This is going to cause his support to grow quite a bit. What a massive failure. The worst part is reading the second eye witness account I posted and hearing about scared young people hiding in parking garages and getting assaulted just for supporting a presidential candidate. You can put some blame on Trump, and I don't think that's unfair to do so. But, to blame him entirely for the events of tonight is like blaming a car for running someone over and the driver having no fault. This is honestly just incredibly depressing. I fear for his life if he gets elected, and I'm not one to fear for the life of a billionaire with top notch security. This is just insane.
I think you would need to have better evidence than eye witness reports from Trump supporters. Given the situation they would likely be biased.
Also, dear lord that reddit page. It all makes sense now. If that's where you have been getting information no wonder you are in love with Trump.

I'd appreciate it if you'd not insult me for showing what evidence I've found when I was directly asked to give it. =| I loved Trump far before I found that sub, FIY. I read the Art of the Deal when I was 17. Started there.
Anyway, We'll have more of it tomorrow. It's still pretty new events. I only linked to Trump's reddit page because it's where the most information is being circulated right now. And, yeah, we're not very tolerant of Bernie supporters. I hated Bernie before I even found that subreddit. We've tried to be civil and have discussion with them when they come to that sub but it's virtually impossible and always ends in us being called racist and fascists which is INCREDIBLY ironic considering what Bernie said last week and now a literal act of shutting down freedom of speech by many of his supporters at the Chicago rally tonight.
You can reject whatever I've shown so far as proof, whatever, that's fine. Don't trust the media. I don't either. Supporting Trump and seeing all the lies and bias they've put on him has been more than enough to do so, but I trust the word of people who have no incentive to write up giant walls of reports. There's plenty of videos circulating on youtube right now showing the protest. It appears to be overblown, as only a few people were injured. There were quite a few fights, though. I was at work so I didn't get a chance to watch the live stream. Still a ridiculous thing that Trump had to cancel it in fear of the lives of his supporters as well as himself. Tolerant leftists.

Yeah, we can't rely on one side for all the facts. However, given how recent the events are, it's likely that Trump supporters are posting as things are happening, so there isn't a whole lot of time to fabricate or fake things. I wonder what the anti-Trump crowd's version of events look like.
The presidential candidate for the Republican party needs to be two things. The first is that he needs to be electable. The second is that he needs to be someone who can bring the country together to unify as opposed to bringing more divisiveness.

Not really sure how Trump is going to claim that.
I assume he'll claim it in his usual way. With casual disregard for the truth.
Obama inspired a seething hatred in Republicans, but not to the point of riots.
Not to mention, who's to say these protestors were even left-wing? I saw the hashtag #NeverTrump for the first time yesterday - it seems there are more than a few Republicans who really really don't want him as president.

The idea that Trump canceled this event because of fears for the lives of his supporters is ridiculous. Before tonight the only people having violence visited upon them at Trump rallies were protestors. And on numerous occasions Trump argued that protestors should be dealt with violently. After Trump cowardly backed out of this engagement, obviously things were bound to escalate. I think it is quite likely that Trump is happy about how things turned out. It plays into his narrative that it is Trump and his fans against the world.
While it is possible that Trump is not an explicit racist, and the Trump supporters on this website may not be racists, Trump intentionally appeals to racists and welcomes their support. He gives a platform to a racist ideology, and I imagine that this kind of grossness will continue. It appears that Trump read Carter's "The Politics of Rage" and like Wallace will not be out-******ed again. Only in this case more out-Muslimed and out-Mexicaned. I am sorry with my blunt words but this Trump stuff is frankly disgusting.
But, to blame him entirely for the events of tonight is like blaming a car for running someone over and the driver having no fault.
I don't think anybody here is doing that. Obviously, any participant in violence is responsible for their own actions. When Trump supporters have taken swings at demonstrators, they are at fault for that too. However, the fact that Trump is standing up there at the podium and literally saying, "Punch that guy in the face", is still pretty damn abominable.
You say you care about free speech, but you're supporting a man who is openly calling for political violence. It's like you said:
You never answered my question about why you don't like Bernie sanders.
I will. I'm in a terrible mood tonight and don't want to get into discussing one of the people who literally stand for everything I hate in this country. Seeing the world through the eyes of his supporters makes me empathize with those who oppose my candidate. That's all I can say positively about the man. I promise you I'll give you a full report with citations sometime soon.

