I think those forces are done by T. Nielson herself. Otherwise someone is copying her work posted on her website.
Checked it out - definitely not Nielsen's work; she signs her stuff plus the colours are noticeably different in her alterations when compared to the cards posted...someone is definitely copying though
Another two from artisticallyaltered on the auction site that is full of people paying far too much money for bits of cardboard
Like me!
This one's a bit murky if you ask me...and the Extirpate should have the lightning stuff going through the bottom of the card, like on tuckerwolfe's. Am I being too critical?
the guy on the daze says "Oh no, even more sperm are attacking!"
Great job, those look really nice.

Chandler that batch is sick. I like how your solution to the cranial extraction. [Sucks we're both doing this in the same area]
Yeah, no way were those Forces done by Nielson, those are really amateur-ish. I don't mean that in a bad way, I probably couldn't do better, I just mean they obviously weren't done by a professional artist.
@ Tucker, and everyone else who paints on cardboard with good monetary results - I keep trying to get yawg to form like an artists guild with me, so we can pool ideas and share tips and stuff, but a lot of people I talked to who had their alterations up for auction, didn't seem too chatty, and most of them don't even post stuff anymore. At any rate, I guess that's what message boards are for. :/
I'm always up to share any info on what I use and how. I've been working on a "how to" step by step tutoral (I was going to use my lastest island but I didn't really take enough pics as I was working on it).

Heh, I was considering an Avatar of Woe, but I thought I'd have to continue the crying women to the edge, and that was a bit above my talent level. Nice work on both of them.
The 2 from artisticallyaltered look a tad rushed compared to the others from her?
The Nielsen wannabe ones are just bad. They are obviously not the same thing.

Yeah, I haven't put much up in a while (I was the one you contacted about having a similar ebay listing? :D). I've been working on some commissions, and even then I'm strapped for time. I am planning on putting some more up soon though, after I get done with this batch. I would be open to whatever you guys suggested, but I'm not quite sure what you guys were thinking? A general ground rule for pricing, etc?
the guy on the daze says "Oh no, even more sperm are attacking!"
lol, Yes, I was definitely starting to fel sorry for him after I finished the first one. Those little sperm were a ***** to do though, between matching the original blobs, and detailing them. Or maybe it was doing all 4 cards?
I dont know if this has been posted already but I came across it. Stick it out theyre from all different artists; many you've seen before. You've got to see the foil power 9! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx-nJwPLzjo

hey tucker, the foil p9 proxies are really cool, my one friend actually has a set of them to use when he plays in tournaments, most judges allow it because most of his vintage deck is foils, plus a bunch of the vintage tournaments have started allowing proxies for power

Catherine, you keep making these awesome cards and I will keep buying them!
Full Bleed has definately brought Life to some old Legends!!!
Thanks to All of You who have time to express yourselves with your talents, you have definately found a Market!!
How would one go about making Foil Proxies?
Do you erase, or does that take off the Foilness as well?
I assume sharpies would work well here because you want to see the shiny behind it, and paints dont really allow that...
here's my amateur artwork that I've been doing. What do you guys think? Should I keep this up? This is my first time really working with acrylics, so go easy. I'm still getting the hang of how they work. Plus, I don't even have any real brushes. I used the core of a pen with some bristles from a larger paintbrush glued to each side. Comments welcome.
The Mox Jet looks meh, but the pictures for them are kind of meh anyways, nothing on your part. Otherwise, yes, you should keep it up (if you are enjoying it anyways!).
Quick nitpicks- the beatdown Ritual, which is actually one of my faves you posted, the white border detracts from the rest of it. The MM Dark Rit is beter, but I don't see why you didn't just finish it, as you already covered most of the text. But really, overall great work, keep posting any more that you do!
The foil proxy (p9s). Those are sick- how are they made? I don't see any way to foil out a card other than printing it yourself, the foil layer comes completely off, and is attached to the rest of the art.
From what I've heard, you can reapply the foil layer of a card to anything after you peel it off if you use the proper procedure, although I've never tried it myself.

umm.. hm. This is a WIP for a commision... I'm not sure how I feel about it so far; I'd like input. I can't figure out what's supposed to be going on with the background so it's hard for me to continue it...
I hope I don't come across as the party pooper here. As much as we all admire lots of the artwork in this thread, there has been several circumstances where people have replied with very short posts expressing how much they enjoyed a particular piece.
I have no problems with people admiring the work of others, but we need to try and make posts that have a bit more content and/or add to the thread. Posts like, "Great work!" and "I like the Swords to Plowshares, it's awesome!" are really bogging the thread down. So, if you're making a post and it's one sentence, then chances are it's probably not worth posting. In short, I would greatly appreciate it if everyone could try to contribute more when you post, please. Pretty please even.
Thank you.
With that said, I would like to welcome all of the new names I've seen appearing here in the Artwork Forums. If you haven't had a chance to check out the contests, you may want to do so. We have a bi-monthly contest that has just started that offers everyone the opportunity to try their skills out in this kind of alteration work.
In addition, I really appreciate the work that has been produced here. You are some VERY talented people and I know I feel fortunate to be able to view all of these submissions and admire them. Thank you each for making the Artwork section that much more enjoyable.:D
Since mirrodin is all metal I would think that the background for eternal witness would be a quicksilver (mercury) creek. With maybe the remains of a plated slagwurm or roaring slagwurm in the background. This would make sense because she could witness their demise and resurrect them again. Since mirrodin was all metal all the slagwurms never decompose. Then again maybe I am way off.
Edit: PS I love the guiness references. Maybe adding, My Goodness, My Guiness would be cool. That was for the one with the bird.
Man, everyones stuff is looking awesome lately!
I finished the Imp.Recruiter for my friend!
Man that card was a lot of work and it isn't perfect but it REALLY stands out as something special.
Also, it marks the most expensive card I've ever altered.
And finally another Work-In-Progress for you guys ...
