Josh's head drooped when he heard the last name. George was a friend...one of a few he had. But that still didn't answer the question.
"What I don't understand is why? Everyone should have been far enough away, and I was with George when we evac'd so I know he got out. How did any of them get killed?!?"

"Not sure, I'm sorry. I think three of them, including George, might have been helping the other two get out in time...but like you know, it had already gone up in flames by the time we got there."
"Hello! I've come to serenade you. I can't play guitar. I can't play this accordion either, but I thought it'd be less obvious."
Dylan Moran, Black Books
Joshua nodded. He understood that George was a real Boy Scout, in more ways than one.
"I see...that sounds like George, alright. But that still doesn't explain...what again are you all accusing me of?"

Officer Martin now sighed, and changed her tone of voice completely - it was no longer accusatory, but rather serious and urgent.
"We'll stop beating around the bush now. Have you had any visions of any sort, or has anything strange been happening that you've known of? Apart from the blast and everything, of course."
"Hello! I've come to serenade you. I can't play guitar. I can't play this accordion either, but I thought it'd be less obvious."
Dylan Moran, Black Books
Well, *that* was certainly a shock. Not the question Joshua expected the police to ask.
"Huh? What's that supposed to mean?" He had all but forgotten the brief flashes of fire that had come this morning, and would likely have to have his memory jogged.
"Well, I came down with something really nasty lately; I guess that counts as strange since I'm rarely out sick...but something tells me you're looking for something different."

Joshua shrugged. "As far as I can tell is was just a nasty flu bug. Screwed up with my sleep last night; that's for sure. or maybe that was the medicine cocktail I ended up taking that day..." He coughed a few times, almost like the thing was making itself known.

Josh tried to remember, but his brain wasn't all too sharp at the moment.
"Ummm...I think I remember seeing something during the 10 minutes of sleep I got...but all I can remember is fire and some creepy dude. but why are you asking this, and not the shrink you're about to send me to so I can establish my insanity plea?"

"Ummm..." Josh wasn't exactly sure. he did have an idea though.
"The principal...he should have my flash drive with a screenshot of everything I saw. I also was able to track down his IP address, but all I know is that it wasn't in the school's network. I think...that if I sent a ping to that machine, if whoever talked to me is there, they might respond.
It's not a sure thing by any means, and I need the screenshot to make sure I have the IP address correct, but at this point I don't think we have anything to lose."
Joshua was unnaturally knowledgeable about computers for a kid his age, but on the other hand with all the advances in electronics in the past few years, and especially the amount of progress that was made since President Obama took office, such knowledge was becoming more and more commonplace. So maybe it wasn't that unnatural.

"Right. Well, we'll try and get your flash drive to you as quickly as possible so you can show us."
She nodded to her colleague, who exited the room. Martin now spoke to Josh in a low, secretive voice, even though no one else was in the room. Her tone was not accusatory, but more concerned than anything else.
"We brought you in here because we were worried about you. At first we may have thought that you were involved in the plot to destroy your school, but now we have more reason to believe that this attack was targeted...well, at you."
"We received this," she said, pulling a crumpled piece of paper out of her pocket, "from a very reliable source in New Jersey. Do you have any idea how your name came to be on it?"
On the piece of paper was a list of ten handwritten names, with a location listed for each one. In the middle of the list was written "Josh Peterson - Fort Wayne, IN", and was circled with a red pen.
"Hello! I've come to serenade you. I can't play guitar. I can't play this accordion either, but I thought it'd be less obvious."
Dylan Moran, Black Books
Josh saw his name on the paper, and realized something.
"Whoever typed this up only heard my name, they didn't see it." He fished out his wallet and showed his driver's license, which read quite clearly "Joshua W. Petersen"
"If they had seen my name, it would have been typed correctly. However...this person spelled my last name with an o; something that you might do if you just heard the name. I just remembered that the person who contacted me made that same spelling mistake. It's weird..."

As Josh picked it up, images ran through his head. Visions of a tall man, who looked very self-confident, with brown hair and glasses. There was a glimpse of the man writing on a piece of paper that looked like the list in Josh's hands. And then, an image that lasted for only a split second in Josh's mind - of an explosion at a building that was similar to Josh's school but was obviously different.
As he came back to the real world, Josh noticed Officer Martin watching him intently.
"Hello! I've come to serenade you. I can't play guitar. I can't play this accordion either, but I thought it'd be less obvious."
Dylan Moran, Black Books
Josh tried to shake himself back into reality. This was all too weird...
"I saw something...a guy with brown hair, glasses...kinda tall, I guess 6'2" or something close. he was writing a list...and then another explosion...
what the hell does this mean?"

Not knowing what if anything would happen, Josh gingerly picked up the notebook and flipped through some of the pages, wondering if there was anything already written or drawn there.

There was a quick flash in his mind of an image of Officer Martin writing in the notebook, in this same room but across the table from a different suspect, a teenage girl.
In the notebook itself were a few random unrelated notes from different cases, and for Josh's case just some information such as his name, date of birth, and the word "list?".
"Hello! I've come to serenade you. I can't play guitar. I can't play this accordion either, but I thought it'd be less obvious."

Joshua looked at the Officer. Something big was involved, and it appeared he was going to have to be the one to put the pieces together.
"...I just saw you, interviewing someone else...a girl, she seemed about my age. Do you remember anything about that case?"

I might put this on hold, just due to the extreme lack on interest in all the other threads (I was trying to get all of these quests to tie together, in some way). I may come back to it some time in the future. Thanks for playing, anyway.
