Nono, you misunderstand what I'm talking about. With what we are talking about, there is no clause or name given to that mechanic/event? Mine is given a Rule/Edition. Like it's named under an article of a book. My death would be unrelated to me becoming a stump. I wouldn't be a dead stump if that's what you are asking. Zombie stump? hue
Oh, I got you. It's the 18th Rule, which I'm guessing is the same as yours - A Ferengi without profit is no Ferengi at all. But you already claimed the rule, just not the number, and muddied the tell since the Rules of Acquisition are public information, so I don't know how that helps you, exactly.
As much as I want to bring up what you say later right here, I'll attempt to forget it and treat this line-by-line. Okay, so you have reason to believe one kill last night points to no SK and your stuff insinuates the same. If Mongoose was confirmed not the NK and SC was, there could either be a 2nd vig or a weird redirection theory that we've already covered. But yea, you ultimately disprove yourself later in the post.
I don't see how I "disprove" myself, exactly, but I'll get there shortly.
I can still determine if you are fakeclaiming. I doubt others will use theirs should it exist. Heck I'm sure everyone learned from TS to be more picky about it.
Well, yeah. Good thing I'm not, I guess?
But he was the only one pressuring you about what you did. My advice to you if you are actually town, in the future, is to hold your cards close to you because 1. why would you be willing to trust/give into tom if you don't know if you can trust him and he's just not gambiting/fishing. 2. a reasonable explanation to give into demands like these if you are aware that your ability/target could appear scummy in ways but you want to stop that suspicion immediately. why would a target like Rhand, that didn't die, appear suspicious
I wasn't "giving in" to Tom. I told him that back then, and asked him why he wasn't pushing harder for a claim because I sort of expected him to. I had intended to eventually claim that I roleblocked Rhand after he came in to post, so telling Tom I would claim my action was literally not giving him anything. But more on that in a moment.
A reaction out of the thread? or to gauge tom? Like that's a shot in the dark to expect good things to come from a claim that wasn't warranted. Mostly you'd just make it easier for scum to figure out your part because you handed your stuff on a silver platter.
No, a reaction out of my null read lurker target Rhand. I roleblocked him same as I did DoTA last Night and was hoping he would come back so I could see if he was willing to claim that he was roleblocked. Then he vanished, and Citric didn't bring it up, so I figured he didn't use an ability or was a vanilla.
My feelings are mixed. My paranoia of two mafia teams has grown with your discrepancies.
I don't know what to tell you. I'm town, and I don't really know what "discrepancies" you're seeing.
My first reaction was but then I remembered you thought against it being SK in your other post above before I compiled this. Ugh. How the hell did you make the assessment above "As for the night kill stuff, I've just been thinking about it. Only one kill last night points to no SK. [Redacted] does the same (I'm not ready to claim that, yet)." when you literally could have blocked the SK? *****s weird.
Well, yes, it's possible I roleblocked the SK, but... Here.
Let me try to lay my whole thought process out.
1) I know something that means there's not likely to be an SK.
2) There were two kills on N1 and one kill on N2.
3) I roleblocked DoTA. This means:
--- 3a) If there's an SK, it's probably DoTA because I role blocked him.
4) col_mongoose was a vig-with-a-phaser. His phaser is missing. This means:
--- 4a) it was a one-shot item that he used on SC,
--- 4b) or he used it on someone else and it was blocked,
--- 4c) or it was taken from his corpse and someone else killed him.
Conclusion: Since there probably isn't a serial killer, col_mongoose probably fired his phaser on N1 which accounts for the second kill. Whether he shot someone else (DoTA, most likely) and it was reflected or he was the NK and he shot Sir Chris, I don't know. I lean towards the first one because mongoose would be a strange mafia NK, but they might have picked him essentially at random for all I know.
I don't understand how you think that's contradictory or doesn't make sense. You said yourself that the probability of DoTA being some kind of SK is very low, so I don't know what's so confusing here.
Of course, with Zinger pointing out that Half_Time might have mongoose's phaser, the whole thing gets more complicated and I'm starting to consider other possibilities. I'm just trying to use the information I have to figure out what's most likely.
Huh. Well, I specifically asked the mod if there was any feedback or anything for me N1 because none was mentioned and told no, so it appears you don't get notified you were role-blocked in this setup (unless you use an action that notifies you if it succeeds/fails I guess). But I'm also going to confirm this too. @Silver, you're saying you can RB multiple people on the same night a la N1?
EBWOP: I was hoping to get a reaction out of Rhand on D2 because I blocked him N1. But then he replaced out, but he apparently didn't do anything anyway so...
