Uh, whatever tone means I don't like the question? Asking who the best player is would be...something. Asking who the best scum player is sounds like Latin (ouch, can't use SL for either of you two) wants to focus on that player for fear that a good scum player could fly under the radar. Which, while it might seem logical on the surface, is a really bad idea because random alignment rolls don't care who's a good or bad scum player.
Otherwise we'd all just have to lynch you Day One, obviously. Are you asking us to do that?
um here's one. I feel like there were more but I'm kind of lazy to hunt them all down. Why are you so interested in this?
Eternal we've agreed on most things this game. Do you actually think I'm scum that decided that's the best way to look townie? Why you compared to the people I was pretending not to know well?
I've been scumreading jey since yesterday. Iirc she was the same tier as Killjoy on my readslist and then made a "defense" I have no response to except vote.
I'm over here townreading you for a mindmeld and you keep saying buddying and I'm not even sure it makes sense.
Why Tubba over myself or Kabaz, who assisted in the mislynch of Grape? Why aren't we more likely scum than someone on the wagon?
Can you explain that second line to me, was it a mistype?
As far as why Tubba, he was my strongest scum read yesterday, and he starts off today by throwing shade and soft defending you, so doing nothing to alleviate the scum vibes coming from him. Additionally, I'm not a huge user of wagonomics, other people have made great points with them, but they are inherently flawed because scum know they exist too.
*off the wagon. Why aren't we more likely scum than someone off the wagon? It was a mistype.
But you say you're not a user of wagonomics... which this really isn't. This is just saying that, unless you have something more substancial on Tubba, that someone ON the townie mislynch wagon is more likely in a vaccuum to be scum than someone off of it.
So I suppose my question then is "What about Tubba makes him more likely scum than one of the people who, from your point of view, might be scum and helped mislynch a townie?"
A bit about Tubba on an unrelated note though... he's acting weird. Like his play has completely changed from yesterday.
I'll do a reread now with Rhand as a focus. I didn't peg him for power role so I want to see if perhaps he was targeted on purpose or more randomly. I also don't like Killjoy's "BlueGrape" word usage, so I'll be closely looking at him, too. JeY is probably town. EL is likely town.
Sorry for my vote yesterday, I'm absolute ***** at making and pushing wagons, so this time I had a read on GF and I just stuck to my guns about it. The conviction came from me trying to be strong about my read instead of shooting myself in the foot yet again. Unfortunately I was wrong, but my read was genuine I really disliked GFs vote of KZ and liked his response to pressure even less.
KJ I don't get your wagon analysis. You call my vote bad, KZs vote was almost as bad as mine, yet my vote was the worst and his was the second best?
Jeys frustration feels genuine, but I'm not sure what that means for her alignment. Which is a fun place to be
Yes, that's right. Your votes are similar, but not the same. His vote is a lot harder to walk back. From a scum perspective, not only does it potentially make him look bad, it makes it hard to stop looking bad. Yours could theoretically be walked back with something as simple as an apology for a bad vote... which you did.
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
1: Yes, I was implying that Shadow voted me because I'm scum reading JeY.
2: Shadow has called me his scummiest read, without really offering any reasons.
3: I can't really speak to whether my play style has changed, nor to any reasons why it may have. I will say that I feel more comfortable with my understanding of the game and trying to figure things out.
Apparently a legitimate apology for taking my frustration out on EternalLurker is a "gross appeal-to-emotion attempt". This is honestly why you keep seeming like nothing but scum, continuously twisting things around. It was just an apology for bad sportsmanship :|
@shadowlancerx: While I normally don't care about meta, it becomes more interesting when someone is intentionally trying to hide it, as Tennis is doing. He's not just having fun with a different account; he was clearly trying to pretend he wasn't familiar with this forum:
I'm currently figuring out what exactly constitutes being random or serious in this meta.
So, whaddaya think about Tennis' play based on your prior experience with him, and do you think anything has changed notably in his playstyle since post #341, after which he no longer had reason to hide his identity?
Part of having fun with a different account is pretending you don't know the site meta, and considering that you commit to using a gimmick account before you have a role, it's NAI at best. I did actually go back and read that post in question right after he revealed, and it didn't phase me, but you should know, Tennis has used gimmick accounts before, and flavor gimmicks. His playstyle is not different before his slip and after that I remember, and I really don't think it is a valid use of time to check because it will tell me nothing about his alignment.
