Any Browncoats here? Sad to see the numbers dwindling in the past five years or so but I guess a decade of dormancy would do that. Lately I've been entertaining the notion that since Whedon finally has a cleared schedule and Fillion's show Castle seems to be wrapping up, maybe we'll get some kind of reunion/reboot/relaunch/new thing.
What do you guys think? Also, just Firefly general
Firefly was great, serenity was ehh and really just felt like revenge at Fox (which they deserved)
The Reavers in particular struck me as an interesting reskin of a now-politically-incorrect trope.

FOX is quite literally one of the worst companies I'm aware of - as a video store manager they make my blood boil, and as a movie buff their decisions on how to handle their properties drives me crazy. The fact they still own the rights to Firefly keeps me up at night sometimes!
As for the Reavers, yeah I was really interested in getting into all of that more. Season two sounded like it was going to get into some stuff that would have been great put to screen.
*Raises hand* I absolutely adore Firefly (and Serenity for that matter) and it still baffles me why they screwed up the order of episodes when they aired. I think the show might have survived with the intended viewing order. FOX does this with so many of their shows, it makes no sense. Clearly arrogant executives thinking they know better than everyone else involved with actually making the show.
Finally got around to watching it this past winter and really enjoyed it. I'm curious to how the show would have developed beyond one-off episodes. Serenity alluded to larger storylines and the idea of those sounds kinda awesome.
Not sure what is politically incorrect about the Reavers, but whatever.

One of these day I have to get myself organizized.

Look at this, we've almost got a little gang going here. Firefly and Magic, who would've thought?
Neat link of that artist, and as far as arrogant executives go, you hit the nail on the head: FOX is pretty famous for blunderous over-involvement, as they tend to try to lump what they're in charge of into vague sections and then try to make demands of their directors and showrunners based off weird, nonsensical "trends" - eg., "X Men Origins: Wolverine is a superhero movie, and the last really popular superhero movie was Iron Man. Iron Man had lasers, so maybe kids like lasers? Make one of the bad guys shoot lasers or else we're canning you." and then you get Deadpool firing eyeball-lasers in the last five minutes for no real reason.
They've screwed with so many things that should've been great; a David Fincher Alien movie, a Joss Whedon written Alien movie, Josh Trank's Fantastic Four, etc. - they forced sequels out of Taken and chewed up the Die Hard series - I dunno, it's just sad to see.
I can't help but think that with the success of the X Files reboot and with how big of a surprise Deadpool was, maybe they'll realize they don't know it all? Only good things could come of that.

For what it's worth, this guy https://twitter.com/artifex_prime has painted Nathan Fillion every day for the past three years!
