Vote for the poem(s) you feel is the best (up to two). Remember to adhere to the "Honor Code" when voting.
While it is understood there is no absolute means to monitor the intent of a vote, we ask each PRC participant to exercise integrity when voting out of respect for the contest:
- Please give each poetry submission an equal opportunity in attaining your vote.
- Please read, or at least skim, all the entries before voting.
- Please do not vote for your friends just because they're your friends.
The Poetry Running Contest puts good faith in its participants to act in an honorable manner.
Contestants, remember, you are required to vote (and you can't vote for yourself)!
Also, please leave a comment on this thread telling who you voted for as currently the polling system does not currently have the option to display that information.
Thank you and Happy voting!

sorry, I voted super late this round but voted for ilvaldi. I'm pretty sure you could write a cookbook and make each list of ingredients somehow appear pregnant with meaning.
imho I think glacier was really poorly served by its format, and wish it didn't rhyme. It was very nice otherwise but somehow the rhyming made it feel ... too convenient for the subject matter I think.
and thank you all for the kind words.

my mouth is full of winsome lies -
and eyes are full of death besides
but luckily the soul is wise -
it sees beyond my blindness and
forced failure makes a better guise,
so as i come again alive,
it feels like life's a decent plan

I'll quote you on that.
Also, Crucible, it looks like we have three winners. I don't know when Echoe voted, but last time I checked, "Wants and Needs" and "Fix You" were tied when you announced the winner.

The new poll format is really unfortunate, since we can no longer choose to make votes viewable (thanks obama/Curse). It may be time to alter the format so that the poll is conducted entirely through post declaration (it's time stamped, promotes a little extra discussion, and verifiable).
I did vote after the actual winners were declared, that's why I stated my post. It's probably best to either redo the winner or give it to someone else as I don't believe you can win while not voting (it's a /rule/!)

I did ask the Curse techs to give us an option to see who voted for what, but it obviously still has not arrived. The PRC is a community initiative, so any changes should be decided as a community.
Yeah, This time the poll format really made things a mess... I created the next round using the current format, should we have a separate thread to discuss a new voting format until the polls are fixed? I think that Zelderexs idea with just doing it via posts makes a lot of sense, is everybody fine with that version? If so I can implement that version next time or even remake this current round? I'll just go with the flow and do what people tell me. don't wanna make no waves or nothin.
Also from my possibly accurate calculations, if echoe is dq'd and we take away his vote for Ilvaldi, That makes Blippy the winner this round? Is my math right on that?

In my experience hosting, I believe the traditional penalty for not voting is:
- Minus one vote from the offenders poem.
- Suspension from PRCs until the offender votes in a Poll.
Which is where ilvaldi got his (correct, from my memory) list of winners.
i did vote, just late. not sure how that counts, but i don't really care too much [i'm the all-time prc champion or something aren't i?? that's probably enough ... ]
crusible, you're the prc runner! you get to pick everything and make a unilateral decision that we are all forced to agree with, no matter how absurdly fair it is. D:

If there is mass unrest, I could depose him in a coup d'etat! Though lack of drama is one thing that makes modding this board pleasant.
Ok, I'll make a strong leadershipy statement! I Declare BlippyTheSlug the winner due to at this times the vote count standing as such:
Rain Dance by Ilvaldi 42.9% of Users - 3 votes
fix you by echoe 42.9% of Users - 3 votes
Itinerant eyes with a penchant for by Zelderex 28.6% of Users - 2 votes
Glacier by IcecreamMan80 0% of Users - 0 votes
Wants and Needs by BlippyTheSlug 42.9% of Users - 3 votes
Due to the fact that echoe did not vote on time, One vote is subtracted from his total. I also feel that if we are counting echoe as not having voted, removing his vote from the total makes sense, that subtracts one vote from Ilvaldis total. This leaves BlippyTheSlug as the only one with 3 votes, ergo he is the winner!
After the current round (251) I am going to stop creating a poll, and instead we will conduct the voting by declaring our votes via posts. I will also update the rules to reflect this change. If and hopefully when obama gets around to getting our polls back into a state that meets our needs for this contest we can switch back to voting through that system. (totally taking this idea from Zelderex, cause it's a good idea)
If any of yall take issue with how I arrived at the winner of round 250, or the steps to prevent this debacle in the future, feel free to grab your broomsticks and let your voice be heard!
