He's way too happy with what he perceives as a bad response.
I guess it could be town being happy they caught scum, but he can't be sure enough of that to be this happy about it.
Way more likely he's scum being happy that this mislynch is in the bag. Which ironically isn't going to happen now.
Aside from that, everything in this game besides Omnom's claim is forgettable. Literally everything.
This is true.
What do you make of Tom's play despite the gimmick? You were in the alara game with him so you might have a better prospective, but I'm not really getting any town feelings from him right now. And his sitting on Blues is weirding me out.
I am back - no power/internet at home at the moment, so I'm accessing this from work.
I've taken a look through the entire topic again, and am honestly starting to think that we've got a Tom/Nobue scumteam.
Nobue was quite willing to vote me up based on my comments towards Omnom and Tom - I can understand wanting more detail regarding my initial comment, but he justified the vote by saying my post was 'an extreme overreaction'. I can't see where he's coming up with that, as my post was barely a reaction at all - just a comment that the claim made little sense at the time. When I provided more detail on my line of thought, he replied with this:
They complained about WIFOM loops then attempted to WIFOM loop themselves.
Seems like a good lynch
Yes, if I complain about a WIFOM loop, I'm going to explain the WIFOM loop I'm seeing which is causing the confusion. This is exactly why I was trying to get other people's opinions on Omnom to begin with, because I considered my own opinion suspect at the time and figured someone else might be able to provide me with perspective. Nobue's somehow turning this into a scumtell, though? And the fact that he's been selectively looking at myself and Grape, and not even mentioning anything from anyone else's posts (except Rhand), makes me think of either tunneled town or scum trying to force a mislynch.
@Nobue_Itoh: You're currently at L-1. I don't want to hammer you without the opportunity to defend yourself, so feel free to post whatever rebuttals you'd like to my points (and anyone else's) within the next hours - if I don't hear from you by 3PM EST, then that's when I'll post the vote.
Unvote
Regarding Tom... the whole gimmick posting he's doing bugs me, because he's able to avoid providing any real opinions, and cannot elaborate on his opinions effectively due to the 'post restriction' that he's under. It's left to us to try and decipher the meaning of whatever quotes he puts forth - and then, if his posting does result in a mislynch, he can try to claim that it's because we didn't interpret the quotes he posted properly. His posting pattern makes me think he's scum as well, given that he's backed Nobue the entire time (or perhaps vice-versa, since he did vote before Nobue), but I am far less certain because I can't tell what he's really thinking - again, because he's masking his thoughts behind that gimmick.
@HarshMillenium: Mostly unrelated, but I claimed at the time I did because I was uncertain what impact the hurricane would have on me - if the wagon had stayed on me, I may not have had another opportunity to get a defense or claim in.
Aside from that, everything in this game besides Omnom's claim is forgettable. Literally everything.

Which alara game?
Sorry that was not specific, I call it the alara game in my head for tom speaking entirely in flavor text. I'm not sure why and forgot about ongoing games with similar names. I meant the cult one you were in.

