DBS is actively hunting(Though hunting the low posters). And I think she reads almost exactly like ZE well end game ZE.
gonna strongly disagree here. I've been through 3.5 portholes to the past and she's literally least similar to ZE than the others.
It certainly doesn't make it a lock but meta pushes me pretty far from this read
Tom - the weather quirk and his willing to examine all the available evidence reads townie to me.
Grapefruit maybe? I know I voted for him originally but he comes across as being pretty solvey.
Kami, has very detailed answers for their suspicions and explains it very clearly.
I confess, not knowing anyone here; definitely has me at a great disadvantage.

please answer my question.
I'm pushing Rodemy for not pushing his scumleans, and parking on a neutral while looking busy(anything that wasn't his scumleans), then saying scum wants to kill a neutral so we should lynch them first - AKA let's protect the neutral from scum so we can lynch him instead. I don't see the town sense here.

What I'm actually most concerned with rn is az's townread of dawning. He's extremely outspoken in the "scum attacks different instead of scummy" and him townreading dawning this game, especially after ze, is possibly the biggest "az isn't assessing the game" tell I've ever seen from him.
I guess it fits with neutral, but definitely more so with scum az I think.

I'll reiterate, but I don't trust Azreal either.
He pulled this in Mindscrew, and in another game I'm blanking now. Was it VR Salvation?
I know DC pulled a similar move in VR as well.

@Nancy: Haven't seen a post from you since page 2 the thread. Starting to wonder if you're still with us, or just watching? There's a lot of unanswered questions that have been lobbed your way. I know RL is a thing, but care to toss us some answers so we can alleviate some suspicion levied your direction?
I would love to; I'm having trouble following this game tbh. I'm used to playing games with 2-4 deaths (1-2 lynches and 1-2 NKs) every 72 hours. I'm just very confused. *sigh*
I confess; I have never ever liked D1 and can't wait for D2; when I actually feel I actually have some real knowledge to work with.

Day one was a total mess. The posting style is much more like the end game(IE clearer to read). Day one DBS got pushed for similar reasons IIRC.

Anyway this is all stuff I've said before. Each time in different ways. I'm out of ways to say it. And really there's no point in saying it to you because you're probably just scum and impossible to convince anyway.
first off, shutting me off as "you're scum so you can't be convinced" is a lazy excuse. if you don't want to hash it out, and are just playing this game for brownie points, that is rude. this is a social game, and you practically agreed to handle these confrontations by joining.
You're right it's lazy but you still didn't really reply to any of my points. I don't know how else to explain that I think your push on Rodemy is scummy and your stance on Az is scummy.
My thoughts are developing naturally. Maybe I've failed to portray them naturally. I don't know. As for forcing views that's kind of the game. Convincing people that your view is the correct one. Just like you're forcing the idea that Rod is scummy for wanting to lynch Az over a scum lean. If he'd said scum read then I'd be right there with you, but he didn't.
I agree that bitter victories aren't great. But we're stuck in a loop where you think your opinion about Rod is valid and that I'm scummy or causing an unfun gamestate by trying to convince you otherwise.
now, has Rodemy questioned Shadow or Kamikaze yet? he seems to be sourcing his reads from the work/interactions of others, not his own. I have yet to see any original (as in sourced from himself) interactions for his reads. he had scumleans, so why didn't he pursue them? it's fine if he doesn't want to question because of limited time, he could've just left his vote/pressure on them for others to sort out. voting a neutral doesn't solve anything. I might be absent from this thread, for the most part, but I leave my vote on someone who I suspect is scum - it is standard procedure.the fact of the matter is in that vote of his, which wasn't on a scumlean but a neutral. he should clarify that. it isn't your place to claim his mindset for him. you aren't him.
He did, he left it on me. You're right he should clarify it, but given his townie behavior I don't see reason to assume he's scummy. But again we disagree on Rod and well I know your stance on overriding others opinions. >_>
[quote]according to Azrael, he will win when he has reached a threshold, which is already an appointed time. I don't remember seeing anyone saying they will leave him alive to achieve his wincon. so yes, others intend to lynch him on an appointed Day - the Day before he wins. my thoughts are less ridiculous though, just leave him alive if we have options. I'm totally fine with him achieving his claimed wincon. is that fencesitting? if I was scum, and such a wincon dropped in, I imagine I would push town to lynch him so I can save my NK for dangerous town + waste town's Day. which is more logical?
Do you actually know how Az's role works? Because this suggests you don't
@DV: Okay, so let me provide some clarity for you because I can kind of see now why were are so at odds. The reason I believe your comment to be shading Dawning is because you asserted that she’s clear while still casting doubt upon the reasons that Rhand at least had cleared her, while simultaneously saying Rhand was clear for it.
It actually kind of makes sense coming from you, because I’ve seen the same type of comments come from you in the past, and have gotten used to your play in general. But on the whole, it is a post that as a general rule I think falls into the category of “useful for scum talking about town without eliminating a mislynch”.
Regarding the “call a spade a spade” comment; it was never about dawning’s alignment, it was about grapefruit in ze. Dawning suggested that me being scum in ze meant that I couldn’t fairly judge grapefruit’s behavior as being townie, and I reject that because I think regardless of my alignment I could still judge grape’s behavior well enough to say he was objectively townie there (and I think he is here too).
Questions for you:
-Were you always planning to reveal yourself at some point?
-How much of a plan did you have for this game when you signed up?
-Do you think revealing yourself is particularly AI one way or another (ie would you have been more likely to do so as town, or use it as a way to get town read, or lower the pressure as scum)?