@Zinger: I'm real bad at cat charades. If I could give you a solid answer I would.
But either way there is a genetic enhanced human conspiracy going on after KoD race copped Tapping. Joked about forming a genetic enhanced human rag cult.
And at the last bit, will just have to be Patrick and not be interested.
Well, probably wouldn't have gotten anything out of Rhand because that requires a night action lol.
What do you mean by looking for a reaction? Like looking for whether he claims role-blocked or not, or how he went about discussing it, or what? I'm a little surprised you'd choose to use a role-block in such a fashion. Why DoTa N2?
Basically, yeah. To see if he claimed roleblocked, because if not he'd be Vanilla (apparently) or not willing to claim he had abilities at all.
DoTA was because Brinatoo said he had latinum yesterDay and one of the Ferengi is probably scum, mostly, but it was a spur-of-the-moment decision. I was going to use my other ability on Necarg instead, but he got replaced in the middle of the night and I didn't want to hit Zinger with it. Seemed rude to do that to a replacement.
Why are you (or people) making the assumption that it's 1 Ferengi that's scum as opposed to 2+ or 0? Pretty easy to setup-game if an assumption like that is so good, isn't it? Like we find a bad Ferengi and then the others are probably all Town?
[b]@Mods:[/b} My ability to participate in this game has been near non-existent and won't be improving anytime soon, I'd like to be replaced if possible.
Acknowledged; DoTArchon has been removed from the game. His slot is still in the game, and will be filled with a replacement as soon as one confirms via PM.
This is the end of the replacement list; please get the word out to your other sites that we need more replacements. Modkills may result if more replacements are needed & none have been added to the queue.
Opinions on the barely anything that's happened so far? Well lets see...
-The No Lynch vote was an obvious ruse that nobody should have fell for.
-Shockwave feels the need to tell everyone their questions are stupid. Don't know if it's role related or he's trying to play some sort of game.
-Sir Chris clearing shockwave is naive. Nobody should be cleared when the game just started and nobody has died.
-KoD is being KoD. Don't know if he's town or mafia yet.
-Getting the slightest of town reads off of Chris.
-Necarg is apparently going to spend this game talking about his dick. That should be fun.
-Killjoy and TappingStones are already going in with large multi-quote posts. Either going to be the most helpful town or scum that's trying too hard.
-I find Mindreaver amusing.
sir chris and mindreaver mentions here gives us a baseline for how he talks about townies. doesnt want to hard clear them, but hes fine saying positive things about them.
lines up pretty well with townKoD, but lets be honest here, those kod rules already pointed pretty heavily to an unalignment.
that line about shockwave is pretty wifomy. you dont have to squint super hard to see fable knowing shockwave's role and pretending not to.
especially putting the necarg comment in context.
noting that TS and KJ are listed together
Besides I'm fine focusing on Rhand because he feels more scummy to me than Kosa does. That whole situation looked like scum trying to catch a townie off guard hoping to get a scummy response out of kosa. Or rather TS started applying pressure I think Rhand was trying to take advantage of that and decided to pile on.
this one im unsure about. just picking two townies and comparing their scuminess is certainly a thing that could happen.
its possible one of the two is his buddy here. initial thought is its more likely to be kosa, but kosa is town. so probably so is rhand's slot.
1.No I'm claiming mafia. Okay now take one moment to let that feeling settle and don't freak out.
2.I believe we could get a mutual benefit out of this.
3.I was told Wheat was the best player here so naturally his thoughts are the ones I'm interested in.
this post, as well as fable seeming to really think silver was borg, should 100% clear silver from being on his team.
i need some help on #3 though.
@wheat who do you think might have told fable that you were the best player here?
not a lot there tbh. fable didnt actually talk about everyone, and many were mentioned in nothing more than an offhand way.
i will conclude he was not aligned with silver, kod, cythare, or wheat. but those are already in the towncircle.
im kinda at dota being on the first list, because... well, why the hell would fable even remember him to add him to a random list?
but other than the shockwave thing, not much to see.
Why are you (or people) making the assumption that it's 1 Ferengi that's scum as opposed to 2+ or 0? Pretty easy to setup-game if an assumption like that is so good, isn't it? Like we find a bad Ferengi and then the others are probably all Town?
Well, probably, but not definitely.
At least one Ferengi is probably mafia, because Fable was fishing for people who had latinum during D1 before he fake-claimed. And he said some stuff about complicated roles, which fits the Ferengi planeswalker stuff. So at absolute minimum someone with a role like Tom's is on the scum team and someone who cares about latinum is, if there isn't a Ferengi.
