do us any good.” Minute, but functional. First glimpse into Rodemy’s mindset.
24/5: Rodemy expands on his answer regarding neighbor claiming. Surprising here that he didn’t respond to Bur’s point about the reasons people chose their neighbors likely being NAI. It seems like it would support his point.
26-29: First of many small convos between the two of you. Rodemy points out that he didn’t have to think about his choice as town, but I don’t think a confident player would need to do so as scum, either. Regardless, easy line to take considering there’s no pressure to explain why choices were made at this point.
31/32: Eco thinks that Rodemy’s was a nervous reaction, but it didn’t strike me as such. Not really something to get nervous about. More than anything, Rodemy acknowledged that his neighbor told him that the scumteam has daychat. This is a minor townslip. Generally speaking, I’d say that not being aware of the mechanics is normally a scumslip, considering they have less need to be concerned about them with the power to just kill whatever’s in their way. But context.
33: More theory conversation, largely. Rodemy continues to lay it on a bit thick for my taste, but I think this is just his personality coming out in text. He does express suspicion of Tom here. We’ll take note of how this is pursued in the future.
36: Rodemy makes his first really… “wrong” response. Both Tom, Shadow, Bur and myself all chime in on this at various points. Wrong =/= scum.
45-7: Rodemy votes Tom. At the time, this was the best reason anyone had to vote for anyone, given that wrong =/= scum. This seems like scumhunting, and Tom’s deflection in #46 doesn’t really provide any reason to pull off the pedal. But Rodemy unvotes all the same. I’ll call this null, considering the conflicts I have in mindset between the two actions.
52: Acknowledging Eco’s suggestion.
64: Acknowledging my statement. If I were town, I’d want to know what and why I was wrong about here, but letting things unfold is also OK.
65: Querying Eco -> Vezok. Fair question to ask.
69/70/72: Back to should(n’t) we claim something about our neighbors. With each of us having posted at this point, it feels like that’s barking up a dead tree to me as opposed to beginning a new line of discussion. Feels like busywork.
77: This is the first scummy post of Rodemy’s. Screaming appeal to emotion, an overreaction here puts the brakes on Bur’s line of questioning and prompts me to ask for further response from him.
81: Rodemy explains his logic behind the neighbor claim, and why he chose not to pursue it. Also explains why he unvoted Tom in a bit more detail. A bit contradictory in function, but you can argue that the proper mindset is there.
93: Continues to push Tom. There’s a response in the middle here that I feel like I’m missing some context to.
97-110: Provides his early reads. Tom says “no.” Rodemy points out the futility of his efforts, and calls Tom defensive. Tom handwaves. Rodemy pushes further, and after Tom’s explanation of Rodemy’s past efforts, Rodemy backs off.
This is framed as an action that is in the best interest of the town. How? Perhaps this is meta between the two of them I don’t have a full understanding of, but Rodemy clearly has the tenacity to pursue this if he felt so inclined. Instead, a bit of resistance and he put up the white flag.
For other people (read:me) to have caught flak for underdeveloped reads, by comparison this was the most justified read in the game. The two of you clearly had the most interaction in the thread of any two individuals. So why not push it? If this is strictly the product of Rodemy not changing his scumhunting methods over the course of time in this specific role pairing between he and Tom, so be it. But the context around the scumhunting will absolutely change, and that shouldn’t stop him from pursuing something that is a scumtell for him.
111-116: Chatter with Bur about votes on him. I think everyone wanted the answer to this question, but Rodemy got to it first.
122: I would disagree with Rodemy, there is more than enough reason for this question to exist. It shows one’s self-awareness and, by extension, their mindset and perception of how they have impacted the game to that point. In the moment, a bit of chainsawing.
125: Not the first time Rodemy is seeing me as scummy for having a read that disagrees with his own. This is him blowing my reads a bit out of proportion, considering I’ve made no mention of that read developing since Eco initially asked about it.
131: Seemingly waffles on his read of me. First act of following coattails onto the meaningful wagons.
135/40: Holds the status quo regarding Bur/Shadow/Tom, which prompts Tom’s 137. I’m on Rodemy’s side regarding this. Tom is within his rights to ask act how he pleases, and Rodemy is within his to pursue answers. Tom later acknowledges this.
My problem with this interaction is that it’s just further reason that Rodemy should be voting for Tom, by all reason. By comparison, there wasn’t any friction when he later votes for Vezok in 147. It goes without saying that scum are less likely to push wagons that they think will have a hard time gaining traction.
151-169: Random one-line posts about neighbors. 161 does point out that he’s caught Tom in an inconsistency, and 167 claims without Shadow’s(apparent) consent.
171: reads. I like these reads. I used them as comparison against Vezok’s.
188: Calls Vezok wrong. Vezok lobbed that one up.
194-208: Pushes Tom for a further read on Vezok. Multiple of us established that a scum’s pick of another individual likely clears the townmember that was picked.
216: Fluff
218-226: Makes his feelings about Shadow clear. Votes in reaction to the jailer claim. Following the line he has laid out.
229: Begins to make plans with Vezok. I have no issues with the unvote here. What I do have issue with is the interaction afterward. Having done a very similar thing before, this feels like interaction with scum just to say you’ve done it.
239-248: Rodemy votes for Eco, not believing the CC. A few people explain why Rodemy is likely incorrect. Is this him trying to keep his buddy alive to put the town into LyLo tomorrow?
257: I can’t actually tell who this is in response to. Me? Bur? Eco? All three of us could be considered as “throwing shade” here. More importantly, he chose not go into detail as to why the arguments against Eco were more sufficient grounds for lynching. This is also another wagon he has chosen to be the second person on.
258: Observes that Shadow isn’t posting. Fair point.
260/61: Again, drops his argument in the face of a bit of resistance.
266-71: Incorrect theory on multiple levels here. The jailer gets a chance to single-handedly WIN THE GAME. It gives you a flip that allows you to try and find the other scum member based off of alignment-confirmed interactions.
288: Restates his opinion on me
*cue d2 quicklynch*
tl;dr
Creates the line for me very early off of an incorrect assumption and holds to it over the course of the game.
Doesn't persist on any wagons that receive resistance.
Develops a justifiable read against Tom and then doesn't follow through, but immediately 180s onto Vezok when another analyst provides a window of opportunity.
Convenient and minor interactions with Vezok.
Never actually posits any real reason as to why he thinks I'm scum, and simply snowballs the original, faulty complaint.
Perhaps this is through a conf bias lens and *****
But it looks like a well formed and well thought attempt to seem solvey
It's too impartial where town Dan would know what he was supposed to be seeing.
And again it's not bad short of
If this is strictly the product of Rodemy not changing his scumhunting methods over the course of time in this specific role pairing between he and Tom, so be it.
Which takes it too far in that us being v/v is literally not possible from his "pov" but really that's not a big deal and yeah that post was fine but rodemy is town
L.B. (Jeff) Jefferies you are a skilled photographer who just has a bit of trouble moving around right now. You're a bit nosy, but your neighbors will mostly forgive that given your awesome photography chops.