I see nothing of merit to dispute for my case. I simply see a large logical fallacy.
The case against me is tone. I'm confidant I've caught wolf. Just like Tom is, but no one is scum reading him for it. Furthermore Rhand is confidant that my confidence makes me wolf. See the irony yet?
It is a laughable joke of a case, and I'm amazed anyone thinks that the logic makes sense. Furthermore Rhand makes the claim I am confidant because I'm wolf that knows alignments. But I'm not claiming anyone is wold, I'm claiming they are wolf. His argument might make sense if I was claiming someone is wold since I would know who was who as scum.
I get why Tom hasn't disputed this case, but I don't get why anyone else has. I'd love to make this a wolf tell, but since everyone is following it I guess we got a lot of new mafia players here.
Well... I did offer Nobue the chance to put up a defense - instead, he just comes in with the argument of 'No, nothing that was said against me matters at all'. That's not an argument. The case against him is not tone - I provided the points earlier regarding why it is that I suspected him. I offered him the opportunity to defend himself.
You're sitting at L-1. Whether you agree with it or not, you're on the chopping block, and I'm holding the axe. I asked you to provide me with a reason to hold off - some form of defense. Instead, you chose simply to say 'Nah, bro, you don't have a case'. No claim, no defense, just a casual dismissal of some of the other arguments against you and not even a mention of my own arguments against you. That doesn't offer anything to change my opinion - if I'm wrong, so be it, but I don't believe I am.
Vote: Nobue_Itoh
As far as Tom is concerned... that link he provided doesn't do anything except support the points I was making. I'm not sure what the point of it was. And without knowing whether this is a mod-enforced posting restriction or not, I can't determine whether Tom's abiding by rules set forth for him, or just using this gimmick as a tool to avoid having to provide any meaningful input.
A mysterious figure stands in a mysterious doorway wielding a mysterious object. No wait, that's just a knife. They slide into the room and, as the clock strikes midnight, they attack! Thus ends what many would call, a HarshMillenium.
Okay, so I looked back at that wagon overnight since there is probably scum on it.
Rhand starts it, does most of the work, and was first on the wagon. I like 79 in particular. He's one of the few people trying who is appearing to actively attempt to solve the game. Probably town.
I join second so that's town too.
Omnom is on third and is probably town for that claim. I can't look past that right now.
Vaimes joins in 107 and it's a pretty flimsy vote. Vaimes hasn't done much this game. But neither has just about anyone expect Rhand and Omnom (kind of). It's a weakish vote, but I like it's tone and his admitting it's weak. Needs to do more today and needs pressure until then.
Blues is the hammer and I like him for that (it's bold to hammer when you're already getting pressure) and feels a bit TSTBS. I hate TSTBS in general, but I just like the confidence Blues had there.
Vote: Vaimes If you're so worried about nothing happening why aren't you making it happen? Who is most likely scum on the wagon? Where are you at on Omnom?
So, Nobue flipped town after all - it's a shame that he didn't attempt to actually put forth a defense, instead just arguing that the points being made against him didn't exist. Is it that common of a play for people to just try and counter arguments with 'no, you don't really have a case' here? Because just from my experience so far, I'm noticing that it seems to be a trend (and in particular it seems to lead frequently to day 1 mislynches).
And Tom is still tunneled on me. The biggest issue is that I can't actually get a read on him because of that BS posting gimmick, so I can't be sure whether it's tunneled town or scum focusing on me for a lynch - if Nobue had flipped scum, I'd be throwing a vote on him now, but with Nobue flipping town, I'm not as certain. I'd ask him to detail his reasons for voting me, but I'd just get more green phrases that I'd have to try and actually peg meaning to as opposed to a real answer. I'll keep an eye on his voting patterns, but for now I'm going to just assume tunneled!town and move on.
Vaimes has provided very little in the way of actual information - the only thing he's done that's noteworthy here is his vote for Nobue.
I thought Rhand's first few posts were off but the example game(s?) I was thinking of are ongoing so oops. I do actually like his "Nobue is too happy at a bad response."
Aside from that, everything in this game besides Omnom's claim is forgettable. Literally everything.
Unvote, vote Nobue
L-1.
If anyone asks, I'm voting because I'm bored, deadline is close (and it doesn't look like people are using that time proactively), and Nobue isn't a townread.
The bolded section is his explanations for the vote - he provided three reasons for his vote. One of them (that the deadline was close and it didn't seem like people were using the time effectively, so he wanted to get a vote in) is somewhat understandable as a reason to make a vote. That he was bored is not a good reason to vote for a person, but I'm taking this as NAI since it's a bad reason to vote someone as either town or scum (barring the initial RVS, at least). But he said that Nobue was not a townread for him, when there was no mention of Nobue from him prior (in fact, his only prior comments on other players were regarding his vote on Rhand, and a one-line comment on Omnom). So that really is coming out of nowhere, and seems as though he's jumping on a bandwagon here.
I want more from Vaimes at this point. I also want to see our quieter players, such as Omnom and Zomg, to add their input, but Vaimes is the biggest one I want to hear from at the moment. That said...
Vote: Vaimes
I'll probably do a more in-depth reread on Grape in particular tonight after work, as I'm pretty sure either he or Tom have the highest post count, and I'm not even going to bother trying to decipher Tom's greentext at this point (though I'll gladly discuss anything he likes if he is willing to drop the greentext quote posting and talk to us normally).
Also, @Grapefruit21: What does TSTBS mean, exactly? Not an acronym I'm familiar with.
Grapefruit's, on the other hand, worries me a bit.
Obviously, you've got the first bit of RVS stuff. You then get him bringing up Tom's vote jumping as a possible scumtell in #35 - and he mentions again in #45 that he's getting scum vibes from Tom. And yet he votes for Arcwind in #46. At this point, we're essentially out of RVS, and the wagon on me is already ongoing, but in #50, he justifies the Arcwind vote as another RVS vote. This is also where his posting starts to concern me - not just with the RVS vote, but with the comment preceding it.
