O.o I thought you said this was all in good fun? That you were enjoying the game. I get that being scum read is sucky as either alignment, but it's part of the game. My vote is not moving from Osie until he is dead.
I didn't say I wasn't enjoying the game.
Why are you self voting?
To make a point. One does that at times. Maybe doing it at L-3 is a little silly, though.
Unvote
By the way, can you point to any buddying between Nago and KT, or is this just conveniently framing a narrative?

Dont use self votes to make a point. I have enacted a zero tolerance for them outside of LyLo/MyLo, and as such my vote on you will stand. That and I feel like you're caught scum.
I'm not referring to your predecessor as far as thinking you and King are aligned, I'm specifically referring to the posts by you and him specifically preceding when I said I think you're aligned. You vote him, he tries to imply that you/Megs are TvT then says we could pick a consensus lynch instead of lynching you.

And I'm saying that doesn't seem like much to go on, and I am interested if you saw anything else there.
Besides, as he admitted, he would likely be the consensus lynch.
Awkward and over defensive have nothing to do with it. Your self vote makes absolutely zero sense as a townie move. Town self vote out of frustration and aggravation, you don't seem like that applies.
It's not much to go on, which is why if you flip scum I'm not going to auto lynch Torg without at least making sure I'm not depending on association.
Guys sorry that I haven't posted. I've been trying to help my sister out about two hours away. A dam broke and her house is flooding. I will post later tonight.

