^yeah. "No alignment. Nothing." If he were Town, why would he tell us he's neutral? If he were mafia or neutral then he would say he's neutral. Right? I mean, why claim neutral if you're town?
The extra reason I provided wasn't to say that a townie wouldn't do it. It was a reference to the discussion yesterday where people were attacking cyan about trying to get his vengeance trigger.
A townie totally would try and activate their trigger, but I think that the lengths to which Rodemy actively affected the game to get his trigger is suspicious in my eyes.
So you referenced a stupid argument/attack on Cyan? Why does that make Rodemy scummier?
I agree what Rodemy did was at the detriment to the town, but why is it scummy to try and maximize his role? Rodemy clearly has been acting in self interest the entire game, what line is he crossing for it to become scummy?
Also, gaining a vig shot, sure it's provable, but it could just be masquerading the mafia kill, esp with a watcher/tracker, and another claimed vig shot. Combined with his typically mafia aligned rolecop.
This is acceptable, but did it really need a vote right that second without finishing reading the thread?
@Axlerod if Rodemy isn't a member of the mafia, then I'd like to say he's neutral, since that was his original claim. He said he was a neutral computer with no abilities. :l (Not finding the quote because I'm on mobile still, but I think it was quoted recently anyway?)
Wait... did the bolded actually happen? I don't have time to sift through Rodemy's posts right now. Someone fact check this please, because I think it's pertinent.
That did not happen. Godot is misremembering or misinterpreting.
Trying to direct a Vig. is a plan that always gives me the willies. There is just SO MUCH that can go wrong there. Unless there is a plan in place to WIN THE GAME, it's usually not a great idea.
Now, I'm not saying we can't come up with a plan. There's a fair amount of info out right now. There might, conceivably, be enough left to formulate something. But I suspect it's still too early for something really foolproof. Baring that, when we start telling the Vigs what to do, it just gives the scum all the information they need to know to do whatever it is they can do to mess with it. And there's probably something they can do.
I agree, but Rodemy needs to prove himself. Quite frankly, I still want to lynch him. We just saw a goddamn scum rolecop true claim and coast to victory when Karn did it in Return to Ravnica.
I think EP's plan of giving a short list of vig shot candidates is ideal (similar to what we did with DCIII in TMNT Mafia) so he can WIFOM the shot as much as possible. On that note, I am not a fan of Kamikaze insisting on Rodemy shooting a pre-defined target.
I could see, possibly, how the scum could have a role that gets activated by Town Iji targeting them. Giving them a Vig shot seems like a huge boon, but maybe.
Rodemy just doesn't come across as the long-range planning type though. And he didn't ask Iji to target him right away on D1, that didn't come out until later. If his whole plan was to try and manipulate that, it feels like it would have gone down differently.

He firstly lied about his ability, lied about his alignment, lied about having information he didn't have, which caused godot out herself.
I cited cyan as the correct way to handle this, and even though he had a pretty unique trigger, he didn't completely change his gameplay to activate it.

If he's mafia, there's one death. If he's not, there's two. ?
We could also tell him NOT to shoot anyone. Frankly that might even be the most prudent thing. Make him "rolecop" someone else, and we get another day/night to figure out the endgame first. It seems highly unlikely to me that scum would choose to NK Rodemy, so we're not necessarily losing an ability there.

I really don't know. We've only seen two claimed Vengeance abilities, and they both claim to be Vig shots. It's possible that:
1) One or both of them are lying
2) EVERY vengeance trigger, regardless of alignment, is an extra kill shot
3) Every town vengeance trigger is a vig shot
4) These two shots just happen to be vig/extra kill shots (and not necessarily town)

Oh, an Killjoy - I didn't want you to claim your vengeance (well I want a mass vengeance claim) I wanted a vanilla to claim a vengeance because I'm still confused why you think Cyan is lying.
I'm still all for Karn and Wildfire, but KJ needs to at least claim his vengeance trigger.
Eh? Yeah, you did say that though... Not sure if lie or misremembered.
Re: no alignment: It seems like he was saying that he doesn't know Iji's alignment. It was part of the whole "My ability is to know who Iji is." thing.

Given the fact that we're trying to get him to prove that he has a vig shot, it makes no sense to have this line of thinking. That's why we're trying to direct him. To see if he has it and to maximize effect. And to use that to help figure out his alignment.
Why, after all this, do you now not want him to shoot?

KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.
If he was scum, by causing Iji to target him, he also caused godot to waste a potentially important n1 action, which he could also use to his advantage by trying to clear himself.
I feel better about you having gone back and read you incredibly spare posting, but this is still stretching logic to me. Just look at the commas!

I haven't ever been advocating for him to "prove" he has a Vig. shot, so I'm not sure who you're talking to here. 1) Rodemy probably needs to shoot tonight, as he is clearly intent on using the shot. If we tell him not to and he's town, I don't trust that he will follow orders. If we tell him not to and he's scum, he'll just do it anyway. This could cost us the game in a late game scenario.

