So I noticed that when I posted into the article thread about the launch, I keep getting updates about it when I have the option switched off. I also have to keep tapping the link I want, such a posting this post, because it gives me an info bar when I tap it the first time.
Only thing that's irking me about the forum change is going down to 25ppp, from 60ppp. Irritates me a little when I'm a mod in a tournament, although I don't have to worry about that part for much longer.
I remember hearing this was supposed to have been fixed from 25ppp to 50ppp. Can an admin explain why this was reversed? Or if its a glitch with the move?

I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
What I like about the new MTGS : hover-over card links are freaking great and keep up with other similar sites. Forum browsing is slicker, more informative (tells you how many are viewing so you can go to where a discussion is more likely to be going on). One of my major peeves with the old MTGS seems to have gone away, too..being automatically logged out every 10 seconds (well, that's how it felt). Now I can start writing a reply, check a basketball score, get distracted on a diablo 3 forum, or whatever and not have to be bothered to log back in every time I want to finish my reply on MTGS. I like that.
What I don't like about the new MTGS : the site seems a bit slower than it used to be, but that's not too bad. I don't really have many complaints, except that I wish that card links still went to the old .info and from there to tcgplayer rather than where it goes now. I like being able to click on a card and check its market value without having to use my keyboard.
It appears the "thank this post" system has lost its chief virtue, which (in my opinion) was the links in my user profile which would take me to all the posts I had thanked or all posts of mine that had been thanked by someone else. This was a good feature, and it would be nice to have it back.

A limit of time is fixed for thee
Which if thou dost not use for clearing away the clouds from thy mind
It will go and thou wilt go, never to return.
Ætherling is incredibly annoying to get the symbols for. Aetherling should still link to the card but does not currently. There are several cardes out there that start with Æther such as Æther Flash and a few others. It would be nice to get these cards to link as well with aether which is entirely too much of a pain to go find the symbol to get it to work.
Its possible that someone with privileges to alter cards and such might be able to work this out. I dont really know what the spoiler editor guys have access to though.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
Things I really miss that may have been mentioned already:
Thread URLs that aren't eight miles long and don't turn to alphabet soup when I quote a post. Karona forbid you quote a post with a quote in it!
An option to hide signatures. They're often huge and some people just don't care for them.
Not being reminded that the link I just clicked isn't on mtgs. An option to turn this off would be gr8.
60ppp. My scrolling finger is starting to atrophy already.
vBulletin 3 style. Traditional avatar-on-the-left posts take up a lot of vertical space. The more posts I can fit on my screen at once, the happier I am.
A users currently viewing the thread list. This is useful as a moderator so I can snoop on delinquents, but also in general so you know when your pals are lurking about.
The ability to right-click > save avatars. This seems dumb but it's pretty useful for when I accidentally delete mine, or for editing somebody else's in the ye olde sigge shoppe.
Saving old avatars for easy switching. Can we get the same thing for signatures? Is there a limit to this? Very exciting.
It's pretty!

that system is for security. It can be disabled by the admins however.
the PPP is set by admins per forum. Send them a PM about where you might want more
Users currently viewing is a maybe - its something being looked at
If you right click and "inspect element" you can get the pic from there
Servers are showing an avg 30ms page responce. What issues are you having atm?
I seem to have all my mod powers but no posting privileges over here.
Glad to see all the old links haven't been broken but I'm sad to see the move to a word-based instead of numerical system for the urls. They're clunky and there's no obvious way to use them. On the old forum I could link to specific post and alter the url to 'showpost' in order to have only that post show up or 'showthread' if the posts around it were in any way important. It seems like the 'showpost' version just doesn't exist anymore. (I also don't like that clicking on the post number brings up a box with a url. Almost anyone who uses the internet knows how to copy a link without this kind of hand holding.)
EDIT: I tried to merge some threads and got an error message. The old threads now redirect to the target, which shows the correct number of posts. However the new thread only contains its original posts and none of the supposedly merged ones. Would appreciate some help in restoring these.
added to doc about the merging - can you please provide a link?

please contact the admins. They can up it per forum
I can't remember if I put this in an older feedback thread or not, but someone earlier mentioned the ability to hide signatures. I want to second that.
I also would love the ability to hide avatars as well.
Personally, I'm a very text-based person, and I like simple boards that are just the topic at hand, not cluttered up with sigs and avatars and other non-thread related noise, so I turn those off as much as I can when I can.
All these super long quote chains need to be disabled. Have the quote button only take the post you are actually quoting, not everything that post it quoting too.
Quote chains are not something we are looking to disable. However Ill add it to the doc for a disccustion
whoa. I didn't even see this thread, and probably 1/2 of what is here in this subsection until after I posted in another thread about sig problems.
so I guess that's issue #1.
#2, is what I posted already in that thread.
I'm having the problem of the formatting not saving at all unless it's the crap like i got right now. I figured the character limit was drastically cut, which seems rather ridiculous, but I'm just wanting to be able to save what I put in.
Oh, and there is no Font button to change the font in the Sig editor either.
Is there any chance to have our character limit back to what it was?
Also, I don't see a line break for Sigs on the dark skin either.
That's all I've found.
added to doc about the merging - can you please provide a link?
The issue seems to have sorted itself out and I'd rather not replicate it just for testing. It occurred when I tried to merge five threads with 27 posts between them. I got an error message saying it couldn't be done but when I went back in it showed four redirects to the merged thread, which only contained the original posts. (They were also pinned threads, if that helps trying to figure it out.) Sorry, should have screen-capped.
Could someone fix me not being able to post in that sub-forum? I assume something is up with the permissions for Non-Staff World Project Leaders since I can post everywhere else.

This is set by the admins now on a forum by forum basis. They will be updating them over time from user feedback, so if you'd like a specific PPP on a certain forum, please let them know.

I don't understand this at all. PPP and Threads displayed per page are strictly user preference with no good reason to hard set as different people like different things, even within the same forum. I can't imagine that this would cause any problems on your end as the dozens of forums I have been a part of over the years have completely had this as a UserCP setting.
This may seem insignificant, but I am already getting really frustrated with seeing only 15 threads per page. This forum - as I am sure you are aware - can have hundreds of threads posted in, in a very short period of time. Trying to scroll and see what is out there is all but useless with 15 TPP and 200 Threads to scroll through.

What's the reasoning behind taking this choice away from the users?
When I click on the "Forums" button or try to go to www.mtgsalvation.com/forums, it instead redirects me to www.mtgsalvation.com//, which returns me to the home page. As far as I can tell, I cannot get to the overall forum index. I can still get to the individual forum indices by going to, for example, www.mtgsalvation.com/forum/the-game
When I click the "Notifications" star, rather than bringing me to the notifications page, it brings me to a blank page with the URL being whatever my URL just was. I can get to the page manually by going to www.mtgsalvation.com/notifications.

I hear ya, and on a conceptual level I absolutely agree with you. Unfortunately, there is a good, technical, reason why do it this way. It allows us to cache the forum much more heavily, saving quite a bit of bandwidth in the process. This should be a temporary issue as the admins find a happy medium for TPP and PPP that they can apply to each forum.

Ok. Can we set the "New Content" to at least 50 TPP? That is a universal location and one that makes a lot of sense with the traffic this site gets.