Hello Rodemy,
As Mr. Rodgers you are the friendliest, most neighborly neighbor of all the neighbors. You made it cool to want to be a neighbor, had a fascinating love of toy trains, and a killer cardigan collection.
You are Vanilla Town

Hello tomsloger,
You are Smokey; you're a bit down on your luck. Sure you like the herb, but who doesn't? It's not your fault you're short a couple Benjamins because you smoked what you should have sold. Doesn't make you a bad guy, just unlucky.
You are Vanilla Town

Good luck!
Hello Bur,
As Arabella Doreen Figg you're almost anonymous but you have a secret. You're a witch! Well a squibb at least, but that counts. You're reliable and and trusted by some very poweful people.
You are Vanilla Town

Hello Ecophagy,
You're Samwise Gamgee, a trusty reliable sort of chap. The kind who'd go the extra mile to help a friend who is feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders. Sure you're more a employee than a neighbor, but you do live in the same neck of the woods, so it counts.
You are Town Jailkeeper
Each night you may target 1 player. During that night that player cannot perform any actions and will be protected from any killing actions targeting that player.

Hello Dan,
You are Alf Stewart. You're a venerable patriarch of an Aussie family that can never escape drama. You've had some many brushes with death in you're long, windy, drama filled life. Thankfully no one actually knows you because no one watches your show actually talks to you.

Hello Vezokpiraka,
You are Woodrow W. Wilson (Wilson) Jr. and you're a bit shy, but you're always ready with some sage advice. Your neighbors might not recognize you walking down the street, but they've all come to you asking for a tip or two before.