@Zionite: if you're going to call my predicted team garbage, the least you could do is answer my questions and give me a reason to believe you're not on it.
@KJ: I'll rephrase, I'm not particularly worried one way or the other who of my reads was on or off the wagon, but the strength of the read itself, and Tubba just looks like scum.
You know, because Jey is totally my scum buddy who decided to try and bus me page 1 and I decided to chainsaw defend her?
And you are my scummiest read, and I've given reasons, your early post to Zionite looked really like forcing interaction (specifically with a scumbuddy), and you're throwing shade.
So this specific post made you think "hmm, I need to be leery of Shadow cause he's good at scum"? And surely you're capable of guessing why I am so interested in this?
@Shadow, never mind, it was a dumb question. I blame train lag. Speaking of which, Off V/LA .
@JeY, you kept bringing up reasons why you thought Shadow was scummy, but never expounding upon them. Do you still think he is scum, or not? Is that due to a reread or something else?
I don't like Eternal's hop off JeY when she starts to get heat, and then a hop onto Tennis after someone else expresses suspicion of him. @Eternal, who are your top 3 scumreads right now?
Except your "post empty votes, explain reasons only when forced" behavior makes that seem less like agreement and more like pocketing. You've gone so far as to use your new fake account as an excuse not to justify your votes, on two separate occasions. Which is pretty clearly BS and forces me to assume the worst about the vote rationales that you're intentionally hiding -- specifically, that they don't exist at the time of your votes, and are instead created after-the-fact in order to justify votes that were actually just placed for the purpose of pocketing a Townie.
Can you offer a good reason for why Town-you was intentionally withholding the reasons for your votes while pretending it was because you're from a meta that requires less evidence than this forum?
Do you actually think I'm scum that decided that's the best way to look townie? Why you compared to the people I was pretending not to know well?
Addressed that the first time. I was the best target in the early-game, and switching to pocketing a different person just cuz you got caught would be way too obvious.
It'd also be easier for people you know well to figure out your identity from playstyle and speech patterns if you got their attention by pocketing 'em; thanks for pointing that out, I guess?
I've been scumreading jey since yesterday. Iirc she was the same tier as Killjoy on my readslist and then made a "defense" I have no response to except vote.
See, why can't you just say that? "That defense is not a defense at all; Vote: JeY K." I'm totally fine with that reason for your vote (I mean, it's the reason I've given up on trying to let JeY redeem herself), but you intentionally refuse to give reasons whenever possible. Your silence just makes it seem like you want to be read by your voting patterns rather than by your actual voting rationales, and of course you'll be Town-read based on where your votes are placed if you're just sheeping a Townie's votes.
This is why your behavior looks like pocketing to me and KZ's doesn't: because, in addition to the timing difference, KZ volunteers information about his thought processes like a Townie should, rather than provably lying to avoid doing so.
I'm over here townreading you for a mindmeld and you keep saying buddying and I'm not even sure it makes sense.
I wouldn't call it a "mind-meld" when your agreement is consistently on the people I'm calling scummiest at the time (allowing you to help push a lynch), while our other reads differ. I mean, excluding the two of us, your reads list is:
Town: Kabazame; Study Latin Probable Town: Killjoy; shadowlancerx Null: Anaklusmos; Vaimes; Toastboy; Tubba Fett Possible Mafia: LnGrrrR; Rodemy Mafia: Zionite; JeY K
(keeping in mind that people who are still null by Day Two are light scum-leans for me, since being that hard to read is inherently scummy)
(and excluding Tubba from the above caveat, cuz he's just perma-null for me since I'm bad at reading inexperience)
So at the moment we've got three agreements in tier placements (underlined), and two of them are on the scum side while the third is a Town-read for everyone. I'm more vocal about my Town-reads than my Mafia-reads (for reasons discussed previously), which makes them easier for you to track as my reads shift over time. So our shared reads being almost entirely Mafia, while the other nine are different, hardly seems like a mind-meld and still makes it feel like you're just sheeping my votes where possible.

@Kabazame: The first instance was shadow implying it about himself. And the reason he's interested is that he's trying to figure out if you heard that from someone in your scum-chat and accidentally let it slip in the thread. (Which should've made it a good question on the surface, but the fact that he's trying to "catch" you for something he said makes me very unhappy, cuz he definitely should remember it happened in the thread when he's the one who posted it. Feels like a setup.)