I'm not feeling the blues train right this second and liked Nobue's last post. Arcwind is a ReRVS basically.
The bolded seems innocuous enough, until you see him jumping to my defense in #63 and #75. And then, in #80, he hops on Nobue's wagon - based not on his own opinions, but on Rhand's read, and uses that to get the Nobue wagon really rolling. And drawing heat off of me in the process.
It's a pretty good attempt at pocketing me. Very subtle, very understated. Even as far in as #101, he's jumping to my defense, while his posts really aren't supportive of anyone else except Rhand throughout day 1.
Moving to day 2, he starts with the vote analysis - still throwing all of his support behind Rhand, giving Omnom a free pass based on the earlier claim, calling Vaimes out as scum for his vote. And - surprise! - defending me for the hammering vote.
I still want to hear from Vaimes, as well as others who aren't posting much... but based on the rereads here, I think it's pretty clear who should be looked at - if you do decide to lynch me first, keep this in mind when I flip town.
Gimmick Tom is town.
BluesEclipse is dubious.
I'll Vote: BluesEclipse.
Rhand and Vaimes seem town.
Two scum on Vaimes seems bad though.
Less certain on Vaimes.
BluesEclipse and Vaimes
Or BluesEclipse and Omnomnom
I like these chances.
If this is all wrong,
And BluesEclipse flips townie...
Grape tells us the most.
Rhand, what are your thoughts?
BluesEclipse, convince me I'm wrong.
Let's make this game fun.
Not entirely certain what you expect me to do to convince you that I'm wrong, given that you haven't given anything for me to argue against. You say that I'm dubious, when I've been up front with my reasoning throughout the game thus far. I'm willing to answer any questions you might have for me, whether it's expanding on anything within my earlier posts, or providing opinions of anyone else in this game other than Tom (the posting gimmick really isn't any fun for me to interact with, simply because I can't get clear responses or explanations on his thoughts from it). So I'm not certain what concerns you have regarding me, and so I can't address those concerns. That said, if I get lynched, it's fine. So that it's on record when I flip town: Grapefruit is the most likely scum in my mind. And I'll also say that I don't believe I'm going to be lynched today without at least one scum on my wagon.
There was a strange poster named Omnom.
His posts on page 1 were bizarre, Rhand.
The lack of posts after and his vote also felt wrong,
That scum (or new) poster named Omnom.
I know IRL's tense for Eclipse.
But it's like he pretends he's himself.
On top of that too, he gripes a wazoo,
Some concerning play from Eclipse.
To Rhand - Furthermore, I'm leaning Grape's town.
Unless Blues is, in which case Grape looks worse.
Grape's questioning was not so bad at all.
Tom's point on Blues is quite the point indeed.
Grape did not get it but that's meh to me.
To Grape I pose a question - Why the fourth?
In your post here you waffle a bit much.
Though to be fair, your point towards Vaimes is good.
To Blues - Stop with the fearmongering please.
It does not suit you well and is scummy.
Why so much vote-changing in your posts here?
And what stops you reading between Tom's lines?
Been busy the past few days, will try to get caught up properly soon.
In the meantime Blues you think I'm scum because I'm (from your POV) correctly reading you and defending you. I don't get why starting a random off wagon (voting Arcwind) when I don't like the wagon on you is alarming to you. I am town reading Rhand this game and know he's a better player than I am so I'm not sure why it's a surprise that I'm following his reads a bit.
And yes I'm giving Omnom a free pass. I think that play is overwhelmingly likely to come from town. I'm not seeing you scum reading him, or pretty much anyone but Osie scum reading him at this stage and pretty much have him as lock town.
@Vaimes To not have scum on the wagon it would have to be exactly tom and Osie together and meh. I don't see it. Tom's likely town and Osie is pretty null till I properly read his entrance, which I've only skimmed to answer the question below.
@Osie can you point to the parts where I'm waffling and what you mean by why the fourth? I don't understand your question. The only one that looks a bit waffly is Blues. My reads on Rhand and Omnom are pretty firm.
I took a look at Harsh's posts to see why the mafia killed him, and didn't really come away with anything. This was his first game, and I didn't see anything that looked like a PR crumb/slip.
Kind of a small thing, but I'm not sure I see scum!Blues going "you've got until this exact time before I hammer/vote you." That, and accusing Grape of being scum for defending her. I think scum arguing that someone else is scum for knowing their alignment is preeetty ballsy and doesn't seem like her style. Alsoooo I found a Thing that makes me very very disinterested in lynching her.
---
tom, do you think your posts in this game have helped you further your wincon?
Blues and Grape can't be scum together because he keeps calling her "him." Right? Right?
Also because they both voted me back to back, but eh.
Huh... Sorry @Blues. I'll start using appropriate pronouns now.
Also what do you make of Osie so far? I suspect someone who wasn't really playing on D1 is scum. And I find myself liking them today, but I am paranoid that's just because this game is so starved for content. Their progression on your slot is very strange in 139.
Also I want your opinion on tom with the perspective of having played with him using gimmicks before. I think the only good feelings I have towards his slot are derived from the fact that it's a gimmick and not his content. And rereading him I still don't see what he was pointing to in standing against the Nobue lynch.
shadow's the worst. How he skipped off to endgame after Shinji was lynched, I don't even know.
Anyways.
Honestly, I would not all be shocked if tom and osie were the exact scumteam. "hey osie thanks for being my new partner, let's gimmick together, town will think we're unaligned but mostly it'll just be funny"
Don't really get osie's progression on...anything, tbh.
I feel better about tom despite his gimmicks when it feels like he cares about the game and isn't just trying to be Seen Doing Things. Like when he was the spider in the Invitational. That, or when it feels like people are ganging up on him, I'm like, okay tom is probably town. But here I don't really feel anything one way or the other so vOv lock him up at some point.

