Looks like it's getting to be time for me to break out something to change the momentum and save AI's life.
I'd absolutely love to see what that is. Maybe this time, you won't leave out all the relevant posts that make us think he's scum.
Since I don't know when I'll be able to post again, I'll go ahead and Unvote, Vote: AsianInvasion, but I want it on the record I am still suspicious of SO and am still waiting for his responses.
I'm also still waiting on responses from Some One.
I really don't like his continued absence and I really don't like that people don't see not paying any attention to the thread as a scum tell. I get that you think scum are all about paying attention and trying to blend in, but lurking and taking shots from the sideline is scummy as hell. And that's pretty much what Some One has been doing. He tried to pick apart my "defense" against a case that wasn't even on me, instead of figuring out what was going on to know whether it was a good case.
That's not townie, that's opportunistic but lazy scum. He doesn't have to pay attention because as long as he sticks to the shadows others don't pay attention to him.

Sorry I haven't posted in ~ 5 days. I have been reading, and thought I had posted more recently than that, but apparently not. For starters, Unvote: Zch.
@Dc: If the deadline is reached, will it be a no lynch or a closest to lynch?
The answer to this, and SO's response (or lack thereof) will likely dictate where I choose to place my vote.
He said that AI was pushing things too far, but the "fundamentals had merit." That's a little fence-sitty to me.
It was. I felt that AI's initial push was valid, but didn't like where he took the case later.
My second point about his non-committal attack on Nakamura to start could be explained by his vig claim as trying to not bypass the Town, but 1-shot vig is easy to claim as Mafia and who uses a sniper rifle indoors anyways?
1. He isn't mafia (at the moment, at least). Doesn't necessarily mean he's town, though.
Okay. I'd like to know how you reached this conclusion, but as you say further down that it involves unrevealed role info, I can wait.
2. He's withholding important info. Most likely from both his flavor summary and his role mechanic claim. Traitor is a possiblity, but not the main one.
Nothing in my role pm gives me any reason to believe that I am a traitor.
One in three is a decent chance. It's the smaller probability, but it is certainly not ignorable. In mafia terms, it is more than enough to allow for reasonable doubt. It isn't in sync with you saying that Zch might just be "convinced" earlier.
I happen to think that 2/3 is good enough odds to play.
Also, consider this, RafK: when Zchinque says that Nakamura is "scum or a liability", then what is he assuming Nakamura to be when he says that she is a liability? I think that this is Az's point.
That there was always a chance that Nak was town? I can't talk on behalf of anyone else, but I'm very rarely 100% certain in my reads.
Ok, let's start with a summary of Zchinque's argument that caused all of this. How is this for a summary?
"In the event that Nakamura is town, then we should kill her anyway, because she is a liability and a potential mislynch at lylo."
Strawman. The way you present it here the determination of alignment comes before the kill.
What you're saying here can be roughly rephrased to "[implied]If Nakamura is scum, we should kill her[/implied], but if Nakamura is town we should kill her anyway."
I prefer:
"We should kill Nakamura. She is likely to be scum. If she is town we're not losing much, and ridding ourselves of a possible liability."
Now, let's break it down:
-"In the event that Nakamura is town": Earlier, I did think that he was looking sure that Nakamura was scum from the neutral thing, and my original argument here was that, in which case, why was he exploring this possibility. I'd note that he responded (with the one-in-three thing) to say that, well, actually, he isn't sure so he can make this assumption. Not that people seem to recognise that.
As mentioned above, I am always willing to doubt my own reads.
-"then we should kill her anyway": A questionable statement, obviously. But let us look at the reasoning next.
See above.
-"because she is a liability": This (and, TBH, much of his reasoning) can be described as fearmongering. He says that, if we leave her alive and she is town, then she is still a danger, a weak link in the chain. That is, of course, where his alternative comes in - kill her now.
-"and a potential mislynch": As already addressed, this is bad logic. To avoid miskilling later, we miskill now. Doesn't achieve a lot, and doesn't really address the liability problem much more than make it a reality.
-"at lylo": This ties in some of the fearmongering and bad logic from earlier. A mislynch at lylo is the worst time to mislynch, so let's avoid this specific one by accelerating lylo!
I'll just do these three together.
You're arguing as if my stance was that I believed Nakamura to be town. I think I have already stated quite clearly that this is not the case.
Then there is the question of why he is even thinking about lylo at this stage.
I still strongly disagree that thinking (far) ahead is scummy. It might be Az' goal to identify all scum day one, and make the rest of the game pro forma. My goal is just to win the game.

There's a pretty obvious townie explanation you may have wanted to consider here.
@dkd- What does dC's slowness to respond have to do with you removing your vote? Whether it ends in no lynch or closest to lynch being lynched, you should stll have your vote on someone.

