Read this and immediately knew it was the umbrella scene
That scene left quite the impact. Show was great overall.
None of the other deaths even compared to that one though, i'm not quite sure why. I guess it's because it was the first death and was relatively unexpected, plus it was a total accident.
Also, was I the only one who went through the entire show not knowing that Ms.Mikami and Reiko were the same person? I felt like such an idiot. I caught all the scenes where the hinted at Reiko being dead, but never thought to suspect her as I thought she had no connections to the class anymore. I just kept thinking to myself "why do they keep talking as if she's dead?"
Anyways, i'm now looking to pick up something else to watch, I'm thinking something a little more lighthearted and uplifting would be good for the soul right now.
Otakuthon is an anime convention in Montréal. It's this weekend. I'm sure I will look like a little kid in a candy shop when I will be there. Here's a link: http://www.otakuthon.com/

Casual crazy magic player, otaku maniac, unrully cosplayer, what did you expect me to be?
I could never get into cosplaying (although non-anime/manga-wise, I did do Dr. Manhattan once). And I'd love to go to a convention as Oskar von Reuenthal and see if I can get even half a dozen people to recognize it.
Next year, I will do some cosplay. Only thing is, I don't know which character I could cosplay as. But i don know a couple that would look goos as Holo and Lawrence.

That would be friggin' amazing, just sayin'.
I remember one year my sister went as Reimu and only like 3 people recognized her (but it was like what... 2008?)

The basic thing is that I'm an absolute dead ringer for Jade from Tales of the Abyss, and I think that'd be a fun crossplay. But the problem is the time/effort/money involved in doing so.
And the fact that the character isn't that recognizable. Though not quite as unrecognizable if I were to do a d'Eon de Beaumont cosplay (i.e. the character from my avatar).

I need to watch that; it's been burning a hole in my Plan to Watch for a while (like so many other anime). Is it like a modern Rose of Versailles?
I tried watching Le Chevalier D'Eon, but couldn't bring myself to sit down and watch more past the first few eps... Currently finishing up Sankarea. Pretty sad story.

I decided on Hanasaku Iroha, exactly what the doctor ordered.
Cosplaying is always something that I thought was interesting, but would never actually do.

Never actually seen Rose of Versailles. But I've described Chevalier d'Eon to others as a gender-swapped Revolutionary Girl Utena, except with a focus on politics rather than abstract philosophy and religious allegory. It's a bit slow-paced, but I liked it.

Maybe I'll check it out soon. Politics and slow-paced anime are both good
It sounds like you'd appreciate Rose of Versailles -- I recommend it. Nozomi is in the process of uploading them to Youtube (they also released two box sets in subbed English a month ago, and you can get them for 60 USD total).
Just watched the OreImo OVAs. Very bittersweet. I'm really going to miss the series.
That ending was just so ...
Although on the bright side I don't have to put an Aniplex size hole in my wallet.

Quite a bit less campy than either of those titles too.
When I go to anime conventions I always cosplay as a Magic player.
Bwahahaha. So neckbeard with no deodorant?

Hey, lolis with katanas are awesome, and I don't care about their home country.
And the fact that the character isn't that recognizable.
Tales of the Abyss was recently licensed by Funimation. I'm looking forward to seeing it since I haven't watched it online or played the game and only buy english dubbed anime. (The assumption is that Funimation will dub it since they have always dubbed all their anime).
I enjoyed the setting, intrigue, and swordplay. I haven't seen Utena, so I use Final Fantasy Tactics as my frame of reference when describing the show to others.
Although on the bright side I don't have to put an Aniplex size hole in my wallet.
Hahaha. I'm gonna be getting the SAO and Fate/Zero blurays for the soundtracks and trading cards. But I won't be able to watch them until I get a PS3 next year. I wish they had put the DVDs in like they did with Madoka.
Neckbeard with deodorant. Cosplay policies usually ban real weapons from being brought inside the convention. I propose that BO be considered a biological weapon.
IKR. Screw friendship and snacks. This show needs more card games.
Fantasista Dolls is so unrealistic. I watched up to episode 5. How can any Magic: To Gather player invite a new member to the clubhouse and *not* play Magic while eating those snacks?

Just got back from Montreal. The Otakuthon was AMAZING! I had fun dancing on DDR, eating things I never ate before (Takoyaki and Bubble Tea), taking lots of pictures of cosplay (pitty I couldn't take the picture of the man sprite with an unnidentified object in the shape of a male organ protuding in his pants) and I even managed to get my hands on more animes that I can watch!
I found the complete Outlaw Star anime, found 1 DVD and 1 Blu-Ray Slayer collections (DVD seasons 1-2-3, Blu-Ray seasons 4-5), got myself a small Buster Sword replica, Final Fantasy 3 DS version and many more things!
Next year, I'm going cosplay style and it might be Xelos from Slayers!

Sure you would. Magic: To Gather has tons of people cosplaying it.
Since I'm always a week behind I've stopped watching until the multi-part fight arc ends so that I can marathon it. It seems I won't be dissapointed.

I've only seen the first episode of the TV show. I'll watch the rest eventually.

Conventions are one of those things that seem like a fun idea but I never have the time or money to make them happen.
The worst part is that if I did go to one, I'd be inclined to cosplay...
No cons for me until late Sept then late Oct.

There's also at least 100% more Maximilien Robespierre in it than the other titles.
