Nid support is stupid. By picking Nid, you tell your AD that you have no plans to support him/her. Zero peel or cc, abysmal damage, terrible itemization paths for a the intended role.
It makes me sad every time I see it, just like anyone who uses that defensive mastery that grants the shield on respawn
His counter points: If you're good with the champ, anyone can be a support. If you land a spear, you can peel for your carry easily. If you can take Shaco from Bronze to Challenger, then it doesn't matter what the champ pick is if you're good with it.
All but the bold is totally true, but that doesn't make her suitable for the role and a lot of people who play her there are unimpactful anyway. As for spears = peel thing... sort of. But discouraging people is worse than actually forcibly peeling them. And the average support has much more powerful peel anyway - I mean compare spear with death sentence. It's much better and then thresh also has tons of other peel on top of it.
Also, Nidalee can't initiate or disengage and supports basically should do one of those right now (usually initiate, in the current meta). In fact I'd say that defines the role much more than peel right now in general.
Oh yea, probably the best pro-support nidalee argument is how powerful her heal's AS is for sieging. Although early game she lacks waveclear and later on a mid nidalee can group with the adc anyway... It's not like it can't work but there's just no actual reason to do it aside maybe from maining nidalee and being insanely comfortable on her.

I find that the problem with support nid is that you don't bring much utility to the table. All you have is long-range poke and a small heal pre 6, then post 6 you have a gapcloser as well as additional MS. If this is all she's picked for, might as well pick Sona who: Brings more utility to the table, brings a stronger heal, brings a speedbost, brings an AoE stun(post 6), and brings auras. And if you're really good with her, she can bring: less damage, less speed, and less healing for the enemy team.
You play support Nidalee if you're trying to carry from the support position. You don't trust your ADC and don't expect them to contribute much. You think you're much better than the other players in the game around you.
If you're right about that, support nid can take over a lane if you're much better than your opponents are, then get enough gold to turn into a full fledged APC later. Of course, assuming you're much better than everyone else around you isn't a great plan, but hey, what do I know.
Man I was just telling people that I can't make vlad work this season and then all of a sudden I try again and he just works. Then again maybe my team builder elo is deflated.
Also yay I finally hit plat a little while ago. The kicker - it was in a series with 2 dc losses in the first 3 games.

Even for that, there are better champ choices, I'd say. Soraka and Lulu, for two.

Eh, AP soraka (especially one not on a solo lane budget) is pretty team reliant. If you really have the mindset of carrying you want burst, huge teamfight presence (as in an ult that kills people instead of healing) or at least mobility.
I would still agree with you though, and throw in Annie, Lee and especially Zyra. It's disgusting what a proper Zyra combo can do on a support budget nowadays, and she has easily the strongest lane control of any support.

So if anyone doubted me when I said Arrows had become better than Bullets... KTA just 2-0'd SKT T1 K. Yea. In fact for K to even get out of groups now, S has to get 2-0'd by what Prime, easily one of the two worst teams in groups. In other words KTA almost certainly just kicked SKT T1 K out of OGN.
As a huge Kakao fan I'm very happy. Also happy as a Samsung fan.

Nidalee is probably a top tier champ for "All 9 other players in this game suck, I'm just going to carry it and move on" play - she really can win pretty much by herself. And I think that's a decent chunk of the mentality that goes into picking her as a support.
11-0 win/loss as galio in ranked. This guy is so sleeper OP it isn't even funny. The last time wins were this guaranteed for me was with malph before people found out he was broken back in season 2. Almost to plat 1 promotions now

Maybe you're just good with him? He IS pretty good
I doubt it. I average 6 deaths a game and can't remember the last time I actually won my lane
OP is probably the wrong word, but I've never managed 11 straight wins on ANY champ (even Janna, my previously most successful champion). I definitely feel he's severely underrated.

A big part of it, I'm guessing, is that people forgot how to play against Galio. If you are reasonably good with a champion that has a strong kit, and isn't seeing a lot of play, then you should do well. I have a friend that hit Plat-1 last year in the final 2 months of the season playing nothing but Swain, because nobody remembered how to lane against him, and his damage surprised people. Galio seems like a similar story.
