Word had got out that the oldest Hearthstone card, and the most reliable of them all, Chillwind Yeti, had a strange dream last night, and wished to communicate the dream with all the other Hearthstone cards during the dinnertime. It was agreed that they would all meet in the Tavern when the Tavern Brawl was closed, to minimize interference from the great Blizzard up in the sky and the players during the Brawl.
The great Yeti sat on his golden throne and waited for all of the other Hearthstone cards to arrive. The basic cards, the cards that every new player has in their collection to start off with, came first, while the Classic set cards came second. Ragnaros was incinerating Amani Berserkers and Venture Co. Mercenaries left and right, calling them all "FUTILE INSECTS". Up then came the adventure cards and the expansion cards. Oh yes, the Tavern was very full that night.
The Yeti began to speak.
"Hello everyone, and thanks to all who had time to make it out here. I trust that you all have heard that I have had a dream last night, but before talking about that, there was something I would like to trust and confide with you all.
The truth is, I do not have very much longer to live. With everyone picking me in Arena for my strong baseline stats, and the ever-encroaching power creep that happens with every new set that is released, I fear that this old coot will not have much time to live. Pretty soon, I will one day disappear from the Basic set, and people will have to rely on my good re-creation Mechanical Yeti or my eldritch, power-creeping cousin, Klaxxi-Amber Weaver to carry the torch."
The Yeti cleared his throat. "However, Hearthstone has grown to become much more successful than when I debuted years ago. There are many new expansions, and more and more players are coming to play with every passing day. Mother Blizzard must be so happy to see the fruits of its creation thriving. My dream, however, deals where a dark future - a future that grows with every passing day."
The Yeti finally began to describe his dream.
"I dream of a torrid world full of four mana 7/7s, two mana 3/4s, and absolutely unpredictable RNG. I believe that it was the advent of the Old Gods which ushered in this terrible path we may now be headed towards. Yogg-Saron has completely stolen tournaments and won games where it the person playing it should have never won. Mother Blizzard continued the tradition with the release of Karazhan, as I have been burned alive by many Firelands Portals, which have swung the favor of many Mages in the Arena. I hope they do not continue this line of truly unpredictable cards."
That is where the Yeti ended his speech. "Thankfully, I believe that we will be in a less RNG-filled era once the latest expansion hits, but it was a vision I saw, and I encourage you all to take heed of it. May Hearthstone be in a better place once I pass."

Welcome to the 2016 MTGS Mafia Invitational. The players in this game were invited by popular vote from a list of all players who played in at least one MTGS mafia game between January 2016 and November 2016. Welcome players and spectators alike. Let's play some mafia!
Rules (inspired by Xylthixlm, stolen from Ged!)
[0] Please copy all PMs to Prophylaxis, the mod of the game.
[1] I will enforce the rules strictly, because I'm evil like that.
[2] Your vote must be in bold. You don't need to unvote before voting.
[3] If my vote count doesn't seem to reflect your vote, just revote.
[4] Once your death scene has been posted, you're dead. Dead people don't make forum posts. If you make a post after you are dead, I will hunt you down. For the record, I actually have a text file on my computer of all the people who've broken this rule in the past. I may or may not have plans for it.
[5] Post at least once every 48 hours. If you don't, I'll hunt you down. And prod you. After that you’ll be given at most another 48 hours or so before you are either replaced or modkilled. If you're going to be without computer access for more than 48 hours, let me know ahead of time either in the thread or by PM. Remember, people: if we work together we can have a replacement free game, but that can only happen with your help.
[6] No funny stuff like invisible text, tiny text, cryptography, or acronym claims.
[7] Don't edit posts.
[8] Don't quote PMs or messages from inside a QuickTopic.
[9] You may not talk outside of the thread to anyone about anything that goes on in this game. Period. Whether you're dead, or they're dead, whether they're in the game or not.
[10] Have fun and be nice to the other players and me, even if we don't deserve it.
I reserve the right to modkill any player who breaks any rule [5] or higher. This applies especially to [9], but also note it’s application to [5]. I do not like making people replace into my games. I do not like spending time looking for replacements. I do not like slowing down the game while we go through this whole song and dance of looking for a replacement. Modkills circumvent all these things.
If you EVER have questions about the game, PM me. I love having more ways to procrastinate, and caring to your every whim is one of my favorites. If you are confused, curious, or unsure about anything ever, let me know before doing anything stupid.
Keep in mind that this game is of Basic level complexity. You should not expect anything too crazy.