Good luck!
I've already shared some of my thoughts in the dead chat but I want to expand on some of them here. First town played this really well. The tom/eco/shadow triangle of chats gave them a lot of insight and control over the game. For example tom and Eco were both more suspicious of Rodemy in the early going but Shadow based off his chat was working hard to try and clear Rod to them. And then using the chats to clear Shadow with the JK N2 worked really well for town.
What didn't work this game? Well quite a few things unfortunately. First and most obviously the flavor. I tried for a weird mismatch of TV and movie references and wanted to write some lighthearted scenes to accompany it. Unfortunately I lacked the skill/nerve to actually put out what I was writing. It was bad and not funny and I knew it. Could have posted it anyway but I also was struggling to write it in the first place and found it easier just to drop it and punt on flavor. Also on flavor I wanted to put a character from this long running Australian soap opera neighbors in, but I got my long running Aussie soaps mixed up and put a character from Home and Away in instead. Oops >_>
On the game function itself my refusal to use IC's made this game entirely too swingy. Ecophagy has some really good points about this in the dead chat, but basically the JK is useless if town doesn't lynch scum D1. It can be CC'd after that in LyLo which undermines it's impact as an anchor, and blocking a kill doesn't even extend the game a phase. It worked out very well for town this game with the Claim and CC coming in D1 and town lynching scum over the JK allowing a clear, but this was pretty much the absolute best case scenario for it.
The other major problems with this game revolved around the chats. First it was inherently more fun for some players because they had more chats. There was a popularity contest aspect to the game and having 3 chats makes the game a lot more fun than just having one. Second the chats depressed in thread activity especially for people with multiple chats exacerbating the previous problem for people with only one chat. Games should be fun and I'm a bit disappointed this game was inherently less fun for some people because of the set up (going beyond some people hating rolling scum). I don't regret this game at all and very much enjoyed reading this and do think this was a fun game overall, I'd just be reluctant to run this set up back even if the swinginess was addressed.
Hope everyone had a good time! I really enjoyed reading this game, thanks for playing everyone!
I was trying to make that seem as town-minded as possible, but PBPAs are not my strong suit. By pointing out positives from Rodemy's early game, I hoped to sell the point that I was looking at this from as unbiased of a perspective as possible, instead of just trying to repeatedly drive the point that "RODEMY HAS TO BE SCUM." I think the combination of my showing up late and not just saying "I have no reads 60ish posts into this game" put me a tad behind the 8-ball from the get-go. But I had lurkers to hide behind. I don't push wagons enough as scum.
Tom, in the bit you quoted, are you saying that at the time in the game, town v town wasn't possible? Or the time of writing?
Grape, I thought the game was fun! It was a nice change of pace from the games I usually play, and I love neighbors. I really did want to pick Eco, but my goal was to learn more about Bur for the future. Shame about him not really being super active.
@dan: You're faltering was the problem. From your perspective Rodemy had to be scum. You shouldn't have shown any mercy. Take commas and periods and say that it only what scum would've done. Anything you can think of.

Thanks to DNC at Heroes of the plane studios for this awesome sig and SGT_Chubbz for the awesome avy. Check out the Shop Thread
Thanks Dan! I love neighbors and secret chats too! My first ever game was as a mason and it sparked a love for out of thread talks and sharing of ideas. They can add so much to a game.
I was basically saying what vezok said you were trying to be unbiased when you should have been. Town you would habe known it was rodemy and would have been looking for a way to prove it, not trying to figure it out
Didn't matter a lot I told shadow of do due diligence but I was pretty sure it wasn't rodemy.
Specifically vezok talking about rodemys derp when I asked him in the hood was more meaningful to me than even the derp clear itself
Gg! Yay, this is my first win with the alignment i rolled in.. over a year?
Feels good.
Thanks to eco for stickin with me even though i tried to get him lynched. ( i hope my poemology was good for ya)
Tom for pushing me in the right direction, and shadow for.. shadowing.
GG Town, although it took longer than necessary. I had fun crushing the scum team and talking in my chats (which I'm happy to have released). Thanks for hosting Grapefruit!
@Dan: You have now consumed the benefit of the doubt. Next time I see you make convenient reads for weird/bad reasons I will probably lynch you. I would also say that what brought me around to you being my #1 not-Shadow scum read was that you persisted having the conversation about those reads with the attitude of "man I really don't want to have to make or think about reads" long after those reads and that discussion was relevant. You were fixating on an easy, outdated conversation to have instead of scumhunting.
@Bur: Disappointing play. Just because the game appeared to be on lock doesn't justify throwing the scum an easy mislynch and adding nothing to the game. Even if you were prepared to accept your lynch (which I think is still debatable because the game wasn't guaranteed locked), you should have at least posted some analysis of the remaining players (especially Dan). Just saying "ok I looked at the thread and it's Dan peace out" is not enough and you know it.
Besides tom. I have this feeling in the back of my head that says vezok could have just chosen his scum partner, but i was wrong about eco.. WHICH REMINDS ME.
Dearest brit whose name is Eco
Sorry i thought you were being sneako
Vezoks dead, but so are you.
Boo hoo hoo. Boo hoo hoo.
I was wrong about you, friend.
Lets hope town wins this in the end
Hang them high from a real tall tree
This a poem, love Rodemy.
Apology accepted. I was starting to reach a point where I was going to advise you to take whatever your current thought was and then do the exact opposite, but you redeemed yourself by not falling to paranoia about Tom on the final Day so good job.
I was trying to make that seem as town-minded as possible, but PBPAs are not my strong suit. Also, I hate rolling scum.
What.
@Eco: Yeah, yeah. I know.
@tom: I'm really curious what did you expect to be town!Bur reaction to having two votes on them that you and shadow pulled day...

