Before you make your decision on how that works, if you say no, I'm going to make us go through a thing of everyone donating one at a time and waiting for RobRoy to verify before the next person donates, and won't that be painful for everyone? Since the workaround is there, I suggest you say yes
No it's not. I get the active aspect of the person I hit. So if I want to know what someone I've targeted and am suspicious of is doing tonight, I'll retarget them. If I wanted to know more of someone's aspects, I'd retarget them.
Hey, after this accusation became anything more than a collection of mafia buzzwords when kraj made his post, I gave a more in depth response where I say what I've done, say what barning is and show that the two are different. It would behoove you to look at that.
Arguing about the definition of barning does not change what you actually did. Which, I agree, may not have been 'barning', sticking to the strict definition, but was most definitely scummy.
I don't believe that thre's an upside to assuming two scum. That's why I'm not operating under that assumption and I don't think there's a townie motivation for doing so.
I think, however, that there is a scum motivation for claiming LyLo, when a scum is being wagoned.
Here's what this is resulting in for me. My concerns are, in order:
1) Don't get lynched
2) Get the scummiest player lynched
3) Get information that will be of use tomorrow
But frankly, I would be willing to vote literally anyone else and do literally anything (within the rules, of course) to make sure I don't get lynched. If, hypothetically, three people claimed scum and voted someone else and I had only the choice between getting that person lynched or getting myself lynched, I vould vote that other guy. Because there's a possibility it was a gambit and he's scum. There's no possibility that I am.
However, I don't think I've been all that cavalier today. I'm very possibly playing differently than you or most of Salv plays, but that isn't necessarily reckless and it isn't scummy.
Your hypothetical is just horrible, and your supposed wish to not get lynched is only convincing if somehow you know, unequivocally, that this is, in fact, LyLo. How do you know this, hm?
Yes. I happen to think that the person who can say "Now we're lynching X" and get something like 3 or 4 votes to move onto them has a lot of sway.
...the only person to say anything of the sort was Seppel himself. In all cases this happened it was because he shifted to one of many suspects and everyone decided that one suspect was as good as another. Seppel himself had little to nothing to do with it.
My claim argument against you is, broadly speaking, two-fold. Your claim is not believable and your behavior does not match your claim. These both lead to the conclusion that you're lying about your ability.
There's literally nothing I can say about this but...
1. Wrong. There is nothing unbelievable about the claim, especially corroborated as it is.
2. Wrong. There's no point in paying too much attention to an ability that is never going to be usable.
And secondly: Are you trying to say that you remembered every detail that mattered about every dead person from the middle of day 2 to (at least) day 4? You never once had to look at the original post to grab roles, but at the same time you completely forgot about rider? That boggles my mind.
I didn't need to remember every detail. Item abilities were irrelevant. Kill/vote/protect/cop abilities were uncopiable. Meaning that up until the night cpe and Pale Mage died, there was literally no one worth copying, and certainly not at the price of 6 points the town probably had better uses for.
I'm not saying you have a secret way to gain points. I'm saying that you don't have the 6 cost ability.
Oooh, nice backpedal. Now it's about the 6 point ability. Which for me to be lying about, Cyan would have to be lying about. Which would require us both to be scum, one of whom needlessly claimed a false second ability for his scumbuddy at the beginning of the day under literally no provocation. A second ability that we somehow both further claimed was completely unusable.
Occam's Razor is very put out at being wilfully ignored.
This was a random aside because it felt weird that your two aspects had nothing to do with each other. Even though this has nothing to do with it, I just remembered that Raf's abilities are kinda similar in that they only sync up with a lot of stretching.
Yeah, I'd skimmed your post because I had class in like half an hour. Man why didn't you say this as soon as I started this whole thing?
I said this the very next time I posted after Cyan revealed my ability, after I was back from the weekend.
I also note that you don't seem to have changed your opinion much, despite one of the base underpinnings of your supposed case having just fallen out from under you.

It's been made very clear that I can make use of a point to give us an extra lynch, and that I need the donation of a point to do this today. If someone has a point and hasn't come forward with it, there are two possibilities: either they are scum and don't want to enable the extra lynch, or they are a townie who believes they have a better use of a point than the lynch. Either way, I want them forced out into the open. In the first case, I want them dead; in the second case, they have a large amount of 'splaining to do, because a point for a lynch is huge at this stage of the game.
Given that just about everyone has already claimed, I don't see much of a possibility for the second case...

Your argument here is that what, I am attacking someone a practically confirmed townie was suspicious of? This is scummy, even though I'm not doing it to avoid attention or stay in the background? You tried to use a mafia term instead of an argument, I showed how it doesn't make sense or describe what I'm doing, and you're just saying that what I did was scummy without giving a reason. That's how scum make cases (also bad townies who are basically in a rut), because it doesn't find scum.