@Vaimes: Don't be fun. Mafia is srs bzns. Two people are dead here; sho sum respeck.

The fact that JeY is actually trying to pretend post #540-#544 constitute anything but appeal to emotion ("oh I'm so frustrated I'm just going to resign myself to being lynched and make jokes, instead of doing anything to help Town") is seriously cracking me up right now. (#545 says absolutely nothing and I don't understand how Town-JeY could possibly think that post is the problem.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
@LnGrrrR: lolwut. Why would scum-me hop off a wagon that I'm pushing, in order to switch to one that has far less chance of going anywhere? It'd be different if I were confident that the JeY wagon would result in a lynch without me, so I could absolve myself of responsibility by leaving it, but I highly doubt she'll be lynched toDay if I don't push her myself, so that's not the case. (Latin said she was a bad lynch yesterDay, shadow doesn't wanna lynch her, and two people who pushed her yesterDay are dead.) I unvoted for a while because I have serious reservations that my third-strongest scum-read keeps sheeping my votes while using a provable lie to refrain from providing reasoning. I also specifically said I'd revote JeY if my reread didn't push Tennis above her in scumminess.
I listed my top scum-reads (bottom paragraph), and they're in the reads-list earlier in this post (except Tennis, who I excluded in order to compare our lists). Refresher: JeY > Zionite > Tennis > Rodemy > you. The continued reason-less vote-sheeping is starting to push Tennis above Zionite, though.

@shadowlancerx: Thanks for the note that Tennis has a habit of using fake accounts. Makes it even more likely his identity would be discovered in trying to pocket someone who knows him well, which makes his implication to the contrary more suspicious.
I'm missing something here. Why do you say it's "unlikely at best" that you'd be Night-killed? Do you think you're an easy mislynch so scum won't bother with you? (I don't see that at all.) Or do you think Zionite wouldn't Night-kill you early for some reason? (The other people in your scum-team, KZ and Tubba, don't know you.)
How is Kaba's vote harder to walk back? You just said Anak's was too confident.
@shadow probably not.
@eternal I'm not really into talking about my fake playstyle for this game. I had a backstory to steadily reveal, and a new meta to establish. It's kinda sad. But let me assure you, I would not have been figured out without slipping. I changed formatting, capitalization, deleted some posts that sounded too much like me, eliminated gifs and most of my *****posting, etc. I know how to hide in an alt. Let me also assure you that not explaining my reads is not unique to this playstyle.
I think the fact of my naked voting is making people think I don't explain. But, well... I do. I'm failing enough at my original objective of putting in less effort that I think I've given a read on just about everyone. You're welcome to ask me questions that I might answer.
@Lurker, I feel like you want it both ways. You want credit for JeY when she flips scum, but if you can save that for toMorrow and work another mislynch today, then people will think you're "confirmed town" and I am probably not a strong enough player to convince town otherwise.
Speaking of Rodemy, is he V/LA? If so, how long? His lurkiness is making me paranoid.
@LnGrrrR I had original bad feelings but nothing to quantify them with and more posts gave me a better idea and I don't feel they're scum. I will say the one thing that will quantify my town read of shadowlancerx is after my gunslinging with EternalLurker earlier I realized how he must have felt before and I think that reaction incredibly difficult to fabricate as scum, and I actually whispered to myself IRL 'oh my gosh I am so sorry for doubting you shadow'.
Also I assure you I won't flip scum and I think will be enough to help you push EternalLurker.
@EternalLurker what do 540 and 544 have to do with anything? I already said that I wasn't serious in those posts and I was posting for the sake of giving you a hard time because I frustrated, nothing else.
It would be really great if others could just see how awful your attacks are against me.
two things, my point about him using a fake account was that it is irrelevant for alignment reasons, because he decided to do so before receiving an alignment, so I really thing you should drop that point. The other thing is that those read lists look really similar if you consider things one tier away from each other, which is just about strength of read rather than type. I think it might behoove you to take him at face value for a moment, do a reread of his iso, and see what you think and let us know.

The whole point IS that I said it, which is why him saying "I've heard that shadow has a good scum game" seems super disingenuous and makes me think he maybe did hear it from scum chat. My last scum game I did post a full list in scum chat of the players and my thoughts and experiences with them, and I've seen others do the same, so it doesn't seem like an unreasonable suspicion.

