That sucks man. Its honestly not supprising though. Smogon will likely ban all the megas to ubers before its over with. I don't bother with smogons tiers, but I see why people like it though.
Currently I'm trying to come up with a defensive set for a Metagross.
I saw one that was a screen user, it seemed pretty sweet. I agree the smogon tiers seem good but i do not like how they ban stuff. Its like magic if they banned everything that was played in type 2. They have no or little tournaments to go off of instead they just go off of what is most played etc. If they had regular tournaments or anything on a large scale to get competitive data from then i could understand the bannings better. If the same logic from smogon was applied here then basically any flagship card from standard in the past few years would have been banned.
Hey, I'm looking for Hidden Ability Eevee, Pinsir and Heracross. I've got Protean Froakies and Gale Wings Fletchings to spare, many with high IVs (4 or 5). I've also got high IV Charmanders, Flaafy, Sneasel, etc. Anyone want to trade?
Finally, some payoff for my wonder trade addiction: got a lvl 100 Giratina from it and various gen 2 and 3 starters.... good stuff.
I probably have an eevee or two with hidden abilities to spare and I can get some heracross and pinsir for you (straight from the safari unless you want them with some decent IVs, then I can breed a bit but it will take longer.)

Nah, as long as it has the Hidden Ability I'm good. I can breed it up.
Anything you're interested in that I mentioned?
I'll re-add you when I get home tonight.

I have hidden ability eevees (or i still should) I can give you one of those, as for the other two i know i do not have heracross though imay have pinser. I wouldntm ind a sneasel or flaavy.
Can anyone confirm or refute whether or not Shuckle can turn berries into juice, and juice into rare candies in X/Y? Because if they can, I'd rather breed 6 of them and spend my poke miles on berry juice than spend them on candies. I'm not even going to bother wasting them on that horrible lottery that is the balloon popping mini"game".
I'd also like to know what's in my Friend Safari, can anyone help me out? I've punched in all the codes from page 1, so you should have direct access after you punch mine in.

Do you understand how they go about banning things? The ones who decide what is banned and what is not are their ladder's elite. Smogon hosts a "suspect test" on Showdown to give players a chance to climb the ladder. The ones with the top points in the ladder (I think it was top 40 this time) are the ones who vote on what is banned and what isn't. As for how they decide what is suspect, they have an OU counsel who picks what is to be suspect for various factors when they feel it is appropriate. Personally, I think that Lucarionite and Genesect were deserving of a ban. You pretty much had to use both of them to qualify to vote. I'm enjoying myself a lot more now that they're banned as well

So I'm just getting back into Pokemon and thought I'd try and get started in competitive battling. Only problem is, I have really no idea how to build an effective team. I have Pokemon X and limited wifi access so I made an effort to stick to what's available at the moment, which is why I'm considering Hitmontop over other spinners because most of them require Y-exclusives to breed with and it seems preferable to trying to breed a Starmie without perfect dittos.
What I've got started at the moment is
Ferrothorn (tank/entry hazards lead)
Mega Charizard X (Physical Sweeper)
Vaporeon (tank/wish)
Gengar (special sweeper)
Hitmontop? (rapid spinner)
something else (not sure what role this should be)

I've been thinking a lot about what it all means. What have we learned about ourselves, and about the Helix.
The way of the Helix is not the straight path, the easy slow path of progress, NO. It is a frustrating spriral of
confusion and chaos. Circles upon circles. For the weak of heart it is not. Your voice might be drowned out by the chaos of myriad others, but the Helix teaches hope. Hope that our actions matter in a world we have little control. Hope that when it counts, when it's needed, our input will make a difference. And that the difference we make will benefit the masses.
That through the pain and through struggle, to be the best like no one ever was, through THAT struggle we learn what achiement truely is. For even if we do not reach highest peak, wherever we go we made it there together. We stuck by each other and worked with each other, even when our opinions differed. Without the guidance of the Helix it is easy to forget what an achievement walking through a door can be. Even more so when we walk together.
PRAIS HELIX!
But the Helix also teaches forgiveness. I think too many choose not to see that, or forget too readily. Rndmltrs was as much a victim of circumstance as Abby was when he let her go. Do not hate Rndmltrs, but forgive him for he carries a burden far greater than you or I could imagine.
Now there are some who would call me a heretic for what I am about to say, but it needs to be said. Flareon was no false prophet, I believe both Eevee and Flareon are saints of the Helix that were here to teach us a lesson. For neither were at fault for their fate, no Mon seeks to undue it's master. Everything that happened to the two of them was a result of our collective actions. Eevee taught us that the choices we make matter, Flareon taught us of consequence that every choice has. Look in your heart, consult the Helix Fossil. Let us not remember them for what we wanted them to be, but for who they were. For isn't that what we would want for ourselves?
Let us reflect on what the Helix has shown us thus far. Let us stay open to the lessons of tomorrow. Walk the path less traveled, straight into a wall. Consult the Helix, even if it's not time to use it just yet.
Concerning doubles, I'm still very much a beginner in many things pokemon, but this is what I've been able to glean about doubles in general:
1. Be prepared for Earthquake and Icy Wind (the most common "Wide" moves). Wide Guard and Protect are excellent to counter them. Fliers and levitators (Rotom-W.... AGAIN) of course command an even greater permium here.
2. MOTHERFREAKING AMOONGUSS!!
3. Trick Room is the real deal. Be prepared.
4. Many poke abilities become highly important: Lightning Rod and Storm Drain for instance, but also Telepathy to be able to spam wide moves. On the other side, all the new Veil abilities (Flower Veil, Aroma Veil, Sweet Veil) are great to have on your clerics. Inner Focus, while otherwise useless, is a great weapon vs the ubiquitous Fake Out.
5. Protect is the best move if the guides are to be believed. Functional copies of the move such as Detect are even better due to Imprison being used sometimes.
6. Scouting moves such as protect, fake out and the like are great
I'm close enough to having 5 IV Impish Bulletproof Chespins in Luxury Balls that know spikes that I figured I'd try and gauge interest.
Also, the smogon attack list recommends synthesis over spike shield, is that just a preference thing or what? Because it seems like a pain to get the egg moves from 2 different sources, even more so given the skewed gender ratio on all starters. And, this should go without saying, but I'm sitting on boxes upon boxes of Chespins, so if you don't care about IV's, or feel up to doing the breeding yourself, I have chaff. If nothing else, they can be used to get spikes onto Diggersby.
On a pseudo-related note, I need a Yveltal to complete my dex and get the oval charm, can anyone give me an assist?
EDIT: I have my breeding pair, and "chaff" can now be defined as 3-4 IVs. I also have a handful of extra 5 IVs.
So, my wife an I are getting these either today or tomorrow (amazon shipping, so we don't know which day it will arrive). Is there any noticeable difference between the two games, assuming you have a partner playing alongside you at roughly equal spot in the game who can trade any non-unique version exclusives? I understand there will still be things like the title pokemon, and the megaevolutions of charizard and mewtwo, but for the most part will it matter which one of us grabs X, and which grabs Y?

Anywho, check this one out:https://www.smogon.com/bw/articles/double_battles
It's for the B/W season, but is mostly relevant.
Edit: Oh yeah, and you get my favorite combo in the game: Justified + Beat-up. Because a Terrakion with +4 attack is just so right!
Also, the smogon attack list recommends synthesis over spike shield, is that just a preference thing or what?
