I was just wondering if anybody would be interested in a more freeform version of Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader. Basically, a game of Rogue Trader, just on a slightly higher power level, and a bit more rules lite. I just want to mainly focus on the storytelling and world forming aspect of such a setting. So I was wondering whom would be interested.
What do I mean by simplifying it?
Opening up availablity of more equipment
Boosting your stats
Honestly, just high powering the game. Means your enemies are nastier also though.
What is Warhammer 40K (for those who dont know)
It is 40,000 Years in the future, and the God Emperor of Mankind has been imprisoned on the Golden throne for ten thousand years. The Imperium spans much of the galaxy, but is beset on all sides by enemies within and without. (For More Information, Wikipedia is actually a great intro)
What is Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader
At the edges of the Imperium, treasures and mysteries beyond imagination await you. Some say they are chosen by destiny, but they are often the heirs to ancient remits of trade, giving them authority to go beyond the bounds of the Imperium, to seek new worlds, to trade, and to establish colonies in the name of the Emperor...and profit.
Who are you
You are the trusted crew and Lieutentants of Hakan Kosh, Rogue Trader, and Captain of the Vessel Autumn Lotus. Converted from an old Lunar Class Light Cruiser thousands of years before, the venerable ship has seen traders of the Kosh dynasty across the stars.
Classes
Arch Militant (Soldier, Former stormtrooper, Commissar)
Explorator (Tech Priest, Mechanic)
Navigator (Psyker, Incredibly Arrogant Diplomat, Steers the ship)
Missionary (Priest, close combat specialist)
Void Born (Pilot, Gunner, rogue)
Sensechal (Scholar, Researcher, Also Diplomatic Type)
So, would anybody be interested. And to answer a question I am sure to get
No you cannot play a Space Marine. You may run into one in a way that it might help you, or you can actually fight it, but you may not play as one. Do not ask me.

I would be interested, but I would need to know limits. I mean, common and lower items are so 'cheap' you can have 'nigh infinite' of them, which has caused me to go crazy with things before when I rolled up an old character.
That said, I have a character for each class already made (Arch-Militant being a 'future' version of a Guardsman I played in a DH game // Rogue Trader being my second favorite character I've made) Should I be allowed to use my Arch-Militant, I'd like to ask a few other things as well.
Although from reading, I can assume the RT spot is already 'taken'.
And I may need to reroll my characters as I don't think my method would 'technically' work. I rolled everything random, so the Chain of Origin is sort of broken iirc.
Will you be using Ship Points/Profit Factor on your end?
Here is a quick text template I've got. Just to help anyone else out @_@

I didnt include Rogue Trader as an option, owing to a discussion I had with my gaming group in real life, and we all sort of came to the conclusion that having the Rogue Trader himself as the PC could lead to problems. If people disagree, then Im open to suggestions.
Im just still playing around with ideas on how to bring this over properly onto the internet.
By allowing more equipment, I'm not talking the insane stuff. I'm more talking that
"Arch-Militant Bob has heavy weapons proficiency/special weapons profiency, and the team is going down to a planet where they might need additional firepower, thus he checks out a Meltagun from the ships armory"
Something like that.
Edit-
I like your template. For stuff such as WS/INT, I'll either give people a slightly higher base value, or a few more points to spend at the start

I mean, when I last had Klightus he had about 80 javelins, most coated with various common-rarity drugs. He had also booby trapped his entire room. (Paranoid played to the hilt) He also had a bunch of...fun...things I'd thought of for interrogation.
The main thing is that he had the Thirsty Blade superstition, and I played it as him thinking his hammer had a living spirit in it. Strangely, all my melee attacks hit only legs, so I was allowed a small expenditure of xp to get a 'bonus' to Krushikus of +2 critical damage inflicted on legs. Just wondering if something like this would be allowed to carried over.
How much ship-to-ship combat would one expect and how much planet-side//space hulk stuff?

It sounds amusing, and I like amusing, so most of it.
Honestly, I prefer planetside/space hulk type stuff for this. But I'll make sure we have both.
I already have a boarding action planned for an encounter. Just how its played goes for who gets boarded.

Hey I am wondering if there are still spots open for this rogue trader game. I have played Rogue Trader twice before but neither of those games lasted very long because of a decrease in the level of fun everyone was having. I would be interested in playing an Explorator, Void born, or a Sensechal. Also I notice that Astropath Transcendent isn't on that list, is there a reason why it isn't because it's a really cool class even though the rules for psychic abilities are exceedingly confusing and vague.
Also wondering if your doing anything funky to mix up the system at all because when I played the party had become imbalanced by around rank two or three just cause everyone had power armour and weapons around good or best quality. and will you be restricting our ability to get weapons, armours, and tools of specific rarity until a predetermined rank?