see above, but to add on, even someone who plays exactly the same using an alt isn't going to be easy to pick out, I think you're expectation here is a little much that he would have been caught out as himself, or that it would matter.

I won't be night killed because my scum game is as strong as it is, you don't kill someone who can't ever really be cleared. Also, my town game is only fair, I seem to be able to get people to listen to me when I'm wrong, or glaze over me when I'm right.
@Kabazame: The first instance was shadow implying it about himself. Well I wouldn't believe you if you just said it yourself lol but it looked like others were backing it up. It seems that I misinterpreted what EL was saying there though, I just thought it was like a consensus thing around here that you're good as scum.
BTW what does V/LA even mean? I'm moving tomorrow (I was supposed to leave Wednesday but I was sick) and I probably won't be around until Monday night. So uh V/LA until Monday night
@Lurker, I feel like you want it both ways. You want credit for JeY when she flips scum, but if you can save that for toMorrow and work another mislynch today, then people will think you're "confirmed town" and I am probably not a strong enough player to convince town otherwise.
Soooo...you interpret my behavior as scummy only if JeY is scum? Why is this even an issue, then? Lynch the first link in that chain instead of the second, and that'll also let you beat my alleged strategy of saving the JeY lynch for tomorrow. (A strategy which doesn't really make sense in the first place. Why would I wait a day to confirm myself when that just risks me getting lynched toMorrow?)
two things, my point about him using a fake account was that it is irrelevant for alignment reasons, because he decided to do so before receiving an alignment, so I really thing you should drop that point.
...Obviously the mere existence of a fake account is NAI. I'm talking about the way he's using it.

I think it might behoove you to take him at face value for a moment, do a reread of his iso, and see what you think and let us know.
I did reread. I'm not sold, but his scumminess rating is definitely not on JeY's level, so I'll worry about him more toMorrow.
@EternalLurker what do 540 and 544 have to do with anything? I already said that I wasn't serious in those posts and I was posting for the sake of giving you a hard time because I frustrated [sic], nothing else.
...which is exactly
how I described
your appeal to emotion
"I wasn't serious...I'm frustrated..." Well, gee, it's not like I specifically said --
The fact that JeY is actually trying to pretend post #540-#544 constitute anything but appeal to emotion ("oh I'm so frustrated I'm just going to resign myself to being lynched and make jokes, instead of doing anything to help Town") is seriously cracking me up right now.
Oh.
******* hells, this is just getting depressing. I don't think there's any more purpose in my cluttering up the thread with responses to these non-defenses, if the lack of trying is now extending all the way to "not even reading posts".
Vote: JeY K, cuz a Tennis reread has not put him above JeY in scumminess. Worst case scenario, he's bussing her as I outlined previously, but that can be decided toMorrow.
@Lurker, I am going to be suspicious of you until we get a scum flip pretty much. And if JeY flips scum, it will depend on how you approach it. Right now, still not a fan. As for why you would wait a day, it should be pretty obvious. If you mislynch, you are one step closer to winning, and if JeY is ever lynched, you can use that in your favor and be "confirmed" town. Without a scumflip, there's too much WIFOM going on, and with the exception of Toasty, none of the people leading the game feel super towny to me.
@PaTennis, why did you mention me tying Lurker to JeY, but didnt mention anything about me tying Shadow to JeY/scum, which I did even moreso?
@all who are suspicious of Zionite, can you explain the case to me? I am not seeing/understanding it.
.........is this really ******* happening? is this real life?
Vote: Pa Tennis
He's null on LnGrrrR all game. Literally not a single interaction with him. But, the very moment after I post a reads list in which LnGrrrR is a mafia lean for me, he immediately launches a chainsaw-defense of me against LnGrrrR.
Someone please show me how I'm somehow imagining this constant blatant pocketing. It just doesn't stop, yo.

Fun fact: JeyK has been voted for more times than any player in this game. The only players not to vote for her are me (town), Study Latin (likely town), Killjoy (shrug), and Kaba (light town, but that read is probably getting stale).
Which makes it more likely than not that mafia have/are voting for her, which makes me feel like she's >rand town in a vacuum.
---
Rod, your question has no point. Rephrase, please.
