I think you might have misread D_V. I ran the numbers and got the same as Eco (well, 54.333% to be exact), assuming the Assassin plays optimally on D4.
The Guards know who the King is, but not who the other Guards are.
The King and Assassin are both in the dark.
Ergo, the king cannot be lynched. The guards won't put him at lynch threshold since they know who it is. The town is randomly lynching between Guards and the assassin.
The town has a (1 / (# of players - 1)) chance of lynching the assassin, and if the assassin is lynched he has the same chance of hitting the king.
Except D4, where the assassin has a decent chance of dodging the lynch and autowinning if you select purely at random. Because whoever the King votes in lylo is effectively the lynch and if he votes the guard that's game.
So, yeah. It's not really game-breaking, but it is a small amount better than a coin flip.
(I could host my spreadsheet on GoogleDocs or something if you want to look).
I already PM'd DV my full logic to avoid cluttering the hosting thread and talking too much about Tom's game. We can continue in the theory/clan thread, probably after the game is done.

I see that the board is very short on Normals at the moment.
Quite a while back I was working on a Speciality-level game based on Dark Souls II that Iso had glanced at. I can pretty easily water it down to a Normal for anywhere from 16-19 players.
If anyone would like to take a look at it, I think it could be ready to go pretty quickly.