At the time it seemed pretty slam-dunk that at least one is scum, and it's still pretty likely in my opinion even though Tom's claimed to have a similar role and not be a Ferengi.
Also, I guess I can add that one of my abilities doesn't affect Ferengi. It'd be a little weird if the entire scum team was vulnerable to it, I'd think at least one would be immune or there wouldn't be much point in the restriction. But that's more set-up/mod gaming stuff, so blegh.
yeah, i didnt really find anything new. just thought id check.
im tryna put in some work with the sword of halfocles hanging over my head, but every little chunk i read is just reaffirming stuff i already believe.
shockwave is scum, ive identified a bunch of townies, and the rest of the team is somewhere in that muddy chunk between.

im leaving halftime off this list. my next post will be about the possibility of him being scum.
that will probably convince him not to shoot me.
@Tom:
Anything specific on Brinatoo make you think town? He seems very similar to GoldenEye, if I'm being honest, though it might be paranoia since I didn't catch him as scum there. He just sort of ended up in the PoE pool because there wasn't anyone else left. Paranoia is the only thing keeping him in my nulls right now.
And I think you can be lean town now. If that was a pocket, I fell for it.
@Chandra:
Hi, and sorry. I have no clue how much Mafia experience you have, but your slot is basically on fire and sinking due to a bunch of little things that sort of added up. We know your role name (assuming you are Brunt the FCA Liquidator and Brinatoo isn't lying, I guess), you're a Ferengi, and there were two kills N1 and only one kill N2 when I roleblocked you/DoTA. DoTA was coasting/lurking due to IRL reasons, but he'd park his vote on a town member then vanish again. When he was here he wasn't very +town.
Some of us (well, me and Tom) are in for a Shockwave lynch at the moment but I wouldn't mind lynching you, either, to be honest. Based on DoTA's behavior.
There's a catch-up here that I gave to Zinger, who replaced in for one of our other lurkers if you'd like to skip the 40 pages of stuff you weren't here for.
And thanks for replacing in, even if you die right away or something.
@D_V: because a normal cult is a bastardry role very shunned upon in MTGS and OP says Iso and Proph took care of bastardry removal. Ok, while we shouldn't trust on Iso for that matter (sorry Iso I still remember Legend of Lucian :hide:), I don't think we would have one. It doesn't make sense to.
Can someone please resume why is Shockwave scum? I'm a bit lost, myself.
I don't get the modgaming regarding "1 Ferengi must be scum".
Hi DotA's replacement. Whether is love of Mafia, love of Annorax, love of Star Trek or sheer masochism, thanks for replacing into a 2k post game where your slot is on the verge of being murdered. EASY TASK HUH
@Tom and silver and probably anybody else arguing that just shooting Tom doesn't garner thread reads, what do you think the point of me posing that question was?
@silver on Tom buddy buddy, why do you think my assessment is limited to strictly after I posed the above mentioned question?
@cyth, two things, I'm taking the quoting DV's response with a black ball thrown to me as you disagree with the Tom kill for not quite opposite reasons that DV gave (such that you disagree with the things he said and thus don't see it as a good kill). Second your arm waving is less you think I should kill Shock and more I need to kill shock?
@lost phaser is the kill, that would imply that I've either had a day kill that I've been sitting on for the last day and a half (not really accurate but you get the picture), or you believe the phaser is roaming. In either scenario there's a bit to account for that nobody seems to be getting to. But to save some time and trouble, no it's not from the phaser in question.
@wheat, my interactions with seppel are extremely limited. So much so that I might have misspelled his name. Needless to say I don't know what his school focuses on. But please elaborate on how it's a scum mindset to keep the focus of the Lynch on finding scum and using extra secondary kills to root out potential secondary threats as opposed to trying to focus the Lynch on hunting potential secondary threats much the same way fable did. Ultimately I can't see this being anything other than a playstyle difference, much the same way people would disagree on how to select other power role targets rather than being alignment indicative, but I'm legit curious as to why you think it is.
The argument isn't that shooting Tom gives no reads, but that lynching him gives more reads since he's here and actively participating.
For example, when you say "I want to vig Tom, any objections?" all objections are raised solely with you because you are the final arbiter of his fate. When D_V says "Excellent choice, shoot him." I'm not going to spend time trying to convince D_V that shooting him is a bad choice if I want him alive; that would be pointless. And the interactions end whenever you decide; if you shoot him, me talking to D_V about Tom becomes pointless.