Yeah, pretty sure that Shadow coasting through was my fault... The whole never before final 3 thing was bad... I'm bad, games are hard...
Back to this game Osie coming and gimmicking with their partner is meh. I see it as totally NAI that they picked up a gimmick tbh. But I agree on them not making sense, their first order of business is to say you and Rhand are town and then change you because votes???
And thanks for clarifying on tom that makes a lot of sense. Going to reread him later with that in mind. And check out the invitational. I don't think I ever read that one.

Okay.
Vaimes; the fourth vote.
Most say third is scummy.
But you veer to the fourth player.
Dunno.
Pressure.
It's not quite there.
You leave your bases free.
Do you have no confidence, friend?
Or what?
Honestly, I would not all be shocked if tom and osie were the exact scumteam. "hey osie thanks for being my new partner, let's gimmick together, town will think we're unaligned but mostly it'll just be funny"
Funny.
Impossible.
Timing was not that way.
I'd do this no matter the side.
Cinquain!

What's wrong with that?
I was not sure on Vaimes.

BluesEclipse (2): tomsloger, Nobue_Itoh
Grapefruit21 (1): HarshMillenium
Rhand (1): zomgarcwind

I'm in the hospital with 2 of my passengers now, so not a good moment.

With 7 alive, it's 4 to lynch.
Deadline is 26 September 2017.
GF: do you know there's scum on the wagon? Don't lie to me, babe.
You all need to start posting.
Get on my level

Vote: Grapefruit21
osieorb18 replaces zomgarcwind with immediate effect.
That is all.
(Votecount when I get home later, about to board a flight)
BluesEclipse is dubious.
I'll Vote: BluesEclipse.
Rhand and Vaimes seem town.
Two scum on Vaimes seems bad though.
Less certain on Vaimes.
BluesEclipse and Vaimes
Or BluesEclipse and Omnomnom
I like these chances.
If this is all wrong,
And BluesEclipse flips townie...
Grape tells us the most.
Rhand, what are your thoughts?
BluesEclipse, convince me I'm wrong.
Let's make this game fun.

tomsloger: (L-4)
Vaimes: Grapefruit21 (L-3)

I'll be sending prods out(again) tomorrow.
Why do you think omnom is an option Osie?
His posts on page 1 were bizarre, Rhand.
The lack of posts after and his vote also felt wrong,
That scum (or new) poster named Omnom.
I know IRL's tense for Eclipse.
But it's like he pretends he's himself.
On top of that too, he gripes a wazoo,
Some concerning play from Eclipse.
The wheels on the bus go round and round
Also because they both voted me back to back, but eh.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I think Grape is a spicier lynch than Blues.
At least you didn't get completely snowed by Shadow across multiple neighbor chats...

Or what?
I see.
Sorry, Eclipse.
I should not have assumed.
Hope you're okay in tempest land.
Stay safe.
Funny.
Impossible.
Timing was not that way.
I'd do this no matter the side.
Cinquain!
Same thought.
What's wrong with that?
I was not sure on Vaimes.
That was what I expressed that post.
What's up?
Look, see.
Seriously.
He looks town here to me.
Read between the lines; you should see.
Townie.

To clarify.
