I made a digital playmat. I plan on getting it printed.

Actually I have one (potentially odd) criticism about the layout. To me it seems very odd the way Garruk's left hand and weapon point flows right in to the top of Thrun's staff - it makes it seem like a direct continuation.
Hey guys, just wanted to post a couple of playmats that I have designed digitally and had printed off. I do a lot of photo-manipulation work with some added digital illustration.
"Bloom"
"Knights"
--Both playmats were made with personal stock photography. I used my girlfriend, Kayla, as the model for "Bloom" and a collectible knight's helmet I've had since I was a boy in "Knights." Feel free to check out my website for other work I've done, and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Hey all, I've recently been looking into altering some blank playmats and was wondering what kind of markers/paints/fineliners you all use. Or maybe you use pencil? Any feedback would be much appreciated, thanks
I use prismacolor, but I actually prefer the quality of copic a little more (both are quality, though). Copic just aren't comfortable in my hand, so I don't use them.
How do you do that on playmats no less? I've tried in the past to do a mat, but it comes out all terribad...
Plus, I'd do anything to have skill like you, I've been out of practice for about 6 years now, lol.
Thanks! I use Pigma Micron pens and very, very little pressure. It's a labor of love and no quick way to go about it (that I know of, at least). Sharpies are aaawwwfffuullll IMO because they bleed all over the place, and are a bit more prone to smudging than archival ink. The finer tips allow for an insane amount of control, to the point that it almost feels like cheating.
And hey, you might feel out of practice now, but if you start today, you'll feel less so tomorrow, and so on. To be honest I haven't had a chance to work on hand drawn mats in forever because of other commitments, but I plan to as soon as I get a break. It's never too late
so as ive been doing modern abstract art for a while I wanted a playmat that reflected that and not a magic related image. Used some markers lying around the house and a blank playmat I picked up for cheap and here is the result. Had a little bleeding as I sprayed the fixer on too soon and heavy, but as with most abstract art it doesn't really matter anyway. Hope yall enjoy.
Been wanting to draw Bane breaking the Bat on a mat for a long time. Finally took the time to do it. My last few mats have been full mats in color, so I opted for black and white for this.

Very well drawn! How long did it take you to make?
I started it on January 17th while my wife was out. There's probably 10 hours at my table in this, but it was mostly in 30-45 minute increments at night after our daughter went to sleep, so it took considerably longer than it should have (especially because a lot of my time downstairs is spent finding something to listen to).
someone at my LGS at this . Can't find where to get it and don't wanna rob the artist and just put it on inked playmats.

It's been a while since my last post. I'm not making nearly as many mats since my second daughter was born. Very busy being a Dad.
Here is my latest mat. This one is available. I have been thinking about this a long time. Something that represented the Legacy Miracles deck well. Featuring JMS, Counterbalance, Terminus, Divining Top, Brainstorm and Entreat the Angels. Based on the artworks by Jason Chan, John Zeleznik, James Paick, DiTerlizzi and Todd Lockwood.

I have been slowly working on a custom play mat for a friend. I bought an ultra pro white mat and have been using sharpie fabric markers for it. I'm almost finished and someone asked me what I was going to seal it with. I hadn't even thought of that! The colors are already starting to fade. HELP!!! What on earth am I supposed to use??
Here's a pic of the mat. I still have a bit of work to do on it.
So, I got this done at Dragon*Con this year and was wanting to get it framed, after I get a copy of it from Inkedplaymats. Some people suggested I put an acrylic coating over it, one artist suggested scotchgaurd. Basically, I want to make sure the sulfur that comes off the rubber is able to breath out and that the sun won't destroy the marker on the mat if it gets hit by the sun for prolonged periods of time.
I read through some of the posts pertaining to this subject, but I just wanted to make sure that acrylic is a good way to go.
Hi I am fairly new to mtg salvation as well as posting on forums and stuff. Anyway I did a custom playmat with an original art of my own, I just can't seem to find the right medium to use for the ink not to bleed or to get fine lines, I would love to add some more details to my future creations.
Comments and critics are also welcome as I always strive to improve myself.
EDIT: I used regular sharpie and steadler Mara graphic 3000 duo, looking for another sharpie ish type of pen or what not that would allow me to add more details.

Otherwise pretty cool.
