Vote for the poem you feel is the best. Remember to adhere to the "Honor Code" when voting.
While it is understood there is no absolute means to monitor the intent of a vote, we ask each PRC participant to exercise integrity when voting out of respect for the contest:
- Please give each poetry submission an equal opportunity in attaining your vote.
- Please read, or at least skim, all the entries before voting.
- Please do not vote for your friends just because they're your friends.
The Poetry Running Contest puts good faith in its participants to act in an honorable manner.
Contestants, remember, you are required to vote (and you can't vote for yourself)! This policy is to help keep the PRC active.
Good luck!
**Interested, new participants should submit their poems here.
I went for Yanni's because it really just sounded good in my head, bouncing around. It has a flow that I wouldnt of expected had I not read it again.
I also chose Allergies because, as someone stated earlier, it almost wants you to talk in a raspy voice. Any poetry that forces me to change my usual speaking tone, is already highlighted on my radar.
Im also suprised I have at least 1 vote..... I don't like my poem and wished I had written it better. But then again, i am writing in Haiku..... which is a hell of a challenge to me.
It's close enough to the end of the contest were I can reveal the hidden meaning(s)
Meaning 1.
Burning books, mainly the Koran. This is from the point of view of people from the radical sect of the Tea Party. This meaning takes place during that pastor's choice to burn the Koran.
Meaning 2.
It's about tearing pages out of the bible to smoke weed.
Meaning 3.
It's about The Rape of Europe. Disregard the last line and it's about Hitler's cultural purge leading up and during World War 2.
