The last prerelease I went to was for Darksteel. On the way home, I was explaining to my wife some of the new mechanics. In particular, I described indestructible and how most of the cards that were indestructible was named Darksteel ~~~. In the storyline (as best I understood it), it was made of Darksteel.
That night, my cats were trying to tear apart a pair of my boxers. When I got them away, there wasn't a tear, a scratch, or any damage at all. My wife said, "Damn. Those underpants are indestructible."
Indestructible, you say?
Darksteel Underpants
I had always wondered if there was a story to that. I have always loved you username. It's just so delightfuly cheesy.

I wrote a sappy poem once about a Fairy on a tree limb and one of the lines had to do with a person passing by. For some reason I added in the 'e' and it made it a weird meaning - at least to me.
The very first forums/newsgroup I joined was alt.games.sf2, back in in the mid/late 90's. Mondu_the_fat was the boss character in one of the first fighting games ever made, Tongue of the Fatman. It was original then, its original now, and I'm sticking to it.

Mine comes from my name. I am Jon...I worked with a guy who walked around and made nicknames for people in the office. He was thinking of a name for me when he started to exhale and said, "Jon...jonny...jon...jon...jonski. Jonski...jonnyjonski!"
That's where it came from and I'm surprised that I have been able to use on every site that I need to register for. If you see it elsewhere...there's a good chance that it's me:D!

Me? You want me to tell you where MY name came from???
LET ME TELL YOU THEN!!!
I was writing the beginning of a story when I was really young... i think 10 or something... It was going to be about a Beetle who had to run away from predators and danger, only to be found by a kid who squished it. However, for some reason, I made it into some kind of fantasy fiction novel that I am still working on seven years later. Basically, he is imbued with magic and becomes intelligent, and its then where he becomes the Drunken Beetle, Drunken not meaning alchoholic but wandering, being satiated with his experiences.
Sadly, I made that story with someone who used to be my best friend... about three months ago we both silently agreed never to speak to each other again, and now I am left alone to write it without him. The name will live on, however, and I shall for ever be the DB! ALL HAIL!

Hrm, pretty sure I've told this before, but oh well...When I was first signing up for magic boards, I was going to Magic4you, btw, and ended up becoming a mod there, I was thumbing through my black cards, and came across Insidious Dreams...I loved the card name, and chose it as my name for ever to love and to cherish, and sucheries. However, eventually the site moved, and we had to re-register and everything, so I did, but I put in the wrong email address! So I re-signed up as the first, read: Alpha, Insidious...I was planning on having the admins change it back to just Insidious, but somehow, AlphaInsidious has a strange way of just rolling off of the tongue, don't you think? That was somewhere around 4 years ago, and I've used it EVERYWHERE since. Plus, now I can sign all of my msgs like so.

Lies! -I'm Buffy Summers, town tracker. I used my ability on you and saw that you didn't use any abilities before the game started. My flavor is I was sucked through a mysterious space-time portal and I'm here to kill all the vampires, and my tracking ability is a combination of my Slayer and Native American skills.
I use to do a hell of a lot of drugs, and one day whilst on mushrooms I realized that my spirit creature was an octopuss. I felt as if I had way more arms then I was born with and the name "Jolly The Octopuss" came into my head. I pictured this twisted looking octopuss with a top hat and gnarled and winding teeth sort of spinning around in his mouth. He appeared very sinister, but his voice was cute and cartoon like. He's the happy, fun, and loving part of me. And I've sort of grown a connection with this part of my psyche. Even though I tend not to pay enough attention to it during my daily life.
My name is from naruto it happens to be may favorite character....... but right now i really feel like changing my name but i dont want to re-regester I want to change it to Chode of the Dawn the story behind the name is my friends call me chode becuase of my name being cody and i put chode into a random name generater and Chode of the Dawn came out and i like it

Talk to one of the admins. They have the power to change your screenname. They did it for Chainer/Mazeura.
This name has no real meaning. It's just some syllables loosely strung together.
Although I'm told it can mean something in Japanese.

It's funny because innocent people that were trying to pay the bills for their families were brutally murdered.
Interesting story (not really) - My surname is Bland, and someone at school I didn't know came up to me one day an asked "Is your name Richard Blas?" and the nickname has kind of stuck with me from "blas" to "blasman" to "blasmeister" - which I use on the 'net (note: username is supposed to be pronounced Blaz-my-stur). A year or so later I found out that my username also means something rather rude in German - Score!
yeah - obviously I disagree with you, John. Spam Warning!.....Amazing - even in a forum where posts don't count, there's spam. That proves that getting rid of the post-count won't help getting rid of spam! Thans for this excellent example! - Craven

The word Turbo came to me in a dream like years ago. I remember it being accompanied by bright blue-ish green lasers and explosions and stuff, and I'm all, "wow, turbo's a cool word!" Then I woke up.
The 164 is also odd. Before I started playing magic, I had read about several CCG's: Magic, Pokemon, Killer Instinct (yes it was a TCG, rather innovative but short-lived) and others. So I was making my own card game (which was HORRIBLE, very clunky rules, luck-based, imbalanced etc etc). I was also into programming at the time; TI-82 calculators for the most part. I got the brilliant idea to put my game on the calculator! So I programmed in one card, checked how much memory it took and how much the calculator could hold, and deduced that I could fit 164 cards on the TI-82. Started counting how many cards I had made up to that point...163!!! So I made the 164th card Turbo. Never did finish the game, but that crazy coincidence on the number stuck with me, as did that dream for who knows what reason...
Also, the calculator games I wrote are what started my path to a Computer Science major. I was writing RPG's and stuff that just couldn't fit on calculators, so I tried some on VB and Java, and was hooked. Currently starting my 4th year as a CS student.

I have a fish tank next to my computer. SO one day I needed a name for a board, looked up and saw a can of fish food sitting on top of the tank so I was like why not. I then used it for my AOL s/n(mysticalfishfood) and now all my friends call me that(Ain't to happy about it).

You don't need the most expensive cards to win games, but it helps.
My friend was giving out names to everyone and she knew I was a wiccan. She look me in the face looked at my eyes and dubbed me Sapphire. Now Tri was my add on. When I hang out with people its always in 3's. I consider 3 a lucky number and more and everything that happens always on the 3rd time is always good to me.
Easy enough. I have been fixated on dragons since I knew what they were. I always want to play a dragon in D&D and unfortunately, every retard on the gaming boards has decided that names starting with Dragon are cool. I changed the way its spelled so now I can tell people where to e-mail me and I'm not lying and at the same time if I don't want them to really e-mail me, I just don't bother to correct their spelling. Mage is well duh, I play magic. I was very excited when a card came out with the name Dragon Mage. Too bad it costs too much to play, or I would have a deck built around them.
I play Warhammer( and 40k too), and well... I try to play cheap(in cash) hero-hammer armies! The name has a certain ring to it. I always use it or swordquest, which is the name of a series of games, which I like, for the Atari 2600 from the early and mid 80's. I always use one or the other on the net or in games. I never use them in real life though.
