I think this is much too complicated to be considered representative of a Portal set. The portal sets were meant for new players (which I'm sure you know). They were meant to serve as a "portal" of comprehension from the ignorant muggle world into the enlightened wizarding world.
I'd pick Standward, Lord Gearsmith (of course). Followed by Bathar's Lightning.
I was aiming at Advanced, it's time for "Portal" to graduate to the big lezgues. Mainly I wanted to set it on the plane with guns... but couldn't find the plane's name easily.
If I knew ahead of time about any good common/uncommon vehicles in the set (vehicles tend to be quite aggressive for the cost in drafts) I'd pick Standward.
Other than that I'd pick either Ebon Blackmailer or Wispweaver, because a 1-mana specter minus the evasion is an incredible turn-1 play in draft, and because that faerie looks suspiciously like a certain overpowered mage.
I feel like both of those should be uncommon rather than common; Wispweaver is substantially better than Snapcaster in certain cases.