Whereas if you started a wagon, you could see who got on and off the wagon, the timing of votes, and perhaps most importantly interaction between other people on the wagon. If I don't want Tom dead, and D_V votes him, you might get an interaction between me and D_V from it that you wouldn't get if you vigged him instead.
It's better to vig people who aren't interacting at all, because you won't get those interactions from their wagon. You'll just get "ok, he's lurking, vote: whoever." and if "whoever" flips scum, you'll have a damn hard time figuring out who was bussing and who wasn't because they were a shrug lynch that would've happened regardless of their alignment.
As for the rest of it, I don't have the slightest idea why you would focus only on my interactions with Tom (or about him, or whatever) over the last couple pages when there's like 36 pages of me interacting with him. Why would you do that?
But I was talking about the post I made immediately after you asked for opinions on vigging him, anyway. I still don't see how voicing the opinion that KJ and DoTA (well, Chandra now I guess) are better vig targets than Tom amounts to "actively protecting" him:
@Half_Time:
The game will be even slower with Tom gone.
Joking. Well, it's true, but that's not a reason to keep him alive.
While there is a chance he's an SK, I would want to know what potentially happened to his kill last Night. Hmm...
I guess he might have no-killed to throw us off since a couple people were suspicious yesterDay? I also have reason to believe there's not an SK, though, but it falls within the realm of set-up/mod gaming so I don't think it's trustworthy.
Personally, I would vig in (Killjoy, DoTArchon) because one is likely scum and neither are talking so lynching them tells us almost nothing, but it's your shot so the decision is ultimately yours. I think Tom is an okay target because I can't really read him, but at least he's here and saying stuff.
If by "actively protecting Tom" you mean "thinks DoTA and KJ are better vigs than Tom," sure.
It's your vig shot man, shoot who you want. I just don't think there's anything to be gained from a wagon on DoTA or Killjoy because they have very few interactions and even less interesting ones. I'd rather see them vigged than lynched. Is this an unusual opinion for some reason?
I mean, I sort of see what you're saying to KoD, but it seems less good to shoot someone because you think a lurker is going to wind up the lynch. I would want to shoot the lurker that might get lynched so we get a more valuable wagon with interactions and not just a "hey, he's lurking, let's shrug lynch him" wagon that could be full of scum bussing or something and no one would be able to see it.
These are my two posts on the subject. I'd just like to know what looks like "actively protecting" him to you, because it seems like a very strange interpretation of my posts to me.
@Brinatoo:
Actually, I see what you're saying. When I said that my roleblock on DoTA got me thinking about him being responsible for the second kill, I meant that I was considering that when I said he couldn't have killed SC if he was stealing latinum or something (and at other times), not that I currently thought he was an SK and he made the second kill on N1. Sorry for the confusion there.
Can someone please resume why is Shockwave scum? I'm a bit lost, myself.
Well... I cased him yesterDay. It amounts to some very strange statements he's made in regards to flavor that me and Mindreaver discovered and some posts Wheat and Tom pointed out. I can go dig up the old case and probably add some new points, but that'll have to wait until tomorrow sometime because I need sleep.
I don't get the modgaming regarding "1 Ferengi must be scum".
Basically, Fable probably knew about complicated roles that used latinum (he's the one who brought both up on D1). All of the claimed roles that use latinum as a resource are Ferengi, and Fable wasn't a Ferengi, so one of the Ferengi is probably a scum buddy that told Fable in day chat about their abilities.
The argument isn't that shooting Tom gives no reads, but that lynching him gives more reads since he's here and actively participating.

That's a dumb argument.
You could make the same case for not using a vig on anyone because of that.
Its like saying "Don't vig Fable, because we might get interaction from his wagon." Literally put a player in there, and that argument works.
I don't know how regularly I'll be posting this week FYI, TI 6 starts and I'll be there most of the time.

* Cythare throws a white ball at Half_Time, then throws a black ball at Half_Time. *
@Cythare, any chance you have access to information from Data's personal computer, by walking on his desk or whatever? I noticed you pointed at a computer earlier. Also, do you know or have access to information that the rest of us don't? I'm mod gaming a bit, but in my experience you nerf a person's ability to communicate in a game because you gave them information you don't want to make easily shared.
Also, third question: I'm horny, wanna ****? I'm not against interspecies erotica, It's the 24th century after all.
* Cythare looks up at Zinger and shakes her head. She then starts to shake her head again, then tilts it and points at the Borg field manual still on the floor from yesterday.
Cythare then raises her hackles and jumps up onto a bookshelf to get out of reach. *
The Borg manual was involved in the game of charades - it probably means that's all Cythare knows that the rest of us don't.
