@mods: V/LA Friday through Wednesday.
I think my access will depend primarily on whether I can remember my password on this site and whether I can keep my tangents and snarkasm to a couple of lines.
This is awesome I actually get to cast the first manly vote.
Vote: Nachomama
I'd also honestly be slightly game for doing Iso for holding onto the DYH meaningless vote when he's actually trying to look like he's hunting Vi. That said, i actually have reasonable faith in Tammy to read Nacho, and I have faith that, as usual, they'll both town read me, so I can just make an insta town block this way.
Then we can all vote Iso.
Win/Win.
I'm a nice guy like that.
....mm? Making a run at the exact same person you made a run at last game?
I'm more upset that she's considering an easy awesome Town bloc and I'm not in it.
Actually I'm acting out on fermented frustration over how she voted me instead of scum in our last game together because god-knows-why since I was clearly Town and the scum in question was CES not being clearly Town (moving "clearly" two words forward could be debated).
I think you're overstating how much of this is strategic vs. petty personal issues.
Also even if I did have confidence in her ability to read me I still wouldn't vote her for that post. This really hasn't been a good faking-Town game for you so far.
@Cyan: What would you say that KoL is doing differently this game than what she did last game?
All of the above deserve a raised eyebrow. Albeit especially the bolded.
...mm.
@Vierni
Let me clarify. You think Thor is scum?

Considering I haven't moved my vote to Cyan, yes. You even win an e-cookie for pointing out why I voted him; trying to push me onto Tammy was extra.
To answer your next question, I think that DYH 59 is an important question for anyone accusing Goofball at this time, and I think that the anyone accusing Goofball at this time is willfully ignoring it.

I think that DYH 59 is an important question for anyone accusing Goofball at this time, and I think that the anyone accusing Goofball at this time is willfully ignoring it.

My issue with Goofball has nothing to do with her playing different in one game.

Which one of these actions did you miss in your careful reading of the game?
I don't think that KoL's accusation against me makes sense if he is scum and Vierni isn't. Either A)they're both scum(and Vierni is worse IMO) or B)KoL is misguided town.
Accordingly, I think that Vierni is the best place to look today.
Why is Vi being scummy? Because he accused you of reaching even though your meta says that you reach a lot early game?
Quick question; do you think "reaching" is a valid tell to even bother bringing up during RVS?
Because if no - why are you asking me this?
And if yes - can you explain that further and how it works?

I don't think it's a valid tell, but it's a perfectly valid response. What is Vi doing in his case on you if it's not called reaching?
Her calling you out for reaching wasn't a reach in and of itself; it was a valid observation, even thought it doesn't have much to do with your alignment based on your style of play.
Because I'm not known for thinking wagoning early and aggressively is a good idea?
Tell me more.
Gladly, though it's not really telling you so much as everyone else.

So this is crap. Posting it with any air of legitimacy is indeed reaching and deserves to be called out for making scumthing out of nothing. In addition, and adding to desCoures' point - given how Iso nearly got lynched D1 for more or less being himself, pushing him so soon seems shockingly unaware of how the first game went down and suggests that you want to force him onto the table.
The other comment was intended to imply Cyan, not you.
Given your comments about your pride on playing the same way as either alignment I'm not swayed by ~meta~ (besides that, I can't think of a game where we were the same alignment, so all the significant meta I have on you is "where's the mute button").

Cyan - When you posted this vote, the game was on page three. Also, I'm pretty sure I remember seeing you online the night the game started. Did it take you 24 hours to decide this bothered you? And did you have nothing else to comment on at all?
I didn't read all of the last game, you guys quote stripe way too much for me to read everything in a game I'm not playing, but from what I remember is that you didn't think very highly of the style of play of most MSers and almost didn't come back to play this one. All of the above deserve a raised eyebrow. Albeit especially the bolded.
Why did those responses raise your eyebrow? I especially would like to know why the first one was problematic, as I'm not in agreement with DGB that Vi looks comfortable at all. He's responding to me about something in the last game we played together where I *did* have a hard time reading him and it should have been more obvious about it than it was and I should have relied more on my gut for which of the pair was actually scum.
Why does DYH's question bother you? It seems a relevant observation and is going to try to figure out where Cyan's head is at right now.

