which set's artwork do you like the most?
the sets with my favourite artwork are probably 7th edition, Coldsnap , Mirrodin an dprobably the Alara block
Actually I've liked most of the artwork from Ravnica forward. Yes, that includes Lorwyn. I don't care that there are many people that didn't like it, I found a lot of it to be quite appealing (particularly pieces like Ashling the Pilgrim).
Kamigawa block, easily. Part of it is the connection that the art and the flavor text build together. Say what you will about it being a parasitic or underpowered block. It felt the most real. The kami's haunting visage captures you and brings you in. You can see the desperation in the eyes of many of the human subjects. I did have a problem with the goblins and the ogres of the set, but that still pales when the block was largely dominated by spirits and humans. Variety, detail, and haunting flavor text? I'm surprised nobody else has answered that way yet.

You know you have played M:TG too much when you find yourself calling shotgun "in response" to your friends calling shotgun.

i really like ravinica block and its gothic style. i especially liked the landscapes from that plane and the intergration of artificial and natural things in the art. my next favorite would be the oiginal mirrodin.
in the past sets, yes the art hasn't been bad, but it hasn't had those amazing pieces.

Definitely Kamigawa overall. That art told a story by itself; it's one of the few sets where I actually felt we were exploring some sort of mystical foreign world.
Shadowmoor was also quite similar to this, though not quite as strong on the flavour front. More of an atmospheric setting, but in that single aspect it was better than Kamigawa.

On top of that, you can't beat zendikar lands. You just can't.
Definitely.
Also I really like Lorwyn/Shadowmoor blocks(oversoul of dusk, inundate, etc.), especially eventide. A lot of people didn't like these for some reason, but I think they really go well with the flavor and just because they aren't realistic doesn't mean they're bad.

I also loved much of Alara, mostly because Raymond Swanland did work for that one, and he is hands down my favorite artist.
