I talked to my friend (the guy who owns the server all of this is on) about making a website to put here, so we have a more official thing. I told him that graphically and content wise I wanted it to be pretty simple, but that I wanted to beable to add news to it and such.
Without getting too extreme, are there any suggestions you all would like to make for the main-page-to-be?
I can't seem to get anything Flash based to display correctly on this computer, and it wants me to download each time I view a page on this site. :disgust4:
As for the main page, as long as all the contents fit on one page without having me to scroll down too much, I'm alright with it. A design for the official logo would be the first thing I would try to figure out. :smile01:
Definitely use the same color scheme as the forum, nothing too distracting, easy to locate what you want, as few ads as possible.

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
While I'm at it, what do you all think of this theme? I was thinking that something a bit darker would be easier on the eyes. I don't know about you, but looking at really bright backgrounds against small dark text gets rather straining on the eyes :disgust4:
A bigger default font would be nice. This tiny font hurts my beautiful brown eyes! :'(

"If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet destroy every closet door." - Harvey Milk, from a tape that was to be played only after his assassination.
"Kids don't beat me, I beat kids!" - Homer
"Serve no master but your ambition." - Illyria
"The best government is the government that is powerlessly afraid of overstepping it's bounds." - Denver'D
One suggestion I would offer is more articles, more frequently. I believe the forums are going to be the heart and soul of this place just like they were at 'news...but an organized main page with well thought out articles and stories will be even more helpful to us as a community.

I would be glad to write articles for a place that actually excepts them.
I dont know what was going on at the time, but I never recieved any response to the articles I did for mtgnews. Not even a "not accepted" message, even though they were pretty well written. >:)

PS: If you need an extra set of hands for HTML coding for the page, I'm all yours.