It's enough for me because I don't think questioning him on it is going to bring anything interesting. I can't ask him why because I know why, and I don't think a speech on why reachouts in our site meta are normally townier than not will help things much.
Why are you just writing him off as town who got paranoid over getting buddied and not scum who picked up on something small and is just sitting there with his arms crossed and a frown on his face and not actually doing anything but holding up a "Vi is scum" placard but is not actually doing anything?
The reaction that he had seemed to fit the town personality of the curmudgeon that I got from last game. That doesn't mean I've written him off; it means that he made a townish-looking move early and hasn't done anything else too alignment indicative. Are you reading him as scummy?
I can buy the last part as in character, though to be honest the idea that I can be scum is absurd so I'm a little lost on the part before.
When people make statements like this with no publicly stated role information, it just makes me see them as more likely to be scum. Especially when it's an experienced player, which you clearly are.
Cyan - When you posted this vote, the game was on page three. Also, I'm pretty sure I remember seeing you online the night the game started. Did it take you 24 hours to decide this bothered you? And did you have nothing else to comment on at all?
When I made that post, the thread was still on page 1(for me). If you don't want to use the maximum posts per page function like a normal person, that is your prerogative. But trying to use that against me is fairly obnoxious. And I had opened the thread prior to that, but didn't read it closely enough that I felt like responding to anything, because it looked to generally be RVS at a casual glance. I saw that 40+ posts had been made, so I felt like I should actually read everything. But I didn't need to get too far into the thread before I saw something that struck me as extremely off.
I quite liked Vi's response to your vote on him.
I don't see how. It is awful.
Casting suspicion on someone in a mafia game is not discrediting.
When Vi gets lynched and flips scum, that is exactly what it will look like. And A)I know I'm town and B)I am fairly convinced that Vi is scum, so, I have already reached a conclusion that you apparently can't figure out yet.
This doesn't actually answer the question. Theoretically, no you can't know for sure when someone is bussing, but when you find two people scummy and one person is voting the other a suspicion of bussing is valid.
That's neither here nor there though because it's not taking into account a playstyle you are familiar with.
Do you actually think Vi is scum though? You haven't really said why or tried to get the focus onto him. You just voted for one post, which was rather benign, and then didn't talk about any of the later posts.
There is no way you can take a valid stance, this early in the game, that one person is bussing their scumbuddy. It is nonsense.
And I would not say that I am 'familiar' with any of your playstyles. One game of experience doesn't make you familiar with how someone plays. That having been said, I would say that Vi is acting radically different in this game than he did in the first Cross-Town Mafia, where he was town.
And yes, clearly I actually think that Vi is scum. This should be apparent in the fact that I have either alluded to it or flat out stated it in multiple posts since my initial vote. As for trying to push his wagon, I plainly told Thor to re-vote for Vi, I don't know how much harder that you can push a wagon than that.
@DYH: KoL seems a fair bit more assertive/direct in this game than he did in the original. But that doesn't mean that much, it's easy to just play sloppy when you know that you're a town power role and can never actually get lynched.
Well, there are the obligatory comments to be made about Cyan. This tunnel doesn't seem genuine at all given his play in the previous game. Nor does this.

Uh, yeah, this is Goofball. Nonsense has been her forte in almost every post she has made in this game and the last. How is this just now becoming news?
I'm amused that where lack of meta experience was a big deal in the previous game, the previous game's meta experience is now the big deal here.
Would you care to vote Mr. Thou with me, Tammy? I need attention too, and Nacho is just going to waffle on the sidelines, so etc.
---
But other than that, aside from DYH seeming to hang out on the sidelines I don't have a lot worth saying that hasn't already been said. There are at least two people who haven't posted yet and their input should be fascinating.