@Shadow: Do you still think Vaimes is town, and if so, why?
Yeah, because I would be very surprised if the person he replaced was scum. It's 5 posts, but his very first post is significantly more likely to come from town. Also, he picked specifically voted Osie slot over DV when he mentioned that he believed one to be scum.
Alright. A lot to cover since I was last able to check in (getting sick sucks, especially when you still have to work), but I've got there.
First, @King Torg: You asked whether my roleclaim at this point was normal. It's already been answered in some level of detail, but the simple fact is, I didn't care whether it was normal or not. I honestly expected to get called out on that as a stupid move, and I'm glad to see that wasn't the case.
@Bloodmoon0324: That doesn't sound good... I hope your sister's okay.
Now, to the meat of things. I'm seeing a lot here between Osie and Megiddo, with a few contributions here and there. In general, though, much of what Osie's bringing up can be classed in two areas - fearmongering, and attempts to discredit Megiddo.
Fearmongering
Osie starts with the fearmongering with a subtle mention in #531, bringing up the fact that a mislynch (on them specifically) brings us into MyLo. This is repeated in #562, in a response directed at Shadow - when there's nothing from Shadow between those posts that makes the response make sense.
@Shadow: As I was saying, if I get mislynched, the game goes into MyLo. If Nagobcnik/Me are really your top scumread, or you're buddying up with Meg, go ahead, but it probably just loses town the game in the end.
Seriously, what is this supposed to be a response to?
Something else that was mentioned by Osie, and not commented on by anyone else, is when Osie asks me if I had considered the possibility of a GF in regards to ELphidia. The big issue here, though, is that this is a Basic game, and GF is not considered a standard role for basic or newbie games, from what I've seen. Plus, we're in a very power-light game - such that my cop role is one-shot only. I don't expect that there'd be a GF to muddle that further. Osie's mention of the possibility seems intended specifically to make me second-guess myself, and make everyone else do the same.
Lastly, another fairly subtle mention in #582, where Osie mentions that I could be lying about the cop claim. Sure, they say I'm still 'likely town' - but that I could be lying. If I'm likely town, why would you suggest the possibility that I'm lying? The only purpose it would serve is to sow doubt regarding my claim, and possibly direct attention away from you.
I can see Torg being part of the scumteam here as well, with #621/#622 - he claims Osie v Megs as TvT, then suggests a consensus lynch. And commenting that he's the likely consensus would be a good way of trying to make people look away from him to people less likely to put themselves on the chopping block - particularly when I'd argue we have easily enough people to push a consensus on Mog if it came down to it. At this point, I'm actually starting to look at Osie/Torg/Mog as the scumteam, though not willing to lock that in yet.
Last bit of fearmongering is Osie's self-vote - I've already elaborated in day 1 on my feelings on self-voting, so I won't reiterate that here. But it serves no purpose other than to push Osie's narrative that lynching them loses the game for town. This is the most blatant bit of fearmongering here.
Discrediting Megiddo
This really starts back in #543, when Osie calls Megs out for 'spouting off garbage'. This is in response to Megs explaining in #541 that the case on Osie slot was based on Nago's posting rather than Osie's. Megs calls out Osie in #545 for this, with good reason - Megs did make his case, albeit one based on the slot history rather than just things since Osie replaced in.
More of this starting in #585, where Osie starts asking people what the plan is when they flip town. He follows this by asking Megs in #587 why Vaimes/Olli slot is 'more town' than Nago. The question, why push Osie over Vaimes, does have some merit - but the wording does not, as Osie's specifically trying to push the 'Osie/Nago is town' angle. Plus, Megs at this point is looking at Vaimes as scum as well. After Megiddo's response in #588, Osie snaps back in #589 with the comment of 'tunneling or scum', trying to suggest that the arguments made by Megiddo have no merit, and has continued to ride that train of thought since then by trying to push Megiddo on his focus on Osie.
@Megiddo: Also, you seem to be pushing people to vote Osie, but you are currently voting me. Is this intentional?
Blues, Meg just handwaved you in response to this.
Megiddo's response to my question there in #515 was made in #516, when he explained that he'd be voting after he did more catch-up reading. And 8 minutes later, in #520, he voted Osie. Not exactly handwaving it.
Other Issues
One other thing that sticks out to me is #562/#563. In #562, Osie moves the vote from Torg to Vaimes. No reason, no explanation, not even any commentary in prior posts regarding why voting on Vaimes. Osie just jumps from voting Torg in #531 to Vaimes in #562. Admittedly, the possibility was raised in #531 of a Torg/Vaimes scumteam, but what makes Vaimes a better vote than Torg here if they're both part of the same scumteam? Making this more confusing is the immediate follow up in #563. Osie decides to unvote Vaimes, leaving no vote on the table... after a PBPA on Torg? Who they are already scumreading, based on the PBPA? And who they aren't choosing to revote based on said PBPA or their prior scumreads? If the PBPA was to prove Torg as scum, moving the vote back to Torg would've made sense here. Or... y'know, not moving the vote in the first place to someone who you've given no additional reason to vote when you already had the vote on Torg and were focusing on building the case on him.
Overall, based on what I've seen here, I don't see town!Osie as a possibility here. And with roughly 24 hours to deadline, I think the move is clear.
Unvote Vote: Osieorb18
If Osie flips as town, then I will look at Megs, Torg, and Vaimes for the scumteam, with Mog as an outside possibility at that point. If Osie flips as scum? Torg still isn't off the hook, due to #621/#622, but Mog goes back to being the main suspect for me at that point. Skogs is an outside possibility on either side at this point, due to lurk mode.
boy am i sad that VAIMES is missing out on this great content. it would be cool if the mod would prod VAIMES so that he would read these excellent posts.