You may be right about Rodemy, but if you assume he'd disregard an instruction not to shoot anyone, why would you think he'd follow orders even within a limited group.
And can you explain your thinking on Killjoy here? Because (unless EP is scum with him) I have a hard time seeing a scum Killjoy targeting bomb-claimed EP to turn on an unknown vengeance ability for him.
Also incidentally, how is it possible that Seppel had any kind of valuable contribution in the Neighbor chat when he's practically bragging about how little of the thread he's read?

Where did Killjoy claim to have targeted EP?
I didn't say Seppel's contributions in the neighbor chat were "valuable", I said they were "genuine". He wasn't just going along with popular opinions and in at least one case he encouraged me to look at another player's scum play from a past game. Also (I think I mentioned this before as well), Megiddo was extremely townie in the pre-game chat.
If he was scum, by causing Iji to target him, he also caused godot to waste a potentially important n1 action, which he could also use to his advantage by trying to clear himself.

Um... tracker outted herself. Track didnt get wasted. She verified i targetted sep
Why are you blaming me for that?
He's treating, having his, ability, verified, as being cleared,,,,,,,,,,
So you are saying his move here was to bait a town power role to target him and lie his way into it in order to "prove" he was "town"? How does this gambit work to you, or was this not a gambit?

Okay, so assuming at the very least Rodemy's vengeance trigger is as he claims, we know that Iji exists, and has an ability that won't kill him.
In the case that Rodemy is town, there's no guarantee that Scum wouldn't just kill him. Scum!Iji isn't considered here because in no situation would Scum!Iji ever want to activate his ability.
Scum!Rodemy however, I think would feel pretty safe, as there aren't that abilities he would be worried about. Cop!Iji doesn't make sense, and he knows that he won't die fro iji's ability.
Worse case scenario, iji doesn't target him. Nothing happens.
Best case scenario, this happens:
Yes, or at the very least, he is not a killer. Since he released information on Seppel being in a neighborhood, we can deduce he either targeted Seppel or somebody in Seppel's neighborhood. None of those people died. Therefore Rodemy can get information and can't kill. Yeah?
Also, I don't see any town motivation at all as to why Town!Rodemy would claim this:
Let's lynch Deathjoey and have Rodemy shoot KamikazeArchon Tonight, so he can prove his vig shot. Everyone else is somewhat cleared in my mind, and KA has weak contributions + his townread is one of my more shaky ones.
I'd rather not be the target, but it's still better than giving Rodemy three choices, and I doubt he actually has a shot. I guess there are worse plans.
Okay, after some re-reading, here are my thoughts on who to lynch today.
DeathJoey is at the top of my list. Something has just seemed off about him for the entire game. I have no meta experience with him, so maybe it's just how he plays, but his "lurk into big posts that say very little" thing is giving me a gut feeling that he's scum. Vote Deathjoey.
Karn, I'm still seeing as just plain old town!Karn. He's been overly obsessed with Godot, but I can't blame him there considering I saw the same probable scum-tells that he did. His attitude has been consistent with town!Karn from every single game I've played with him, which is at least half of my games on the site.
My next biggest suspect is Seppel. There was definitely something off about Megiddo, and even his eventual switch out of his "reality distortion field" play, I was never quite allayed. Seppel's play has been unusually engaged for Seppel. And if any of the three Neighbors are scum, it's got to be him as DKL is my top townread at the moment.
Prophylaxis, I've definitely come around on, I don't think he's scum. Scum!Proph would be wasting time wagon-analyzing Cythare rather than providing actual analysis.
Killjoy would probably be my other choice to shoot tonight. Both HookerPunch and Killjoy have a history of looking scummy even when town, but both have come off weirder than usual this game.
EP and Rodemy I'm not certain are town, but I'm willing to let them live long enough to take their shots, provided they can follow direction. BCS, we shoot scum and come out ahead. WCS, one of them breaks rank and shoots town other than the person they were told to shoot, and we have slam-dunk lynches for the next two days.
Axelrod I'm reasonably certain is town.
Godot I'm willing to begrudgingly admit is town based off of her claim.
So I'd say lynch Deathjoey, EP shoots Seppel, Rodemy shoots Killjoy.

Also (I think I mentioned this before as well), Megiddo was extremely townie in the pre-game chat.
He's treating, having his, ability, verified, as being cleared,,,,,,,,,,
Are you proven town? Because I find it hard to believe that you're town.
There are cool people in the chat.
Megs left a present. Would you like to see it?
You're a commakaze
Also, I don't see any town motivation at all as to why Town!Rodemy would claim this:
Let's lynch Deathjoey and have Rodemy shoot KamikazeArchon Tonight, so he can prove his vig shot. Everyone else is somewhat cleared in my mind, and KA has weak contributions + his townread is one of my more shaky ones.

And this would be another of the valuable contributions you've made so far this game.
Does it prove you're Town? I'd like to see it then.
I don't have any of my notes right now. I'm probably going to do up a big meta-thing later.
@Wildfire: Again, can you give me your rationale for scum-Killjoy targeting EP last night?
