Lol on my tone being "giddy" then revised to "manic". Giddy is the accurate one, btw.

Nice to know you're reading carefully enough to miss iLord's entire claim and the rather large discussion of it, including his flavor. You posted after all of that, by the way. Who's not paying attention again?
You "missed" it when it was relevant. That's the gist, duder. Day late and a dollar short is nothing more than CYA.

I was successful in my roleblock against you. I have no assurances that you attempted to do anything, but I have no breathing impaired this morning, and I do know my 'block will stop an NK. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one.
There's nothing in iLord's early game that convinces me he's worth the lynch here. I see his tone changed a bit later in the game once he came under fire, which is a null tell. I see several people pointing to several different reasons, none of which seem to match up to each other. I see dubius-at-best evidence that does nothing other than paint him combatitive. If that was enough to get a lynch going, Iso and Arti should both be long gone by now.
I'm uncomfortable with his inability to explain what his ability does, but that's about it, and that's not enough to lynch him.
I'm also pretty sure that some of you on this wagon were busy telling me off when I tried to point out the discrepancy in Void's flavor versus his claim when that thing went down. Funny how things change like that...
--->DJ
Here's your post prior to iLord's lynch, DJ. Looks like you saw at least part of his claim. You even commented on flavor discrepancy without connecting it to your own role.

He didn't claim my flavor name. I saw the claim just fine, but I wasn't available when someone opened up on him about 'equinox' versus 'solstice'. He was dead before I could respond to that.
If that's your smoking gun, nice job. Pbpa later to prove it.
Nice attitude, PM. You went from 0-to-obnoxious in about 3 seconds flat today.
Feel free to report me if you feel I've been out of line. Otherwise, suck it up.

You're right about the simplest explanation. You rb-ed a townie.
I thought I was scum pulling a gambit?
If you are town (or even if you're scum and didn't prosecute the attempted kill) then that will get sorted fairly quickly.

The smoking gun is the roleblock and no need for an undertaker.
Well my ability triggered again because it is Spring. AlphaInsidious is town.
Walk me through this. We weren't in spring when we went to night only when we came into the day Zindabad said it is now spring. How can you use a spring ability when we weren't in spring.
YOU'LL NEVER GET A MAN WITH THAT ATTITUDE YOUNG LADY
Kpaca's suspension is up tomorrow, but I don't see what you're waiting for other than being stubborn. Kpain gave enough information for you to spot any discrepencies.
I don't see what's to be gained by watching you and kpaca go "no you" for several pages again.
Its simple. If Brinatoo was able to target then Kpaca would have been able to target also. So 1. We can confirm Brinatoo is telling the truth. And 2. Kpaca would have targeted me, confirming I'm town.
Its simple. If Brinatoo was able to target then Kpaca would have been able to target also. So 1. We can confirm Brinatoo is telling the truth. And 2. Kpaca would have targeted me, confirming I'm town.
I think you need to do some re-reading. Also, shouldn't you know what kpaca could and could not have done? Beyond that, I don't want to get bogged down in the same standoff between you two.
Lol, sorry to burst your bubble but you might be the paranoid cop. Because my results are guaranteed sane in my pm.
I have a condition that needs to be met in order for a player's alignment to be revealed to me. I did not target him as this is a random copping passive ability. The day needs to start as "Spring." The day started as spring
Archmage Eternal is town.
To save time, AE. This is the post where Brin claims his ability.
You know what? You're right. There was a bunch of talk interspersed in there about equinox vs. solstice. iLord posted (#2732) his claim, and you immediately called him on it. You didn't vote, even when AE called you out on it. You guys jumped on him for a bunch of posts about it, until he clarified that he thought it was wrong from the mod, and then the talk shifted completely over to his abilities, how they matched Artifice's, and how he couldn't explain how they worked, or why he couldn't get clarification from Zindabad on it. That was what drove his lynch.
I chimed in on that part right before you hammered him. I should have paid better attention to what was happening prior, but with how the game (and my life) was going at that point, I missed a lot. I wasn't able to give more than a post here and there, so I addressed things as I saw them. I'm sure i missed more than that.
Anyway, iLord was then lynched, and when Zindabad posted about the mix-up at the start of the next day, I realized I was the other side of the mistake. I posted in-thread, claimed, and immediately questioned him on it. I wasn't trying to hide a thing...it's all out there in the open.
Take it for what it's worth. Either way, your case is conjecture with no proof. How is that enough for you to be positive on anything? I certainly don't have any indication that someone targeted me with anything overnight, so I can't give you anything further there.
Okay then, thrilled to still be alive, especially considering the lovely role PM info dump that eliminates me as a threat.
Just submitted my Sunlight activation for the day.
Here's where I am at the moment:
Archmage Eternal - As I explained yesterday, I'd place AE in my "Do not daykill" list at the moment.
DJ Catchem - PM's reveal is compelling, but certainly not damning. You can't rule out PM as pulling a scum gambit here, nor can you rule out a successful doc protect as a reason for no kill. This especially is true when you consider the 2 deaths the other night were both by the SK, and PM did not roleblock DJC that night.
Wessel - Exceptionally hard for me to put a finger on. Will require some more digging.
Pale Mage - The kind of player you really want to blindly follow, and then hit yourself for it when he's standing over your body at the end of the game.
I am wary.
Brinatoo - Likely town.
Xyre - Was on my radar yesterday for killing; he now has the added benefit of the PM reveal showing he was telling the truth about his ability. What is that worth in a game with mostly randomized abilities to alignments? Still under consideration.

