Figured at over 2000 posts it was time to start anew. The draft is only a few weeks away and the leagues schedule was just released earlier this week. I think this draft will vary wildly depending on when the QBs start to go. I also think there are going to be a ton of trades especially early in the draft.
What happens to this draft if nobody takes a QB in the top 10? Will we see a lot of last years playoff teams snatch up QBs are future prospects or possible upgrades? I could easily see teams like the Bengals and Broncos going QB if the top guys fall. Or will there be a run on QBs like there was in 2011 pushing better players deeper into the first round?
As a Packer fan I can't comment too much on the Mocks other than their pick and I can say that they would probably be happy with any of the 3 picks you put on there.
One thing that's odd to me is that a lot of NFL analysts seem to think the Packers need to get a receiver (whether it's a WR or a TE) ASAP. I tend to disagree. They still have a very solid top 3 WRs. Keeping in mind that for parts of last season they were without Finley, Nelson and Cobb at the same time. I am sure they will draft a TE and probably a WR somewhere and possibly multiple but I dont see it as this huge pressing need that a lot of people seem to put on it and then throw any WR or TE that is still available in their mock into the Packers first round selection.
I like your projection of Nix to my Pats. He is certainly the kind of DT to fit in the system and follow Wilfork.
I am hoping that QB AJ McCarron falls to the 2nd or 3rd round and that the Patriots snag him. I have always had the feeling he had that IT factor or the right winning intangibles following his play at Alabama. His measurable won't blow you away much like Tom Brady's didn't coming out of college. I like McCarron and could see him molding into a Tom Brady-like QB down the road. Am I saying he'd ever come close to Brady's numbers, legacy, titles, etc. Heck No. I just think he'd fit in perfectly. Also, he is a very nice human being too and it'd be easy to root for him.
Depends on if we even have a league. This site "upgrade" seems to have chased everyone away
You noticed that too, huh? I'm glad its not just me.
It seems the few Magic forums I occasionally browse/lurk are bursting with more activity (General and Casual). Whereas the Outside Magic forums have significantly lost regular posters, especially the Entertainment section. I don't recognize nearly as many names as I used to.
At any rate, I'm made the adjustment and I'll definitely still partake.

Hey who would you guys keep, Nick Foles or Russell Wilson?
I'd keep Foles... The Seahawks are going to be run first until forced to do otherwise. Also with the up tempo and all the little dump passes that may go to McCoy and Sproles the numbers for Foles should be high.
Well, its that time of year again. Seems as though the new site has destroyed what I and so many others helped to create each year. Votan sent me a message the other night inquiring about this years leagues. If im being 100% honest with myself and with everyone that has played or is interested in playing, Im likely retiring from MTGS. Im willing to try to put together one last league but unless there is a massive upswing in the number of people who regularly post on this thread over the duration of the season, that will be it for me. So, if you're interested in playing Fantasy Football, PM me an email address to send the ESPN invite to. If not, best of luck to everyone in all their future endeavors

I blame soccer.... too many soccer fans bumping the World Cup thread. Nobody's thinking about the real American sport!
I sent you a PM. I'll still play if you're still willing to give it one more go.

I'm planning on playing in the league as well, if your running it.
In fact, I have been doing a couple of mock drafts, just wanted to get everyone's opinion on the teams I drafted:
1. Eddie Lacy (GB - RB)
2. Dez Bryant (Dal - WR)
3. Randall Cobb (GB - WR)
4. Andre Ellington (Ari - RB)
5. DeSean Jackson (Was - WR)
6. Matthew Stafford (Det - QB)
7. Stevan Ridley (NE - RB)
8. Golden Tate (Det - WR)
9. Philip Rivers (SD - QB)
10. Emmanuel Sanders (Den - WR)
11. Zach Ertz (Phi - TE)
12. Ray Rice (Bal - RB)
13. Ladarius Green (SD - TE)
14. New England (NE - DEF)
15. Jay Feely (Ari - K)
I was pretty satisfied with this one. I got two RB's that I think are pretty solid (Lacy and Ellington), though I wasn't as happy with my TE's and D.
1. Matt Forte (Chi - RB)
2. Jordy Nelson (GB - WR)
3. C.J. Spiller (Buf - RB)
4. Cordarrelle Patterson (Min - WR)
5. Cam Newton (Car - QB)
6. Greg Olsen (Car - TE)
7. Eric Decker (NYJ - WR)
8. Cincinnati (Cin - DEF)
9. Matt Prater (Den - K)
10. Aaron Dobson (NE - WR)
11. DeAndre Hopkins (Hou - WR)
12. Christine Michael (Sea - RB)
13. Joe Flacco (Bal - QB)
14. Jared Cook (StL - TE
15. Graham Gano (Car - K)
Wasn't as happy with this one, although I did manage to snag a pretty good RB tandem. My QB's aren't as good and neither are my receiving corps.
1. Marshawn Lynch (Sea - RB)
2. Peyton Manning (Den - QB)
3. Keenan Allen (SD - WR)
4. Larry Fitzgerald (Ari - WR)
5. Frank Gore (SF - RB)
6. Greg Olsen (Car - TE)
7. Golden Tate (Det - WR)
8. Russell Wilson (Sea - QB)
9. Cincinnati (Cin - DEF)
10. Darren Sproles (Phi - RB)
11. Anquan Boldin (SF - WR)
12. Antonio Gates (SD - TE)
13. Nick Novak (SD - K)
14. Greg Jennings (Min - WR)
15. Graham Gano (Car - K)
This one was pretty good. I normally wouldn't draft Manning with my second pick but it just came down to him being the best player available. I was happy with pretty much everything with this one. My TE's are pretty good, my receiving corps is on point and my RB's are stable (Lynch is a beast, Gore could go either way and Sproles is a great RB3.)
Me and the wife started an NFL.com fantasy league.
Standard scoring,
Playoffs week 15 & 16 for the top 4 teams,
10 Teams,
League votes majority for/against trades.
We have about 5 seats left open for anybody that's interested. Hit me up and I will send you an invite.
Last year I just went with random public leagues to avoid the headache of getting it all together, but I hated not having everybody actually play and set their rosters each week. Please only message me if you're serious. I understand the occasional blunder and forgetting to bench an injured player or something, but please at least make an effort.

I'd play a league if it fired. I know I wasn't around last year but now I have a bit more free time.