No
Zero real plan. Was looking for something, hard to explain. More casual.
I didn't really want to because I felt like it might just get me free read(Which I wanted to avoid). But I felt like it would diffuse and explain some things.
I almost want to say the entire scum team is below Rhand.
One wolf in the top posters. I mean... Azreal is 6th highest. Our Neutral.
Cause we have Shadow Tom ME DBS in descending order, then running up the rear with almost half the posts of these four is Kamikaze. Then everyone else. We got lurkers a plenty. OH MAN.
Now that ZE is finally over, I submit the guaranteed MTGS patented lynch strategy. Lynch lurkers. Specifically lynch replacements.
almost literally for no reason
And didn't even try to do anything with it.
But DBS just did the same thing in zero escape too, right?
She was under serious pressure and about to be lynched there. Shinichi was the one who claimed for no reason and did nothing with it. Or maybe Last. One of the brothers.
She's just not interacting with the journey at all, just out of context playstyle pushes. Vastly different from the gamestate reads and interwoven pushes of ze
I need to get back to my metaphors and away from this interacting this is not what I want to be doing right now.
I've spent a bunch of time in the past and this is closer to dawning's scumgame. Nothing obvious, but see my story I've talked about it plenty.
DV I'm theoretically an expert and I'm at "low confidence town"
Shadow I'm certainly not an expert but probably >randscum by a small amount there's cause for concern and I'm in my own little world looking at different things than anyone else and idk
Az I'm thinking something like 70-25-5 nuetral-scum-town based on the way he claimed and what he's done so far.
Not really sure I can or want to explain these reads further, metaphors or no.
As the sun passed it's peak much of the scene was lit, but pools of shadow still concealed some. Nancy hadn't begun to take shape at all, and rodemy/archmage still quite hard to make out in uneven light.

Yes this post was abrasive, but I'm trying.
this post comes off fine. no worries.
1-2. the loop can be resolved if you let me get my answers. you should understand that your answer won't be satisfactory for me since my question/suspicion is directed towards someone else. anyone who avoids answering to suspicions are not helping town and might as well be lynched. is this fair enough?
3. he has been dodging the matter, and his scumleans. I don't see town in it. I can hold off if you tell me what your read on him is - if Rodemy is null to you, or you can't explain other than tone or gut feeling, sorry but I don't put stock in it. you shouldn't defend others too much unless you got a solid read on them (like me with Last in ZE). defending others without a clear reason is redundant, and disturbs the questioning process for nothing.
I have out-argued scum before, so you shouldn't worry about convincing. the truth always becomes apparent.
4. Azrael said he wins with town, or if he collects x number of souls(and that ability is triggered by a night action)? I forgot the math to win though.