What do you like about the lead? What about the case do you agree with?
My entire ability set is that I'm a double voter in spring/autumn. (PM is right...I didn't mention spring the first time. I should have, although I would have thought it was apparent with the whole 'solstice' thing he was looking at as a lead on iLord at the time.
While we're on topic, have you listed your other night actions yet this game? I'd like to see who else you've targeted, and when you did.
--->DJ
Asked and answered earlier. You are so not reading the thread at this point.
I see no one has come forward with a concrete alternate explanation for everyone waking up this morning. I'm shocked.
Also, I'm pressed for time. If we're going to do a mass claim, today is the best time to do it if we care about having perfect information for the remainder of the game. Regardless, I'm claiming in full at this time:
I be Radamel, Herald of Frost, Elemental of Cold! (*Theme music*)
I'm an owl. I like to picture myself as the owl from the old Tootsie Pop commercials, but feel free to use your own imagination.
I have two abilities. Both are WINTER and active and night.
Sudden Chill (+3 +5 +7) is the roleblock.
Winter's Might (+0): Freezes the Aeon Clock until the next Night (or until I croak if that happens first), so it can't move forward or backwards. This ability is a one-shot.
Last Night it was Winter, I targeted DJ Caughtscum. Let's lynch him. The end.
==============
There's some other stuff since I last posted I'll address later, but in the mean time I've got ten (count 'em TEN) black market pseudo-Azrael points (cheap knockoffs) for anyone who can tell me why I said Brinatoo, kpaca, and AlphaInsidious are all probably town. Hint: It ain't behavior (or rather, it's aside from behavior).

Look at you driving things so hard. (The fifth grade called, btw, and it wants its' namecalling skills back.)
Here's what I see:
-You claimed a roleblock. No one died. You're theorizing that A equals B and I was clearly the one who was attempting to off someone.
-You have zero proof other than screaming "Occam's Razor!" until you're blue in the face.
-You haven't made a case. I've been in this game since it started, and you've ruled out 99% of the rest of it to prove your current point. If anything, you went off on me for not trying to nail iLord for for claiming a different flavor role than the one I have, and not saying anything until, you know, THE MOD ADMITTED AN ERROR AND I QUESTIONED HIM IMMEDIATELY IN RESPONSE.
-You're acting like an overcaffinated jerk all of a sudden to drive it home for some reason.
I literally don't have another thing to say to you, so I'm done responding to you. Keep screaming.
You'd prefer I keep trying to argue with him, while he's busy ignoring what I say and acting like a spoiled child here?
This accomplishes nothing except raising the static level. And considering that every time I log in here, there are 3-6 "guests" viewing the thread, I'm positive that scum is benefitting from that static.

One of the only real confirmed townies is your lucky target for the night? You're trying to coast here. Waiting on your reply to my last post.
@AE: Kpaca is going to be his typical useless fluff-posting self here. I'm convinced that the direction I was headed in yesterday was right, but I'm not convincd that you were the correct vig anymore, considering Brin's 'safe save' and content as of late.
When I speak to PM acting like he is, it's because up until now he was very cool, rational, and well-spoken. Today he's transitioned into hyperactive, inflammatory posts and manic taunting. I get that he thinks he has something, and I can see the writing on the wall, but it doesn't mean channeling an 8-year old is something I'll let slide.
I'm totally ready to answer him if he presents a case. I won't continue to verbally spar with him if there's nothing further to discuss.
Thank you for clarifying the kills thing. I guess I mis-understood.
As for Brin, I had him or AE as provable via vig yesterday. At the time, I thought AE was likely lurking scum, but that's changing today. AE continues to be active here (even if he's stubbornly only tangling with Kpaca), and while I recognize that Brin may have gotten 'lucky' on his cop, it's a little too late in the game to give that a pass, and combined with his lack of content lately, I'm willing to vote to push the case.
@wessel: everyone is sorta just having their own private party. It's as fascinating a late game as Ive been in, and thats without this added layer of pm/djc drama for me to try and figure out.