There is. If I was saying "HOLY **** DON'T LYNCH ME YOU'LL LOSE THE GAME WHAT ARE YOU DOING" that's how scum use LyLo (That's also what townies do so it's a non-tell as to alignment). While my hypothetical is a very extreme one, why is it horrible from my perspective? If I have to choose between lynching someone I'm completely sure is town and someone I'm 99% sure is town, my choice is an obvious one.

Reasons behind my opinions changed because of your responses, but when it's as broad as "I think you're scum and I don't believe that you have the ability you claim" then you could say it hasn't changed much.
I think that's everyone for the point donating. Just waiting for Az to post a vote count and RR to confirm that he does or doesn't have any points. If he does have point(s) we need to choose a target.
If RobRoy shows up and has no points, I intend to vote UI, and in the meantime pray that this works out.
I can't realistically see an alternative lynch getting off the ground, and in truth the only way there's 3 scum without UI is going to be something like DV, dC and Cyan (not completely impossible, but less probably than a scum group with UI). It bugs me that UI's role PM says absolutely nothing scummy (and almost absolutely nothing period), that's the only thing, against which I balance the fact that UI wasn't lynched when he was at -1 earlier and my day 1 read that he's scum. It's hard to say over the past day or 2 that he's been especially scummier than anyone else in this fog.
Esper Simperer; Even the court homonculi need someone to look down on.
Jund Fangirl; Few things can describe the bliss of the fangirl's cries fading to silence (broken by occasional munching sounds).

