Bur I agree with, Kitbits I'm more inclined to say NAI
What else you got to add?
About kit? His response to Rhand felt over explainy, overall I don't see him as obv town.
About the game? I like you for town, but we'll see how I feel by the end of day.
... not you too...
*sigh* Why am I town to you too?
Also, what part of Kit's post felt over-explanatory to you, shadow?
I really liked your playful tone and posting, you seem excited for the game, which I feel like comes from town!bur more often than scum!bur.
He just went a little too much into the "no this actually what I meant" than I think was necessary. I don't think it means scum!kit, but I don't feel like it comes only from town.

And why are you townreading GJ?

And why are you townreading GJ?
I guess I give you town points for correcting a bad meta read?
And I like his feel so far, its a weak soul read, I'll feel better one way or the other in a few hundred posts. I'm gonna get burned at some point, but so far I've correctly townread GJ in games we've been together that he's town, and had hesitations when he wasn't.
I'm feeling slightly town on Bur, on tone. I don't agree with the train reasoning. Could all be town- then it wouldn't make a difference if Bur was scum or town since the voters wouldn't know.
GJ's easy town reads feel suspicious. Shadow's hesitation to agree with a town read on me is more practical. GJ's town read on Bur seems faulty as well as I've stated above. Interested to see a reply to Gruffin's question regarding the voters.
I'm not feeling good about Rhand misinterpreting me but it may not have been scum motive and he hasn't even replied so I'll let it be.
I could go either way with Shadow, but so far I can understand his thought processes.
I like the transparency in Kit’s 42 because she’s laying out her intentions behind the question towards Grape and approaching him with curiosity. While this isn’t something I would throw a townread at, it shows me that she isn’t eager to accuse players for stuff she has yet to understand. Interested to see how Rhand responds to Kit.
Bur is someone I’ll keep an eye on. While I like that he’s not afraid to engage people over townreading him, I know he’s competent enough to make the posts he’s making as scum too.
And finally Shadow gave me bad vibes in post 63. It makes me feel like he’s reaching for reasons to townread Bur when his previous reasons were refuted. @Shadow How is correcting a bad meta read a townie action?
Vote Bur definitely scum this time! Just look at that egging on.
Hey, I have a really nice and comfy pocket. I know you want to go there, it's really great. It's the greatest. Greatest pocket on the earth, you'll totally love it, okay?
...no?
I always wonder about posts like these? Truth in plain sight or a reaction test? I lean more toward the latter for now but knowing how you pocketed us in fairy tail mafia there is truth in this statement.
@Kitbit What do you think of Shadow's post 63 and my observation of it?
Interested to hear your thoughts because you noted his hesitation to townread you.

I didn't see anything wrong with that post in regards to town reading Bur. Maybe cause I somewhat agree. And his reasons were not refuted. Bur asked a hypothetical "What if I told you..." without making his point.
@Kit What do you mean by Shadow's read on you being "practical"?
Assuming Shadow does not know my alignment, it is practical (ie more beneficial, helpful to town) to not assume too fast that I am town (because of the danger of pocketing/town-tunneling a scum). This shows a town/uninformed mindset to me.

Bur's train didn't feel like anyone pushing for a lynch but that doesn't bean there couldn't be scum on the train.
Hunt and Shadow's interactions does not seem like aligned pair. I get the feeling they're trying to figure one another out. T/T or T/S?
"Figure one another out," if true, inherently means T/T. Do you really feel they're trying to figure one another out, or do you feel one is trying to figure the other out and the other is trying to pocket them/pretend to figure them out?

@Gruffin: I'm feeling good about you. However, why do you think I asked that question?
I couldn't say with the current amount of information available. I could say that you did that to gauge my reaction as town, but there's also the possibility that you asked to make it look like you are trying to figure me out as scum. Hard to tell.

I'd say it feels more like they are trying to figure one another out. Shadow more than Hunt to this point. I could see the potential for a pocket in this interaction but I'm not seeing either as scummy as this point.

Mostly V/LA until Monday. I'll post if I have an opportunity, but weekends are always spotty for me.