Also, why are the quote tags on this site so allergic to multiquote :/
In addition, and adding to desCoures' point - given how Iso nearly got lynched D1 for more or less being himself, pushing him so soon seems shockingly unaware of how the first game went down and suggests that you want to force him onto the table.
So...I'm supposed to *not* pressure him then, if I'm town?
Or, like, not call him out till he eases in or something?
I don't follow this - what is my supposed appropriate town action supposed to be if calling him out on something I find objectionable is not it?
Given your comments about your pride on playing the same way as either alignment I'm not swayed by ~meta~ (besides that, I can't think of a game where we were the same alignment, so all the significant meta I have on you is "where's the mute button").
1. I didn't bring up my meta, you and/or Nacho did.
2. Also, you want to "mute" me...so your plan is to call me out immediately...?
3. Isn't that almost like your Iso point, except changing the names of the players involved?
You clearly don't think reaching is a valid tell, so I was wondering what you thought Vi was doing.
Applying a scumtell without caring about the current gamestate and how it affects said tell.
I sort of thought I said that when I called her out for doing so.
I don't follow this - what is my supposed appropriate town action supposed to be if calling him out on something I find objectionable is not it?
You shouldn't have found it objectionable to start with.
Quote from Thor 92 »
3. Isn't that almost like your Iso point, except changing the names of the players involved?
To an extent, though the context is rather different. You tried to mislynch Iso several times in the previous game. Wouldn't that cause any hesitation at all on page 1?
Uh, yeah, this is Goofball. Nonsense has been her forte in almost every post she has made in this game and the last. How is this just now becoming news?
No one said it was news. Whether or not it is normal for KoL doesn't make it any more valid.
I'm amused that where lack of meta experience was a big deal in the previous game, the previous game's meta experience is now the big deal here.
This seems pretty rational given that we had zero experience with each other prior to this game. Now we have at least SOME experience with each other, though still not much to do much with. But something is better than nothing.
Uh, yeah, this is Goofball. Nonsense has been her forte in almost every post she has made in this game and the last. How is this just now becoming news?
Now, this, THIS is a splendid example of discrediting another player.
Casting suspicion on someone in a mafia game is not discrediting.
When Vi gets lynched and flips scum, that is exactly what it will look like.
I called You AND Vi scum. How would Vi flipping scum look like I was discrediting town-you?
It's discrediting my effort to get him lynched by just writing it off as my bussing him. That way when he flips scum, you don't have to acknowledge me as obvtown, you just get to try to mislynch me anyway.
Uh, yeah, this is Goofball. Nonsense has been her forte in almost every post she has made in this game and the last. How is this just now becoming news?

The reaction that he had seemed to fit the town personality of the curmudgeon that I got from last game. That doesn't mean I've written him off; it means that he made a townish-looking move early and hasn't done anything else too alignment indicative. Are you reading him as scummy?
I don't know. I find it odd that he made that vote based on the post made during confirmations and then didn't comment on anything else until Vi commented on the vote. Even if he thought the posts between Thor, kami and I were uninspiring, Vi had made posts as well, but there was nothing. It also really doesn't fit with his whole "I want Vi to be the focus of the day" schtick.
I looked back at the beginning of the last game and he did do an early "iso is scum" thing but he wasn't so stodgy and was a bit more interactive overall.
I don't care what anyone else says about anything. I am confident that Vi is scum, and am not interested in anything else that is happening unless it involves people voting/stating that they will not vote for Vierni. Why should I look at anyone else for now? So I can figure out that someone else might be scum too? I'd rather deal with one scum at a time, and that scum is plainly Vierni.

I saw that 40+ posts had been made, so I felt like I should actually read everything. But I didn't need to get too far into the thread before I saw something that struck me as extremely off.
I don't see how. It is awful.
When Vi gets lynched and flips scum, that is exactly what it will look like. And A)I know I'm town and B)I am fairly convinced that Vi is scum, so, I have already reached a conclusion that you apparently can't figure out yet.

So...I'm supposed to *not* pressure him then, if I'm town?
Or, like, not call him out till he eases in or something?
I don't follow this - what is my supposed appropriate town action supposed to be if calling him out on something I find objectionable is not it?
1. I didn't bring up my meta, you and/or Nacho did.
2. Also, you want to "mute" me...so your plan is to call me out immediately...?
3. Isn't that almost like your Iso point, except changing the names of the players involved?
Applying a scumtell without caring about the current gamestate and how it affects said tell.
I sort of thought I said that when I called her out for doing so.
Yes...and...?
To an extent, though the context is rather different. You tried to mislynch Iso several times in the previous game. Wouldn't that cause any hesitation at all on page 1?

Are you willing to comment on Cyan yet?
No one said it was news. Whether or not it is normal for KoL doesn't make it any more valid.
This seems pretty rational given that we had zero experience with each other prior to this game. Now we have at least SOME experience with each other, though still not much to do much with. But something is better than nothing.
I called You AND Vi scum. How would Vi flipping scum look like I was discrediting town-you?
Now, this, THIS is a splendid example of discrediting another player.
It's discrediting my effort to get him lynched by just writing it off as my bussing him. That way when he flips scum, you don't have to acknowledge me as obvtown, you just get to try to mislynch me anyway.
Mostly I'm trying to get a feel for you though.
