That card looks awesome. But as i remember it was altered with a litographic printer or something right? Have no idea what that means, but that it aint painted :P.

Awesome? Really?
(Hi RanMN, I know you are still lurking!)
Awesome? Really?
(Hi RanMN, I know you are still lurking!)
You don't think so? I like it because it reminds me of Castlevania (the atmosphere and the flames). It isn't from Castlevania though, but it sure looks like it. Which is the reason i like it and think it's awesome :).
So proxy those are just amazing!!! I really want some and if you don't mind could I take a stab at making a set? If not I understand and would like to talk to you about doing some for me?
DrLambda nice job for first time!!! Keep on going.
This thread is for competitive decks only. Your deck is not Grixis Control, as you said yourself. A serious decklist with shroud and counterspells belongs here, not a for fun/casual decklist with bad discard. Sorry, but your princess is in another castle.
From the feedback of that ebayer, who we can only guess is the infamous RanMN:

Card was not as mentioned in description. Damage on the back of the card.
artmtg's response:

Once again how is it different than described? Some paint on the back is common.

like on the picture, but NOT PAINTED. Very dirty work in my opinion

Seriously?Thiswas not listed as hand painted, what sane person wouldthink itwas?
Poor guy got suckered in by the careful omitting of certain information.
Funny how much of this guy's positive feedback are statements like: "Liked the card, but was under the impression that it was hand painted, isnt"
"Very nice! However, you might want a disclaimer that your cards arent hand paint"
"good shipping. artwork was a little dirty, card shipped was not card shown"
"Looks great on front, not great on back. Not sure it worth it. Overall OK"
Looking at artmtg's ebay history, it appears he's raked in about $2500 since last December. I wish Ebay would force him to include a disclaimer saying clearly that his cards are not hand-painted, but rather printed on from a printer. His "work" is taking advantage of many customers who are fans of hand-painted card alters.
He's only been a member since last November though; maybe Ebay hasn't gotten around to him yet.
I would love to congratulate everyone on their recent card alters and offer critique, but unfortunately 90% of your uploads & links I cannot view in this thread on my work's internet (photobucket and friends are blocked :() so I'll try to do so tonight
RanMN is using fanart/artwork done by other artists for his own profits. I actually know one of the artists he's stolen art from, so don't be surprised if he vanishes from the auction site one day
To be fair, his listings neither look hand painted nor are listed as such. He mentions acrylic paints in his line about commissions, but that doesn't seem misleading to me; he's talking about contact for commissions not products being auctioned. He mentions lithographic printing in the same line.
I mean, I don't make money pursuing any artistic endeavors, and the efforts in this thread seem especially to avoid the possibility of counterfeit. I would be more worried about running an umezawa's jitte that was not legit than about how it looked.
Edit: also btw very nice work ondal, that ritual was always my favorite. If only they were holding their secret meeting in a pool of blood, they would be blacker than anything.
Got a new one. I started it a couple weeks ago and then had to take a break, during which time I was surprised to hear it would be reprinted in Rise of the Eldrazi (spoiler alert).
Anyway, I like how it turned out, but man was it a pain trying for that much detail on the face. I have a couple of commissions to fill, and then I'll be jumping to yet another franchise for fun fan art.

Absolutely amazing! Greatest Yawg Will ever! Going to have to get everything rush shipped here, can't wait
Comic alters are already extra awesome, you go and do one of the best comics ever.... I don't know, gotta be careful might be to much awesome for one card.
Only criticism I have is the hair does not seem defined real well (could be the picture) but this makes mask look disembodied and floating.
Also, the hat in the picture looks more like a Bowler hat opposed to a Fedora.
But still seriously fantastic!
Seriously there needs to be a set of these from various part of the book.

OK, so how would you guys handle a potential 'rip' situation with an alter?
I've been in fairly regular communication with the alterer in question, they apparently shipped product to me from (Europe) and when the item doesn't show up, I try to contact them for status update and at this point, a few weeks later, I get no response from them.
For a few weeks now.
What would you guys do? I don't want to raise a big stink in the thread over this (with the artist) but I would like to actually get the card I paid for.
What to do? It was paid for in PayPal but it's been several months.