"I still remember the days I prayed for the things I have now.
So I will also admit to being a new player. The only experience I have with the game is so far in table-top versions of similar games. My greatest expertise so far is with Ultimate One-Night Werewolf. Not quite on the same tier here. Study in cold-reading helps me a lot in the personal games, but online, everything is skewed and tossed about in a way that makes it harder to understand. I know this question wasn't asked of me, but I'll just get this out there. I didn't come in with a plan other than "play the role you were dealt." I read the rules, and I jumped right in while listening to people. I generally believe Kami is town, because in the past I have never seen him play a scum role that he has put in this much investigation on... but I generally avoid commenting on him because of our offline association so I trust him to do a good job of keeping his own head above water.
That all being the lead in to this: I disagree with everything Nobue/DV is still doing/has done. Her scum leans and responses are never for a real reason, but just a retaliation should anyone say anything cross about her. Nearly every vote I've seen from her is: "I don't like that you said *blank* about me, vote you." When it felt like things were headed in the direction of taking her to the lynch point, she got volatile and rude, which the mods stepped in and asked to stop. I want this to be clear, this isn't meant to attack the player so much as this 'character' they were role playing.
Her next step after returning was to swap accounts, replace herself? with another name and "suddenly be more reasonable." But I don't see it. Aside from the Archer .gifs, it feels the same. A series of lashing out at anyone who might call her behavior into question, circling the same lines of conversation and deciding that things like her initial defensiveness should be called out by saying "I'm being defensive because I'm being called defensive." The sudden latch onto Dawning also doesn't strike me as a normal bit of help to a typical person's behavior. Now there's a lot of possible explanations... I'm sure if I had to make something up on the spot as a scum player I could... but so far I just do not see it.
Now, I have heard the trappings of getting yourself completely dead-set on a single target and not looking to other possible solutions, but I am not seeing a reason here. Day 1 with so much wild accusation in the air, the only one I see that just continually jumps out is the one whose entire play has been, "No I'm not. You are." Summed up, that is nearly every play from Nobue/DV. There's a couple more in there, including this most recent trend of latching onto someone who I think is getting poorly accused and focused in Dawning. While I am not as confident on my Dawning read as I am on my Nobue/DV read, I am still pretty confident in it.
I do hope however that it's not a common play in the future to just "replace yourself" with a new personality to wash suspicion from yourself... because nearly nothing has changed since the "replacement".
Final points and the tl;dr version:
Nobue/DV is scum. Vote D_V (If my vote wasn't clear enough before, I'll switch it to the "replacement" name and make it quite clear.)
@DBS you've completely and totally misunderstood Az's role. He wins by surviving. Doesn't matter if it's a town or scum win. He also wins at the exclusion of all others if he collects 10 souls (claimed). He collects souls by hammering and by targeting people with a nightly ability (he can't target himself). He gains abilities at certain thresholds of souls. Becoming BP at 6 I think. This is why the "Az can't hammer" standard was developed.
So if we prevent him from 3 hammers he is no longer able to cause us to lose the game. That was kind of the point of kill him if he hammers.
Now that you have the relevant information do still want to handle him the same way?
Maybe I'm reading the game differently but Rodemy hasn't been dodging anything. I just checked his iso and I don't see anything that I'd consider a dodge. Anyway I like to defend null reads if I think the push is bad. And given Rodemy's meta I think this push is bad. More I thought it insinuated an agenda but you fundamentally misread Az's role completely so I have no idea what to make of your play considering your main reads are built around people's reactions to his role. Of course you're going to have more of a problem with people wanting to lynch Az when you misunderstood his role and thought it was more town friendly than it was. Come D3 it might be as benign as you made it out to be but right now he needs to prove it. Going to unvote while I figure out if your play makes town sense from the POV of thinking Az is categorically not a threat.
Unvote
@Kazin I agree that replacing your alt account with yourself is something that should be frowned upon in general, but I don't see it as scummy. Your point about singular focus is interesting and worth looking at. I'll try to reread later. I let myself go down a rabbit hole.
I don't even understand how Kazin can say I've done the same stuff at all.
Kazin can you make a quote of me doing what you said after I swapped? You said I've lashed out and done the same stuff. I don't think you can prove that at all.

