Welcome to BLEAGUE, aka Blind League. This particular Bleague is of the 3 variety. I'll be your ref and personal calculator, Goblinboy.
How does it work?
There are four teams of six members apiece, one of whom will be the team leader. There will be one faceoff each week. Once all six faceoffs have been done, it's onto the finals, with the top two teams competing. There will be two finals rounds. The team with the highest combined score from both rounds is the victor for the season!
In each faceoff, the team will communicate, but in the end each player has their own deck. Only the Team Leader has veto power over a truly awful deck submission.
Note: No team may submit two of the same deck. In fact, no set of two cards may match. So, if one player has Mox Jet/Mishra's Factory/Duress, any other player can still play Mishra's Factory, but they may NOT play Mishra's Factory with a Mox Jet or Mishra's Factory with a Duress.
The schedule for each session is eight weeks long and looks like this:
1: Team 1 vs Team 2
2: Team 3 vs Team 4
3: Team 2 vs Team 3
4: Team 1 vs Team 4
5: Team 1 vs Team 3
6: Team 2 vs Team 4
7: Finals Round #1
8: Finals Round #2
All deck submissions will be entered to the TEAM LEADER. Once they are all collected, then the Team Leader will PM them to me. Any individual decklist submissions sent directly to me can result in your team being fined $ (see below)
Money
Each team shall recieve at the beginning of the season $50 million dollars. 1M is the smallest unit of cash; don't try to bid $1 on something. You can get more cash by winning matches.
Your team can spend money on the Draft, on Free Agents, Benchwarmers, and will be used to pay fines if they are incurred. Also, you may use money to buy yourself access to certain banned cards for the faceoffs.
Money belonging to teams does not roll over between seasons. Money belonging to individual players, on the other hand, does.
Purchases
Buying the use of 1 copy of a banned card for 1 faceoff. I.e. you pay this much money and ONE of your team's decks gets to use it.
Banned Cards Price Sheet:
10M The Rack
10M Balance
10M Glacial Chasm

N/A Unglued
N/A Unhinged
N/A Wasteland
Penalties Price Sheet:
All Your Team's Cash - Collaborating and agreeing on teams.
2M - Submitting an individual decklist to me, instead of to your team leader. This money will come from you if you have it and your team if you don't.
2M - Attempting to submit a "copycat" deck. Remember, no set of two cards may match. So, if one player has Mox Jet/Mishra's Factory/Duress, any other player can still play Mishra's Factory, but they may NOT play Mishra's Factory with a Mox Jet or Mishra's Factory with a Duress. Breaking this rule is called submitting a "copycat" deck. For Season 1, while we're getting used to this, This Penalty is Not In Effect.
Roles Team Leader: This is the most demanding position and requires the most experience. To apply to be a Team Leader, you need ALL of the following:
1) Has participated in 10 3CBs
2) Has won at least 1 3CB
3) Has the written support of three people, all of whom must have played at least two 3CBs and none of whom are attempting to be Team Leaders. (you may solicit the support)
The first four people to successfully do all of these things will be the Team Leaders for this season (first come, first serve). The winning team's Team Leader will have immunity for Season 2. All other Team Leaders must requalify for the position.
Responsibilities: Organize your team's decks, submit them to me, veto bad decks, name your team, handle the money, etc. What a Team Leader should NOT do is override every deck and basically decide for everybody. If this happens, tell me and I'll do something about it.
Draft Pick: This is your standard, bread-and-butter player's role. If you sign up for this, you'll be entered in the Draft (more on that later) To apply to be in the Draft, you must fulfill:
1) Has participated in 4 3CBs
Any number of players can sign up for the draft, but that doesn't mean that everybody is going to be picked.
Responsibilities: Be available during your faceoffs, submit good decks with regularity.
Free Agent: This is the player's role of the elite! Think you're hot stuff? A wanted commodity? A player recognized for their 3CB skill and their metagame capabilities? Glix? This position is for you. To apply to be a Free Agent, you must fulfill:
1) Has participated in 4 3CBs
2) Has won at least 2 3CBs (i.e. is in the Hall of Fame)
Free Agents are going to get more money than Draft Picks, and they're more likely to end up on the team they want to be on (since you can refuse offers). However, they're also more likely to end up as Benchwarmers if they're not bought.
Free Agents MUST declare how much money they are going for when they sign up. If they do not, it will be assumed that they cost 9M
Responsibilities: Be worth what you've been paid for, you star.
Benchwarmer: This is the casual player's spot, or the spot for Free Agents and Draft Picks that weren't selected this season. Benchwarmers stand in when a team member seems to not be available, and is paid 1M each time they are selected. There are no requirements to fulfill to be a Benchwarmer.
You can also be bought at any time by any team as a Free Agent by naming your price as long as you also fulfill the requirements for Free Agent. (4 participates, 2 wins)
To Prevent Abuse: No specific Benchwarmer may be used by the same team more than once. If they want to use him more than once, they must pay his Free Agent price.
Responsibilities: Stand in for the absent. Get better so you don't get left behind next time.
THE DRAFT
You can buy individual picks for the draft. Buying a first pick means that you have a crack at the members in the Draft Pick role before people who only bought a second pick. You may buy as many picks as you want, but only one of each round of picks (i.e. only one first pick, one second, one third, etc.)
Do note that buying a 1,2,3,4, and 5th pick is more than $50. You've got to budget.
Players who are picked 1st-4th pick shall recieve a 5M salary. 5th and 6th shall recieve 3M. 7th shall recieve 1M. The rest goes back to the Bleague.
FREE AGENTS
When a Free Agent signs up, they must name their price. AT MINIMUM that price may be 9M, the same as a 4th Draft Pick. Seems high? Well, you're supposed to be awesome, why not?
A Free Agent's salary is the price the team paid for them minus 5M. A Free Agent bought for 9M will recieve 4M.
Why a minimum? To prevent team abuse (a team agrees beforehand to sign up as 1M Free Agents, refuse all offers but the team they agreed on, plenty of $$ left for banned cards). Note that agreeing on teams beforehand by abusing the Free Agent role is ILLEGAL and will result in confiscation of all remaining money that team has as well as any money they make that season.
TRADING PLAYERS MID-SEASON
Teams may trade or buy players. When the deals are said and done, each team must still have 6 players. However, that does not always mean that being on a team makes you safe. Team Leaders of both teams must agree on a trade for it to happen. Nobody else has any official say. You may be traded against your will.
Say you're on Team 1. Team 2 wants to sell you their star player. Your Team Leader accepts, drops you, and Team 2 doesn't take you, but rather buys a Benchwarmer as a Free Agent. Suddenly, you find yourself as a Benchwarmer. This is what happens if you don't do well
Trading players may happen at any time, and players may be traded for either money or other players. If you don't like the team you're on, here's a chance to use your personal money. You can pay the team you like so they can make a better offer for you to the team you're on.
Do note that if you're on a team and get switched, you do not get another salary. However, if you're a Benchwarmer and get recruited, you get the same salary that any Free Agent would get.
SO WHAT NOW??
Sign up on this thread to be a Team Leader, Free Agent, Draft Pick, or Benchwarmer. You have two weeks to do so. Season 1 Signups will end on March 17 (good ol' St. Patty's day) and the Team Leaders will then have a week to make their purchases.
If you are trying to be a Team Leader, have your supporters PM me this message:
Subject: 3CB Support
Body: I support ________ for Team Leader.
Remember, YOU HAVE UNTIL MARCH 17 TO SIGN UP
If you have any questions, ask on this thread or PM me. If you're wondering what the hell 3CB is, go over to the regular 3CB page. Bleague is for experienced players only.
Hmmm... The problam I see is deciding what to be... I'd like to be anything except a benchwarmer, really. Choices choices. I suppose right now I'll put my name on the Draft list, but I might change my mind and become a free agent or a team leader as I whim.
I get the impression that this format will encourage netdecks, as they are generally good for a solid score. Still, that does reflect the way pro sports are, no room for quirkiness. This is good. Very good.
I'm only eligible to be a benchwarmer, so sign me up for that please. :smile2:

well ive only played in one 3cb (im signed up for the next one though, so 2 kinda) i love the game just didn't know about it till very recently, so if i could be a bench warmer that would be just fine for this season
I'll sign up as a draft pick. I think I've met the requirements. I'll just have to dust my skills off and figure out the metagame again.

Of course both are a little more work than draft which is clearly the easier one. Also since we do definally need 4 team captains and I was planning on throughing my support to someone here but clearly no one even volenteered,
I am offically Soliciting Support for myself being a Team Captain. If a stronger player would like to solicit support from myself please do so. I wouldn't be so hesitent if this was 4CB becuase I'm much better at it, but I don't my doing the work. Ah. . . so here I am! Vote for me! Class President! er. I mean Team Leader.
I'm poor at team and resource management, dasheiff. As a captain, I would likely run my team into the ground :slant:
I suppose I could go free agent, though...
I thought about being a free agent, but reasoned that whatever team I'm on will have a better chance of winning if they have more money to buy broken cards. Also, I doubt people would pay upwards of 9M for a random like me.
hmm after reading over the game again, I think i came off a little too opinionated. luckily on the interenet you either have thick skin or die, so I would like to say that I still think the same thing but i'm thinking them in a nicer way.
I'll be a draft pick. Team leaders, I'm a very solid pick, because I usually top 10, and have plenty of 3CB expereince prior to MTGnew/Salvation over at TMD.
EDIT: Also, with so many people trying to get in the draft, I might want become a free agent, because I have won two tournaments over at TMD.
Edit: Can a bench warmer (like myself) be hired as a free agent but without having to have the qualifications, for instance, I win (highly unlikly) the next 3CB wouldn't people then want me so I would then become more than a bench warmer but no one could hire me as a free agent. I am I right with that?
Nope. It says in the role descriptions that to be hired as a Free Agent mid-season, you must qualify as a Free Agent. Now, if you won two 3CBs during the season, you could then be bought. If that doesn't happen, you're stuck playing replacement.

Edit 2: Just noticed something on the front page, Goblinboy, should we be singing happy birthday for you? :smile2:
Perhaps
Alfred - I'll have to think about whether TMD wins count for the league.
Everyone - If you're trying to sign up as a Free Agent, don't forget to name your price. If you leave that out, I'll default you to 9M. Don't forget, that may seem like a lot, but 1st, 2nd, and 3rd draft picks all cost more. If you're really elite, you're worth more than 9M.
ALSO - Don't forget to throw support behind Team Leaders you like. It'd be a shame if we had only two available Team Leaders to start the season with
Hmm... it looks like few people want to be a Leader. In that case, GB, if you're short on Team Leaders, sign me up as one. I suppose I couldn't be that bad.
EDIT: People, write in support for me if you want me to do this.
