Amadi, remember that not everyone is comfortable enough with the standard editor. Many use WYSIWYG because it's simple. There's a function that any computer can do involving a mouse. It's called "highlighting text." Use it.
"Done. What's so morbid about it?"

Someone once asked me why, when I talk about House Dimir, I don't put the word "the" in front of it.
At the time, I had no answer, but it just came to me.

You can use both, removes formatting from text you have highlighted, making it "normal" text. It is what I use, personally.

Sorry for not updating in a while. I've been feeling very apathetic towards D&D lately.
That, and I've had an insanely full schedule, and will continue to for the next two or three weeks. I really want to get this massive battle-scene right, and I don't want to have only a few minutes to spend working on it.
That said, this is a stall post for you guys to RP a little more. I promise I'll get this rolling within the next two days since I'll have a little bit of a break, and I'll keep it moving at a smoother pace than I have been.
Thindel waits expectantly for the distraction. After many minutes of waiting with held breath, the General looks troubled. "Everyone, stay in formation," he shouts. "I'm going to the front to see what's going on. Guards, stay put."
Thindel runs alone into the forest ahead of the elven army. The magical cloak he wears shimmers as he moves further away, and quite suddenly he has vanished into the thick underbrush.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
"Unfortunately the organization we are witnessing so far makes me wonder exactly who might be doing the dispatching on this day." says Megiltaren looking towards Destler.
"I'm sure that we'll dispatch some before we fall, if your pessimism decides to manifest as reality."

Damned late night poker games. I totally forgot about updating last night.
Thindel comes wandering back after a few minutes, grumbling something under his breath about incompetence. "Okay men. We have maybe a minute before the distraction takes place. Let's march!"
The huge elven and dwarven force starts forward, moving as silently as possible through the trees. As they approach the tree-break, they hear what can only be the distraction: A huge rumbling, like never-ending thunder, can be heard ahead.
"CHARGE!" Thindel screams, and the elven force breaks into a run. As they clear the forest, they see the simple brilliance of the distraction. The ground under the other side of the tree break is rippling and churning, rumbling and tearing. An earthquake.
As the elves and dwarves charge, they can see enemy archers falling from their perches in trees, crippling the 'perfect' defense they had. No arrows at all fly toward the charging army. A thousand feet down the tree break, the other half of the elf army is doing the exact same thing. Apparently this is an all or nothing attack.
The first line of elves hit the trees at a sprint, and their blades flash as they run past the prone archers. Blood sprays everywhere as hundreds of archers are killed in the first moments.
Before the second rank of elves and dwarves hit the tree line, reinforcments charge from both sides of the forest, hacking into the frontmost legion.
The front legion is caught by surprise. Lire's army (OOC: That's you guys :D) alters course on his command, smashing into the reinforcments.
The enemy doesn't seem very organized, but unfortunately the trees are much thicker here on this side. Lire's army is forced to splinter into smaller groups to fight effectively. "Destroy the reinforcements before we proceed further into the forest!" Lire shouts.
Just then, Ervine's dwarves arrive to support Lire's troops, and the fight really gets messy.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
It might be alright, Caex, if you won anything. Did you?:D
Destler moves forward, his crimson eyes flashing, reflecting as-yet-unspilled blood as he grins wickedly. He lashes out with his blade at the nearest target.

I'd rather wait until my initiative to decide my actions, but before that I would like to make a spot check to spot any possible enemy force leaders. They don't necessarily have to be the leaders of the whole army, but leaders of one squad or something are fine, too.

Waiting for one's initiative is not a bad call . . . I'm pretty sure that I'm going first or really close to first with my 28 result, though.

Sorry guys, but to be completely honest here, I've lost all interest in this game. I don't think I'm really cut out for big, epic battles and armies and all that crap. I prefer a more party/character-based game.
But take heart!
I'm restarting Flames of War, and you're all invited to join in.
I'm going to do it from the beginning, with lots of changes. It's probably going to be barely reconizable from the original. Lower levels, less deity involvement, less invincible enemies, way more RPing, cooler main villains, the list goes on.
There will be three starting groups, of 3-4 players each. I've already got 2, possibly 3 players who have reserved spots. I'll throw the character gen thread up sometime in the next few days, whenever the mood strikes me.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
The levels will be much lower. Somewhere in between 10 and 15.
The enemies you fight won't be as unbelievably powerful either. Malsvir had a CR of 65. Kaegro's was 45. Yeah. Kinda stupid. Though they were never meant to be the kind of enemies you beat down for victory, so I had to make them total badasses to stop you from just killing them.
Like I said, there will be 3 starting parties, with 3-4 people each (of course, that depends on how many people join up). That means I have room for 9 more people, since 3 have already shown interest.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
Yeah, you'll be going epic. Going epic will be a major part of the storyline, in fact.
And it's not going to be going from level 20 to 21 like a regular level. It'll be a quest all by itself. I'll not say any more than that.
Also, there's going to be a pretty heavy horror theme, and each character will be required to have something special, which I'll explain in the character gen thread. I'm considering putting it up tonight, by the way.