Iirc, tapping was vanilla town with weird cutscenes that, in theory, proved he didn't do anything at night
This happened during day though, about halfway through.
NVM found it. Doesn't help he was ModKilled. Didn't remember the role. Surprised you did.
Jack, Genetically Engineered Genius
You are Jack, a patient at the Federation Mental Institute, committed seemingly for life because the genetic modifications you received as a child increased your intelligence so much that you were deemed to be a threat to society just by sheer ability to overachieve. As a result, you haven’t picked up the social interaction skills that most other people have & haven’t been allowed to apply yourself in any relevant positions in society… and it shows. Really. You don’t like all the rules there are to polite life… “There are rules! Don't talk with your mouth full. Don't open an airlock when someone's inside it. And don't lie about your genetic status.”
Role: Town Lunatic
Species: Human male (genetically enhanced)
Unbalanced — Whenever you’re the target of a night ability, if you survive to daybreak, you will be depicted in the daybreak scene as having done something antisocial instead of sleeping. This will not depict you as having done anything scummy, but rather maladjusted to life in the 24th century. You might run around town naked screaming “the end is near” or you might just get drunk & pass out after pissing on someone’s front door. (Flavor reference: DS9: Statistical Probabilities; role reference: Guardman and Cyouni in Annorax’s Bastard Mod Mafia!)
Now that ZE is finally over, I submit the guaranteed MTGS patented lynch strategy. Lynch lurkers. Specifically lynch replacements.
*cough* you're a replacement.
lynching lurkers is always an option. and I wonder if this is enforced in MTGS, why Rodemy is handled so delicately. turns out I'm seeing similar bias in handling you, now that you've revealed yourself. I guess this is another learning experience. Rodemy hasn't done much though, while you have.
I've spent a bunch of time in the past and this is closer to dawning's scumgame. Nothing obvious, but see my story I've talked about it plenty.
#577 is a good post from you. and this is an interesting observation. iirc anyone who saw my scumgames thought that my future games resembled them (even Last in ZE). plot twist: I don't have a definite meta/tell for scumgames yet.
you could be town with this line of thought.
this brings me to an impasse.. maybe Tom/Shadow are like Iso/Azrael in ZE? maybe. I've outlined why I think Shadow is town, and now this from you. not gonna put stock in it yet, but will take a step back.
Going to unvote while I figure out if your play makes town sense from the POV of thinking Az is categorically not a threat.
hmm.. why did he mention an alternate wincon then? don't remember him mentioning a BP ability, only that he wish he had it. but this clears things up. if BP is the case, I imagine scum would find more benefit in leaving him alive for stray vote or free lynch fodder.
still don't see why Rodemy would imply that Nobue is scum for planning to target Azrael. if anything it would mean 'she' is town. scum wouldn't waste actions on a neutral regardless. as for #58, with this recent understanding, I can see his vote as a good placeholder now, but he still didn't pursue his scum leads.
with everything said, I've gathered that DV and Rodemy are considered antitown players and are being kept alive with kiddy gloves. there won't be a loss if either one was lynched. hence, as easy mislynch targets, I would rather focus elsewhere, for now. I might start with Archmage, since he should be experienced with handling Rodemy but votes him? reassessment required anyways.
Vote: Archmage Eternal
might. maybe. possibly. go back to Rodemy. but I hate tunnels.
not sure what the D1 announcement is, but it looks like something common in town roles (like IC).

Quote from Azreal »
Exhibit A: As scum, cardinal rule of mislynches is to get the town to lynch people who are odd, instead of scummy. It's both very easy to do, and the town is usually inclined to give the scum a completely free pass for what is an actual mislynch. So, when dealing with someone who is a good potential victim for this tactic, emphasize their "weirdness", without explaining how what they're doing is a scum tell or makes any sense from a scum-motivated perspective.
Lurkers are best left to vigs. Lynching a lurker day 1 doesn't give too much info. Pressuring lrukers though is a good idea, but we need to coordinate for this.