It was kind of a big thing, but I'll summarize as best I can. Spot's immune to Borg "conversion." On D1 Fable (with some help from Tom) was trying to push us into cult hunting (for the Borg), and Tom thought I was the cult leader. On N1 Cythare was targeted with an ability that failed, and received a message to that effect. Turns out Kosa is a Borg, but his alignment is (probably) town, and Cythare is immune to his ability which isn't a cult conversion but the other thing and he targeted Cythare with it. I kind of just want to say what it is but it's not my ability so I'm not really comfortable doing so. Something to do with building a wall, or pushing two houses together, was the charades hint.

Well I was ready to do a high effort post about halftime, but I just don't have a strong opinion.
He's still somewhere in my lynch pool by virtue of being outside of the circle, but other than an inability to separate personality from alignment* he's just sort of there.
I don't actually think I could reach deep enough into my bag of tricks to make an actual scum or town case on him.
He is a player that exists in this game.
I'll do shockwave in a couple hours.
*most notably regarding me, but also very much his scumreads on DV and TS.
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
brinatoo - feel free to disregard this one because, as i mentioned, its OOG and kind of gross.
brin is getting mentoring from iso. i can clearly see him getting scumhunting advice from iso. hes not quite using iso's electron cloud theory, but it could not be more clear that he is learning from iso here.
now, do you think scumbrinatoo asks iso how to scumhunt or do you think he asks how to avoid the mistakes he made in goldeneye?
do you think iso tells scumbrinatoo to act totally different from his usual meta just one game later?
no. because brinatoo is town and learning how to catch scum. and doing a decent job if i might add, opinion on shooting me notwithstanding.
FWIW, I'm half catching up with Iso(it's been roughly 4 years since I last played) and half asking him very specific questions in regards to his experience in a certain scenario. One example was I asked him about his experience with someone lying about their name as a vanilla then proceeding to do off-the-norm things. This of course was to give me a better feel for TS. Concerning my scum meta after GoldenEye, I asked him in our conversation if my play was noticably different from way back when, and he thought my GoldenEye performance was notably different when compared to games of the past like Starcraft where we were both scum together. He didn't specifically bring that game up but I'd imagine that was the most memorable game we had. In terms of town meta, I'm sorry but I can't help you there cuz idk how I've changed in 4 years. I'm curious if I'm playing similarly to my last town game of Seasons mafia since my role has/was cop-esque mechanics.
@Brinatoo:
There's still too much speculation involved with a role that we don't know so it's best to leave it alone until we get modconfirmed stuff. Hence why I think your block and my flavorcop is the best mechanical icing on the behavior cake that is DoT's slot.
HT should probably make a list of people he's looking over. I really liked Mindreaver's approach to a day-vig in GoldenEye. He drew up suspicion before he pulled a 180 and got a wagon on him. Ultimately it paid off and he killed my mafia team's strongest role. I believe he narrowed it down to 3 people and asked them stuff (idk off the top of my head what) but I'll probably go back and look at that approach. Maybe tomorrow. I'd recommend an approach like this HT. You already drew a wagon from yesterDay so there's that.
Tom's argument on the towncircle is exactly correct on every count.

im leaving halftime off this list. my next post will be about the possibility of him being scum.
that will probably convince him not to shoot me.
What's better, two dead scum or one dead scum
You're trying to use the extra kill on something that isn't killing scum when there's still scum alive. That makes it easier to defend with "well I wasn't hunting scum" when someone flips town. If you happen to find a neutral threat then scum benefit and you're the hero.
It's hard to use a kill as scum that will be attributed to you. You have to play so tightly on it to get away on it. And it leads to strange behavior, as with you.
CG. Coconut Gun. Shoot yourself with, a coconut gun.
@Wheat:
Honestly, it was probably Shockwave, he's the one who recruited H_T/Fable/KoD for this game, I think. It might not have even been in scum chat, though, it might have been something he said before the game started. I guess you could hop over to NGA and see if there was a thread for recruiting.
@Citric:
I wasted too much time today doing other stuff, sorry Citric. I almost want to make Tom do Shockwave, though, to see if his perspective aligns with mine from yesterDay. Here's what I've already said about him, though:
First few posts are fluffy / talking about past games with Rhand stuff that doesn't seem relevant.
#309 - his first "real" post, is a summary of the first fifty posts of the game.
Tries to figure me out.
Same with SC, actually. Says SC's self awareness might be a strong tell. Seems suspicious of him.
Gives KoD a "finger of not funny" for breaking RVS in the second post. His read on KoD is full of strongly suspicious language - "Bluntly refuses," "blows off," etc. Clearly Shock is not a fan of KoD's play up to that point.