@blues, it flooded her whole house and damaged everything about two feet off the ground and below. So I've been trying to help her get new stuff. I will post about the game tonight (early tomorrow morning) when I'm off work.
Deadline is today at 7PM CST (aka 8 hours from now)!
Megs made it so Mog can't vote for me, as it would be a scumclaim.
I'm not going to self-hammer just to say "I told you so."
That leaves Vaimes, JulsSkogs, and KT (who didn't vote for me earlier when he had the chance).
Or we can just run the clock out.
But while we're waiting, any thoughts on who ACTUAL scum is based on the rest of this game, or are thoughts of me still too captivating?
Osie, this is the part where you as town would go "Here are MY thoughts on who the actual scum are based on the rest of this game" rather than asking everyone else to do it. If you reall are town instead of scum, you have not very long to do that, and it's not going to save you, but it at least gives us somewhere to springboard off of tomorrow. I would appreciate it, because it will leave a legacy. Obviously just not saying anything specific looks more like you don't want to spew reads on anyone. Interestingly though, your wagon contains the two people who are basically as close to lock town as you can get though, so if you're town, either your wagon is all town, or one of Megs/bloodmoon is scum, which doesn't look to be the case at this present moment.
Osie, this is the part where you as town would go "Here are MY thoughts on who the actual scum are based on the rest of this game" rather than asking everyone else to do it.
I mean, I have gone over who I thought was scum this game, but sure...
ELphidia and BluesEclipse are likely both town, with a tinfoil world in which they are both scum. While some of EL's activity was rather questionable due to being over-aggressive and Ophidia has mostly just been following the popularity train, EL was actively going after town, and I'm still not certain that the game break reveal is actually NAI. BluesEclipse has also been reasonably active, though the buddying up, following of popular opinion, and over-helpfulness in the early game similarly looks bad. In the tinfoil where they're both scum, they played a good game here, and got lucky that most of town was lurking.
Bloodmoon has oozed town tone like nobody's business this game. Recent, very justifiable, inactivity aside, Bloodmoon is almost certainly town.
I had a light town lean on Folza due mostly to post 160 and post 226. Shadow has also seemed reasonably townie, though that is a pure tone read, mostly from his first couple posts. He makes a good point about not being partnered and voting for his own reasons, and I start to think that Megs was primarily trying to get me to tinfoil against Shadow in post 601 with
Do you still have Shadow as leaning town? Voting for the player that one of your scumreads tells you to vote for seems like maybe something that town doesn't do, right? But you still think Shadow is town...?
Which reads to me as scum trying to lead town against town.
The more I read Mograppler, the more I lean towards newb town. His early game activity was weird, but EL's wagon on him was not well-founded. He's had some very reasonable posts in there, and some okay posts, so at worst he still places near the middle of my list.
JulsSkogs has been lurking a lot throughout the game. Combine that with a terrible start and he starts to look pretty bad. But he's also had a bit of okay stuff. I'd put him at a scumlean for lack of effort, but null otherwise, so an overall light scum lean.
King Torg has been touched on a lot. He exhibits a lot of scummy behavior, but there's also moments which could be town in there. I'd put him above Megs and Vaimes, I guess. I am still relatively convinced he is scum, but I think his spot is actually relatively comparable to Mog in a less newby, and inherently more scummy, way. Scumlean.
AudioTsunami's posts, as few as they were, looked quite decent, and I had a townlean there, which would have been a town read with less lurking. However, since EL seems to be town, some of the town tells start to look a little more suspicious. Then Megs turned it thoroughly around, albeit using the same pattern that I should be used to by now when I'm town of just enough laziness to get me to call out the case as bad, then developing an elaboration on the case and pulling parts of my posts out of context to point to bigger scumtells and get others to do the same. Well, if that's a town playstyle, that's pretty awful, but I'm hoping I'm just correct and he's scum. While not my strongest scumread, this is still a scummy slot.
Golli was useless, flaily, and lurking like mad. Vaimes has continued the lurking and... I guess he presented a case on ELphidia which was decent... The slot is very scummy, and Megs seemingly buddying up to the slot doesn't help me feel any better there.