After the Yeti shared his dream with everybody last night, every card went to the Collection to sleep in order to get a good night's rest for tomorrow.
The sun rises, but the cards were alarmed by a loud screaming that happened in the early morning hours. "It sounded like it came from the Tavern!" the Pompous Thespian yelled, Everyone lept out of the Collection pages into the Tavern, and they saw something that they hoped to never see in a million years.
The first Hearthstone card, Chillwind Yeti, laid out in the center of the Tavern, with a spear protruding from his back. The cards all knew that he was going to pass soon, but no one quite expected him to be flatly murdered, in the middle of the Tavern of all things.
"Who were the murderers?" was the question on every card's mind. It was time to avenge the Yeti's death by getting rid of those who would disturb the peace of Hearthstone, once and for all.
Axelrod has been killed in the pregame. He was:

The first created Hearthstone card, and one of the most reliable cards in a new player's collection. You have one of the most solid stats for a Hearthstone card, and you are a four-drop that can hold and maintain the board. Your five health is very powerful because it means that you can tussle with two or even three smaller minions before dying. Even though you may be obsoleted by other cards with text on them once players get their hands on more powerful four-drops, you are always available to show a new player the ropes. Sometimes, the simplest cards are often the best.

Until you exuded silk, I thought you might be referring to Eco.
Is Seppel voting for pressure? He says no.
Am I voting for pressure? Nope.
Well, both of us have said we're not playing around. Either we're lying, which is not the sort of thing either of us lie about as town, or you're incorrect. Which do you think it is and why?
Just to let you guys know, I probably won't be as active in this game as I usually am. This is because I'm a strong town PR and want to keep my head down.
Are you sure it's because you're not preemptively trying to excuse your inevitable dropoff in Towny Energy, because you're mafia?
This is an off-kilter response to your pressure that you applied by repping a serious vote on Ecco for his 1st post voting Az that I saw no problem with.
But still she was there, who was there before Sauron, and before the first stone of Barad-dûr; and she served none but herself, drinking the blood of Elves and Men, bloated and grown fat with endless brooding on her feasts, weaving webs of shadow; for all living things were her food, and her vomit darkness.
Just to be up front about it, since this is the first game it's actually been on the line for me to read you, I'm going to insist that you not just entertain yourself with gimmicks and showmanship and bring you A game, or I'm no joke going to policy lynch you D2.
OK I'm caught up; kind of weirded out that it was that short for a game that started this morning. I need to recalibrate /hard/ to MTGS I think.
I think Eco's responses to Seppel/Azrael feel kind of overly, hm, not reasonable but overly careful maybe? I think there's a decent shot they're both town and caught Eco a bit flat-footed there. I don't /think/ he's aligned with either of them, and prooooobably Seppel/Azrael not knowingly aligned as well, though that's thin for sure given what I know about them. I still don't really see what they jumped on in his first post and I kind of want that discussion.
Vaimes could definitely be scum here; especially if me, Vox, Mal are town he might just be super tilted/sad already and IT'S SHOWING. No real strong feeling about it but of all the people in this game I've played with Vaimes the most and I don't /think/ I've ever been wrong on him?
That's all I got. Everyone should post lots and lots and lots and lots and lots more.
Oh right also it did occur to me that I'm conf-biasing on the Seppel/Az jump and I'm kinda seeing what I wanted to see with Eco, since they both reppted an unspoken mind-meld and I kind of wanted to see it too. So yeah mental note to tap the brakes a bit.

Newcomb, if tom won't cut his gimmicks when I ask him nicely, what makes you think he'll listen to you?
Also I just noticed you didn't vote for anyone. Don't give a weak scumread like that and not even vote to try and scare me. I might think you're full of hot air and decide to lynch you for it.

re: tom. Figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Depending on the roll, this has the potential to be a pretty tough game, and anything I can do to make it easier on me at the get-go, I'd like to do.