Don't worry, AI. We will lynch you before we no lynch.
Somehow this sounded less reassuring than intended. Probably because of the usage of "will" rather than "would."
Anaklusmos has not done anything pro-town, but this is actually typical for him regardless of alignment. He should be given some more time to stew before he's pushed too hard (see Duel Monsters Mafia for a good example of town-Anaklusmos coming under pressure early).
And why is the town taking any direction from Vez? That is like America and China following the lead of Sierra Leone. They might have something important to say, but the chances are pretty slim to none.

I'd rather see Zch hang than AI, but it didn't and doesn't look like that's going to happen, so I unvoted. AI is at L-3 at this point by my count and, like you said, we still have a few days. I'd like to have my answer before voting - that's all. It's no secret that I've wanted AI lynched, I've been rather upfront about that. I just want to know what type of deadline we are dealing with here. What's wrong with that? And, if it is a no lynch deadline, and SO hasn't checked back in by 1-2 days prior to that time, it's a good indication that he's using the deadline to lurk behind - and I may vote him for it.
My vote isn't anywhere for the time being because I'm waiting to see what type of deadline we have here, and how SO reacts.
@AI- First, thanks for the explanation. I've heard that before, for sure.
Second, well, I am voting for you, so you feel you're the best choice. The only other I support is Some One, and I don't support that completely just yet. Meaning I'll not be voting for him if he doesn't get a chance to respond.
Also, some info for ibug from experience: Some One lurks in every game he plays, regardless of alignment. For that reason, it shouldn't be used to determine his alignment.
I feel like that is a scum move with all of the people that all of a sudden went O hai your right! Totally! Yeah!!!

Don't count him out just yet. He's so insanely scummy that just trying to analyze him sends me into apoplexy, but I'm going to try to hold back my gag reflex and do a calm and thorough deconstruction on him.
If that doesn't work, I don't know what I'll do. My head will probably explode.
@Dc: If the deadline is reached, will it be a no lynch or a closest to lynch?
The mod has repeated time and time again that the mod is generally not available on weekends, and will most definitely not be available on pre-release weekend.
As for your actual question, I should have made that clear. Inconclusive days at deadline will result in a no lynch.
Esper Simperer; Even the court homonculi need someone to look down on.
Jund Fangirl; Few things can describe the bliss of the fangirl's cries fading to silence (broken by occasional munching sounds).
Grixis Emo; 'Why should I go out there? They're all uncaring zombies! *sniff* No one understands me...' Bant Wageslave; Behind every successful knight is a corporate drudge doing his taxwork.
Naya Overenthusiast; Because there is such a thing as too much enthusiasm.
Since no one is actually bothering to go back and reread it, I'll say it straight-up.
My rolecop ability is considered a "Special" ability which I lose if the politician under blackmail dies. I have no information regarding this player aside from the flavor that my friend in Indonesian intelligence (who provided me with and taught me how to use the soporifics to begin with) is blackmailing him and he has a room somewhere where I take my target after being drugged. Using this ability causes both me and the politician to target the player I interrogate.
Can you guys please stop lynching the obviously townie player for superficial reasons that have painfully clear townie explanations? Pretty please? With cherries on top?
@Dc: I meant no offense, and have no problem. Thank you for clarifying.
@Az: Can you tell me how AI's arrogant, holier-than-thou, antagonistic attitude has a "painfully clear townie explaination" please? I can't see it. To me it reads as a scum caught for something he doesn't think he should have been caught for. So instead of trying to explain his should-be townie mindset for things, he tries to beat the people on his wagon into submission. Why would a townie do that?

If you go back and read his history, he was zealous and browbeating the other players before anyone ever laid into him personally. He actually tried to browbeat DYH and I into posting more, because he thought we weren't pulling our weight. There were several other examples of that which I also noted in my PBPA.
He's a bit zealous. So, when other players tried to make an issue out of him letting Syrenz go (which was fine, it was just an activity taser-prod), he got indignant. Oftentimes that's a scum tell, but I don't read it as one here, not when you have that aspect of his personality creeping out long before he ever came under attack.
He doesn't tolerate bad play very well. That's it.
Did you now? Well, I must have missed it, even when I just re-read to look for it. Perhaps you could point it out to me? I would greatly appreciate it.

Zchinque- So scum it hurts. If we lynch AI and he comes up town (somehow) I'll take a second look at this one. I've never seen you push a lynch this hard before, even as scum.
WoD –crappy vote rationales, overly combative. Orly? Please do feel free to back this up with analysis.
I think this is the first time you've said anything about me all game, and now I'm scummy. Please point out how my vote rationales are crappy.
I'm only combative because I've had to push so hard for this wagon to take off. I think all my points are valid, and that AI is a good, solid, lynch.

Which I don't really believe anyway.
vezokpiraka – acting more patrs self-interested, than scummy. Again, early claimers are usually non-mafia. I think his role is exactly what he claimed, and that he's been trying to play for both sides.