As soon as I opened Zionite's ISO, it was abundantly clear that he's never scum with EL, so that's cool. But I don't really like his EL read; he sort of jumps from accusatory ("So did you have a specific question to ask, or are you just trying to blow smoke?") to hard-townreading him ("Obviously I'm town reading EL"). In between he does a lot of complaining about EL's posting frequency. No actual reason for the EL townread. I'm forced to assume it's because EL posts a lot of words, or something equally shallow.
Aside from that, he kind of just exists. Hasn't done anything that jumps out at me as "yes, this comes from a town player." Despite saying I was gonna get attention, he has paid me very precious little of it, which makes me sad.
Oh, and this line: "Apparently it wasn't as obvious to everyone else Grape was town." Says the player who basically checked out of the game as Grapefruit was getting run up. I'm not gonna attack him for being V/LA, because that's outside of the game and whatever. But the fact that he peaced out without even offering an alternative lynch, or at least a reason why he believed Grapefruit was town (something he was asked to provide multiple times and never delivered on; Grapefruit even noticed, commented on it, and was weirded out by it) is awful.
I'm really not liking this tongue in cheek vote from Vaimes, or the shade from KZ, without taking the vote count or the timing into consideration. I said I'd be back, but I never had a chance to do anything. You'd think they'd have better reads with two flips, but neither attempts to take this into account. Weak.
False bravado. What, I'm supposed to recognize that Zionite is town because Grapefruit and Rhand flipped town? Is that how this works?
I'll do a reread now with Rhand as a focus. I didn't peg him for power role so I want to see if perhaps he was targeted on purpose or more randomly. I also don't like Killjoy's "BlueGrape" word usage, so I'll be closely looking at him, too. JeY is probably town. EL is likely town.
How would rereading Rhand help you find the mafia?
How is Killjoy's usage of BlueGrape relevant to his alignment?
Why is JeyK town? Why is EL town? Why aren't you townreading me? You'd think with two flips, you'd have better reads, etc., etc.
(You can ignore that last part, I'm just poking fun at ya.)
@Vaimes
I'm willing to accept that my ability to read players in this game is flawed. Can you expand on why you think JeY is town based on what she's posted? I'm not understanding your vote count analysis as a way to clear her.
So, what you're saying is...when someone is blatantly scummy enough that most of the Town votes for him/her (including the two dead Townies), that person is probably not scum.
This is a too-scummy-to-be-scum argument and thus terrible.
I don't really like [Zionite's] EL read; he sort of jumps from accusatory ("So did you have a specific question to ask, or are you just trying to blow smoke?") to hard-townreading him ("Obviously I'm town reading EL").
That first part is not a scum-read on me. It's just irritation. You can be frustrated with someone while Town-reading him/her. This isn't a contradiction.
No actual reason for the EL townread. I'm forced to assume it's because EL posts a lot of words, or something equally shallow.
Says the person whose entire reason for Town-reading me was literally the one word "tryhard"?
(Don't get me wrong: I'm mostly scum-reading Zionite too, and your other reasons for doing so are good, mainly the suspicious Grapefruit interactions. But this is hypocritical.)
My homework assignment for this week is to find the scum among Tubba/LnGR/Pa. Fun times.
Really, just cuz they're the ones voting JeY? That's a helluva chain-read you're making there, hinging entirely on JeY being Town. An assumption for which, as I've already stated, your reasons are prettttty weak.
Hell, until Tennis finally eclipsed her in scumminess just recently, I was voting JeY too. Why am I not in this scum-list, if voting JeY is all it takes to be probable scum in your eyes? Why does the arbitrary time at which you chose to calculate this votal matter?
@Vaimes: I figured more players would care your vote sucked. But they didn't.
Re: EL blowing smoke - wasn't really meant to be a "you're scum" dig, as you're assuming. I was just exasperated with EL's unchecked aggression, which is not really indicative of alignment.
On Rhand - Scum obviously knew he was a power role, but I had no indication based on read he was anything other than regular town. So I've missed something they picked up on, which means I should probably reread and figure out what it was and who picked up on it. Still haven't done it.
Bluegrape - The fact that Grapefruit defined the slot way more than Blue made me believe the usage of BlueGrape to be defensive when it didn't need to be.
The reason I haven't better reads is because I haven't gotten around to my actual reread. My Bad. I was mostly irked that nothing changed in other players' reads.