V/LA means "Vacation/Limited Access". Basically that means that Cantrip has Real Life™ this weekend and won't be around. It's customary to announce if you expect to be gone for more than 48 hours.

I'd agree,#42 I can see why Shadow felt it was over explanatory but it didn't come across that way to ne (possibly due to familiarity). The point you understanding before accusing is another good point and something I could stand to work on myself.

What I'm getting at is questions like "Are you town?" don’t strictly come from town. For example, in a scum!Bur world, you could ask me that and say, "It was a reaction test to figure you out!" to make it look like you are gamesolving by fishing for reactions. As such, I recognize that question as NAI given how indistinguishable the motivations behind it are.
Vote Bur definitely scum this time! Just look at that egging on.

Does a pocket attempt have to be scum motivated?
@Gruffin: Regarding Bur, it's much easier for a townie to correct a bad read than scum. Sure, I could drop him back to null, but I appreciate his approach. And sometimes you get so much more from townreading people than scum reading them.
@Shadow Yeah, sure thing. Let's chat about Logic then. What's your take on his observations regarding you?
@Logic I'd like to talk to you as well as I'm not seeing what you're seeing in Hunt/Shadow's interactions. Could you pull up the moments where you felt they were trying to figure each other out?
Our early banter was awful and I don't like his response to Gruffin in 81. I also think town!Bur would have reacted to having 3 votes even if they're RVS votes. I don't like completely ignoring it.
Colder take Rhand is town despite the over-explaining in 34.
@Shadow Yeah, sure thing. Let's chat about Logic then. What's your take on his observations regarding you?
You mean regarding me and hunt? I'm not sure; like, I'll take the town read cause it makes my life easier, but it means jack all alignment wise. Calling a t/t interaction is something that comes from both alignments, for several different reasons.
@Logic: Have you by chance read any other games on this site? There's a few examples of games where either Hunt or I was scum, and I'm curious if you've seen any of that.
@Grapefruit: What don't you like about your banter with bur? I liked the cheekiness of it, do you have some RVS history that makes this one stand out? What bothered you about his 81 specifically?
With Bur the tone just feels different to the signup thread. Bur has been busting my chops for a while because I can't read him at all, but this is a bit different. It feels more forced I guess I'd say. Also I've seen Bur jovial in pre and post game, haven't seen the joking tone in a game proper yet. But that is a limited meta read so take it with a grain of salt if you have more experience with Bur.
As for he 81 it's more that I don't see anything alignment indicative in Gruffin's 62 or 65. Gruffin is competent enough as scum to ask those base level questions. It feels very much like an unearned town read (that appears earned if you don't double check). I just can't see how you can town read someone for the two posts Bur pointed to.
You're quick to jump on people. I understand the what's suspicious part, but why add the "Your own post is also an RVS post with no vote."? He did vote in his first RVS post.
Sounds like mudslinging to me.
You misunderstand me. I am aware Grape made a vote, and so did almost everyone who had "made posts with no vote" in the thread. I never once said Grape did not vote, nor did I say there was anything scummy about his post. I'm only asking Grape to clarify his statement and offering a counter that he made a non-vote post and therefore it is not necessarily scummy.
If grape was talking about players not voting, he should have said that rather than saying, specifically "posts without votes" but then the only person I saw that posted and did not vote was GJ so I still don't get where he's coming from.
You're the one quick to jump on me.
Ehm you start with “you misunderstand me” and end with “You’re the one quick to jump on me”.
What is it? Do you believe I am misunderstanding what you said or do you believe I’m looking for something to quickly jump on? Because those two statements don’t mesh.
I’m not sure what that says about your alignment tho.
Bur's train didn't feel like anyone pushing for a lynch but that doesn't bean there couldn't be scum on the train.

“Our” banter was awful? You think you were awful as well?
And how does not reacting to 3 RVS votes in a 16-player game make someone scum?
@Rhand I was using our because it was interacting with me. As for my quality I'm not really qualified to judge the quality of my banter because I of course think it's brilliant when it's probably stilted as hell in actuality.
As for the second part Bur is much more invested in playing the game as scum in my experience. I have seen town!Bur fold under light pressure while scum!Bur plays a much stronger game. Even with it being not a real thing I'd expect Bur to reply to it as town because of that meta quirk.