So, when other players tried to make an issue out of him letting Syrenz go (which was fine, it was just an activity taser-prod)
I don't think that going from "IF I HAD A DAYKILL THAT I COULD KILL BOTH HIM AND ME I WOULD SO USE IT" to "meh" qualifies as an "activity taser-prod", and the fact that you can say that is seriously pretty terrible. Have you actually read his posts?
@Manders: I realize people have said that lurking is Some One's meta. That's fine I guess, but it doesn't excuse trying to take shots without paying attention to what's going on. SO tried to skewer me without realizing what was happening in the thread- he didn't care enough to. Doesn't sound townie to me. Also, it's been more than three days since his "Let me catch up and I'll post!" post. That's enough time for him to have posted something.

The way Some One and Zchinque (to a lesser extent; he made a content post but it's self-saving and doesn't even address who he thinks we should lynch) have made themselves scarce since the deadline hit is extremely worrisome.

Yes, I've read through his posts during the Syrenz wagon 2-3 times now. I've seen him post things like:
If Syrenz does not start playing a more active role in this game, I would very much like to see him dead.
I was convinced, but now I just don't care about your stupid wagon any more. You can continue to stand around and be irrelevant for all I care.
Or you can just be lazy and do absolutely nothing. Yeah progress! Go town!
It was a binary proposition for AI all along. Either he wanted Syrenz's head on his mantlepiece, or he wanted him to step it up. And he was gritting his teeth the entire time.
Do you think he was faking all that disappointment with me and DYH, with Syrenz, and with his wagon? Because it's a consistent theme throughout.

It means there is no mental filter in your brain; you say whatever comes to mind. Generally this makes people really easy to read.
I feel like that is a scum move with all of the people that all of a sudden went O hai your right! Totally! Yeah!!!
FOS Raf, Anak, and TFF
Your gut, or my gut/play?
Awesome, you finally are using your day chat! Took you long enough!
Unvote Vote Someone, not letting you lurk away.
Also, I refuse to lynch AI on the grounds of him or no lynch. A) Because he isn't scum, but B) because he is NOT the best option.
Also,
Astound me, how is he the best lynch? Please explain. Or be daykilled.
If I thought it would actually do anything, I would.

Actually, I did answer it.
Yep.
Preach it bro.
Don't count him out just yet. He's so insanely scummy that just trying to analyze him sends me into apoplexy, but I'm going to try to hold back my gag reflex and do a calm and thorough deconstruction on him.
If that doesn't work, I don't know what I'll do. My head will probably explode.
The mod confirms that you, sir, are a smart aleck.
Don't see it. You can always just vote again, you know.
The mod has repeated time and time again that the mod is generally not available on weekends, and will most definitely not be available on pre-release weekend.
As for your actual question, I should have made that clear. Inconclusive days at deadline will result in a no lynch.

Some One (5) - DYH, Syrenz, AsianInvasion, Deaths_Vampire

With 21 alive, it is 11 to lynch.
Deadline is 29 Sep, 6 days from now.
Jund Fangirl; Few things can describe the bliss of the fangirl's cries fading to silence (broken by occasional munching sounds).
Grixis Emo; 'Why should I go out there? They're all uncaring zombies! *sniff* No one understands me...'
Bant Wageslave; Behind every successful knight is a corporate drudge doing his taxwork.
Naya Overenthusiast; Because there is such a thing as too much enthusiasm.
How coincidental.
Is this correct or are you counting i.bug's intended vote (without listing his name for some unfathomable reason)?
@Azrael: Why did you exclude TFF and Syrenz from your list of reads?
@Az: Can you tell me how AI's arrogant, holier-than-thou, antagonistic attitude has a "painfully clear townie explaination" please? I can't see it. To me it reads as a scum caught for something he doesn't think he should have been caught for. So instead of trying to explain his should-be townie mindset for things, he tries to beat the people on his wagon into submission. Why would a townie do that?

Forgot them.
No read:
Syrenz- Dunno. Low content.
Leaning scum: TFF. Anti-town, and bad hair-trigger gut votes. Joined AI wagon, late.

The reason I switched was the same reason that DKD switched.
A card game about Presidents. Stabbing each other. With knives.
Meh.
The way Some One and Zchinque (to a lesser extent; he made a content post but it's self-saving and doesn't even address who he thinks we should lynch) have made themselves scarce since the deadline hit is extremely worrisome.
*nods* I think DC's wording/response implies that he thought whoever posted that was genuinely frustrated, not putting on an act.
Yes, I've read through his posts during the Syrenz wagon 2-3 times now. I've seen him post things like:
It was a binary proposition for AI all along. Either he wanted Syrenz's head on his mantlepiece, or he wanted him to step it up. And he was gritting his teeth the entire time.
Do you think he was faking all that disappointment with me and DYH, with Syrenz, and with his wagon? Because it's a consistent theme throughout.
AI hates laziness. Hates hates hates hates hates it.
Agreed.
I've give my blessing to a Someone lynch, whenever I read back I find some other post of his that's singularly unimpressive.
Let's get it over with the day and start doing crazy things.
And I have to agree that Someone is a better lynch target. Even if I turn scum.