Most of us have claimed or are about to claim, as you noted. Besides, if you're asking for a mass claim, you should be the first to deliver - what I like to call the "put up or shut up" addendum.
I'm very willing to go first as soon as everyone agrees to do it.
What I'm trying to find out is if there is any other possibility regarding the no NK than that PM roleblocked DJC (other than that the scum deliberately did a no-kill).
I'm already claimed.
Clearly there are other possibilities, because we had no scum NK 2 nights ago, and PM did not roleblock anyone.

You're suggesting that I'm a lynch candidate to prove PM's claim that he roleblocked me, when it doesn't prove that I actually tried to take an action at all? And you don't even have him as confirmed town, so you're willing to give uo a double voter in the late game to get an idea if he's scum or not?
How does that make any sense? Do you actually have me as scum for any other reason?
Jesus, people...I'm posting at 8am, and there are 4 'guests' viewing. Is anyone willing to look at the fact that this is a phenominal smokescreen for scum to hide behind?
This is so frustrating.

Well, that line made me more comfortable you're scum.
Well, that line made me more comfortable you're scum.
Feel free to explain that one. No, really.
I re-read his posts, and I have a feeling that I was reading into his crappy behavior and hyped attitude backwards. He wouldn't be over-reacting like that and pointing at his results over and over if he wasn't positive it meant something. If he was trying to spin something, I really believe he'd be more cautious, and he's not at all. He's hanging it all out there and screaming at the top of his lungs.
It's absolutely a feeling that I get from reading the tone of his posts. I can't really come up with anything more than that on him. Nothing else he's done so far stuck out at me one way or the other, so this is all i have to go on. I'll gladly re-read if I get the chance.
Again, I already did; it was right at the start of the last day, as soon as I got a response from Zindabad regarding the deal with the iLord flavor mistake.
Once more:
I am Kae Kae Zhun, Regent of Seasons, Elemental of the Solstice. I win when my team successfully destroys all scum.
I have a single passive ability. It does not move the clock:
-During Spring and Autumn, I have two votes. I can split the votes as I see fit between players or put them on one person. I cannot enact a situation where two players reach lynches at the same time.
Paraphrasing is far less suspicious to me than direct copying and then pointing out a paraphrase - especially when the scum have direct access to the real text. Your post reeks of "hey, look at this guy, isn't he strange, why don't we kill him?"
(As for DJ, I'm still having a hard time believing zindabad would put in a scum double voter, even one that works only half the time. It would be very easy with only a bit of planning to use the ability to essentially end the game early. Part of this is a lack of clarity in the "almost all roles are randomly assigned" bit, which I suspect will be the subject of angry discussion after the game no matter what.
I think I would rather follow my reads than ability interactions. I don't trust Pale Mage enough to believe he couldn't be running a gambit.)
@ DJ: That bit read like severe buddying - "he suspects me, but I don't hold it against him."
@ Wessel: You should ask the mod. Unless you're lying, of course.

Not even a little, huh? That's some remarkable confidence with so few players left for a supposed town player.

I quite disagree. While unconventional, I see no reason that a double voter couldn't be scum, especially within the confines of this setup.
It's contingent on the player with the double vote actually lasting until late in the game, and we also don't know any other potential limitations on the mafia to offset that possible advantage.
Also, if you look at Void's Eclipse ability:
Eclipse [active/day/one-shot/any season/+100]: Night descends and the Day ends immediately.
That's about 5 times as powerful as a double voting scum, considering it could be used as a swing of two deaths, saving a scum from being lynched and then getting an effectively instant nightkill.