So, Trump cancelled an event in Chicago for "security concerns" when large numbers of protesters showed up. After that announcement, supporters and protesters started fighting, and people have been injured. Wow, the violence is really escalating...
Protesters at Trump rallies have become increasingly aggressive and rude in recent weeks. The media whines and complains when a protester is hit or knocked down, and consistently fails to mention that the protesters almost always start the violence. Screaming and swearing and wearing vulgar shirts is an attempt to intimidate, silence, and/or censor. Free speech OUTSIDE the venue is appropriate, including passionate chanting and clever/strong signs and such. But what we are seeing here is the beginnings of desperation by those that receive "free" goodies from the statists. They are VERY afraid that the gravy train is gonna be decreased and/or abolished. The fact that one almost never hears of protesters at any other rallies is a CLEAR signal that DJT is either the worst candidate in this cycle or the best. (Meaning, for America and we the people). The status quo types, everyone but Bernie and Trump, do NOT want to change much in the centers of power.

Vive, vale. Siquid novisti rectius istis,

Trumps rally is shutdown by violent protesters. Honestly this probably helps Trump. It makes it look like he was right all along. It also highlights how divided the country is and how left behind white voters feel.
This bolsters Trump in the eyes of his followers and some people who were leaning his way. But if this keeps escalating, his opponents will be emboldened and independents will frown on the violence, regardless of who started it.
Also, I've never seen any evidence that the protesters are violent (other than Trump's word). Do you have reliable sources?
Vids are all over YouTube. Protesters interrupt Trump speaking, scream racist and vulgar comments in peoples' faces, sometimes start pushing/hitting, and then are "surprised" when some folks defend themselves. Clearly some Trump supporters have started fights too. This mofo is gonna go from bad to worse fast if the protesters keep trying to STOP free speech. We shall see which tactic/strat/ideology wins the war. I got my money on we the people.

Or maybe, just maybe, there are very little Trump supporters going to protest these events? I watch Bernie's rallies. There are no Trump protestors. And you have to realize the people who protest Trump rallies are almost always confrontational to the point of getting into people's faces, screaming, and grabbing their sings and ripping them up. I'm not condoning assaulting anyone, but I can see why doing that to the wrong person gets you punched. Trump shoulda' threw both of them out.

Trump turned $1mil into billions. Bernie has been making six figures for 30 years and has a net worth of a round $400k. No thanks, I'll stick with Donald on knowing how to handle the economics of the greatest nation on the planet.
Bernie actually did support communism. It's no big deal, I'm sure he's seen the light. It was a different time back then. To deny he did with the overwhelming amount of evidence that he did is pretty bias. I'll be the first person to admit Trump has done some shady *****, Trump University definitely being the worst example. I don't call him a Commie anymore, but he was definitely suspicious at one point in his past.

Well, I was responding to a post that asked why Bernie's not a target for violent protesters. You might see weakness, and that's a valid interpretation, but there haven't been any further incidents at his rallies since (that I know of). Maybe letting the other side speak their piece, instead of throwing them out the building, would ease tensions.
When I say emulate their candidate, I mean try to resolve things in a peaceful manner that respects the other side's freedom of speech. Isn't that what you were asking for when you complained about "tolerant liberals" a few posts back?

So trump can say rude hateful messages and its okay but if one of his protesters says anything his supporters don't like then its a free invitation to punch them from behind? I'm not following your logic mate.
Black Lives Matter tried to shut down a Bernie rally last year. The senator just stood aside and let them talk. Pretty big contrast between candidates if you ask me. Based on tonight's reports though, I hope that Bernie supporters try to emulate their candidate in the future.

no bro. He let them take over his podium, stand by like the weakling he is, and then let them call his entire crowd white racists who took time out of their day to come see him speak.
Emulate their candidate? You mean never earning a paycheck until they're 40 and living off government assistance? I'm sure plenty of them have that in mind.

First its not weakness to share your platform. Something Trump should learn. Second I don't know where you keep getting the idea that Sanders was on welfare till age forty but you were misinformed
Sorry, I should have said "A decent paycheck". Go look it up yourself, I'm not uninformed. It's one of the many reasons I don't like him, having come from nothing and made a decent living for myself at 26 while not running around advocating communist agenda's to help myself off the backs of those who work hard.

and please "advocating a communist agenda" you sound like a fearmonger from the 50's
