Redesign the Back of the MtG Cards And redefine a classic!
We had some interesting entries for March. Here are some updates to the traditional back of our beloved magic cards, comming directly from the imaginarium of some artists of our community.
The challengewas:
"Take the traditional card back and twist it to look like a brand new design. Make it to look more modern or, on the contrary, more oldie. Do whatever you want to it, but be sure to leave at least one easily recognizable element from the old back design into your brand new one."
Before presenting the entries, I would like to remind you of three things:
1. You can vote for more than one artist at the same time. Feel invited to do so, in particular since we received so many entries.
2. Please consider how each entry fulfilled the challenge outlined above before you vote - you are the scoring judge!
3. You can't vote for yourself. It's easy: Voting for yourself isn't the spirit of the contest, so just don't do it.
Poll Rules - Please read before voting
When voting, please assess how each entry fulfilled the challenge and take into account the quality of work submitted
Multi-vote: You can vote for more than one entry and this way give credit to more than one artist.
You are not allowed to vote for yourself. Votes are public and can be seen by everyone else
Feel free to comment on your vote. People will appreciate it.
Entries are displayed in the order they were submitted: first entries first, last entries last
The participant with the most votes will win. In case of a draw, the winner will be determined by the roll of a dice
This poll will close on 16 April
Here are the entries:IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to a change in the size of some of the entries, the quality of these could have diminished a little. We have changed the entries sizes to be more comparable between each other (we have increased and decreased sizes from some entries.)
@Piet: Yours is my favourite one by far. I really dig the simple style you have chosen for the color wheel. While being very modest, it looks pretty cool and flashy.
Misting: I consider your design pretty interesting. What a shame that the size you used made it very difficult to enlarge (at a regular size it would have looked amazing!) Also, I think the dragonlike details aren't necessary. Removing them would make the design to look more professional (from a marketing perspective.) Just my thoughts.