Really? I've never noticed that from Bur. But still, it was RVS. That's not real pressure?
God damn it, I hate it when I agree with GJ. I don't like a lot of Shadow's reasons for anything (I *feel* this way, I like his *tone*), it might just be early, but these are all really unqualified answers. I'm also coupling that with most/all of his posts are townclearing people. So bad reasons + all townclears = "made up".
That said, I hate shadow's interactions with Bur. The "Why am I town?" stuff reaks of coaching. Like "shadow stop, you don't have reasons". So that's something to look back on if we see either flip.
So many new faces. @Gruff/@grape, I'm definitely confusing the two of you already. Do you both play together often? How many time have you played with Kit/Bur? Enough to be able to meta read them this early?
I really like Kit so far. @Kit thoughts/past experience on Logic? Not able to really get a feel for him yet, and I'd like your thoughts.
@Rhand, do you think GJ is scum? What would that mean regarding his comments to Cyan and Burs wagon? You highlighted them, but is GJ bussing partners there, or trying to throw shade at town?
We arrived in Terris earlier this week, and, I have to say, I find the countryside beautiful. The great mountains to the north--with their bald snowcaps and forested mantles--stand like watchful gods over this land of green fertility. My own lands to the south are mostly flat; I think that they might look less dreary if there were a few mountains to vary the terrain.
The people here are mostly herdsmen--though timber harvesters and farmers are not uncommon. It is a pastoral land, certainly. It seems odd that a place so remarkably agrarian could have produced the prophecies and theologies upon which the entire world now relies.
@Mindreaver Gruffin, Kit, logic, Bur and I all play on another site with Proph. I have played 2 games with Bur and 4ish with Kit. Gruffin has played more with the others than I have there.
I'm reasonably confident I can read Bur, but I was super wrong on him last time when he was scum but was my top town read. So take my confidence with a grain of salt.
What do you think of Bur so far? You implicate him slightly, but seems more contingent on being paired with Shadow. Anything stand out apart from that one interaction?

He's null so far, other than that one Shadow thing. I'm fairly sure we haven't played together, so I'm not a great authority on his tone/meta.
Why is no one using their votes in a serious manner?
Voting analysis is gonna be difficult later on if everyone sticks to their RVS vote when RVS is over.

to my understanding of what pocketing means in mafia it only has scum motive though now that I think about it certain TPR's may want to pocket town as well.
So I mixed up two players. I mistook GJ for Hunt it was actually GJ and Shadow's interactions on Page 2 which felt like trying to figure each other out. Hunt and Shadow's early interactions (22-41) do not feel like an aligned pair or scum theatre though.
#22 - Hunt's entrance getting Shadow's attention ad well add everyone else)
#26 - Shadow asking Hunt if he gets to catch him this time around.
#37 - Hunt saying he might actually be looking forward to working with Shadow for once
#41 - Shadow relaxing they've never been aligned.
This just didn't feel like S/S they aren't really pushing on one another but it feels pretty natural and not forced.
@Shadow Yeah, sure thing. Let's chat about Logic then. What's your take on his observations regarding you?

I've only read the first five outages of Bare Bones mafia, it was a blind read. Other than that I am not familiar with the majority of the group here. From Bare Bones I remember you and Hunt and that's it.

What do you think of Bur so far? You implicate him slightly, but seems more contingent on being paired with Shadow. Anything stand out apart from that one interaction?
Voting analysis is gonna be difficult later on if everyone sticks to their RVS vote when RVS is over.
Why do you hate agreeing with GJ?
Why do you not like Shadow's townclears, but you're ok when GJ does it?
About the @Rhand: let GJ respond first pls
I've only read the first five outages of Bare Bones mafia, it was a blind read. Other than that I am not familiar with the majority of the group here. From Bare Bones I remember you and Hunt and that's it.