Well, yeah. After this game I'm going to yell at zindabad no matter what, just for that ability (and for what must be really screwy randomization rules - e.g. if Alpha and Asian could both be scum, the game would have exploded, so there must be some limitations, but he didn't explicate those limitations, which makes all inquisitions into roles a crapshoot because we're forced to game the mod, which is absurd).
The way I see it, the most likely scum team at this point is Wessel and DJ, although their interactions don't support that, which bothers me. I could also see a Wessel/Pale team that have an ability, like a daykill, sandbagged and hope they can turn this gambit into a win tomorrow.
I definitely can't see a Pale/DJ team, since Pale must know he's only gotten by this far without serious examination because there are so many more overtly-scummy people, and he's not going to make it to the final 2 without getting the once-over. The only other player I could remotely see as scum is Brinatoo doing the buddy-cop, but if that's the case then I'll tip my hat to him because I'm not reading him as scum from his posts. And the most likely scum partner for him is Wessel anyway.
It's possible there's some risk to keeping DJ - if we don't leave Spring, DJ and his scum buddy (Brinatoo?!) could try to play a hidden ability and swing a lynch first, but if Wessel isn't scum I think we shoot DJ tomorrow on principle anyway, so it seems a bit moot. But that feels like a corner case.
So bottom line is I see Wessel as the most likely scum on his own merits, the most likely scum buddy for the two other possible suspects, and a less risky proposition than DJ (since the latter has demonstrated his abilities beyond a reasonable doubt, and it seems less likely he's sandbagging additional abilities).
Now, after all that, responding to Wessel:
Quote from Wessel »
Look at this post at one of the scum role PMs. The mafia role PM states, 'You win when your team controls the lynch, or when such control is inevitable.' The town role PM never states 'your team'. I think it is extremely likely that DJC made a scumslip, using his own role pm as example.
For emphasis. I don't buy the "team" thing as much, but I think it's worth noting. I certainly don't think it's "extremely" likely though. I think it's extremely likely the sun will rise tomorrow, but that's about as far as I'll go with superlatives like that.
Why is it unlikely that the scum would have a double voter, if, as people said earlier, most abilities are distributed at random?
See above, re: nonsensical role distribution rules.
Why all the distrust of Pale Mage all of a sudden?
Casting suspicion on Pale Mage all of a sudden?
Leaping to Pale Mage's defense all of a sudden, eh? Rather reactionary.
Bottom line is I think Wessel is the best lynch candidate and won't move my vote to DJ unless someone profers a damn good reason to do him first.

What about the fact that a mislynched DJC loses us a limited double voter, but a mislynched Wessel loses us what appears to be the closest thing to a doc we have?

What about the fact that a mislynched DJC loses us a limited double voter, but a mislynched Wessel loses us what appears to be the closest thing to a doc we have?
Because I see only three possible cases:
1) We mislynch today, they shoot someone tomorrow, and pull out their hidden ace to win tomorrow during the day/twilight. There's no way he protects anyway.
2) We mislynch today, they shoot someone tomorrow, but they don't have an ace and were just banking on everything working out, and between the lynch and vig tomorrow we catch at least one of them and put the game out of reach, since it will be pretty obvious who the last scum is through process of elimination. Having a doc is inconsequential.
3) We successfully lynch today, and the game is essentially out of reach. Having a doc is inconsequential.
That, and like I said, I'm suspicious of the fact that he hasn't gotten any results and only targeted players whose identities we already know. It's more likely he's faking than DJ, which increases the odds a scumteam with Wessel has a hidden ace (increasing the odds of case 1 above if we lynch DJ and he's town).

Kpaca's suspension is up tomorrow, but I don't see what you're waiting for other than being stubborn. Kpain gave enough information for you to spot any discrepencies.
I don't see what's to be gained by watching you and kpaca go "no you" for several pages again.

Nope. Winter only.
I think you need to do some re-reading. Also, shouldn't you know what kpaca could and could not have done? Beyond that, I don't want to get bogged down in the same standoff between you two.
Nothing else to say in regards to DJ, you two?

Best lead in a long while. Thanks PM.
Did you claim your ability(s) already or would you kindly fill me in?
I support this measure.

--->DJ
The end.
==============
Yeah...it was really clear. Sorry I missed those three words.
Why should anyone? You've clearly figured it out, right? Or are you finally understanding the difference between theory and proof?
--->DJ
I appreciate the critical thinking. However, can you explain the bolded? I may be missing something there.

Did you get a result of any kind last night?
--->DJ

Most of us have claimed or are about to claim, as you noted. Besides, if you're asking for a mass claim, you should be the first to deliver - what I like to call the "put up or shut up" addendum.
Plus I still think you're scum.

I'm already claimed.
Clearly there are other possibilities, because we had no scum NK 2 nights ago, and PM did not roleblock anyone.
Huh. You're right. For some reason I completely forgot about Tezz...
Wanna keep watchin this djc thing tho.
The best part is that after I worked out my anger and cleared my head, I looked at things as they played out so far, and I don't even think PM is scum at all. Misguided and pushing a lynch with nothing but a hunch, but not scum.

What are: Things that caught scum say when caught with weak logic.
Strengthens PM's case.
What are: Things that caught scum say when caught with weak logic.
Not even a little, huh? That's some remarkable confidence with so few players left for a supposed town player.
"Team" is an awfully interesting choice of words.
Unvote, Vote: DJ Catchem
I quite disagree. While unconventional, I see no reason that a double voter couldn't be scum, especially within the confines of this setup.
It's contingent on the player with the double vote actually lasting until late in the game, and we also don't know any other potential limitations on the mafia to offset that possible advantage.
Also, if you look at Void's Eclipse ability:
For emphasis. I don't buy the "team" thing as much, but I think it's worth noting. I certainly don't think it's "extremely" likely though. I think it's extremely likely the sun will rise tomorrow, but that's about as far as I'll go with superlatives like that.
See above, re: nonsensical role distribution rules.