It wasn't a bad idea. I have no idea how you justify even in your own mind arguing that we should have run around going "la la la let's ignore points" with our eyes shut instead of exploring every avenue of information available to us.
UI crossed his bad leg over his good leg and crooked a bushy eyebrow at the crowd surrounding him.
"Well. You'd better get on with it."
A sallow-faced marine cocked his sidearm and leveled it at his forehead.
UI sighed and pushed the sidearm aside with a finger.
"Not that way."
The sallow-faced marine growled and swung the pistol back into place. UI caught it in his fist and gave him a level look.
"The least you can do is send me off with a little style, hmm?" He reached into his pack, and removed a long coil of rope with a grappling hook on the end. He handed one end of the rope to another marine, with a meaningful eye to the ceiling.
The other marine looked to grizzled-face for permission, who nodded. Then he hefted the hook over a support beam running parallel to the ceiling.
Meanwhile, UI was busily tying himself a noose on the other end of the rope, whistling tunelessly under his breath. Then he propped up a stack of crates on the cargo room floor, climbed atop them, and pulled the knot tight.
A morbid grin gripped his face. "It's been a real pleasure, gentlemen. I'll save you seats in hell." He saluted, and stepped off the edge.
Uncle Istvun, Corp. Sam O’Connor, Database Controller
Corp. Sam O’Connor had been in the military for far too long. That pretty much summed up all his problems. That, and tobacco. It was tough to spit with your hostile environment suit on, unless you wanted to breath in the stink of it in your suit all day. Of course, Sam O’Connor had been in the marines long enough he was getting used to that, too.
Current Abilities-
You own the database. The owner of the database controls the following ability:
Select a non-negative number less than or equal to 22.
You will learn what abilities an undisclosed player in the game currently controls, who corresponds to the number you selected. However, you will not be told their identity. This ability will not reveal unselected aspects or items.
Win Condition: The scum must die.
Uncle Istvun, Corp. Sam O’Connor, Townie Database Controlleris dead.
Night has fallen. You have until midnight on Monday the 21st to submit your choices.
It’s been ten years since you were last home. You can’t help but wonder if fate played a hand in this, to bring you hear now.
When you left, you were little more than a girl. But your psychic abilities made you valuable, allowed you to help run communications between units when interference was too heavy for any other method to get through. Until, one day, it stopped. You blacked out, and when you woke up, you could remember nothing, and your mind was eerily…silent. You remember the sensation of being utterly and completely alone, in a way that you had never been before. Too disoriented for combat, you were re-assigned to deploying spider mines, and then to the 102nd.
Now, you’re back on the surface. Near her. The seer, whom you had never seen, but always knew lay somewhere in the canyon, behind the high walls of Sector Six. Close. An eccentric, skittish, tortured, but extraordinarily gifted woman.
Elllllllliot...Let me help you…
And then it all began again.
Current Abilities-
Each night, you must select a different aspect than the aspect you used the night before.
Seer Aspect- Because of your psychic connection with the Seer, you are able to ask her to investigate one player each night, and will learn intimate details about their past. There is a strong likelihood these revelations will directly (and clearly) correlate with their alignment. You may spend one point to also receive explicit alignment results. Results will be returned as town, neutral, or scum.
Mine Layer Aspect-Attach a spider mine to target player. The controller of the AI Control Pad will be informed that a mine has been attached to that player. The controller of the AI Control Pad may choose to activate the mine, eliminating the player. If the mine is not used within the night, it is deactivated.
Win Condition: The scum must die.
An unstable note has entered the rhythmic hum of the Seer's sphere. The cargo hold is uncomfortably still as the survivors gather. Like a church or a mausoleum, you can't decide.
Perhaps in the next few hours, the decision will be made for you.
I gained a point last night. I thought about using it, but figure that, with UI flipping town, we'd be better off giving it to RR instead. I still don't particularly trust RR, but whatever.
Since we may be at Lynch Or Lose, I'll throw this out there: nobody should vote. Represent intended votes with FoVs or MOOBWAPs or something. Once we have a consensus we can turn that into votes.
On Cyan's point: I obviously would like it, but I also know that I can be trusted. I hope I've demonstrated this adequately to the town.
I would also like confirmation on who exactly has the remnants of the Ghost Pendant right now. Abbey, do you still have it?
After more thought, the "code book" reference is probably just so that RafaelK didn't know exactly which item would detonate the spider mines. That seems reasonable, really. I'll just ignore that.
Moving on - one of my worries now is that the scum are going to rush the town by destroying the Ghost Pendant to bring Ash back in and removing rider from the game. That would make 7 living players, and Ash's double vote means that they can win with this with only 2 scum. It does require them to have both access to Ash and the Ghost Pendant remains, though, and the uncertainty of when Azrael will respond to the Ghost Pendant bringing Ash back in means that they can't autowin by arranging this for a specific time in scumchat. However, there are a few things that we can do to guard against this possibility. First, this is why I want to know who has the Ghost Pendant remains: because that's who everyone should be voting for if Ash reappears without prior consensus. Secondly, Kraj (if he is online when this occurs) should self-vote to disable Ash's double vote. Finally, since this requires access to Ash, it would have to mean (with our current living players) that either Shadow Knight or Deaths_Vampire is scum, so that would be a strong clue if the rush doesn't work. This also has other implications, as noted below.
With only seven living players, it seems like I should post a roundup. Here goes.
RobRoy - obvtown. Proven ability to (with help) turn a point into a daykill.
rider - no useful abilities, given the town's general lack of points. Townieness confirmed by death. Listed for completeness.
Shadow Knight - ex-loran16, item stealer. I firmly believe that he is a townie due to the mod stepping in, for reasons listed here. Attacks on him should begin either by attacking my logic in that post, or by giving reasons why it might not apply.
Cyan - ability searcher. Has been typically Cyan in his behaviour this game (abrasive), but I have been reading him as town. Claims to have been roleblocked by DYH (the scum roleblocker) on Night 1, which is a point in his favour, although there is still the possibility that DYH inherited the role sometime during Night 1 and they invented Cyan being blocked as protection for him. I think it's more likely that he actually was blocked, though, which would put him in the clear.
Abbey - item stealer/repairer. Is largely considered townie because of Crippled_Fist's behaviour towards him, confirming him as townie and such. This created a link between them that scum would usually be leery of making with a scumbuddy. This argument is WIFOM but solid. Abbey has done little in his own right to justify such trust, though.
desCoures - corpse starer. No ability-based reason for trust. Has been generally reasonable all game, but that is not an indication of alignment.
Deaths_Vampire - ex-CropCircles, Ash personality. No ability-based reason for trust.
At the moment, my thinking (not set in stone) goes like this. Cyan gives me a point, which I use (in concert with others) to off Deaths_Vampire. If he is scum, yay! We rething and proceed from there. If he isn't, that means that Shadow Knight is the only known person left who has access to Ash and might be scum. I personally trust him, so I'd think that at that point we have whoever has the Ghost Pendant break it and bring Ash back into the game. This can possibly backfire if the scum (by which I would mean Abbey) are able to lift the AI Control Pad off D_V's body, though.
I've been thinking about my results from last night I'm confused. Either we have someone else who is able to search rooms or AG wasn't completely truthful about his ability "going off" last. I searched someone's room last night looking for the regen chamber but the flavor of my result said that someone had already searched it when I got there.
EBWODP- I am against bringing back Ash. As long as rider is alive, I don't want anyone being able to vote him anonymously.
Hmm. The original people to have access to Ash were HKKid/kpaca, CropCircles and Clem, all three of whom would be dead town in the case I posed. The only other person to have the Control Pad so far is yourself/loran. So we'd be delaying bringing back Ash against the possibility that either there was someone we didn't know with access to Ash, or that the scum would be able to grab the Control Pad. The latter is a definite possibility - it would depend how much we need Ash.
That's a very good point by SK. Kraj can still post from Ash, I don't see enough benefit in giving his vote back to justify some scum being able to use Ash to kill Rider.
Is there a reason to make him say what you found? I mean, you found an item and took it, right? So when you call him out, he'll accurately identify the item. It's only his explanation of why he has it and why he didn't mention it before that we really need. Why don't you tell us what the item is, and what it does?
Also, do we have a full list of the 8 items in the game yet?
For we are all players upon a wicked, cruel stage --
Alas, there comes a time for all charades to end.
Vote: rider