Read on D_V is basically just a summary of what he did.
Reads DoTA's post and vote on me as RVS.
Read on Necarg feels detached, here.
Seems to like JD's entrance and aggression towards KoD, which makes sense since he didn't seem to like KoD's play either.
Wasabi_Pea feels like a summary again, no real info.
Killjoy summary also doesn't give a good idea of what he's thinking there.
Fable's KoD rules post bothers him.
TS is just another summary.
Thinks Mindreaver might be being intentionally vague.
I think #309 is vaguely townie, but there's a lot of just true statements in it without opinions.
Some more fluff, asks for Kosa's iso in #393.
#533 - Kosa iso response. Says there's an emerging pattern but won't talk about it yet. Says Half_Time, TS, and myself are not likely scum with Kosa. Leans town on him.
#584 - "Ugh, just realized what Fable is doing." Probably should've pushed him on that one at the time, but better late than never I guess. Says I'm not making him nervous, but wonders if there could be no Borg with two anti-Borg roles in the game.
Some more fluff stuff, though he asks Fable if this is worth drawing out...
#836 - Asks Tom to restate his case on me. Thinks Fable interactions are worth going over.
#865 - is this...? I think it is. He hasn't voted anyone in the game up to this point, not even Fable. But H_T is worth voting for because he seemed to know the meaning behind Fable's rant, apparently.
More fluff, but admits his name is Patrick.
#901 - Says he didn't know about the other GE humans being in the game but he was aware of them existing in universe because he looked into the flavor...?
#1026 - Suspicious of D_V trying to get people with anti-Borg roles to claim. Also seems dismissive of Cythare being a SK.
Some more fluffy / OoG stuff. Votes Fable to make up for the incorrect vote count or something.
#1071 - Now thinks TS is a neutral, not scum. Unvotes. Says the GE Humans might be a "rag cult"? But isn't he one of them, so wouldn't he know?
#1220 - Questioning Tom about his MTG breadcrumb. Claims he knew about Latinum (#591) because he looked up the flavor for Ferengi because someone said they were space goblins? Says he thought Fable was likely to be role fishing and wanted to shut him down... but how would he have known Latinum is connected to roles? Also, I don't think anyone called him out recently on not fully knowing what Latinum was. Seems like he's continuing a conversation from like 400 posts ago and drawing attention to himself in a very strange way.
Vote: Shockwave07
There's enough suspect stuff in here that I'd be comfortable with a lynch.
@Shockwave07:
What did you believe, at that time, Fable was doing when he claimed The Doctor?
How did you know Fable was role fishing when he asked about the Latinum?
Can you talk about the mysterious "emerging pattern" yet?
As an aside @everyone, if Fable's plan was to drown us in WIFOM and the scum have day chat, I think it's more likely that at least some of his scum buddies would push us to analyze him and his interactions than to try to get us to ignore them like H_T has. I'm not clearing H_T for that, just food for thought.
Just got done with a 9 1/2 hour day. Ready to kick back, but can't ignore the game.
@SilverCrystal: I'll answer what I can remember.
1) I recognized this as starting a Borg witch hunt, despite from what I stated in the thread letting those know in one game (game 3 of the STMU I believe) where a player was given a Borg immunity role even though the Borg was absent. Either he was stirring up WIFOM (and as scum this is far more likely) or legitamately afraid of the Borg.
2) Latinum is the main currency of the Ferengi (gold plated from the wiki), so likely he was trying to get a reaction from players of that race. Keep in mind Nog, Rom, and Nog could very well be town Ferengi, and obviously Brunt could be a scum one. I don't know Fable's knowledge of the show, but it was a possibility to draw a reaction.
3) This last point, the pattern on Kosa, I've lost track of, and will have to reread to pick the pieces back up.
Why do you think they get along so well? I'm starting to get the feeling KoD doesn't want Half-Time to leave the game... Kind of the opposite of his pre-game lynch agreement.
@Rag Cult: I might as well explain this as something got lost in the translation of your pbpa on a facepalm inducing level... Or maybe on my end.
But explanation:
A rag cult is something one of the players on NGA started back when she played on the old WoTC site. Players during the course of the game make an in game agreement to form a cult, acting essentially as one voter with multiple votes. The members of the cult have one rule, vote for the consented target of the cult (by group majority) or be voted by the rest of the cult for not cooperating.
Either way, was just joking about forming one with the genetically enhanced humans (including the one suspected Necarg). Wasn't serious.
