Somebody is going to still throw money after him. So in the end he made more money doping than he would have made otherwise. Having seen Melky Cabrera live when he was with the Atlanta Braves, he utterly sucked. My feeling is that he will continue to be a terrible mediocre player next year.
It's a good time to be an Orioles fan. They have to be the MLB's biggest surprise this year. Everyone was waiting for them to fall apart after the all star break like they usually do. But instead, they are one game back from the Yankees.
I love the Orioles but I think it's hard to deny the A's are the biggest surprise. They're steamrolling everyone with a payroll basically $150 million less than the Yankees. It is Moneyball 2. No one could've expected that.
About Frox: for nearly 10 years, Frox has been helping women look good and feel great in easy-fit, mix-and-match, and work-to-weekend with just a few pieces by helping them make the right choices when it comes to clothing and accessories.
The wild card race is really heating up. Which two teams from each league do you expect to make it?
At this point, I actually think the A's can take the AL West title from the Rangers. They are on fire. Regardless, the A's are miraculously making the Playoffs; it's just a matter of in what fashion. But I'll play it safe and say they're the WC.
I'm thinking A's and Orioles, and Braves and Cardinals.

On the last game of 2011, the O's knocked the Red Sox out of the playoff race. And on the last game of this season, the O's need the Red Sox to beat the Yankees to have a chance at winning the division. I sure hope the Red Sox don't hold grudges.
EDH is like French fries: some people like waffle cut, crinkle cut, or plain old straight cut, and while there's slight flavor difference and personal preference, at the end of the day they're still fries.
Huge Athletics (A's) and Giants fan here. Have been for years. Can't believe the A's made it to the playoffs. Talk about getting key losses from other teams when they needed them.
Small joke here:
What would happen if the A's and Giants met again in a World Series?
Armageddon!
(Think back to last time they met in the World Series in 1989)
And a horrible umpire call that could have kept the braves from winning. I understand our defense played badly but that is when we get our runs in. Ughh what a disgrace to baseball the wc games are. Goes against the statistical philosophy of baseball. Seriously make it a series not over a hundred games gone over one game. At least chipper went out with a base hit like he came into baseball. The fans at the stadium were almost as worse as the umpire call though, I mean seriously on chipper's last game. What a disgrace.

San Francisco v. Cincinnati (Start time 6:30pm PST)
I may be biased in both of these series since I am from the Bay Area. With that said, San Francisco and Oakland will both move on the Championship Series. But in relaity, San Francisco will make it along with Detriot.
After that, we wait to see who will join them in the winneres of:
New York v. Baltimore (Start October 7th)
and
St. Lious v. Washington (Start October 7th)
The New York v. Baltimore game could go either way. They have been battling each other all year long for the division. This series could be one for the record books.
As for St. Lious v. Washington I am expecting the St. Lious to keep their srtive going and beat Washington in the Series.
Don't worry Oakland. it's hard to beat Verlander. Very, Very hard.
I think we'll get in the ALCS for sure. The playoff series we've been having with the Yankees the last couple times have been great played games. i can't wait for it. And to rub it in more Yankees fans when we win

*sigh*
and now we might get swept (and eliminated) at home.
its a shame about Tuesday's game; Baily pitched a gem with nothing to show for it. its extremely frustrating when a pitcher has an excellent game, with no win or a no-decision to show for it.
like King Felix when he won the Cy Young a few years ago: he led the league with a 2.27 ERA, but his record was only 13-12 record.
well, its not over yet.... I'm glad I'm off tonight, so I can watch the game. I've missed the last two Reds games due to sleep (working third shift makes it difficult to watch late afternoon games).

Jose Valverde and Jim Leyland are literally the two most worthless human beings on the face of the earth. Valverde for blowing the 2 biggest save opportunities of his career and Leyland for leaving him in long enough to do it. Anyone with half a brain could see that Valerde has absolutely no ability to pitch at a major league level. There is absolutely no scenario in which Valerde should have been left in after giving up the home run to Ichiro. I'm a huge Tigers fan and I basically knew we had lost as soon as I saw Valverde warming up. You could see the walk to Texiera and then the Ibanez home run coming from a mile away.
Speaking of Ibanez, he's got to be on PEDs. Bald and a sudden power surge? That doesn't happen naturally.

Recent A's and Giants fan here as well! As much as I hate the Tigers right now, I'd rather see them win just to watch the Yankees lose.
well, tough break for yankees losing Jeter the rest of the year. but, a win is a win for us. i watched the last couple innings after getting home, still can't believe Valverde blew another big lead.

Curious if we will see a repeat of the 2006 World Series.
Hopefully just a rematch, not a repeat, hehe.
But yea, it's definitely a good time in Detroit. I realize the Yankees are in the midst of imploding, but can't say enough about the Detroit starting pitching. Think I heard 1.04 ERA for the lot of them in this series? Pretty amazing.

And, welcome to Detroit, Oakland. Don't be surprised when we stomp you again like its 2006. :-D

DC beats St. Louis
Cincinnati beats San Francisco

I'd really like to see Cincy win it all. They are a hard-working team that is built extremely well.

Cicinnati defeats San Francisco 5 -2 (Cin 1 - SF 0)
I'd like to think we'd get a nice 3 run homer in Oakland to break a tie again to eliminate them like in 06.

I wasn't too far from getting this correct.
Also, 10th Inning for the NYY v. DET Game. 4 - 4 tie.

Went completely the other way.
Anyway, Giants fan here. I'm watching G1 of SF vs. StL right now (and what a great comeback just happened).
Go Giants, I hope they win the series (again).
Hopefully just a rematch, not a repeat, hehe.
