I'm trying to figure out whether this is better or worse than Quest for the Gravelord. Probably a bit better. Still, a nice card, and it's refreshing to see something so un-splashy.
Nether Tendrils was a way better name, it made sense as a creature and an enchantment /pout
It's pretty close to Quest for the Gravelord, yeah, but obviously better against anything that isn't running black. This card seems best against white weenie and RDW, where there is a fair degree of creature churn and it is hard to block him.
It was at that moment that I realized: I'm kinda just making these things up. We can just write the rules the way we want them to work. People will have fun, and people will get it.
Recent discussions here and elsewhere have made it clear that there seems to be a group of players who consider blue and control synonymous, as if they somehow started playing a game with four identical and "bad" colors that do nothing interesting because they just "turn men sideways" and then true, glorious blue, the only thinking person's color.

For an extra turn giving, cant be countered, protection from spells, opponent sacs 6 permanents, flying 15/15! Thats wayto expensive who would pay that?! As for me I would only pay .
I think it's a little unintuitive to put a +1/+1 counter on an object that isn't a creature. It does happen from time to time, but overall it seems rather strange. I rather a more flavorful counter and make it a *+1/*+1.

Flavor shouldn't always win. In this case, that adds quite a lot of unnecessary words for no good reason. In any case, I don't really see how it's unintuitive.

Any card with Tendrils in its name reminds me of an instant/sorcery, like Tendrils of Agony and Tendrils of Corruption. Mind you, I nominated Burden of Souls as a name, and I'm not 100% happy with it either (it sounds more like a creature). I personally feel the chosen artwork was particularly difficult to name a card for, in terms of combining the mechanics and flavor into a coherent whole.

This card is better because it can easily grow beyond 5/5 and also because it can already attack in earlier game.
I don't think the name is appropriate, because it suggests something negative for all the death, but in fact it makes something that grows bigger.

ya know, i need to find these polls so i can start voting.
on topic, this card would work great in a zombie deck, or, heck, anything with massive amounts of tokens and self-sacrificing stuff, such as in ROE.
synergies well with any instant speed sac/pump, sac/destroy (vicious betrayal, death bomb, respectively) or animate immediately after a Wrath effect late-game in multiplayer.
all in all, it works perfectly in my savra, queen of the golgari EDH deck. it fills a slot ive been trying to fill for about two months now, seeing as i cant just bring myself to put in sadistic glee.
tl;dr- i like it, and i would run the -crap- out of it in most decks i play, prolly as a 4-of.

I really really like this card. The art is really good. The name is great. I like the power level of the card and I enjoy how it becomes a creature from being an enchantment. Overall, 100% i would have to say. High Five, great job.
I actually love the cards you guys make on these boards – this one is really cool – but you guys never get the rarity right. I mean, it's debatable. But my gut says that this is a rare much more than uncommon, just because of how relatively off the wall the effect is. The more I think about it, actually, the more sure I am. Regardless of power level, enchantments turning into creatures is a lot more complicated than just putting a token into play. (And it actually is a little bit better than Gravelord.) See how cards like Spellweaver Volute, Painter's Servant, and even Bronze Bombshell are all rare, even though they're not exactly game-enders in limited.
(For more on this, read Making Magic (MaRo talks about it a lot), as well as the Great Designer search archives. It's a tough science, knowing how to assign rarities. But once you get the hang of it, you see how easy it is. Rare vs. Mythic can be very complicated – would Lotus Cobra still be Mythic if it didn't have Lotus in its name? Would Obsidian Fireheart still be Mythic if it weren't for the really sexy reminder text? Very interesting stuff.)
Interesting take on Khabal Ghoul, both giving a nod to its (incorrectly) perceived mana cost of B and including an activation ability to bring its "actual" cost more in line with its predecessor. The fact that it can't be hit by sorcery-speed creature removal is awesome. Good card!
EDH/Commander is a social format, right? So why don't people use their social skills to discuss what they like and don't like, instead of adopting a list with 60+ banned cards?
Nether Tendrils was a way better name, it made sense as a creature and an enchantment /pout
You're pouting? My mechanic was leading the vote every time I checked, then the round closes and my least favorite submission has passed it :gonk:. Wait, that's not true. It was my least favorite submission that wasn't a Lich knock-off. But anyway, it still makes a nice card when all is said and done.
I also disliked every name in the vote, but couldn't think of one that would better sum up the card myself. Idk, all of the best names fit it loosely.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
I quite like this one. I agree that the name selection was not that great, but I think the best one was chosen. I'm also not a big fan of the art but hey its not too bad. A good overall result!

I'm not quite as satisfied with this card as the first one, but being a community effort that's bound to happen. We'll see how April's goes.

Really powerful.
Seems it should cost a bit more each time you activate it.
And the name doesn't make sense.
