In this forum, we get together to play various forum-based Magic The Gathering games. This is the home of DCX, Perfect Hand Magic (Formerly "Card Blind" Magic), and all other methods of playing magic games on the forums. Games that are not directly a method of playing magic via the forums belong elsewhere.
We generally have a relaxed setting here, as we're all here to have fun. The MTGSalvation Forum Rules apply here, unless otherwise noted. Our rules are in place to help maintain a healthy forum for our games. However, they are also designed so that they won't interfere with the running of games. We understand that certain situations require posts that would generally be considered wrong in other places. The general rule of thumb is: if you have a game reason for what you're doing, you're probably ok.
Discussion of these rules, questions about them, and any other concerns should be taken to the Forum Magic's Helpdesk.
Spam
We're not as concerned about the length of your post here, as long as it is relevant to the game at hand. There are times when a simple "You're right" or "pass" is actually necessary in a game, and you will not be warned for such posts if they are relevant. Irrelevant spam that does not contribute to a game is still against the rules. Be sure to stay on topic. Cluttering up a thread with discussion about your weekend isn't necessary. There are other forums or PMs for that.
Necroing
Necroing (dragging up a thread from long ago) is also quite often acceptable here - but again, you must be doing so for a relevant reason. Dredging up a game from a year ago just to say "That was cool" is a warnable offense. Bringing up a game that has sat idle because you want to start it back up is perfectly acceptable. It's even preferred to creating a new thread for the same game. Some of our scored or competitive games can also be brought back up for round issues. Again, this is acceptable.
Double Posting
Double Posting is generally overlooked here, so long as there is a reason for it. If there is no reason not to edit your last post instead, it is encouraged that you do this instead. We do understand there are a variety of reasons to make two posts, and if you have a valid reason you're fine. Game operators may freely make multiple posts as necessary.
Reminders
Game operators may freely make posts to remind people about deadlines, turns, etc. However, random game players are discouraged from doing this, unless they have a relevant reason. If it's a turn based game, don't come in just to tell someone it's there turn. On the other hand, if you've been waiting for 2 days, it's ok to prod them or ask.
Flaming/Trolling/Misbehaving
This is one area where we do not have lax rules. We are, in fact, very strict. If you are insulting, trolling, or otherwise overly aggressive, you will be warned. This forum exists for us to have fun. While debates are inevitable, there is no reason they should ever need to become heated. Stay civil. If you feel like you are under attack or otherwise being negatively treated - contact a moderator directly or report the post; do not retaliate or escalate the situation.
Adult Content
Games dealing with adult content are not allowed here. Sex, drugs, and otherwise "adult" topics aren't appropriate for this forum. We understand that "Adult Content" is a gray area, so games that we feel just barely cross the line will generally be moved/locked. Games that are grossly over the line will result in warnings. If you have a game that you're unsure of, it's always best to contact a moderator first.