I think JeY and EL are way too involved together to be scum buddies. Their interactions led me to believe it's town v. town discussion. If I was forced to pick between the two who to lynch, I think JeY would be the safer bet. JeY appeals to emotion while EL uses reason. If someone would suggest that certain JeY posts make this interaction a town/scum dichotomy, I would be persuaded to vote. But so far I'm seeing town/town.
I'm not totally sold that Vaimes believes I'm scum.
On Rhand - Scum obviously knew he was a power role, but I had no indication based on read he was anything other than regular town. So I've missed something they picked up on, which means I should probably reread and figure out what it was and who picked up on it.
Or scum killed the guy who had mostly been inactive (thus giving no useful interaction tells when he died) and had said he was finally returning home to be more active in future Days (which they'd wanna interrupt). Feel free to read into it and let us know what you find, but don't be surprised if you find nothing.
I'm not locked into Jey being town and mafia being on her wagon. It's just a possibility I feel like entertaining for the time being. And when I read those individual players, I may come out with different reads than I expected.
I don't think I'd every say anything like "are you just trying to blow smoke" to someone I was townreading. Not even sure he had a read on you at the time, so this is whatever.
If I said I was townreading you for being tryhard, I was joking. I haven't really made a decision on you, because I haven't read your posts and I know that I'm inclined to townread people who are active and wall a lot.
The votal is just a snapshot I felt like focusing on. There's no real reason for it, just something concrete to direct me.
On Rhand - Scum obviously knew he was a power role, but I had no indication based on read he was anything other than regular town. So I've missed something they picked up on, which means I should probably reread and figure out what it was and who picked up on it. Still haven't done it.
Do you actually think you'll be able to make an educated guess as to who could have sniffed out his role?
Bluegrape - The fact that Grapefruit defined the slot way more than Blue made me believe the usage of BlueGrape to be defensive when it didn't need to be.
That's a weird way of looking at it.
When I'm tracking votes, I usually mesh together names if a slot replaced out. Just to keep track of everything.
Whoa hey, I apologized for being wrong in my read, not for my vote. I was not walking back my stance or my vote, but expressing a desire to repent for being wrong. Also what even is "being harder to walk back"? How does a slight ability to "walk a vote back" create such a difference between my and KZs vote? to paint what I was doing in a different light gives me mad scum vibes about you.
@Vaimes I have always had that white noise quality, something that I haven't really ever been able to figure out. Had many discussions about it with various people, as I'm like that in real life too.
I haven't seen a vote yet on Pa that I like, which is making me think he's town by virtue of everyone else hopping on him so badly.
I don't think I'd every say anything like "are you just trying to blow smoke" to someone I was townreading. Not even sure he had a read on you at the time, so this is whatever.
This trioofposts described frustration with a Town leader (he referenced Apocalypse's tomsloger as a comparison).
Well, clearly you should back up the votal to a previous moment in time and include me in it so that you can ISO me as well, because your read on me is apparently "Town enough that I'll sheep his vote" and also "Town for vague reasons but not only for effort, I promise" but also "not actually a read yet".
Ok. Next question: Ok. So you think Shadow voted you because you scumread Jey. Is Shadow doing this to others as well?
Yes, that's right. Your votes are similar, but not the same. His vote is a lot harder to walk back. From a scum perspective, not only does it potentially make him look bad, it makes it hard to stop looking bad. Yours could theoretically be walked back with something as simple as an apology for a bad vote... which you did.
How is Kaba's vote harder to walk back? You just said Anak's was too confident.
Fore quick reference and contrast:
Quote from Kaba »
Regardless, I probably wouldn't vote just because you told me too, but Grapefruit was nice enough to just claim scum
Vote: Grapefruit21
You can't just say "I agree with everything toast said" without providing your own thoughts and jump on an easy bandwagon. You're buddying up to Toast calling him "super town" with no reason, same with Rod. Most of your reads are just town or scum with nothing explaining it, except Lurker who everyone has already talked to death about.
Anything original to add?
Quote from Anak »
Oh hey Grapefruits scum. That's neat.
Vote: Grapefruit21
You in your catch up post cursory reads on everyone, then vote the one person you didn't mention, citing hopping on the wagon. Talk about an action that's trying to let you blend in and back out if needed.
Kaba's reasons are better defined, and... well he has more to be wrong about. His reasons were: "following Toast onto the bandwagon", ""buddying up to Toast, calling him super town", "same with Rod", "Everyone on your scumlist has no reasoning except the person who has been talked most about".
