Invites to fill up 2 leagues have been emailed. Working on filling League #3 now. 80 or so ppl have yet to respond to their PM's so we're off to a good start
on the right side of the page is the videos of the rumor.
I just can't wait for the season to start for my Lions because I'm having higher hopes than normal. We're on a 4 game win streak now, and I want to see this continue badly. Can't really chime in on the FA period...since that is starting later this morning. But, Mayhew and Co. have said they're not out to make big splashes in the FA period. Need to continue to develop some more.
Far as my WTF-FL, if anyone is interested in joining, PM me and I'll shoot you an invite. I'm hoping to drop a couple of inactives from last year and keep going strong. We are an ESPN league, so if your not a member of their site, you might want to get that done first. Before asking for my invite.
For anyone that may join that wants to know what my league is:
*ESPN League
*20 teams, with 5 teams in 4 divisions.
*Head to Head points. (obviously)
*Roster: 16 players
QB - 1
RB - 2
WR - 2
TE - 1
K - 1
OP - 1
D/St - 1
Bench - 7
*We observe ESPN's undroppable list.
*2 day Waiver period
*12 week schedule. Our playoffs start during week 13 of the NFL's schedule.
*Tie breaker is Most QB Points
*Playoff teams = 8. With 3 rounds of playoffs. Championship game is Week 15 of the NFL's schedule.
*Playoff Seeding Tie Breaker is Most Points For during season.
*Draft is scheduled so far for Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 9:00 PM ET. Snake style, and 60 second timer. Draft order is Randomized 1 hour beforehand
*Point system: Our point system is pretty much the ESPN standard, but I tweaked some minor things like giving 2 bonus points for certain outstanding achievements by a player and/or team. Like, 500+ throwing yards for a QB. etc.
Looking to fill 7 more spots in the MTGS fantasy leagues. Also waiting for a 1/2 dozen or so ppl who expressed interest to accept their invites and lock their spots
Okay, i'm not saying I don't love Belicheck, but SERIOUSLY??? I know this is old news at this point but Haynesworth AND Ocho? Atleast Haynesworth I can get behind, he's a promising player that punishes offenses and maybe someone can give him a swift kick about his personal life, hell it worked for Randy for a few years. But Chad Johnson(I refuse to use his stupid last name.) quits on plays/teams(something I saw out of Moss after the first season) and has the same level ego as Terrel Owens, who is potentially one of the dumbest guys I've ever witnessed an interview for. I can't see him actually doing anything for the team, and he's definately going to get overpaid.
While I'd like to see the Lions go to the west Final this year, it'll probably be the Stamps and Roughriders again.
We'll get Stampeders vs. Alouettes 3 in the Grey Cup and the Als will probably take it once again. I almost wish Calvillo would retire just so we can get some variation.

I don't have a CFL team, and none of my teams in any of the four major team sports have ever won a championship during my life. Should I get on board with the Stampeders now or or what? (Would love to be a frontrunner for once in my life, and can't root for a Montreal team)
Most of the analysts have the Stamps dominating the West this year and giving the Als a run for their money.
Als are missing a few key pieces from last year like Cobourne and Cahoon, so they won't be the powerhouse they have been even if the East remains a wasteland.
So yeah, Stamps do seem like a safe bet.
I'm predicting
You know as a Bears fan I feel sort of conflicted as to what to think about this off-season.
On one hand they brought in a lot of low risk, high reward players in Gholston and Williams. Walked away from Kreutz and brought in Spencer as the new center, which from a pure physical stand point is an upgrade. And traded Greg Olsen who while a great tight-end was not right for the system.
But on the other hand. They never brought in a free agent guard that they need. Kreutz was the leader of the offense and with a shorter offseason I don't think you let go of your leaders like that. And three I think they got too little for Greg Olsen and really the fact that the system was never adjusted to take advantage of him makes me mad/sad.
So as a Bears fan I feel confused on how I should feel if nothing else.