Also modgaming Bur setups is kind of treading down a dark path
@Eco: I'm not sure what Town!Dan would've said differently there.
I think that sometimes people get too hung up on what they would say or do if they were town rather than would could be said or done to actually look town - and that holds for people playing both alignments. It doesn't really matter what town Dan would have said - the town thing to do would be to say "ok maybe my reads aren't that great, let's go double check them with new information and/or find some better ones", so you should have done that.
I'm ready for the hammer now.
I'm gonna guess in the meanwhile, though, that no one has a case of substance against either Bur or myself?
Bur (3): tomsloger, shadowlancerx, Rodemy
Note voting 2: Bur, Ganderin_Dan
Bur has been lynched. He was Arabella Doreen Figg Vanilla Town.
Day 3 will start on 12:01 a.m. EST Monday the 23rd.
It is now D3. With 3 alive it takes 2 to lynch.
You have 1 week.
Dan you got anything to say?
Still don't think it's rod...
So heres to hoping.
vote dan
Though
I really want to
Neat.
It is dan.
Lets finish this excellenr game.
Ooooo wonchyu be my neighbor
And share with me this flavor
Of ice cream it's good
All up in this hood
Lynch dan and do me a favor
Oooo wonchyu kill your neighbor
With kindness, you goof, and savor
The friendships you have
with your mom or your dad
But not dan, he is a traitor.
I suppose this is the part where I present a coherent, well-developed case against Rodemy to save the town, right?
I'm gonna need a day to accomplish such things, if you'll give it to me.
But i reread day 1 last night and it's not lookin good for ol dan
Lol. "I need day to come up with a way to paint rodemy as scum"
He'll use my interactions with tom. My vote unvote to be precise. My hammer on bur (even though bur was like "hammer me bro")
My uncertainty about vezok might bring a good light painting.
And the fact i hammered bur while thinking he was scum. I was okay with either. Town wins either way.
Tom, i wanna hear this actually, but we've won this.
Who tried the hardest he can
To paint me as scum
But he is a bum
His efforts are null, k fam?

L.B. (Jeff) Jefferies you are a skilled photographer who just has a bit of trouble moving around right now. You're a bit nosy, but your neighbors will mostly forgive that given your awesome photography chops.
You are Vanilla Town

Good luck!
As Mr. Rodgers you are the friendliest, most neighborly neighbor of all the neighbors. You made it cool to want to be a neighbor, had a fascinating love of toy trains, and a killer cardigan collection.

You are Smokey; you're a bit down on your luck. Sure you like the herb, but who doesn't? It's not your fault you're short a couple Benjamins because you smoked what you should have sold. Doesn't make you a bad guy, just unlucky.

As Arabella Doreen Figg you're almost anonymous but you have a secret. You're a witch! Well a squibb at least, but that counts. You're reliable and and trusted by some very poweful people.

You are Mafia Goon

Hello Vezokpiraka,
You are Woodrow W. Wilson (Wilson) Jr. and you're a bit shy, but you're always ready with some sage advice. Your neighbors might not recognize you walking down the street, but they've all come to you asking for a tip or two before.

Also, I hate rolling scum.
Thanks to DNC at Heroes of the plane studios for this awesome sig and SGT_Chubbz for the awesome avy.

At the time
I was basically saying what vezok said you were trying to be unbiased when you should have been.
Feels good.
Thanks to eco for stickin with me even though i tried to get him lynched. ( i hope my poemology was good for ya)
Tom for pushing me in the right direction, and shadow for.. shadowing.
♡
Apology accepted. I was starting to reach a point where I was going to advise you to take whatever your current thought was and then do the exact opposite, but you redeemed yourself by not falling to paranoia about Tom on the final Day so good job.
But yes, gotta tone down that paranoia.
What.
@Eco: Yeah, yeah. I know.
@tom: I'm really curious what did you expect to be town!Bur reaction to having two votes on them that you and shadow pulled day...
