Right now they have a very limited time promotion of free digital comics. There are 700 (!!!) issue #1's available.
I've been enjoying their comics on my iPod and PC for awhile now. I think they're well done and pretty convenient, especially those for mobile devices. You can download a bunch of comics to read on long trips or just to read for a few minutes while you're waiting for someone. I was never really into the Hulk until I started reading his stories online and I've got to say, I like him much better than I thought I would. It's easy to discover new series on their app.
I'm not trying to advertise for them, so I won't link to the promotion directly unless a mod says it is okay, but you can find it at their official website (marvel.com).
UPDATE: So many comic fans responded to the promotion that Marvel's servers basically shut down. As a result, they ended the promo early, but put a notice up that they are working with their technology partner to rectify the situation. Since then, they've taken the notice down, too, so I don't know what that means. I expect it will take a while before they get it up and running again (and if they decide to continue the promotion).
I'll try to update this thread if I find anymore info.
(Hope it is okay to double post like this since I am adding new info.)

Hulk is my favorite hero, Necrogenesis. Planet Hulk especially and most of the Greg Pak and Peter David stuff is gold.
In any case - I haven't kept up with this - so are they now offering digital downloads of comics? Or is it still the subscription service to their archive? I dropped that because I ended up reading very little after I'd gotten through most of the modern comics.