"Looky here," says Abbeygargoyle, brandishing a key card. "This belonged to Piggy. Guess whose place I found it at, last night?" He puts a companionable arm around DesCoures. Grizzled face. Their sergeant.
DesCoures smile seems to be frozen on his face.
Abbey's grip tightens to restrain him, but DesCoures' bends his knees, plants an elbow hard into Abbey's solar plexus, hoists Abbey over his back, and slams him down on the deck with bone-crushing force in a smooth flash of motion.
The marines tear into their former leader, fists pummeling and fingers pulling, but he plows through the rain of blows and charges straight toward Rider. Barely stopping, he slams a fist into Rider's exposed brain tissue, and the light in his eyes goes dark. DesCoures continues to run, the marines in pursuit.
Abbey picks himself up off the deck, hops onto a crate to gain a clear field of fire, and brings up his rifle. Taking careful aim along his sight, he sends a stream of bullets into DesCoures' back. Bulletholes riddle DesCoures' uniform, and he stumbles to a stop.
Then he turns, a macabre grin still frozen on his face. A wave of bright, blue energy dances over him. His clothes collapse in a heap; their owner enveloped and vanished. Except for that wide, cheshire cat grin, still hanging in the air. Then even that fades away into nothingness.
I think we shoot now. If D_V is the last scum, then we win either way, so we need to plan for the case where he isn't. In that situation, I think we're better off taking him down and then being able to reassess - how things work if he's town vs. if he's scum.

Every time you've called me clarifying or restating a point a backpedal, it hasn't been. I dare you to find one point where I said that I thought you had a point generation method.
I think raf is town and all, but this is the height of stupidity.
Reasons behind my opinions changed because of your responses, but when it's as broad as "I think you're scum and I don't believe that you have the ability you claim" then you could say it hasn't changed much.
3 UI- Rider, Abbey, Cyan

With 9 alive, it's 5 to lynch.
I think that's everyone.
Jund Fangirl; Few things can describe the bliss of the fangirl's cries fading to silence (broken by occasional munching sounds).
Grixis Emo; 'Why should I go out there? They're all uncaring zombies! *sniff* No one understands me...'
Bant Wageslave; Behind every successful knight is a corporate drudge doing his taxwork.
Naya Overenthusiast; Because there is such a thing as too much enthusiasm.
vote UI then

Sam O’Connor, Townie Database Controller is dead.
Night has fallen. You have until midnight on Monday the 21st to submit your choices.
Rafaelk, Spc. Eliot Cynder, Seer/Mine-Layer
Win Condition: The scum must die.
Perhaps in the next few hours, the decision will be made for you.
With seven alive, it's four votes to lynch.
*checks*
Yeah, Clem's death scene clearly indicates that it's the AI Control Pad. mod, is this an error on your part?
Thoughts?
I'd MOOBWAP dC right now, but that's just my gut.
@AG- who did you target last night?
Largely because of the Ash connection.
Who did you target SK?
Also, do we have a full list of the 8 items in the game yet?
I thought that we already know all of the items in the game.
AI Control Pad
Mobile Comm Unit
Vault
Ghost Pendant
Database
Revival Chamber
Maelstrom Gate
Central Comms Unit
I think it's pretty obvious where this is all going, but I guess we'll wait it out.
Sarnath'd by AG. That's what I figured he'd say.
Vote Descoures
So Cyan, how about donating that point to RR so he can use it on DC?
Kraj
No! We are upset that people are so unfamiliar with Crop Circles awesomeness that they thought we were him. We die angry

Should we have RR just save the point in case we're not sure of a lynch later? Or just try to get a lucky second lynch today?
DesCoures has vanished into thin air.
With 5 alive, it's three votes to lynch.
Thinking about lynching vs shooting now. I'll post some conclusions before going to bed.
@AG: It seems like your action that caused him to disappear. Want to shed any light here?