He's putting himself much more out there, and isn't excessively confident.
Anak's reasoning: "GF posted cursory reads on everyone, then voted someone he didn't mention, citing hopping on the wagon".
That's extremely superficial. It's also just ONE, superficial reason, which doesn't justify the confidence of "Oh, hey GF is scum". Also, that little piece after the reason: "Talk about an action that's trying to let you blend in and back out if needed." is an unneccessary poke at GF to further give his vote the illusion of confidence (and also is ironic since that's exactly what I'm accusing him of, lol).
Also, he absolutely lied about not apologizing about the vote, but that's not part of your question.
My homework assignment for this week is to find the scum among Tubba/LnGR/Pa. Fun times.
Firstly I disagree that Jey is town simply because she's been voted a bunch. And you following that line of logic makes me think you beleive it pretty heavily, despite saying you're not 'locked in' sometime later.
Here's a question: Why are you doing these votecounts?
On Rhand - Scum obviously knew he was a power role, but I had no indication based on read he was anything other than regular town. So I've missed something they picked up on, which means I should probably reread and figure out what it was and who picked up on it. Still haven't done it.
Bluegrape - The fact that Grapefruit defined the slot way more than Blue made me believe the usage of BlueGrape to be defensive when it didn't need to be.
Rhand: Erm... no... I think it's safe to say that it's not obvious that scum knew he was a power role to anyone but you. Also trying to guess why the scum made a nightkill (without additional info/ obvious crumbing) is never not WIFOM.
Re; BlueGrape: how is it defensive? I don't understand how that's a thing.
Whoa hey, I apologized for being wrong in my read, not for my vote.
what is this I don't even
Vote Anak
So Tubba and Anak are probably scum. Maybe with Vaimes... and... Toast perhaps? IDK that last slot is in the air right now.
I'm beginning to doubt my scumread on Pa because I feel like I'm scumreading him for being tom, which I don't think I've ever been right about.
So you think kaba's vote was better reasoned and less confident therefore harder to walk back?
Ehhhhh...
Anak said something about faking the confidence because he gets lynched for being all wishy washy or something and it kinda makes sense. Even makes him more likely to apologize about being wrong about it maybe?
Though yeah the apology is a little weird. I'm not sorry at all. He was scummy and we lynched him.

um here's one. I feel like there were more but I'm kind of lazy to hunt them all down. Why are you so interested in this?
I've been scumreading jey since yesterday. Iirc she was the same tier as Killjoy on my readslist and then made a "defense" I have no response to except vote.
I'm over here townreading you for a mindmeld and you keep saying buddying and I'm not even sure it makes sense.
*off the wagon. Why aren't we more likely scum than someone off the wagon? It was a mistype.

So this specific post made you think "hmm, I need to be leery of Shadow cause he's good at scum"? And surely you're capable of guessing why I am so interested in this?
@JeY, you kept bringing up reasons why you thought Shadow was scummy, but never expounding upon them. Do you still think he is scum, or not? Is that due to a reread or something else?
I don't like Eternal's hop off JeY when she starts to get heat, and then a hop onto Tennis after someone else expresses suspicion of him. @Eternal, who are your top 3 scumreads right now?
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!
Can you offer a good reason for why Town-you was intentionally withholding the reasons for your votes while pretending it was because you're from a meta that requires less evidence than this forum? Addressed that the first time. I was the best target in the early-game, and switching to pocketing a different person just cuz you got caught would be way too obvious.
It'd also be easier for people you know well to figure out your identity from playstyle and speech patterns if you got their attention by pocketing 'em; thanks for pointing that out, I guess?
I wouldn't call it a "mind-meld" when your agreement is consistently on the people I'm calling scummiest at the time (allowing you to help push a lynch), while our other reads differ. I mean, excluding the two of us, your reads list is: while I'm at:
Town: Kabazame; Study Latin
Probable Town: Killjoy; shadowlancerx
Null: Anaklusmos; Vaimes; Toastboy; Tubba Fett
Possible Mafia: LnGrrrR; Rodemy
Mafia: Zionite; JeY K
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
@Vaimes: Don't be fun. Mafia is srs bzns. Two people are dead here; sho sum respeck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How is Kaba's vote harder to walk back? You just said Anak's was too confident.
@shadow probably not.
Speaking of Rodemy, is he V/LA? If so, how long? His lurkiness is making me paranoid.
