I've attached the error message I am getting. I am not sure how helpful it will be as it is a standard warning from my antivirus that the site I am going to holds malicious software on it.

"As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapable of solving approaches zero." -- Varsuvius, Order of the Stick
The invalid stylesheet link issue which I've reported multiple times still isn't fixed. Since this completely breaks the site on certain platforms/browsers, I'm starting to get concerned that the new site is going live soon.
Can one of the staff press the Curse people directly on this?
Note that anything wrong with the Beta currently will stay broken until we go live. No point fixing something we're just going to throw away. What we do know is that almost all the problems found with the current Beta have been fixed

They're posting a massive update today, as I understand it. We'll see if it has been fixed, and if not, I'll be sure to bring them to their attention personally, okay?

Has this update gone through? It is still not accessible to me through Safari (stalls at a blank page).

The explosion that... destroyed our city, razed our home, and turned our fields into wasteland was nothing compared to what was now happening to those who survived.
As far as I can tell, no. Some of the branding changed but nothing major has been pushed as far as I can tell.
First off, Nis, you are the f'in MAN for porting the style sheet over to the new site. Even though it looks like it's only 50% done, it's a great starting point. I'll be working on completing it (the font needs changing and the various backgrounds need to be fixed, and the sizing needs to be shrunk on the forum titles). Still, having your work as a starting point is a major time saver. Thank you.
I logged into the beta site, and saw no control panel, or any option to apply forum skins, so I'm assuming that feature is not going to be included and we're basically left to ou own devices with Stylish?
Nis' forum skin is actually a really good start & a potential temporary solution until we get "real" skins (i.e. skins on the site in a dropdown box like now) up and going. I sent a link to it to our Curse rep earlier, and he seemed excited about it.

I do what I can.
Something to consider: the latest update changed some of the default styles, in particular the specificity of some of the CSS selectors. In addition, some CSS properties now have the !important qualifier.
This will make changing some things trickier. Remember that a property with !important always takes precedence (unless two properties that would affect the same thing both have the !important qualifier). After that it comes down to specificity of the selectors. If something doesn't seem to be changing check the default page style for !important qualifiers that would affect that element and see if you need to increase your selectors' specificity.

There is a control panel but it's sorely lacking in options. Click the "Welcome <nick>" text next to your avatar in the upper right corner and there is a preferences menu item.
I'm working on a Chrome extension that will remove some of the Curse stuff and try to bring back some of the forgotten features. Theming I'm going to leave to Stylish because I personally don't mind the new theme.
EDIT:
@Sene
I've asked a few times about adding card names to the card links as an attribute so I can more easily make Scry work with the new forums. I haven't heard any word so I'm assuming it's a "No," but I'd be grateful for at least an explicit denial to my request.

I have also made note of it. In general, expanding what tags are available and the functionality is on the list of things to be addressed. It is hard to tell though what will and what wont make the launch but they know of it at least.
EDIT - I might have misinterpreted your request.... Sene seems to have figured your request out though.

Thanks for bumping this question, it's the first time I've seen it. There are already names in the cardlinks, but the actual image urls don't have cardnames. It's the image urls you're referring to?
Can anyone tell me if there's a work around for the link to the beta forums being blocked on my machine at work ? I'll be on much less if that's the case.
I don't know if it's blocking the beta's address or just preventing the curse authentication.
(I've tried reading through the first few pages and decided to just come here and ask.)

Stylish seems to be doing a good job of taking my !important's and applying them, although I have found several cases where you need to declare things more than once (Setting the font to back to Verdana is taking a lot of duplicate entries). It's just a matter of using Firefox's Style Inspector to dig through the pages structures one element at a time and see what properties to change. It's slow going, but so far it's moving along. I have most of the fonts changed back and have slowly starting eliminating all the black from the site and reverting it back to white.
I have to say this is one reason I'm rarely a fan of website redesigns. Invariably the involve a whole lot of effort to undo the "improvement" and get the site back to something readable in nature. Nis's start saved a LOT of time, but I can tell I'll be hunting down little straggling CSS oddities for a long time. I can't say the benefit of having a card database or multiple spoilers is nearly worth the effort this is going to take to make the site pleasurable to my eyes again. And I'm only on the forum listing, then you have to do the post listings, the post and reply pages, the edit pages. etc.
I'll be glad to share what I'm working on at any time, just beware, I haven't touched web design and CSS is quite a long while so it's not going to be the cleanest code out there.

Is there anyway to make this work friendly. I can access this site with no problems, but Cures sites come up as gaming sites.
I doubt it's possible. The Curse network of sites is probably blacklisted as "Gaming" in work proxies/firewalls, if so there's not much Curse can do about it.
I have also made note of it. In general, expanding what tags are available and the functionality is on the list of things to be addressed. It is hard to tell though what will and what wont make the launch but they know of it at least.
Thanks for bumping this question, it's the first time I've seen it. There are already names in the cardlinks, but the actual image urls don't have cardnames. It's the image urls you're referring to?
Not so much. I was hoping that it would be possible to include the card name and the set as attributes in the link tag. Here's what a card link tag currently looks like on the beta:
My example is a little contrite because I can easily use a regex to grab the card name and set from the href attribute, but for card's with special characters like To Arms! the link isn't all that helpful. Scry has some problems with GatheringMagic.com's card links for the exact same reason: special characters are omitted from the link.
Really I was hoping that the change in software would facilitate a move towards making card links easier to parse. I know it's not high on the Curse techs list to make their site more friendly for an extension that is injecting content, but I can at least dream.
Nothing is impossible, but Curse would have to convince the web proxy companies out there not to consider them a gaming site, which I don't really see happening.
Really surprising that they are going full steam ahead with this when it's likely going to crush visits during US working hours, and they make their $$ by putting eyeballs on the site. Just seems like an all downside move to me, but then again, most website redesigns I've seen usually are, so they aren't breaking any new ground or anything.
Can somebody please update the threads on beta? Right now, due to new things being posted on this site instead of that one, we would lose 70 pages of the Modern Banned List discussion. And that is just one example. I don't want to have to post everything that I've said in the past month again.

I'm pretty sure that when the site goes live it will be with a new snapshot taken right after this site is taken down. You should not lose anything except what you've posted on the beta site most likely.
EDIT: Don't take my word as gospel, though. I'm not involved with this change over but if Curse is following standard practice then what I am saying should happen.

Definitely not all downside - first off, vBulletin is old and outdated, and has a lot of bugs and the security is bad. On the other hand, Cobalt brings the possibility of rather easily adding features & fixing stuff that we couldn't as easily add on vBulletin. To begin with, we'll have an enhanced front page and an on-site card database. And more down the line. Having it be exactly like this unfortunately isn't sustainable long-term.
Also @ updating threads: Nis has it right. It'll be updated upon launch, right now we're in Beta.
Edit: also Nis, I'll direct the Curse guys to that post there. Not promising anything other than that.

I really appreciate it. I mentioned it a few times in the beta but never got a response so I've been assuming it's a topic that's verboten for the Curse techs.

Unfortunately, it's unlikely, but I have reported it as a high priority issue. And trust me, this is really something Curse would like to solve.

The fact that a staff member demoted himself because of Curse blocking does not bode well for the problem being solved.
But I'd say "very improbable", not "impossible".
Thanks a bunch.