TL;DR version:
Rag cult is a thing formed by players, not a role, and was never serious to begin with.
What's wrong, is his latinum awareness is inconsistent, throughout his posts. At least to my reading.
I get that it's on wikipedia. But part of me was just straight up interested as soon as he reacted to Fable mentioning it. If he's not ferengi, I think he knows somebody who is.
Yeah... Well, he can't be Ferengi, right? Isn't he Patrick?
The way he volunteered how he came by the Ferengi/latinum stuff without prompting is a thing, too. Not a big thing, but still a thing.
This was my case and the follow up conversation. For context, there's a huuge gap (like, a hundred and thirty posts) between Shockwave's post about the rag cult and Mindreaver's interest in talking about him, mostly due to the little spat me and TS had.
Hmm. I forgot Shockwave brought up Brunt yesterDay. And I'm not in that list. Could just be a coincidence, there's quite a few Ferengi and I'm sure he didn't do an exhaustive search. My character's pretty obscure, actually, so...
@Brinatoo:
Are you one of the Ferengi in Shockwave's list? (Rom and Nog) Feel free to not answer if you don't want to claim, just something to think about.
This is in response to an early KoD/SC argument, which is looking more and more like a town on town fight.
Shockwave does not attempt to glean anything from it. Just sitting back to watch.
Besides, even you have to admit, getting caught in a lie is going to draw criticism.
Now, being neutral doesn't have to be a bad thing, as I've actually seen an effective neutral turn a game around in towns favor, by playing as a town player would, but you seem to be against being a neutral.
I'll say this much, even if your role gives an embarrassing result after being targeted, Day targeted I assume, the flavor doesn't add up to what I've read about Jack. I feel there is something else here, but don't know what.
Right now I'm trying to figure out if you as a player are playing for or against town.
And again. He knows tapping is lying, but seems to know he is not mafia. This coming after tapping vehemently denying being neutral is a bit eh.
Now that we know tapping was somehow town, this is quite suspect.
The main thing for me is still his votes.
Besides a naked vote on halftime and the TMI vote on tapping above, shockwave has only placed two other votes this game.
The first, on fable after he was long dead:
You could do me as a break. I'd like to see your thoughts on me this game, plus I don't have many posts so it'd be pretty easy
I was moderately townreading your slot and you've done nothing to move the needle. The slot has just steadily gone down my list as I've developed stronger townreads.
I know some people probably like your (deserved) outburst at KoD, but I put little to no stock in emotional reactions.
Other than that, you've mostly just been catching up and haven't done much anything outside your scum range.
I luvs you lemonhead, but I'd join your wagon with little hesitation.
And with that, I'm officially done on high effort posts until someone tries to run up anyone in my towncircle.
This has been exhausting.
@halftime
I've thought it over, and I'm not gonna claim.
If you want to shoot me, whatever. I'm town.
Good luck avoiding getting PoE-lynched.
Shooting scum probably keeps you alive forever. And it has already been noticed that you didn't even want to try.
@Mod+everyone; FYI I am a forest fire fighter. What this means is that at some point it's within the realm of possibility that I could suddenly, and without warning, be dispatched somewhere where I'll have no cellphone reception. If I go MIA without word, that's probably why.
I thought I had the best posting restriction ever but it gets old after a while. Ah well. Hey D_V, how bout you put your D in my V? Eh?
Question why is there zero chance of a normal cult?
Because it is a specialty couldn't it be here?
I want to know why you think that with so much certainty.
But either way there is a genetic enhanced human conspiracy going on after KoD race copped Tapping. Joked about forming a genetic enhanced human rag cult.
And at the last bit, will just have to be Patrick and not be interested.
Thanks to Heroes of the Plane Studios for the sigpic.

What do you mean by looking for a reaction? Like looking for whether he claims role-blocked or not, or how he went about discussing it, or what? I'm a little surprised you'd choose to use a role-block in such a fashion. Why DoTa N2?
DoTA was because Brinatoo said he had latinum yesterDay and one of the Ferengi is probably scum, mostly, but it was a spur-of-the-moment decision. I was going to use my other ability on Necarg instead, but he got replaced in the middle of the night and I didn't want to hit Zinger with it. Seemed rude to do that to a replacement.
Acknowledged; DoTArchon has been removed from the game. His slot is still in the game, and will be filled with a replacement as soon as one confirms via PM.
EDIT: Effective immediately, Chandra's Fiery Cat replaces DoTArchon.
This is the end of the replacement list; please get the word out to your other sites that we need more replacements. Modkills may result if more replacements are needed & none have been added to the queue.