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!
¤.†.¤ The OceanLink ¤.†.¤
Well I wouldn't believe you if you just said it yourself lol but it looked like others were backing it up. It seems that I misinterpreted what EL was saying there though, I just thought it was like a consensus thing around here that you're good as scum.
BTW what does V/LA even mean? I'm moving tomorrow (I was supposed to leave Wednesday but I was sick) and I probably won't be around until Monday night. So uh V/LA until Monday night
did I do that right?
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!

...Obviously the mere existence of a fake account is NAI. I'm talking about the way he's using it. I did reread. I'm not sold, but his scumminess rating is definitely not on JeY's level, so I'll worry about him more toMorrow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...which is exactly
how I described
your appeal to emotion
"I wasn't serious...I'm frustrated..." Well, gee, it's not like I specifically said -- Oh.
I am also confirming that my V/LA is over and I will get caught up with the game tomorrow.

(Really sorry. I've been weirdly tired and I'm not sure how to fix it, since sleep isn't really the issue.)
Reminder to myself to update personal votecount records.
@PaTennis, why did you mention me tying Lurker to JeY, but didnt mention anything about me tying Shadow to JeY/scum, which I did even moreso?
@all who are suspicious of Zionite, can you explain the case to me? I am not seeing/understanding it.
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!
My bad. You're tying lots of townies to your buddy.
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!
Real quick.. You haven't caught up.
How are you still "diggin your vote"
Lol. Whatever dude.
I don't see it. But I'm not really happy with your answer to my question either.
False bravado. What, I'm supposed to recognize that Zionite is town because Grapefruit and Rhand flipped town? Is that how this works?
How would rereading Rhand help you find the mafia?
How is Killjoy's usage of BlueGrape relevant to his alignment?
Why is JeyK town? Why is EL town? Why aren't you townreading me? You'd think with two flips, you'd have better reads, etc., etc.
(You can ignore that last part, I'm just poking fun at ya.)
Kaba (1): Toast (#504)
EL (1): JeyK (#511)
TubbaF (1): shadow (#513)
Zionite (1): Vaimes (#519)
PaT (2): EL (#588), Zionite (#591)
JeyK (3): TubbaF (#521), LnGR (#524), PaT (#537)
Abstaining (5): Anak, Kaba, Killjoy, Rodemy, StudyL
My homework assignment for this week is to find the scum among Tubba/LnGR/Pa. Fun times.
It's not an automatic, 100% thing.
I'm willing to accept that my ability to read players in this game is flawed. Can you expand on why you think JeY is town based on what she's posted? I'm not understanding your vote count analysis as a way to clear her.
This is a too-scummy-to-be-scum argument and thus terrible. That first part is not a scum-read on me. It's just irritation. You can be frustrated with someone while Town-reading him/her. This isn't a contradiction. Says the person whose entire reason for Town-reading me was literally the one word "tryhard"?
(Don't get me wrong: I'm mostly scum-reading Zionite too, and your other reasons for doing so are good, mainly the suspicious Grapefruit interactions. But this is hypocritical.) Really, just cuz they're the ones voting JeY? That's a helluva chain-read you're making there, hinging entirely on JeY being Town. An assumption for which, as I've already stated, your reasons are prettttty weak.
Hell, until Tennis finally eclipsed her in scumminess just recently, I was voting JeY too. Why am I not in this scum-list, if voting JeY is all it takes to be probable scum in your eyes? Why does the arbitrary time at which you chose to calculate this votal matter?

Firstly I disagree that Jey is town simply because she's been voted a bunch. And you following that line of logic makes me think you beleive it pretty heavily, despite saying you're not 'locked in' sometime later.
Here's a question: Why are you doing these votecounts?
Rhand: Erm... no... I think it's safe to say that it's not obvious that scum knew he was a power role to anyone but you. Also trying to guess why the scum made a nightkill (without additional info/ obvious crumbing) is never not WIFOM.
Re; BlueGrape: how is it defensive? I don't understand how that's a thing.
Reason above. Also LOL because Vote Anak
Ehhhhh...
Anak said something about faking the confidence because he gets lynched for being all wishy washy or something and it kinda makes sense. Even makes him more likely to apologize about being wrong about it maybe?
Though yeah the apology is a little weird. I'm not sorry at all. He was scummy and we lynched him.