Good luck with Gholston.... *sigh*

I'm wondering if Ocho's BFF will join him? Lol.
Revis? Last time I saw them on the field, they were inseperable.
Yea I agree. Like Ochocinco and Haynesworth to the Pat's. I'm wondering if Ocho's BFF will join him? Lol.
That will literally be the day that I give up all hope. And I can't see both of them on the same team working out well, if 2 of your recievers take the same 3 plays off in a row you're looking at a 4th down.
So...the season is fast approaching, preseason starts very soon. is there a time for when we will be drafting?

Not yet....im in the process of moving from Orlando to Seattle (in South Dakota as we speak). I still need a few more ppl to fill league 4. I figure the drafts will be the last weekend before the regular season starts

Ocho will be ok, maybe even spectacular, but who cares? Brady makes a lot of WRs look good and Ocho won't be 2007 Randy Moss.
Really, the action to watch in New England is Haynesworth. IF (and that is one helluva if) he gets back to form, he's going to wreak havoc playing next to Vince Wilfork. If not, the Pats defense is going to be flat out bad, given how much they've overhauled around the guy.
My WTF-FL has 1-2 open spots. I say maybe 2, because a person I sent an invite to has yet to accept it, and it's been 2 weeks. It's nobody here, just a guy that a coworker "knows". i'm taking it with a grain of salt though.
So, if I get a couple ppl that want to join, I'll just cancel his invite. PM me like usual.
Far as NFL, we're getting screwed over in the injury department. (lions) i do figure though, since we had a bunch of back ups give us that 4 game winning streak, we might as well keep them in at the start of the season. lol.

The defensive line looks dirty this year, I like the pickup of Shaun Ellis.
I'm actually really pumped to see Boise State this year. They have a pretty young and talented corps of WR's and Kellen Moore is thirsty for some recognition, as he is at this point the next Tim Tebow when it comes around to draft time next year.
*SIGH* I knew my Bengals were gonna be bad.... but UGH!
I was watching the Reds game and flipped to the Bengals during a commercial... it was 31-3 at that point. I flipped back and decided to watch the commercials instead.
Seriously... that is a bad omen if there ever was one = throwing an interception on your first pass?
I didn't watch any of the game and haven't looked at the box scores and/or articles yet, so I don't know if the Bungles were that bad or if the Lions were that good. Probably a bit of both.
I know its pre-season but sheesh. I wish Goddell would take ownership away from Mike Brown kinda like Selig is doing to the Dodgers.

(about the English language) It's kinda like a raft that was cobbled together from parts of three different boats and since then has been kept barely afloat with crude repairs every time a leak appeared.
Still 3 spot left (plus 2 more where invites were sent but havent been accepted. If I dont have those spots filled by Sunday, then League 4 will be deleted and the 6 people who have signed up for it will be sent new invites for leagues 1-3 and those leagues will be 12 instead of 10 teams.
Well the UFL lost a team going from 5 teams to 4. The NFL lockout didn't last long enough to make any difference for the league. And to top things off, it looks like they still havn't been able to any tv deal that would give them decent exposure (ie better than vs. and whatever the other station was last year) and that pays them rather than the league paying to be on the air. Thing is, ESPN won't be it since they don't want to upset the NFL and I have heard that they have stated that they want nothing to do with the UFL.
Unless something drastic happens, looks like the league is done. I look forward to working the Sacramento games as a vender, but at this point I wonder if the league is even going to last the season. *sigh*

At least our FF leagues around here can get back to normal.
And as what is becoming a yearly tradition in NFL news...sigh. i don't even want to say it... but Favre might be coming back....again.....but as a backup to Vick in Philly.

Stampeders 14-4
Roughriders 12-6
Lions 10-8
Eskimos 6-12
Alouettes 12-6
Tiger-Cats 9-9
Argonauts 7-11
Blue Bombers 5-13
Dunno if that adds up, but close enough. Riders and Stamps in the West Final, Als and Cats in the East, Stamps blow out Als for the Grey Cup.