fable buddy hunting edition
sir chris and mindreaver mentions here gives us a baseline for how he talks about townies. doesnt want to hard clear them, but hes fine saying positive things about them.
lines up pretty well with townKoD, but lets be honest here, those kod rules already pointed pretty heavily to an unalignment.
that line about shockwave is pretty wifomy. you dont have to squint super hard to see fable knowing shockwave's role and pretending not to.
especially putting the necarg comment in context.
noting that TS and KJ are listed together lol. look at fable, giving up way more than he intended. zingcarg probably town.
im not even gonna quote fable's interactions with cythare. cythare is not scum with fable. this one im unsure about. just picking two townies and comparing their scuminess is certainly a thing that could happen.
its possible one of the two is his buddy here. initial thought is its more likely to be kosa, but kosa is town. so probably so is rhand's slot. this post, as well as fable seeming to really think silver was borg, should 100% clear silver from being on his team.
i need some help on #3 though.
@wheat who do you think might have told fable that you were the best player here? who ******* knows with these lists.
not a lot there tbh. fable didnt actually talk about everyone, and many were mentioned in nothing more than an offhand way.
i will conclude he was not aligned with silver, kod, cythare, or wheat. but those are already in the towncircle.
im kinda at dota being on the first list, because... well, why the hell would fable even remember him to add him to a random list?
but other than the shockwave thing, not much to see.
But that's more set-up/mod gaming stuff, so blegh.
im tryna put in some work with the sword of halfocles hanging over my head, but every little chunk i read is just reaffirming stuff i already believe.

@Chandra:
Also, Vote: Shockwave07
Can someone please resume why is Shockwave scum? I'm a bit lost, myself.
I don't get the modgaming regarding "1 Ferengi must be scum".
Hi DotA's replacement. Whether is love of Mafia, love of Annorax, love of Star Trek or sheer masochism, thanks for replacing into a 2k post game where your slot is on the verge of being murdered. EASY TASK HUH
I still don't see how voicing the opinion that KJ and DoTA (well, Chandra now I guess) are better vig targets than Tom amounts to "actively protecting" him: These are my two posts on the subject. I'd just like to know what looks like "actively protecting" him to you, because it seems like a very strange interpretation of my posts to me.
@Brinatoo:
Lurkers are impossible to flirt with.
Tom on the other hand is probably good in the sack. Just look at that mustache. Rowr.
I'd like to see the posts which convince people shock is scum, if anyone cares to quote them for me.
I'd also like Tom to fullclaim.

Don't suppose you'd like to share your reads with the thread, Shockwave? What's the game look like to you right now?
What's the "other thing"?
He's still somewhere in my lynch pool by virtue of being outside of the circle, but other than an inability to separate personality from alignment* he's just sort of there.
I don't actually think I could reach deep enough into my bag of tricks to make an actual scum or town case on him.
He is a player that exists in this game.
I'll do shockwave in a couple hours.
*most notably regarding me, but also very much his scumreads on DV and TS.

Honestly, it was probably Shockwave, he's the one who recruited H_T/Fable/KoD for this game, I think. It might not have even been in scum chat, though, it might have been something he said before the game started. I guess you could hop over to NGA and see if there was a thread for recruiting.
@Citric:
I wasted too much time today doing other stuff, sorry Citric. I almost want to make Tom do Shockwave, though, to see if his perspective aligns with mine from yesterDay. Here's what I've already said about him, though:
This was my case and the follow up conversation. For context, there's a huuge gap (like, a hundred and thirty posts) between Shockwave's post about the rag cult and Mindreaver's interest in talking about him, mostly due to the little spat me and TS had.
Hmm. I forgot Shockwave brought up Brunt yesterDay. And I'm not in that list. Could just be a coincidence, there's quite a few Ferengi and I'm sure he didn't do an exhaustive search. My character's pretty obscure, actually, so...
@Brinatoo:
Just sitting back to watch. possible minor slip here. shouldnt he not know if anyone is aligned with him?
The first, on fable after he was long dead: The second, on tappingstones before he could get modkilled: These votes are just so crappy.
The fable vote serves literally no purpose but appearances, and the tapping vote is so caveated as to be meaningless.
@halftime
I've thought it over, and I'm not gonna claim.
If you want to shoot me, whatever. I'm town.
Good luck avoiding getting PoE-lynched.
Shooting scum probably keeps you alive forever. And it has already been noticed that you didn't even want to try.
Great thanks Tom.
I thought I had the best posting restriction ever but it gets old after a while. Ah well. Hey D_V, how bout you put your D in my V? Eh?