I do want to touch on this a bit since (1) I can see why people might draw an impression that I was angry about the game from it, and (2) A thought.
When I say lazy here, I'm not meaning it in a pure negative sense, more a matter of tone and amount of content.
Acting lazy/flippant to draw people in is a very legitimate strategy. Kpaca and Tomsloger regularly use it to great effect, as does Megs in other scenarios. Kpaca follows the active "lazy start" up with continuing to act flippant and trolly, but when you read between the lines provides good game analysis at the same time outside of focusing on the baited reactions. Tom, meanwhile, will shift towards more active analysis in such a way that makes it clear that the earlier tone was not indicative of his alignment and that he has dialed in more concrete reads. The No brakes game was Megs going so hard on the trolly lazy theme that it seemed almost too scummy to be scum. And in the town games, Meg's style looks similar to Tom, with more playfulness throughout to distinguish the two of them. Meanwhile, here it just looks like a scum honey trap to bury town. And congrats, it seems to have worked...
Seriously, if you had responded to me at any time in a towny fashion we might be having a different conversation yet but I haven't seen it. And neither has anybody else.

Seriously, if you had responded to me at any time in a towny fashion we might be having a different conversation yet but I haven't seen it. And neither has anybody else.
Nah, I'm legitimately frustrated that this game continues the implication that I have to play more cautiously as town than as scum.
I mostly play purely off the cuff, without pausing to think much about X or Y scumtell in my own posts, especially as town. I'm focused on analysis and tone much more than anything predetermined. But that has led to issues as town and not really as scum... Hence my frustration here, beyond finding the variant of the strategy I described that you seem to use here to be way too likely to hit town to use if you are town.

Like, I legitimately get the feeling that I have to start basically censoring my posts as town, which just feels wrong.
it's not as if i said "aha, he said this, he must be scum" like I was running down a checklist.
there was a fairly strong behavioral pattern to your responses that indicated scum rather than town. Plus none of your original arguments held up or made sense at all.

Oh, also, since Osie mentioned me, I'd be a lot more active if I knew what I was doing. Like all of these posts just look like walls of text at this point. It's all just words and accusations that I'm not quite sure how to substantiate. I'm pretty much like this guy at this point.
That said, considering the deadline, there's no consensus "scum" player (except maybe me. :p) so I'm not sure that there's any way to just lynch that player instead of having an argument about osiorb. Thoughts?
Well.
Good News: I was right.
Bad News: I was right.
On a more serious note, why would the scum go after meggidio, since he was probably the most likely scum candidate after me? It seems like it would just be easier to kill shadow or something and let the rest of the town go at both of our throats. I really can't think of any scenario where this line of play makes sense.

Also, I missed the airquotes.
go read Stargate.
Seriously, if you had responded to me at any time in a towny fashion we might be having a different conversation yet but I haven't seen it. And neither has anybody else.
*Sigh* Sure.
Meta is really WIFOMy, but I'll read Stargate on the way to work or after work.
See y'all next game.
Progenitus out.
tfw i'm just being trolled.
Nah, I'm legitimately frustrated that this game continues the implication that I have to play more cautiously as town than as scum.
It was mostly an afterthought... I probably didn't emphasize well enough just how much I don't care for meta reads. Whatever.

Like, I legitimately get the feeling that I have to start basically censoring my posts as town, which just feels wrong.
there was a fairly strong behavioral pattern to your responses that indicated scum rather than town. Plus none of your original arguments held up or made sense at all.
I have this feeling that he's actually town, but I'm not going to UNVOTE for reasons I've already said.
@Osie: if you're town here, your one (?) game as scum was super different because of how the mechanics worked in that one.
unrelated i just got hit by a car so i may be la for a hot minute.

Five hand are holding the legendary scythe as it claims another head.
osieorb18 was lynched. He was Progenitus, town Vanilla
It's now Night 2. Night actions are due by 8/15 at 8PM CST. No posting during the Night phase!
Unscythe is still wet from the blood of its latest head. Wait, that's fresher than yesterday evening...
Megiddo has been killed. He was Rakka Mar, town Vanilla
The Day begins. With 8 alive, it is 5 to lynch!
The deadline is set for Tuesday, 8/29 at 7PM CST.
