(I don't see how Devourer of Innocence became Improve upon Innocence with just a "tweak." The mana cost was drastically changed, an ability was lost, a line of text about exiling a card from a graveyard was added, and it went from a creature to a sorcery. That is, bare minimum, two tweaks.)

The creature had an additional ability that allowed the player to draw a card. The sacrificing of a creature had nothing to do with producing a token, so changing it from sacrificing a creature to removing a card from a graveyard would be a minor tweak, but, in the same breath, merging that drawback into the token ability and removing the card draw would be a more major tweak. Changing it from creature to sorcery would be a tweak as well, if mechanical fidelity was maintained, but it wasn't. The card was entirely changed. The only thing the two cards had in common were the word "Innocence" in the name, and the type of token they produced. That is not a tweak, but a complete overhaul.