I'm pushing Rodemy for not pushing his scumleans, and parking on a neutral while looking busy(anything that wasn't his scumleans), then saying scum wants to kill a neutral so we should lynch them first - AKA let's protect the neutral from scum so we can lynch him instead. I don't see the town sense here.
that post I pulled out is more of a support to my original case of #58. was checking his ISO.
Be grateful, always."
Can you link me like a few phrazes( ) which indicate this?
I guess it fits with neutral, but definitely more so with scum az I think.
The "forced to claim" knee jerk white knighting was weird af
I'll reiterate, but I don't trust Azreal either.
He pulled this in Mindscrew, and in another game I'm blanking now. Was it VR Salvation?
I know DC pulled a similar move in VR as well.
You keep explaining why he's different from your scummy ass and that makes him scum for [reasons don't exist]
I've looked at what she posted. I got a different interpretation I was wondering if you could link some specific examples.
Kamikaze is now tangled rigging. Could resolve itself if the wind shifts but could stay entwined keeping our sails from taking us where we need to go.
Nancy I'm not really sure. Not seeing the reasons people want to send her off the plank. Mostly activity based? Seems bad.
DV probably just want to set sail anew. Gut not liking the pushing for people swimming away, but okay with the pressure response.
She's just not interacting with the journey at all, just out of context playstyle pushes. Vastly different from the gamestate reads and interwoven pushes of ze
In this case. Can we really say that though?
Day one was a total mess. The posting style is much more like the end game(IE clearer to read). Day one DBS got pushed for similar reasons IIRC.
town
Shadow - I'm familiar with that waffly paranoia and restrain on voting me. scum usually just vote without the unnecessary stress.
Rhand - he didn't jump on my claim, and I'd imagine wasting town's lynch on protective is too good to pass.

You're right it's lazy but you still didn't really reply to any of my points. I don't know how else to explain that I think your push on Rodemy is scummy and your stance on Az is scummy.
I agree that bitter victories aren't great. But we're stuck in a loop where you think your opinion about Rod is valid and that I'm scummy or causing an unfun gamestate by trying to convince you otherwise.
He did, he left it on me. You're right he should clarify it, but given his townie behavior I don't see reason to assume he's scummy. But again we disagree on Rod and well I know your stance on overriding others opinions. >_>
Do you actually know how Az's role works? Because this suggests you don't
Yes this post was abrasive, but I'm trying.
But DBS just did the same thing in zero escape too, right?
No
Zero real plan. Was looking for something, hard to explain. More casual.
I didn't really want to because I felt like it might just get me free read(Which I wanted to avoid). But I felt like it would diffuse and explain some things.
I get town read for things others get scum read for. IE I'd like to improve my game.
That's more of the goal, but this got... Out of control.
She was under serious pressure and about to be lynched there. Shinichi was the one who claimed for no reason and did nothing with it. Or maybe Last. One of the brothers.
Not really sure I can or want to explain these reads further, metaphors or no.

this post comes off fine. no worries.
1-2. the loop can be resolved if you let me get my answers. you should understand that your answer won't be satisfactory for me since my question/suspicion is directed towards someone else. anyone who avoids answering to suspicions are not helping town and might as well be lynched. is this fair enough?
3. he has been dodging the matter, and his scumleans.
Be grateful, always."
@Kazin I agree that replacing your alt account with yourself is something that should be frowned upon in general, but I don't see it as scummy. Your point about singular focus is interesting and worth looking at. I'll try to reread later. I let myself go down a rabbit hole.
I'm defensive.
I've focused on information about myself.(There hasn't been a lot going on in this game so I'm not certain what else I'm supposed to do).
Kazin, you miss understand my point by a mile. Defensiveness isn't a scum tell. That's the point. It is a silly attack on me.
Replacement had nothing to do with that at all. That is a huge misrepresentation.
You are single-mindedly focused and need to broaden your horizons.
I don't even understand how Kazin can say I've done the same stuff at all.
Kazin can you make a quote of me doing what you said after I swapped? You said I've lashed out and done the same stuff. I don't think you can prove that at all.

A privateer ship is approaching!
"Kazin Drake, Fire the Cannons!" someone roars.
Kazin Drake quickly nods, runs over to the cannon, loads a cannonball, lights the fuse, and plugs his ears - but nothing happens.
Confused, he opens the cannon hatch. The gunpowder explodes in his face as the cannonball is launched into the privateer ship. The enemy ship sinks.

This happened during day though, about halfway through.
Maybe just flavor?
(Flavor reference: DS9: Statistical Probabilities; role reference: Guardman and Cyouni in Annorax’s Bastard Mod Mafia!)
lynching lurkers is always an option. and I wonder if this is enforced in MTGS, why Rodemy is handled so delicately. turns out I'm seeing similar bias in handling you, now that you've revealed yourself. I guess this is another learning experience. Rodemy hasn't done much though, while you have.
#577 is a good post from you. and this is an interesting observation. iirc anyone who saw my scumgames thought that my future games resembled them (even Last in ZE). plot twist: I don't have a definite meta/tell for scumgames yet.
